Powers: Genetics/Ether/Magic
  Through some as of yet undetermined quirk of genetic legacy or mutation, some people are born with special abilities. Many of these ‘powers’ manifest during puberty, but some can be evident from birth. There are many categories of powers; some minor and some major. Much of what determines a person’s specific abilities seems to be based on their personal psychology. Many supers seem to be limited by inherent psychological crutches that they’ve imparted on themselves.

Certain drugs and technologies can prevent a person from accessing their genetic abilities. One very simple method is ‘white noise’, which makes it difficult for the super to concentrate enough to summon their power.

  Magical abilities seem to still be tied to genetics. Not only do they run in families, but they can be prevented in the same way that other powers can. These powers are also highly dependent on the individuals personal sense of what they can and can’t do. However, it is theorized that anyone who can use ‘magic’, should wield virtually unlimited ability to replicate nearly any other power.

Ghosts
  Ghosts are remnants of a living creatures’s mana that has been imbued into an object or a location.  Only powerful Novusi have the ability to maintain their incorporeal form after death, but over time their energy will fade.  Most ghosts are only fragments of a person’s personality or a memory.  Certain mages can reclaim this energy in much the same way it can be harvested from living beings.
