Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Kal nodded, "All the fixins, and thanks." Once he got the drinks, he tipped the bar tender for the info and made his way back to the table with the beverages. "Talmog for you..." Kal set the drink in front of Mirax, "...and Johrian whiskies for Seris and me." He looked meaningfully back at Mirax, "Our friend seems to be in that room over there." Kal pointed to the room he had been told about. "But we can down these drinks before meeting him."

He turned back to Seris, "So, Seris, what brought you to Koshibal?"

Her eyebrows disappeared into her bangs as Kal mentioned the back rooms.  Without commenting, she took her drink and nodded her thanks.  She smiled thinly at his question.  "Necessity brought me here.  Still looking for a way to get off this rock.  Deciding who to trust is a bit tricky.  Half of the smugglers that breeze through this place would take your credits and slit your throat as soon as they have the opportunity."  She frowned, looking back to the crowd.

"You lot don't seem like the typical fare to visit this place, however.  What sort of business are you in?"  It wasn't a question she really expected an answer to.  People didn't really talk about their business on Koshibal.

Kal smiled thinly at Zala's consideration of the smugglers in the area. Unfortunately, that's exactly the kind of scum that they had to deal with. "Whatever kind of business makes credits," Kal answered easily. "We, uh, might have an extra seat on our flight off this rock. If you're interested. You possess some skills that would certainly be useful."

"A bit early to start talking like that," she smirked at Kal.  "You never know.  I might be the sort to knife you when your back is turned."  She wasn't, of course, but it didn't look good to appear weak on Koshibal.  There was always someone listening.

"Don't let me keep you from your business.  I'm just here for the drink."  She took a long drink and grimaced.

Kal shrugged, "I'd rather finish my drink before doing business. So where would you go if did manage to get off this rock?"

(OOC: Sorry, been preoccupied, forgot I had to post - in a lot of places actually, heh.)

A little disturbed by the revelations brought about by her touch with the Force, Mirax remained silent as the other two conversed.  She did listen to the conversation, of course, but she had little to add, considering where the conversation was going.  With that in mind, she chose to remain silent, and continued to sip her drink.

"I haven't gotten that far," she said honestly to Kal.  "On the move, I suppose, with no thought for destination.  No place in particular I need to be so long as it isn't here."

Her brows drew together as she looked back to her drink.  In all honesty, she wasn't sure where to start or how to being.  The first step was to find a way off Koshibal.  She glanced up, studying the trio silently.  It was stupid to trust total strangers.  Wasn't it?

Mi had seperated himself a little from the others moving just a short ways behind them from the port, to the medical facility and then to the cantina.  He kept his baring and person unobtrusive but not seeming to be trying to hide, the perfect blend between the two always working the best.

As they had entered the cantina he followed shortly after his broad brimmed hat pulled low and the collar of his coat flipped up, giving him the dark shadows to hid his face that a cloak normally provided.  As the others made themselves merry talking with each other and enjoying their drinks he stood off by the wall watching the crowad looking for something, anything to show itself of interest and importance.

Kal finished the last of his drink, licking his lips after having the last drop. He then complimented the newcomer, "Excellent choice, Seris. You're welcome to join us on our brief detour to conduct our business, or wait here for our return. Consider my offer to get you off this rock if you want to remain behind."

Kal then nodded meaningfully to Mirax to finish her poison and make for the back rooms.

Is Zala tagging along to the back room? Mirax?

Your stealth roll is so good, you're pretty certain no one noticed you come in, but the perception gives you nothing of interest.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Her gut told her not to get involved, but she had always been too curious for her own good. She decided that learning more about what they were up to would help her make up her mind. Kal seemed friendly enough, but the other two looked preoccupied. After downing her drink, she shrugged.  "Why not?  If your friends don't mind, of course.  I would rather not sit out here alone. People start to get ideas."

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

When she got a nod from Kal, Mirax looked down at her drink.  Only half done.  With a light sigh, she lifted her cup to her lips, and downed the rest in one go.  She managed to resist cringing at the burn, but only just.  Setting her cup down a little hard, she shook her head quickly.

"All right, lets go then,"
she said, standing from the table.  Her own tolerance for alcohol meant she didn't need to worry about just one drink.

And yet, that drink hits the jedi slightly harder than she expects. She wavers slightly as she gets up, but the moment passes.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

The Jedi now on her feet, the group is free to head towards the back of the establishment where the red mopped bar keep nods you through as he cleans up a few dirty glasses in front of him. Mi, always watching your back, takes an opportune moment to follow when the man has his back turned and takes up a dark corner from where he can see the door through which Kal leads rest of the party.

There, sitting in a corner of what appears to be a small private lounge is a Gran warming with two scanty-clad Twi'lek girls to each side of him, are busy caressing him affectionately. His three eyes glance up at the intrusion in surprise, "What do ya want? Can't you see this room's booked?" His eyes search you for details, and he visibly relaxes when he sees that you have no weapons in hand, though the mood is obviously spoiled as the girls stop what they were doing to observe you with quiet interest.

"Maybe they want fun too...? More credits for us..."
one of them says with a smile, and the other one giggles in response.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Under other circumstances, Kal would have had made some sort of suggestive comment, but it was time to get down to business. He held out two fingers on his right hand, and pointed one each toward the unwelcome Twi'leks. In a voice that suggested they obey he simply said, "You two, out. Close the door when you leave. You will still be compensated." He kept the anger he felt out of his voice, but his gaze was directed toward the Gran and never wavered.

A bit surprised at Kal's orders, Zala's eyebrows raised a fraction.  She ignored the Twi'lek girl, having seen more than her share of them and not particularly impressed.  She pitied them, if anything.  Arms crossed, she waited to see if they could comply and studied the Gran through slightly narrowed lids.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Immediately put on edge by the effect the drink had on her, Mirax paused for a moment as the wave of dizziness passed her by.  Her first suspicion was that the drink had been spiked, but it passed too quickly.  For now, she was fine, but she made a note to deal with it a little later.

As they entered the room, Mirax leaned in close to Kal as he passed to take the lead.  "Eyes open," she whispered. "Something's gonna go down here.  Don't know when, but safer to assume soon." She then took up a position nearby, and tapped into the Force once more.  Using it to sense her surroundings was a little more risky than doing so internally, but it was a risk worth taking.  On the plus side, with such a busy area, and with such malcontent in the air, it would be tough for any other Jedi to pick out such a simple usage.

02:16, Today: Mirax Bey rolled 25 using 1d20+15 with rolls of 10. UTF, Sense Surroundings (DC 15 I believe).

[Private to Mirax Bey: Other than the Gran and the rest of you, you don't detect any presences that are waiting to pounce. The mood in the cantina is upbeat, and the Gran doesn't feel particularly dangerous, if unreliable.]

In reply to Kal Wennyn (msg #406):

The two Twi'lek girls pout at being so rudely dismissed, but otherwise get up and brush between Mirax and Zala. They make a point in turning up their noses at Kal, and the Gran watches them leave with one of his eyes, and keeps the other two on Kal. Once the door closes, the Gran shifts his weight. "This better be good, Nahn-takai."

Kal's stoic demeanor softened considerably once they were alone. In fact, a smile graced his face before he addressed Ulu in a very even, nearly friendly tone, "I presume you are Ulu Teem? We're here to follow up on the bit of intelligence you provided. A mutual superior of ours caught wind of a communique you sent...that you had spotted an important fugitive around these parts..."

Kal looked expectantly at the Gran trusting they hadn't stumbled onto the wrong one. Of course he had been somewhat circumspect in case they had.

Zala crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back against the wall, listening rather than attempting to add anything.  Kal seemed to be doing well enough by himself and she wasn't even sure what they were after.

Important fugitive?  Who could they be after?  Me?  A momentary pang of fear struck her as the thought crossed her mind.  Her gaze slid sidelong to Mirax.  Are they working for him?  She settled as she realized how ridiculous that was.  She could hardly be classified as important.
