Kal stood by patiently as Zala took the lead, as was her role in this con. Kal smiled for the camera as it inspected her, and turned her attention to the door as it opened. However, Kal waited for Zala to lead them into the belly of this beast.

Zala/Seris entered the compound without hesitation as the doors opened, leading the way to follow the protocol droid.  She was impressed by the lavish decor, but expected nothing less from a man of Findos' means.  Assuming a more possessive role, she glanced back briefly at the group to make sure they were in order and following along.

Mirax - or, Rhea Spince, as was her cover name for the moment - followed close behind Seris, who was currently playing the part of their Agent.  Mirax kept an air of confidence about her, walking with a sultry sway to her hips that, thankfully, came natural to her, and would come naturally to the dancer she was playing.  Essentially, she aimed to look the part of the dancer who knew she was good.  However, she wouldn't be doing the talking - not yet anyway.  So, she let Selis lead on until their cover was no longer an issue.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

The group is led through one of the richly adorned hallways, through a series of various rooms and twist and turns. Eventually, it is clear that it leads to a very secure part of the facility, which are, as the droid explains, his master's personal chambers.

Eventually, the wary party passes through another massive blast door, and isn't too surprised when the entrance slams shut behind them. Finally, your droid guide simply stops.

As soon as the blast door closed behind them, Mirax scanned the room.  She didn't like where this was going, but she didn't yet let it show on her face.  For the time being, she used the Force to search the area...

Zala/Seris didn't bother to look behind her.  She had expected Findo's security measures to return to their normal function as soon as they had been delivered to the room where he would receive them.  When the protocol droid paused, she moved forward to look about and observe all that she could while searching for the Master of the house himself.

16:44, Today: Zala Quel'falri rolled 12 using 1d20+11 with rolls of 1. Perception.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

Everyone looks around the chamber, wary and very conscious that they were pretty much at Findos' mercy. The way back was cut off, the way forward seemed to be unexistant, however, only Mirax looked at the center of the chamber as if expecting something to come out through the floor. Eventually, something did just that. The smooth marble surface of the floor suddenly lowered and split with a rumble that shook you where you stood as the droid moved over towards your left, then turned around to watch you. There in the middle of the floor rose up a strange looking platform with what appeared to be a chair and desk. On which was a Neimoidian busy looking at a data screen next to him.

Eventually his eyes fixed themselves on the party, and then finally on Seris. "Ahhh, Seris..." he said in basic, "what a pleasant surprise. What's this about you taking on a few dancers??"

Seris blinked at the sudden appearance of the Neimoidian.  She turned to face him fully and inclined her upper body toward him.  "Master Findos.  Thank you for seeing us.  Yes, I've branched out, so to speak.  My profession pays me well, but this pays much better."  She smiled and gestured to the girls.  "I understand you are always looking for new entertainment and immediately thought of you.  My girls are some of the best you will ever see."

"Well, this is a surprise, but a wise decision on your part," Findos said as he turned to consider the advancing Twi'lek, and though a smile crossed his lips, it did not reach his eyes. "Aahawanah, niek nopata zeb zeb hierch. Odoa'an chi'ien ota okpo ata..." [Private to GM: "Stop, stay where you are. Or you'll get hurt..."] he said to the advancing Twi'lek, waving a firm hand in her direction.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

OOC: edited by GM

Now that Findos' attention was mostly on Kal - she didn't think he was focusing only on her of course - Mirax decided to make her move.  She knew there were likely cameras and other monitoring devices, but since they had come under alternate personas, and would not be revealing their true identities, she did not think they would be much of a problem.  Besides, she didn't plan on being on this planet long anyway.

So, while Findos said something she could not understand, Mirax sauntered up to the desk, approaching from an angle that would put her just barely within his peripheral vision, provided he was looking at Kal.  She moved like Kal had, putting herself on display and keeping up the act until she reached his desk.  [Private to GM: Provided she was able, once she reached his desk, she would spin and have a seat on the corner, crossing her legs in the process.

"Actually,"
she started, leaning towards him so she wouldn't have to speak so loud, thus making it harder for sound recorders placed anywhere but on the desk to pick up her words.  Regardless, even if she didn't reach the desk, and if Findos tried to escape, it wouldn't be hard to keep him in this room with the Force.  He was quite light after all. "I'm here to get a couple questions answered - questions only you can answer, Findos.  I am a fair person of course - I'm not asking for charity.  Consider the eye-candy a pre-payment.  If you answer my questions, I'll have a package of premium spice sent your way by the end of the night."  Since they had decided to go early rather than wait on Ulu Teem to get them the spice, Mirax had opted to use it as something to sweeten the deal, to make Findos cooperate without having to use the Force so early on.

[Private to GM: I hope you didn't go and assume that since we didn't have the spice we weren't using it, heh.  Ulu Teem should still be working hard to get it by the end of the day according to the Mind Trick.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

As the dancers keep moving forward, the Neimoidian's smile widens. Suddenly, Mirax and Kal walk past a certain line on the ground and they're violently pushed back, as the sizzle of a so far unseen energy field repulses the two women. Suddenly, pandamonium ensues... the ground to either side of the group lifts up to reveal alcoves from which B3 Ultra Battledroids start powering-up. "Fools!! I don't know what your game is, but Nute Findos isn't so easily taken by surprise..!!! A Twi'lek that doesn't understand Twi'lek is an obvious tip off...!!" he yells as his desk starts lowering into the lower levels. "Pardon me, if I don't stay to see how you'll get out of this..."

Roll initiative.

[Private to Zala Quel'falri: You did that fine. And I'll show you how things work as we go along. For now, just initiative is fine. If you think you want to be higher up in the initiative, or if you want to augment a skill or attack roll, you can add a force point, whch allows you to add a d6 to your skill or attack roll.]

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

INITIATIVE - Round 1

27 Enemy Droids
26 Mirax
25 Zala
24 Mi Truev
12 Kal
04 TC-11

Findos' dais slowly lowers as the battle droids advance. Weapons now armed and ready to deal with the intruders, the heavy repeating blasters start humming their deadly song and bursts of deadly energy roar towards the heroes at the center of the cross-fire.

Mirax: 11HP (DC14), 16HP (DC19) (total 27)
Kal:   11HP (DC14),  8HP (DC19) (total 19)
Mi:     7HP (DC18), 14HP (DC17) (total 21)
Zala:   6HP (DC11),  8HP (DC11) (total 14)

Those of you with Force Powers or Talents that can avoid the damage, roll them now. Everyone may also take their moves.

[Private to Zala Quel'falri: You can roll Use the Force (UTF) to try and Negate the attack with Negate Energy. You could do it twice, but what I'd suggest is that you get hit with the first attack, negate the second (you need to roll 8 +), and you have the option of healing yourself by using a Force Point with the 8 energy, so, regain 6 HP.

This lets you use Negate Energy a 2nd time in the fight. If ever you roll a Nat 20 on your UTF check, you automatically regain the spent Force Powers.

Re: Episode 1: The Search for Luke Skywalker Begins

OOC: Edited by GM

Mirax cursed - the Droids, with their electronics and hydraulics managed to best even her reaction time and get shots off before she could get out her lightsaber.  Being a Force Artist (a self-coined term), she had a few other tricks up her sleeve.  Taking the first attack to her side, she gritted through the pain and concentrated on the second.  With an upraised hand, she caught and absorbed the energy from the second blast, and used it to fuel her own body, taking away the pain from her first wound, and using it to heal what little damage had been done.

Then, she drew and lit her lightsaber.  Her first act, however, was not one of revenge on the droids.  No, instead, she reached out through the Force... and plucked Findos from his seat.

Okay, lots of stuff to do.

Take the first attack (11 Damage)
Reaction: Negate Energy on the second
 - 19:23, Today: Mirax Bey rolled 30 using 1d20+16 with rolls of 14. UTF - Negate Energy.
 - Damage (16) negated
 - use special ability: Spend FP, gain 16 HP, putting me back at full

Now my turn:

Move: Draw lightsaber
Swift: Ignite lightsaber
Standard: Move Object on Findos
 - 18:11, Today: Mirax Bey rolled 32 using 1d20+16 with rolls of 16. UTF Check.
 - move object up to Gargantuan (lol); I doubt Findos' Will Defense is enough to resist it
 - Pick up Findos, and drop him between Mi and Mirax.
Talking: Free Action!

In reply to Mirax Bey (msg #542):

Nute's eyes go wild with fury as Mirax suddenly grabs him with a strand of the Force and plucks him from his seat. However, no sooner that he is raised from his seat, the droid next to Mirax takes advantage of her moment of concentration and sends another barrage of shot in her direction. The young Jedi is hit with a blast of energy that threatens her hold on the Force as her mind fights through the pain.

You must beat DC 15 + 17 (32) in order to keep your hold on Findos and move him where you want him.

23:16, Today: Power of the Darkside rolled 17 using 3d10+3 with rolls of 8,1,5. Potential Damage (auto).

Actions
 - use Destiny Point to take 20 on the UTF roll.  Dude has it coming.  Then, of course, complete the turn as per way above.

Mirax manages to fight through the pain and tosses Findos over her head, and with a yell drops him on the floor between her and their stealthy bodyguard, Mi.  This was so that, if he refused her threat, she could leave him to Mi, and then deal with the droids the old fashioned way.

"Shut off the droids, Findos,"
she said, leveling her lightsaber at the droid next to her.  Findos, after all, was not really a threat.  "Or this is going to be a very bad day for you."
