Typo (Oops): 16 on the lower level should be port vehicle bay and is the larger
one. The smaller "16" on the plans should be 17.
Differences Between Gypsy Moth and Suzain
The two designs are largely similar, but there are a few differences:
a) No VIP stateroom. Replaced by two standard size staterooms.
b) VIP office changed to much smaller ship's office. Only 1.5m wide, the office
has just enough space for three desks in a row. The office is often used by
mission specialists as a place to do admin work away from the labs. It can hardly
be considered an attractive work environment.
c) Fitness room replaced by bay for five probe drones.
d) Cargo capacity cut from 120tons to 20tons.
e) Ship has sufficient lab space for five mission specialists to work in parallel.
Labs are built to be modular, with specific scientific equipment tailored to
the ship's current mission.
f) Two vehicle bays added. Starboard bay is only large enough for an air raft
or smaller vehicle. Port bay can carry a G Carrier or ATV sized vehicle.
g) Two additional tons of space for general mission storage is provided near
port vehicle bay.
h) Sixty tons of fuel added, bringing total fuel capacity to 164tons. Fuel is
sufficient for three parsecs of jump, four weeks of powerplant ops, and twenty
tons of "cargo fuel", enough to tank a scout/courier for a two parsec jump.
i) Appointments and accommodations are much less lavish than on
Gautheaux or
Gypsy Moth.
