Merlin has to go to Nexus to get his armor 'maintained', eventually, when the GM says he needs to. He has paid for this in various sundry ways.

Merlin also eventually will learn Sorcery ;-)

They can find him in a tent sleeping for the first time in 2 days if I remember correctly. He told them where he was going to be.

Since Austringer has had some quasi-downtime while posing as a mundane mospid and hanging around with Seln, the Duke, and that interloping Immaculate, I'm going to tack on his self-training attempts and such for all the things he is spending that XP on in a post at the end of "Crossing the Yanaze," if that's all right.  (Presumably, he hasn't had four solid months to hang around outside at night staring at the moon to raise his Essence to 4, but at least he can get started with some of the more elaborate stuff and perhaps polish off some of the shorter times.)

That's acceptable to me; he's had probably about a week of time between traveling north and now hanging out with the lost egg and the immaculate monk and the mortal guards.

Hm. with the party about to head into the wilds (not the Wyld, though), it may be time for a new OOC thread.

In any event, we have a new player joining us soon. The players screen name is kitsune9tails, and some of you may recognize him from the old Exalted forums. (I'm not as active on the new ones as I once was, so I am not sure how active he is over there, myself.)

We're still working on specifics of how his character fits in, but this brings us up to a healthy 5 active players once more!

I'm also somewhat excited about what's coming up, as plot shoes should be dropping for Azalea, Beatrix, and Austringer relatively shortly, while Merlin's got a major one on the far end of this side quest (for which seeds have been laid perhaps less clearly than I would like, though I promise you they're there).

My apologies, all, for how this latest thread has bogged down. It's not had as much that interested as many players as I thought it would. I'll work with Beatrix's player and any others who want to fast-track any information people want, and I'll start a new one with everybody arriving at the Nameless Lair by this weekend, unless people want to do something else before they get there.

Minor vocabulary-nazi note: It's "scrip," not "script," when referring to the currency of the Realm.

Peddles and Bea would know this, too: the most common currencies in this area are the guild dinar (and its derivatives) and Fallan's coinage. The Copper Crown is the primary unit of Fallan's currency, and is ostensibly worth one dinar. It is broken into 4 Falanbits. 100 cents is a Falanbit. 4 shills make a cent. (There are thus 1600 shills per Copper Crown.)

There are just under 24 shills to the Imperial Yen; the Imperial Yen is the base unit of scrip.

Trademeet Dale's penchant for using Imperial Boot Polish as a means of currency exchange is not too widely known, because they mostly do it internally. As a matter of realpolitick, they also use the Falanian Copper Crown at face value, but they try very hard to use it mostly for trade back to Falan, as it often isn't quite worth the full dinar that it supposedly is.
