GM, 440 posts Thu 18 Oct 2012 at 12:36 | Re: Who Watches the Watch Hill?During one of the cycles around the sandy room, one of the mural-walls changes. There's something moving out there. When they stop moving for a better look, it's just a dark spot in the sky, but after a minute of walking, it's resolved into a large airship of obviously magical construction. It's on the same wall as the one with the green orb painted above the same window.
Stopping to study it reveals it's painted into the mural as much as any of the rest of the fresco, but moving makes it almost seem to jump, appearing larger or closer and higher up on the wall.

We can help by finding out what these conspirators know and then seeing how much of it is useful. The most important thing to learn now is what is driving the tribes."
She continues on after this. "I believe that is the ship of a friend. He should be willing to help us chase our quarry, which is quite fortunate."

She peers at the ship for a few moments, then looks at Beatrix stranely.
"Friend? That's good, I guess. How can I help? I don't know how I could find anything about anything discussed."
She considers that for a few moments, following Beatrix.
"Except perhaps to ask a friend about the fellowship, I guess?"

Sniffing a bit, it scampers up Azalea's leg, then leaps across to Beatrix's...balcony. Where it sits and looks between the two women.

Apparently the captain was not exaggerating. Hello, little Carabas." She scratches the creature behind its ears before continuing. "I take it you are well? I did not know one could enter the tower through the windows. Is it because you can fly? Or is it a more esoteric trick?"

Azalea looks at the creature with a small "ah" of pleasant surprise (as opposed to a yelp of startling surprise), and doesn't move when it scampers up her leg.
"How cute. Carabas, you said?"
She blinks.
"Wait, what captain?"

"The friend I spoke of. He is Carabas'... 'marquis' is the term he used. Although he was profoundly inebriated at the time and the entire discussion was rather odd. The fine and darling Carabas here can turn himself into an airship, and apparently likes to get to places he oughtn't, hence his being here. These things are both most excellent as far as I am concerned."

Whatever this is, the walkway in this tower goes through it. Are you willing to come with us from this place? And where is here, in any event?" She punctuates this last question with more skritching behind the ears, to put the little creature in an amenable mood.

Indeed, the hallway looks like it leads to the familiar doors at the far end, and the position of the doorway and the emerald orb in the fresco relative to each other look like they did when the women first entered to follow the Duke around in circles, after just a few more minutes of travel. The Solars' sense of the Sun's position tells them it has been 24 and a half minutes since they started walking on this return journey.

There is a bush that is entirely non-suspicious to anybody who doesn't get at least three successes on a Perception+Investigation[The Game's Afoot!] roll. It is non-suspiciously near the other named characters, and equally unsuspiciously not anywhere near various nameless figures doing nameless duties around the large court-yard.
There is also a large force of infantry forming up around a few mounted knights near one of the gates. Deen is pointing at them and explaining to Merlin how they'll be traveling, and listening studiously to anything Merlin has to say on the subject of scouting for them. It seems it will take days to march to the border, which is expected to be just in time to meet with and stop the Beastmen. ...or so Prince Deen hopes, anyway.

Two of these bipedal beings presence begins to jog some memory in the Bush's mind, and the fuzzy thing's partially rodent-like form strikes fear in The Great Bush.
Oh, to have grown tall and full for so many summers to only be ravaged & devoured by the long, square teeth of this small vermin! The tragedy was thick. Would any one know The Bush's suffering? Who would remember?
The Bush was supposed to be doing something. The slow, but great sap-thoughts moved. The one woman & creature were of import. It would have to brave it's own end and follow them.
((OOC: 15:35, Today: Captain August Galen rolled 4 successes using 6d10 with the White Wolf Exalted system with a target of 7. Dex+Stealth Bush sneakily follows. ))
