Atop Watch Hill
Sweeping into the castle, Prince Deen led the way. The place was eerily empty, with only a few stewards and maids lurking about. "I'm just stopping in to the Tower," he says in passing to the sparse guards manning the gate. "Merlin's with me."

His path is not utterly unimpeded, though, as a duo of young entrepreneurs break off from talking with the head steward when they see Merlin approaching, and move to intercept. "Where are the others?" asks Ocean Soul.

Fire Soul follows up with, "And did you catch the mastermind?"

"How can we help?"

"Following another path to the front young sir and lass."

He smiles, "We think so."

"I would certainly like a thick steak, some fresh veggies steamed and spiced to perfection, garlic mashed potatoes, and a bottle of good chilled wine. Do you think you could make that happen before the prince and I return from the tower?"

Merlin indicates to the Prince that he should give a time frame.

Deen gives a hurried but polite bow to the not-twins. "Just under an hour," he says in response to Merlin's unspoken query.

The duo exchange a glance. "Easily done," says Po, "if that's truly all you need," adds Hun, looking to the prince.

The other teen's stomach growls a bit as Merlin's actual request penetrates his haste and he realizes how hungry he is. "It would be really appreciated, thanks," he says, losing his affected dour demeanor briefly, but not slowing his pace.

"We'll have our things packed and ready to join you on your trip as well, then," says Hun with a slight bow.

"If you need anything up in the tower, just send word back down while we're working on that," adds Po, with just a slight hint of flirtatiousness. Neither of the teen boys seem to notice it, though Deen nods as he continues on.

"Thank you, but we will be traveling by glider, which seats at maximum two." Merlin's gives them his sorry face. After the two turn to leave he and the Prince go up into the tower to get the prince his bloody eye refilled. Merlin observes all things as they go through the elaborate means of entry. There is much to ponder after the prince is done.

Re: Atop Watch Hill
The sands in the tower neither fill nor empty, despite the open archways to the silver desert lit by a green sun outside. The small dunes even smooth and pack beneath Merlin's feet, shifting with a hateful but restrained hiss. Exactly twenty-five minutes of walking - though Deen paced obviously faster around than necessary (and commented as to such) in his impatience - and they stepped into the broad top floor, with its impressively expensive glass or crystal wall, providing a view of miles and miles around the enormous edifice.

Salf, Deen's twin brother, greets them as they arrive, and the duo move to the rotating pedestal that slides around the perimeter of the room to maneuver intricate lenses for better views of the lands below. Each take one of the handles, and twist, wincing as spines lance out with that motion.

The vial of mingled blood that fills is small; the wounds on their hands do not bleed once they release the controls. Each takes the eye-dropper, in turn, and drops the red fluid into one eye. The eye in question turns red where it should be white. Notably, each uses the opposite of the other, and Deen filled the eye that was NOT bloody, before. Had Merlin not been traveling with Deen and seen which eye he filled, he might have thought the Princes were switched.

Returning back down, the sands again hiss and get out of Merlin's way, easing his still-25-minute path. Deen had restrained himself from telling Salf about the upcoming glider trip, which perhaps is why there was no argument over which Prince would actually get to go.

Hun and Po had done well in complying with the dinner request; apparently, the staff heeded them when they said it had been requested by sufficient authority. "You are gliding out with the Prince, Merlin?" confirms Huh. Po adds, "Unless Lady LeSchaye left instruction for us to remain here, we will borrow horses and ride to catch up."

Merlin follows along making his own observations and taking careful mental notes. This tends to play into his reserved and quiet demeanor, but not so much that he seems anti-social.

Merlin compliments the food, should it deserve, and its cook. He also gives Hun and Po a smile and nod for doing the convincing.

"She gave no such orders, but if you fall into mischief she will be vastly displeased not only with you, but likely myself as well. We will have to keep an 'eye' on you."

He gives a wink to the prince.
