Regrouping, answers, and questions
((ooc: This is not closing out the Exquisite Insights thread, but is taking place a few hours later. I just want to get things moving again, so I'm moving the time up to the point where everyone can be involved once more. Please feel free to finish out whatever you like at the pavilion with the Maharishi in the other thread, just remember it's about 3-4 hours "before" the events of this one. My apologies to the Sidereals for the time paradox.))

Some hours later, in the doldrums of any big performance when everything is done but the show hasn't QUITE started yet, K finds herself in the perhaps unfamiliar position of having nothing to do until the performances officially begin. It happens that her sharp eyes for detail pick out the young touts and messengers of Trademeet Dale all converging on Beatrix in the streets to give her some sort of report.

It takes Lady LeSchaye a few moments to organize their multi-voiced calls of their information, but finally, after arranging one spokesman, she gets their findings: "There aren't any Falanians in town for the Festival, ma'am!" "Kinda weird, 'cause the Eastdale Farmers mentioned that they were 'spectin' their cousins from Falan to come visit to do some tradin'." "Yeah, an' I was hopin' to see what a real Earl or Duke looked like!"

It's about this same time that Aya and Merlin manage to make it back to the thicker part of the temporary city grown up around the normally much-smaller Trademeet township, as well. Fire Soul and Ocean Soul have been lurking near Beatrix, knowing that their employer will find the Lady when she returns, though they are attempting to do business and not appear as interested as they are in the circus.

In reply to Segev Stormlord (msg #1):

Merlin is rather tight lipped when he returns. There are just so many people around. However, his facial expressions can easily be read: he is gravely concerned about something.

Her feet are hardly touching the ground, as she breezes in, looking mildly....vexed. Vexed is the word. Not for the reasons people might think, though.

"We need to speak. Privately."

Bea nods thoughtfully on the information brought to her by the touts before paying them handsomely. "Here you are, then. Thank you for the information; that *is* very useful. Do you have any other rumors you've heard regarding Falan?"

Once Merlin and Aya come storming in and Aya makes her pronouncement, Beatrix simply nods, her expression carefully neutral. "Very well. My estate is not far from here. We will go there at once and discuss what you have found. First I will collect K, if you do not object to it; she will likely be interested, and can probably help." And indeed, if no objections are had, she does this very thing!

With Sevastian and Frevrick already in tow, the party makes its way to A Private Place.

(OOC: Woo! We may actually have the whole party together in one place for once! :D )

Re: Regrouping, answers, and questions
A few options present themselves for privacy: there's K's personal chambers amongst her circus folk, there are a few locations that achieve privacy by being out of the way, and there's always the LeSchaye Estate. Hun and Poe take a moment or two to realize that Beatrix and her attaches have started heading off, and hasten to Aya's side once they notice she's back.

"How can we help?"

She glances down, mind's gears turning. "Stay close. We are likely going to need messages run."

K shifts thought the crowed and appears near them. "Oh, I am quite available. I've told my boys I'll be taking care of some important business, and they know how to proceed if we are delayed." She offers her private study if they want something closer, but if they prefer Lady LeSchaye's estate, she promptly leaves with them.

Bea nods to K's offer. "Very well; your study it is." And unless there's objections, they all head in! Right?

In K's study Sevastian, followed by Frevrick, takes up a flanking position behind Lady LeSchaye in order to listen to what their other companions have to say.

Sevastian attempts to lighten the mood by whipping out his jade violin and softly playing a light hearted tune.

Re: Regrouping, answers, and questions
In reply to Beatrix LeSchaye (msg #8):

K's study is a dark room with a very, very high ceiling. The outside is a large caravan wagon with six heavy wheels, and reigns for one or two yedium to pull it. The inner walls are of light pine, darkly stained to match the heavy oak furniture, with deep, thick purple cloth draped for acoustics & appearance. The chairs are all very large, made seemingly for people at least twice the size of her guests, and look almost three times larger than what K needs.

She runs in happily, giggling, and flops into one chair that dwarfs her.
"Come! Come! Sit! I never get guests back here." If people sit in the heavy chairs, some of them are a bit loose, as though they have been used heavily before to hold heavy objects. There are a many claw marks on them, and they smell faintly of oil and incense. There is a scrap of iron on one of the chairs. It is a curved, razor sharp piece that must be the tip of a strange weapon or tool. Perhaps an odd hook.

The acoustics from the wood & fabric placement allows little to no echo, and those with enhanced senses and/or mastery levels of understanding of crafts may deduce the light, soft wood covers walls, floors, and a ceiling fortified with iron sheets. The room is as soundproof as a mortals mastery of carpentry can allow. There are decorative wards draped here and there in a dark purple that is easy to miss with the other drapery, and they seem to have been applied over the years by different thaumaturge practitioners to ward against various entities. Some of them look quite old and in need of mending or replacement soon.

There is a very tall iron door that leads to what can be spied as a large bathroom. The odd room has bare, iron walls and floor with small spots of rust, a polished iron tub, and what looks like a grinding stone for metal work.

Merlin nods, impressed with the place, and goes off to find a perch from which to observe and report whence he is called upon.
