Re: MORRIS' Shed
Roy grimaced slightly as he stepped into the shed. "No need to rush on my account, Ensign..." he answered, with a smile, before turning back to Morris.
"I'm...aware of the situation, and taking steps to address it as precisely and fairly as I can. Part of it, I think, comes from the fact that hunkering down in a bunker runs counter to every survival instinct most of the stem kids have...for them, mobility was life, so when their new families tell them they've got to climb in a hole for safety, they feel like they're being packed up like spam in a can, Sir. The families don't understand and feel like the kids are being rebellious, and the civvie kids think the stem kids are showboating or trying to make them look like they're afraid...and if that's the case, I don't see a good way to resolve the issues altogether." He scowled a little at the thought.
"I'll have to think on that one a while longer, but there may be some acceptable compromises to be made. In the meantime, I'll deal with the more blatant and egregious issues as best I can." He shrugged...it was the best he knew how to do, especially as he could see both sides of the issue.
He cleared his throat slightly, coming back to the topic on his mind. "I wanted to touch base with you about instructions for the troopers on the captured Angel ships. If we had the time, for sure, then I'd say don't worry about it and I'd take a group of our own people and Stoly and go take care of it myself, but we don't know how much time we have, really, and they're already there." While the words spoke of acceptance of the situation, his posture spoke of annoyance and resignation.
"Basically, they need to search for MedTech, and maybe some secondary areas...we didn't have time to make a full sweep of 47 to see if there were more places, so the instructions should probably go to that crew, as well. They're looking for a locked cabinet, about so high, so wide, and so deep," he explained, using his hands to indicate the dimensions. "The contents are fragile, so they need to be careful about it, but if they can't find keys, their best bet is to cut the hinges off the outside and just remove the doors that way. The vials will be full of either silver or blue liquid, and need to be packed carefully for transport...we don't know what skin exposure will do, but every other kind of exposure we've documented has involved extreme physical reactions, and those have all been under controlled circumstances with experienced medical personnel standing by, so they damn well better not dick around with it." He paused for a moment, thinking, and then said, "And feel free to quote me on that one, if you want, just so they know exactly how important it is."
He grinned, then continued, "Contents of said cabinets are to be transported DIRECTLY to the Hermes and placed in Stefi's care. This should all be done with all due haste, since we don't know how long we have before we tangle with the Angels again and we don't want them trying to get transport shuttles through a fighter screen to the Hermes."
