    Besserman laughs, he does  take one more swig  and winces again.

    ..You think that was the whole fleet?.. That was  just  1 section... I tried to sign on but the  ESN  grabbed me, because they were hurting for pilots.

 He    tries to do what GArrat is showing  him, but  his heart really isn't in it.

  Besserman  continues to go along with the Motions, though he does  do them, its pain to see his ehart is not in it.

  we have been hearing  for Months   how the grets Delta  fleet is Kickign  ass, and  they Flash Shadow  and other 'heros' around.. ..gods be damned  action figures?.. But you know what?.. the Demons  are still out there... EDT..is still out there... and , ytou keep finding more    enemies to fight.... and why?... So  the Delta  folks can  try and  chse the Empire  away... sacrifce  1000s of Human lives ..every hour  to protect aliens?..

 ..Shadow  don;t   got anyhting on me?... he's  still a baseborn alley cat..he's  just as bad  as  any EDT  , leavign Bdies  on the docks  and  in the rivers... and now?.. he flies  a fighter, so he's a Hero...

 He  continues to stretch ,..and  Hack?.. he's the cause of all this , You know.. should have  stayed  around Fuji... may  have  gone to Taranaki... in the Zeta  Quad...but he's  flying  all over the  place, casuing   the Empire  and  her  allies to want nothing more, then to wipe out Humans....and?.. they are the Heroes?

   Garrat checked the time.  "Your aunt wasn't attacked because she was connected to your uncle.  It was because she had been raising billions of credits in the name of helping humanity and funneling it strait into the coffers of the EDT and the demons temselves.   I know.  I was there.  She was making people swim across a pool with a leviathan in it.  Only one person had ever been known to survive it.  I think she did so by making her fellow swimmers better targets.  Anyway, your Aunt incouraged people to place wagers on how far these poor kids would make it across.  Now, we have proof that she is attacking inocent ships without provocation or any reason related to the security of earth or humanity."

    "And uh, Your uncle didn't accidentally shoot down lady.   He had orders to.  He was personally given knowledge smuggled off earth by Gi-Fi himself that the central computer on that Hammer was actually a Verian.  A silicone based life form capable of bonding with machinery in it's pupae stage.  Unlike most the people on this shi I have been on hand for the evelopment of this stage of creature and heard the explaination from the mouth of the Queen Verian herself."
    Garrat leaned foreward "Your uncle knew Shades mother was alive before Shadow did and still he killed her, knowingly, and under orders from the EDT to make it look like an accident." 
    Garrat leaned back. "He was a fairly good pilot, your uncle was.   There was no way he could truely make that mistake and hose down the head of the Burien air force.   Lady may have been thought to be a computer but she had proven herself to be sentient for so long that everybody who knew her loved her as a member of our family."  Garrat shakes his head, "I wish I could have done the same.  Any way shadow would literally fly that Hammer through her body.  He was probably closer to her than any woman he had lain with and it tore him to shredds to learn she had been an actuall being that had cared for him all along and wanted so much for him that she begged him to move on to an upgradded ship.  Your Uncle had already been sentenced to the long walk home by the Provost and the the punishment was being executed when a cloaked enemy ship popped in and rescued him.  By the veiw of any military, he became the walking dead.  Shadow just finished the interupted execution."

     He gets up.  "Your not the only one with skeletons in your closet.   I've had my fair share of family members in the military making decisions for their own comfort rather than the good of the fleet.    Ge-Fi has been responsible for the deaths of thousands and poor Commander Si has to call him dad.  We aren't receiving suport from home and have been having to actually fight most of the ships built there because the people with money can get more by secretly siding with the demons.  Money is the fluid, concrete symbol of power and you know what your Shakespear says about power.   

     "Let's get our laps in, I havea lot to do and you have a lot to learn if you can be honest with yourself.  Im not asking you to love shaddow but more of his blood family has been killed than yours in this war and I'm trying to keep you off the dishonored dead list."

  Besserman Get us,  he  nods  slowly, but.. as   an 'after the fact' argument , he says,./.so?..  CAptain Wess.. and His  Daughter.. General Nickerson  and his  people..  assassinated ..but that's ok?... Shadow's fighter gets  shot  down..and  everyone has to pay?

 ..sounds a bit like a double standard, to say the least.

   "Shadows Freind shot down, Shadows family on earth hunted down and killed, covered up as another "Accident", but forensics say otherwise, as I recall only a child survived.  One member sudemly ended up dead on an ESN ship, but unlike youre family, those who were earthside were not involved in the war at all.  Comander Si has had family members targeted, I believe Hack lost some, I don't know.  I care but it's hard to even compare that when we find huge rooms of dead and dying people in the middle of space stations.  Humans and multiple other races as well...if I could waive a magic wand and stop the dying I would.  If I could go up to your Aunt and just tell her that she's making it worse for everyone I would.  I did and was successful with some Hyrians, and couple of Largans, but..."Garrat shakes his head, "She's not in the dark Besserman.  Her money laundering funded humans being shipped off to the demon empire for food. "

  Besserman snorted a disgusted  snort... can any of this be proven?  Out here,   we see Vids of  captured ships.. we are  told they   are EDT  or EVOL..and  Now?  SSN  ships... we see the ...  he waves  an arm at the Hull,..'heroic' Delta Fleet... comign to the rescue?  But  what of all teh  families  who die ebcause of the delta Fleet?... what of those  children whose  parents  died, because Hack  wants  to Rule the Black like a glorified warlord?...

 ..look.. you seem like a god  guy.. but you're  still one of them... lets get this over  with, so I can  go back down and do whatever the  9 hells that irsihman wants me to do... with luck?..I won't be on this ship much longer...

    Garrat gives Besserman a hand up and sets I decent pace, Besserman  will find it easier to run since Garrett has given him proper nutrition and a good warm-up

  The  fellow   jogs a bit trying to keep pace  with Garrat. He chuckles  slightly  as he takes in breathes ,..i hardly think you can call yourself  neutral..      I’ve never known her to be anything but  kind and supportive for her team mates.  Her father however...well I’ve heard her fantasize about what would happen if he was in her sniper scope.   Total waste of ammunition if you ask me.  Besides I don’t think you could keep a person alive that long when using high velocity rounds.

   "One of the quickest ways to screw with an enemy is to not do the expected.  They are used to fighting humans in teams of two.  In the beginning both ladies spent time flying with eachother and also took turns flying with Shadow.  In time they knew how the others fly so well they could predict what the others were thinking.  They trade off targets, back eachother up, combine fire, sometimes it's all the ladies can do to cover shadow when he receives instruction to go after a single target or takes the opportunity to focus on a high priority target.  That and let's face it: EVERYBODY is gunning for him so one person at his back just doesn't make sense."

   Garrat is quiet for a moment as jogging and talking is hard on the lungs. "As for why she hit you, well I imagine you were insulting in some way.  I'd have to look into it.  You tend to be a bit crude in how you deal with and refer to women.  When they are used to being respected and you treat them like they are not as important as you are it makes them feel like you are demeaning them and they feel filthy for just having you talk to them.  That's why the two striper struck you.  He is head over heals in love with Harry.  I mean the worst type of what you earthers call puppy-dog-love, and by what I can tell it's mutual.  You kinda threw mud on the most beautiful thing in his world."

  Besserman shakes his head,..I have seen guys  on MAtterhorn, 'take thier time' with a Lady....when  everyone knew  that Lady was   thinking the same thing?.. then one of them gets  Jumped   by some loose  UEs.. and no one got to do what they wanted... Lets face it.. it not  like any of these  women  are in the same Bracket as My Aunt?.... Even that Commander?...you have to wonder what her price  was..huh?

  Besserman  huffs  a bit,..I want to  climb that Kill List..most pilots   in the fleet who have been around   have   30 or  so Kills..I have ...2... and?.. I want my Own Boat.... I want to be a Captain, and I don't  like how long its  taking... so?  I'll go where  I'll be appreciated...

There is a reason they are easy, they often require you to sacrifice something that is very important.”  Garrat pauses a moment, hesitant to say the next part “That is exactly what happened to your aunt.  Her price was power, and she Was willing to get it at any cost regardless of who she was indebted to  .  The cost was her soul.”  Garrat sees him through another lap and is coming down the last quarter of a lap. “If you ever decide you want to start putting the effort to get where you need to go come see me.  Even if fast tracking were available here it would take a lot more effort than you seem to be willing to put in at this time.  But I know tricks to make you stronger, faster and more capable if your willing to change how you look at things.”

"Gag gift, that is the term I was looking for though I must say the word usage is quite odd. No matter - I took a gamble and will take more as I try and learn more about Roy Spencer and what he likes and does not," she said before stopping with a quite fetching flush to her golden skin.

"Umm...yes, let us fire some more. We have 10 more for the Barret if you don't mind me putting them downrange."

She went prone and assumed a shooting position, tucking the Barret in and checking the sights again before she began to methodically put shots into the target.

Roy gave a low chuckle.  "Well, I didn't cart three boxes of ammo down here to turn around and cart some of it back.  Waste of energy on our part, and waste of time for the QM to have to save half a box of ammo until he got a few more partial boxes and could combine them all again..."

Putting words into action, he reloaded the Beretta, picking a different point on the target and firing the five rounds into it, then reloaded again, and repeated the drill with a different spot on the target.

"That leaves the .338 Lapua...you're my guest for this, feel free to go ahead."

"Thank you, good sir." Teela smiled and checked the Lapua before chambering a round and selecting a spot analogous to the 'head' on the target which she fired five rounds into. The last five went into the target's nethers leaving a hole that would make most males wince.

Roy watched the results of the shots through his rifle scope.  After her final five shots, he drawled, "Interesting target choice...but I'm not sure ballistic castration will stop a Demon...and I'm not even sure if Largrans and Creshians pack anything important in that part of their anatomy."  He gave a sly grin, before adding, "It was a pretty good grouping, though..."

"I'm fairly certain ballistic castration will stop males of any species possessed of those particular bits. They do seem quite...attached to them." She replied, voice full of mischief. "It was a good grouping."
