 the  shuttle ramp came   down, a few civie  transfers came off  followed   By  a red headed   Ensign..  The Chief  at the Bottom of the ramp  held  out his hand  for her  disc.

 Lizzy was excited to finally be aboard the Hermes and meet Commander Si she had heard so much about her from her Father.

 Lizzy walked down her ramp like she was the greatest pilot in the Universe. She looked at the Chief, and pulled out her disc and handed it to the Chief.

Kira watched as Harry left and once she was out of sight turned to Morgan, "Really gotta work on my people skills" she chuckled a bit and moved over to the mech, "It should be ready for the clear coat now"

  The Chief  took the disc,..thank you Ma'am.... he inserted  it in the Vid Board.  handing it back  after a second or two.

 ..That's CAptain Morris... he pointed to the black man with a   cane  and some grey  on his temples..and old style  English  tunic on  with a Sam Browne Belt.

 another  woman with her  Duffle  and     seabag  nodded to her, The LT smiled at her,tears were in her  eyes,..You'll like it  her... Just  pay attention to   your flight leader...

  Billups   entered the shuttle   to  be goign to   the ESN Apollo..

 Lizzy was so excited, but she got her composure, dont act like a rookie little girl you where trained better. She takes her disc back and puts it away. She returns the Chief's salute and says, "Thank you Chief"

 Lizzy notices the woman with the duffle and seabag and figured she was being sent home or transferred with the tears in her eyes. Lizzy nods to the Lt. and says," Thank you Lt. but i plan on being the flight leader. Lizzy knew that might be cocky but she was confident she would make flight leader soon after she proved her effectiveness in the cockpit for any mission she was required to do and of course combat.

 The woman smiled  and  continued into the shuttle   follwoed  by a Civie  family that was transferring.

  Captain Morris  stood   by stoically as he  watched the new  pilot

 Lizzy almost forgot she had to go see Captain Morris, she was distracted by the Lt. and
her over confident comment.
Lizzy walks over to the Captain, she salutes him and says,"Ensign Elizabeth Maris reporting for duty Sir."

  He offered a Hand, Well...  You came  at the right time... we have the New Mantis craft..That Pilot that Just left..has  family on the Apollo so she requested  a transfer... Just so Happens  you were the   new  pilot   with the least seniority..

 ..You got a bit of a break, because you are a transfer.. you  will be getting a ride  ahead of the Hopefuls... Your  Flight leader  is Chief  Fitzsimmons... 

 they walk over to  E  flight.....that   fighter there..136?... will be yours... your Number will be 147.. rules are the  same here.. once you get 5 confirmed kills   you will be an Ace.. and   will be allowed to  apply Nose art to your Fighter

 he leaded  her throught he flight lines,..This  is  B Flight..Th LC's   Flight..his aircraft is   19....anyone who has a Number  24 or below, was here  when  we first cast off from earth.. we changed the Numbering system so every new  pilot gets   the 'new  number'..just to give the persepctive

 Lizzy follows the Captain and listens intently to what he is telling her.
She was excited to fly the new Mantis craft, and when she saw her fighter she was very happy to finally have a fighter of her own and she guessed number 147 would be her new lucky number or maybe the number of kills she will get, she laughed inside at that. Flight leader was Chief Fitzsimmons, good she would have to introduce herself as soon as possible.

 When they headed to Flight B she was excited to meet the pilots, and Harry looked like she could handle herself plus she had nose art so at least 5 kills, very good.
 Lizzy will smile at Harry put out her hand and say," Hello Ensign Lynch I guess you like Harry, it is a pleasure to meet you and be a part of the flight team on the Hermes."

Retrieving a tin of clear coat from the QM's stores Harry would return to her fighter and after checking that the paint was indeed dry would begin to carefully apply the first layer. It was as she was doing this, with the sound of The Girl all the Bad guys want quietly playing  in the background from her comms unit, that Captain Morris would come and introduce a new pilot to her.

After carefully balancing her brush across the top of the tin she would turn around to find a short red headed girl with a rather impressive bust standing before her "Well only my mother calls me Harriet" she replied in a posh sounding English accent, smiling as she held out her hand for Lizzy to shake "It's a pleasure to meet you love, you know you're lucky to arrive when you did, the LC has taken the rest of the new recruits on a twelve mile run through the tunnels in full kit" she said in a tone of voice that more than implied that she was glad to have avoided that particular exercise.

 Morris  smiled,she's a transfer.. she  is 6 months  ahead of the Hopefuls... though I'm sue next time  the LC has  the   pilots  work  out..she'll be included...

 he walked  up the Line  to check  Shadow's  fighter  to  see if Arnie  had   the   nose art finished, giving the two  pilots   some time to chat.

 Lizzy smiles at Harry, shakes her hand, Lizzy does notice Harry did check out her large bust and says," Yes i guess i got lucky but i don't mind a good run every now and then, i just have to wear the right bra." She smiles and chuckles a little, if you listen carefully a slight Bostonian accent still left in Lizzy's voice.

 Lizzy hopes she didnt go to far with meeting Harry for the first time and then adds," It is a pleasure to meet you Harry, I hope in the future we get a chance to fly together. I am very new here as you can tell maybe sometime you could show me around if that is something you wouldn't mind doing Harry?"

when he thinks the   pilots  are   finished   he'll politely  clear his throat.....I will set up your   quarters in a bit... If you want to  leave your Bags   By my shed, I will have an orderly take htem up to the Officers  Dec?...  You   can follow the   arrows  to the Lift and  I would suggest   to stop at the Rec dec... gets  some  food  and drink, meet somemof the m others..

 He   Truned  and waved to a Mexican  woman  with SEC  uniform on....This  is  Corporal  MAria Siguenza..she  will  help introduce you to the LC..if he isn't there yet, he should be there so...i should,think... if you have  questions,  COM me  or   come to my Shed...

Legs feeling like Jello she returned to work.  "I'm back.  Ran with Shadow and the others in the tunnel...all 12 miles" she gave a smile and thumbs up then returned to her duties.  The other mechs working with her on the Diamond had repaired a few more larger pieces.  She rechecked the wiring she already had done.  once that was done she began on the inside wiring, especially the cockpits flight controls.  At the moment it was good...as long as forward was the only direction one wanted to go.

”Can’t say I’ve ever had that problem myself” Harry replied with a nervous laugh as she self-consciously crossed her arms across a bust that only just avoided being described as flat chested ”...besides which I prefer to do my running on a track at my own pace rather than the march of death Shadow is putting the rooks through” she added with a far more natural laugh than the one before.

With her quarters still needing to be arranged Captain Morris would suggest that Lizzy went to the Rec Dec so as to meet some of the others with getting Maria to show her the way. Though not before Lizzy got the chance to ask if Harry could show her around sometime ”sure I could show you around sometime, I’ve got this to finish up but I’ll be up on the Rec Dec once I’ve finished” she said waving a hand at her fighters nose art to show what she was currently doing.

After bidding Lizzy farewell as Maria led the way to the rec dec, Harry would continue to apply the clear coat to her nose art. Once she had finished doing this she would collect Hamlet and comms unit and head for the rec dec once all of her paint supplies were safely back in the QM’s store.

 Lizzy could tell Harry was a little self conscious of her chest, but Lizzy couldn't help checking out Harry.Lizzy has always been
Open to both sexes."Yes I also enjoy running at my on pace but i do like running with others to test how well I am doing, love to run with you sometime Harry." Lizzy then realized she was kind of hitting on Harry and she had no clue if she was interested in woman or had a boyfriend or girlfriend. She decided to leave it there for now and put the ball in Harry's court .
  Maria motioned for Lizzy to head to the Rec Dec to meet LC Shadow, before she leaves she will say to Harry.
Great Harry can't wait, meet up with you later.

Nikki was glad to sit, at least for a bit.  She knew after such a long run that sitting was not good on the joints so she did make sure to keep moving as well to prevent her legs from seizing up.  She continued working her shift, and minus a few needed parts and panels she actually got quite a bit done.  She would continue tomorrow as well and she'd be flight worthy and possibly combat ready.  She checked in with Stoly and Rivets making sure the parts needed would be ready from the foundry and what she'd work on the next day.  She also thanked Rivets for allowing her to go run with Shadow,  she did need to work off some of those 'extra calories from Fuji.  For now it was time to pick Haley up from school.  Get a quick shower and relax a bit on the Rec Dec.

 a few of the Pilots     Lana Lake  and   Munuez  were   working on thier  aircraft.

 Steele  tok the time  to touch up his  nose art,  count the   Kill  decals  under his name.

  Howe  hand the    hatch opened  on the  Gatling Cannon and  was  teshign the    movement of the  barrels  to make sure they  were smooth.

  Hanger dec  Crew  where  painting  aircraft  with the  'right  colors'... when  all would be  done, the only thing one  could    do to  tell one from another  were the  Giant Numbers on the  Tail fins.... tops surface of the   left wing.. and   bottom surface of the   right wing.

 and the Nose  art, for aces...one  , could tell those who have been around, By the  Kill  Decals under the cockpit on the port side.. Small squares  with the Face of a 'cartoon' Demon..Largan..Creshian   or Avain...there were a few 'Vampi'  cartoons  as well   as  three   squares.. a Black square  with an E.. for EDT or Evol… a Red Square with an H  for ehad  Hunters and  Green  squares  with an 'X'... those  stood for all other  Enemies..Aqra..Nivar, Hyrian. ect.. the  lines of  Kills made for Colorful displays..many Pics for the eyars were taken  with a Piltos  smiling at  as he  or she  crouched  on the wing of   the aircraft  with the Kills displayed  proudly.

With her boyfriend busy and her good luck charm giving her the cold shoulder Harry would throw herself into her work. Like Howe she would open up the various panels that concealed the large 37mm Gatling cannon and check that the barrel was rotating smoothly and that the belt feed mechanism was working correctly, with her making any adjustments that were required in order to get them working at peak performance. She would also ambush one of the many overworked ground crew and get them to help her adjust the safety margins installed by the factory with a diagnostics unit so that she could get her guns to cycle up just that little bit faster or eek out that extra revolution per second on her gun that could mean the difference between her killing her target or it killing her. As far as she was concerned the warranty could go to hell!

   Guns  were spinning..  hatches   creaked opened or  banged shut..the smell of  ESN  heat tempered paint wafted   through the Dec  as the exhaust   puled the  fumes into The Black.

   Dixie    came  down she  asked  the  Crew if the Belts  wee loaded and  went to check the Magazine .. making sure the belts   were  loaded  so that they uncoiled  correctly.

   Moore, one of the  Hopefuls was  limping around after his tunnel run.. Foster   was  under his   Mantis with  his crew chief  as the chief  was explaining the Undercarriage plates , and  what   was protected  and how think the plates were,

 MAsterchief    Fitzsimmons, with his   new  stockers  was    checking on his survival gear   and   wiping down the greasegun he  had in the  storage  compartment a box of rations , 'canned water' and two grenasdes. in a  small pack that had a   thermal blanket.

With the adjustments made to her weaponry so that they would be as fast and accurate as she could physically make them without the risk of major damage, Harry would run through her survival kit, making sure that the pair of magazines she had for her SMG were both fully loaded and securely taped together before then moving on to check that her ration packs were still in date. She kind of hoped that she would never be in a position where she would require the rations, bedroll and blanket but it was better to be safe than sorry. Come to think of it she'd only ever used the SMG once; to repel boarders from the hangar dec, but all the same she made sure the weapon was clean and properly oiled should ever need to use it.

Once everything had been checked to her satisfaction, Harry would make herself comfortable on the floor and hand load a set of belts for her cannon. It wasn't that she didn't trust the ground crew and armourers to do there job properly but rather the fact that when it was your ass on the line you wanted to personally know that the job had been done to perfection.

  Abby   came   down the flight light.. walkign  stiffly, she had a  soda in her  Hand.

  ..Bloody Big Row goin' on?...  all them German  folks beat up.. then, I'm comin' down to see  me Bird?  and that deamon  is  haling  a Screamign German to the Ellevators ,  The  Bloody  Admiral went down with him!.. then.. I see;s the line   for them.. all patched   up an' Bloody Zip Tied..cept  for  3  on Hover  carts..  Bunch of SEC  with them  too, they were.  like a  bloody Mimners  day march...

Looking up from the belt of ammunition currently resting within her lap Harry would listen as her sister told her what was currently happening to the Germans Kommando's that had recently joined them with the fact that they were zip tied and the Admiral was present leading her to suspect that she wouldn't be seeing them again any time soon...if at all "Sounds like the Admiral's about to play bad cop worse cop with them...I hope you weren't attached to any of them" she said in a grim voice as she pushed another round into the belt.

It wasn't the first time that Harry had disagreed with the Admiral's methods, but with no further information as to why he was doing what he was doing she wasn't about to risk her neck trying to save them...besides which the fate of the German's was none of her concern "Would you like me to give you a hand setting up your ride?" Harry asked, once again looking up from the ammunition belt to her sister. If Abby was happy for her to help then she'd be more than happy to do so, after all if the benefit of her experience meant she stayed alive out there then it was time worth spending.

 Lizzy entered the Hanger Deck and headed for her fighter, her new Mantis fighter. Lizzy waved at Harry and Abby as she walked buy them, " Hi guys, I need to check my ride." Lizzy then, like she was on a mission made her way  to her fighter.

 Lizzy would start checking everything on her fighter, her father taught her well on what she needed to check. One thing she checks is what is in her emergency pack, she might need to get a few more things to add to it.

    With  a sl.ight  Smile and nod,..they didn't let us load  our  own Belts ..they said that's what the armorers  and Grounds  Crew  were   for... I heard Vet Pilots  talking  about loadin' yer  own?  Never  thought i'd  be  doin' it  Meself..

 She   waves to Lizzy,..who's  that then?  She isn't one  of me own group....

 The  Younger sister looks at ther  aircraft.. the    ESN  Blue, drab to not  reflect light.. with clear coat on to  buffer it.

 ..Bloody aircraft looks naked.. since you all have the Nose  art... The   Vampire Guy  doesn't  have any yet..but he  has them stickers that says  he's allowed?

 Howe's  Crew  Chief   Greets  Lizzy,..good afternoon, Ma'am.. I'm Chief West.. we have two teams  of  people  for  each flight... that  averages  to  three aircraft a person.. so we  keep busy,  especially before and after  Jump Offs .  We just finished   Your Paint and  your  Numbers ..we're  checkign the  links to the Pulse  weapons now..
