She would hesitate for the briefest of moments before stepping into Will’s waiting arms ”all the same I’d rather you didn’t get yourself in trouble over me” she sniffed not entirely sure that she believed him on that particular point. When asked if she would like to go and get something to eat Harry would meekly nod her head, not really wanting to interact with anyone else but knowing that a hot meal would do her the world of good.

Still slightly on the angry side Mortica checked her gear, made sure the rifle was safe and put it in the rack. She turned in the grenades and went to her desk and terminal.

"I'm at my terminal Beth. If you want to see me things to work on I'm here."

  Beth  nodded,..we have  three packettes  of  data  from a  Vampic  transpot thatw as  siezed   yeasrter  day, but the   Felrites....   some thig big is being  planned for it...But the Admiral wasnts  to packettes  searched  for  hidden info..or?..any info..out  translations  are   up to  pare yet... they will be  as soon as the  Mulls adjust  chips  to take in mor e   Vampic  info

"All right. Send them to me and I'll get to work on them," Mortica replied. "I'll also take a look at any translation programmes being worked on if you want--making sure they're accurate and that sort of thing."

After a few minutes Zob arrived down at the sec office after making a quick pit stop at the QM shed to pick up a DT5 for Jax he then looked around, "So whats on the agenda for today?" he asked as he got settled in by his locker.

Roy arrived a few moments after Zobaich, far enough behind to miss the question.  "Where do we stand on analyzing all the info on the Germans and McNiel?" he asked Beth.

  Beth   was leaning back in her chair.....not  Much... every thing  that came  and went to them.. started or  ended in the asteroid   Field.

 Lyri nods.....they are  still making run from there...  they have even managed to get a Few Hillite  Blockade  runners  in there..Admiral ha s something  in his ehad  though.. he  has  almost invited   EDT folks   to try and Get in there...alot of  them make it.. we lost a  few corvettes  and sloops  , who got too  close to teh  Asteroids...

 ..I sent the Blockade  forces. some schemes  for   Buoys , to track the    EDT  that are goign in  or   out.. but  I can't  get much  deeper  then the  2nd layer..even tried  to  get Vids  of the    flashes...on the   'guide  rocks' ?... Its Like  they change them.... She had her  own   Citadel  there..

Zob listened to the exchange going on he wasn't sure what to think of it but he was gonna leave that to the higher ups to deal with the situation instead he approached Jax, "Hey i got you something" he then handed him the DT5.

 Jax looked at the weapon...wow!.that's  really great!I have  to work on the range with this!... Thank you!

 Lyri smiled  at  Zob a  bit  and went  back to work

Mortica listened and cocked her head to the side as she realized what she was listening to wasn't boring radio chatter but a coded message. Once that realization hit it didn't take long for her to decipher it. "Oh hell..."

She stands up and turns towards Beth and Roy. "That's not just comm traffic--it's a code. There's a Vampic Hunter Squadron headed to Bura right now, moving dark and silent."

  Beth Looked up at Mortica.... Lyri Looked at   Roy...

  ..what do  Hunter Squadrons  do.....  her   eyes  looked  at the VAmpic,,he rhand s hovered over the  board, the answer  would   tell her what she need to   type.

“It may be four destroyers, maybe corvettes but they’ll destroy anything in the air then launch shuttles to land troops under fighter screen. They’ll hunt and try and take as many prisoners as they can for slaves, food, or breeding. Anyone they can’t capture will be killed. Make no mistake, those troops in this Hunter Squadron are merciless.”

Zob turned around as he heard Mortica speak of Vampic hunter squads a grin began to form on his face and to think this day had the potential of being boring, "Finally a challenge!" he chuckled as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

  Beth Looks at Roy,..Get your assault  troops  ready.. I  COM Text the Admiral, He's On the Bridge  now..

 Lyri    went to her Locker to make sure her  sniper  rifle  was   ready, and her  Gresegun back  up.. she frowned at the carbine.....Don't know whether to take  the CArbine    for back up..or the greasegun

 Jax  Got  excited    and  went to ( his very own!)  Locker  to  get his  armor.

Zob went to his locker and grabbed his heavy assault boarding armor and started putting it on, "I would take the Greasegun Lyri... got a spare Largarn sniper rifle in here if anyone needs it" he said offhandedly as he took out the demon heavy pulse gun that Mortica let him use and set it down on the table with a loud thud anyone would think he maybe overcompensating for something but truly that was not the case.

Zob then returned grabbed his coffee and took another sip, "Its a bad day to be a Vampic... no offense intended Mortica"

“None taken. I’ll be right with you taking them out. They had their chance to change and refused so they’ll get no mercy from me,” Mortica said as she began to get her gear out and ready.

    Lyri  looks   over her shoulder.....well we have time, that's  for sure... all our shuttles   are on exercises...

 Beth   looked up....Fleet shifted   3  degrees  to  port.... if they are hunting  easy prey, they will run.... if they are  hit and running?..who  knows?.... YOu'd  have to  be someone like the Admiral to try and Hit  and  Run a fleet this size..

Roy glanced over at Beth.  "Do those satellite screens we put out cover us here?  And do they affect Vampics?"  He remembered the ambushed pod that Shadow had launched, and shook his head.  "Forget the second question.  But if our ships are hidden from Vampic scans,  part of the Fleet should curl around behind them and cut them off...Vamp8cs will think twice about sending out raiding groups if none of them ever make it back..."

He keyed his comm, on the Security channel.  "All off-duty personnel, prepare for boarding actions.  We have an inbound Vampic group, thinking they can raid behind the lines...time to show them they're wrong."

   with in seconds.. the  COM  board  lit up Green for all the   Troopers, both SEC  and Assault, with " already Dones"

 ..the  Fleet  is like Jonny Appleseed   with those  Buoys... can't see  how you can swing a dead wort , without hitting one.

 MAria    was one of the first in, she  went  right to her locker for her Light boarding Armor.

 ..Now  hear this!..... possible   Vampic  raiding    group in the Area.... shouldn't  be too much trouble,  we 'll see hom many we  can  catch... They know the  Rules Of Engagement.... I won't be hailing them...

 Shoey came  in with his Gum chewing grin,..Admiral   really don't like them, does he?

Mortica was strapping on her medium combat armour and checking her gear when a thought occurred to her-something based on her knowledge of other Hunter Squadrons.

"Beth, Roy-these squadrons have been known to travel in two groups. One to draw off anyone who becomes aware of their presence and another sitting in the black, no emissions but ready to power up and head for their objective if the defenders give chase. I would say it's 50/50 that that's the situation we'll find if the squad we go after turns tail and runs. We may want to detail some ships and have them watching for such an eventuality. If that's the case the second Hunter Squadron will be composed of larger ship classes. Possibly cruisers with a larger fighter screen and far more troops than the bait ships."

  Beth  smiels a bit,..you see the  sailing formation  we have?.. I'm gonna  say we have  more  ships in  this  fleet, that  Vampra  has  in its  whole   section of the Galaxy...

  Lyri  smiles a  bit  as she  checks  her straps......and , the Herme s wing of   fighters is already deployed.... sitting on the one planet they might try to  use  for a base..

"They won't use Bura as a base. This is a hit-and-run strike to destroy assets, get captives, and sow terror. They'll move in hard and fast, deploy, and be gone very quickly. Not saying we can't stop them but just be aware that they aren't going to stick around for very long. The crews assigned to these squadrons are seasoned and elite and have been running these ops for centuries. They work as one and will be...hmm...you humans say 'tough nuts to break.' Mortica said as she strapped on grenades and added extra magazines to her armour.

 Supe came In he hand Heavy armor  on,..most of the    Scots  and assualt  troops are on the  Hanger Dec.. the olny aircraft left  are a  couple  torpedo craft?

  Hemlsy came  in  ready to go a demo pack  on his  side.

Zob would strap on the Vampic RPG pistol when they were ready to move out he then turned to Mortica, "I hope so cause if they die quickly I'm gonna be very disappointed" Zob was once part of the empires elite hunter killer squads and after fighting battles with them for millennia he was quite confident in his ability, "Centuries? Dang it Mortica now you got me all feeling old!"

Roy grinned a little at Mortica's warning.  "They're going to need more than a squadron if they intend to do much more than die...especially if Bornberry's ship is anywhere near any incoming ships.  Admiral Hack is ruthless, and she makes him look like a pacifist.  But I do appreciate the heads up.  It's standard protocol for the picket ships to keep eyes open for anyone trying to sneak a backdoor attack on us...it's something we would do, and have done, so it's a tactic we watch for.  It's good to know that there's a good chance we'll see it, though..."
