Garrats Eyes go flat. "Are there any more members of the crew wandering the ship?"

  Beth  shakes her  head.....three  shuttle folks.. we think they may be dupes..hard to tell so far.... This   2  ..they are  supposed to be  Lights Out..   she giggled.

 thier    Commander  and   his sidekick are up in the   Mess?... so's   Lyri. the SM  , Shadow..Larry..Nagy and  Brooks..and the board.

   "Rec dec?  Give me thei images and I'll see to it they get back here."  He knocks on Zobs door.

Zob's sighs just as he thought this was a sabotage mission, "Beth we have a situation Commander Green is here to try and abduct Commander Si, the other shuttle that was blown up was gonna be used to destroy the hanger dec to keep us from going to The Pit" he relays the information to her.

Zob notices Garrat, "Check on that shuttle Garrat, i'm a little busy in here at the moment"

Zob then turns to them, "Now i want you to tell me everything about The Pit and how it operates"

  ..The Pit?... well  its  a decent  sized Planet... we take  a NArrow , but  elongated   turn around the Nivarian  Star...Hard to even  find us sometimes..Nivar  trades with us sometimes, in the 'summer  months"..they  don't cone close in the winter.... The winter..the Empire takes over the surface.. they have a good  6 months  to raid from there.. we can't really stop them.. we don't have any ships,  except a few  Privateer vessels and transports....

 ..they call it The Pit..because   , that 6 months of winter is damn Cold.. snow,,ice..winds... so we live under ground, we have  farms  and such down there.. and   Cities  that  match the Cities  above?..except the  South Pole?  that's Empire  territory.. they  pay   1 million creds a month to  keep that....that's where thier  shipments  cone.... to the Demons.. and the Vampic...even in the   'good month".... we leave them alone. they leave us alone... sometimes people go up to visit..poke around.. nom one sees them again.

Zob took a few more notes, "So what kind of shipments to the south pole are being made? Just the usual food supplies, Slaves, weapons and who is receiving these funds?" Zob was being a bit more civil but he wasn't gonna let anyone of these guys off the hook they were still in trouble for aiding the empire and trying to sabotage the Hermes so its likely they would be taking the long walk home anyways.

 The Top Gunner nodded,we got  the normal stuff..slaves.. ammo..food  .. sometines weapons fro  arming EDT if they  got a new batch in?

 ,,things were getting  rough though..Etna's    shipments were doing goon but the Main shipping  guy got wasted  and his    set up blown to  the 9 hells.....Matterhorn  won't have anything  Coming for a good long timne, the Bugs  ruined that polace... Everest is  trinkled a bit..and  we can't get nothing from Fuji?....  the other   Caeeier stations, are feeding  Olympus.

Zob nodded and took more notes, "Thank for being cooperative by the way, How big is the empire presence and EDT forces in the pit especially in the south pole region of the planet and who is in charge?"

   "Sure thing,"  Garrat offers Zob the bokken  [10 LB wooden oractice sword.]  "It's kinder to the staff if you keep the bleeding internal."  He heads to the hangar deck.

  we  Don't know?  there ae Cap ships coming and  going, and the Vampics?  they seem to  be making the demons  tow the  line here... and the Demons are doing it?.. don't know why? Ive seen   demons and VAmpics   have  fights on the surface over   parkign apces!..Demons  can snap them in half... but,  whatever  happens off planet... the Demons  don;'t seem tom much in a hurry  to  stand up to them

Zob continued, "It seems to me that the Demons and Vampics don't exactly get along but rather tolerate each other in a loose agreement of sorts... interesting... now but you didn't answer my question though who is receiving the million credits a month from the empire on your side?"

  Both Gunners  laugh a bit, sure the 9 hells, not us!   I guess the  Council ?... the Money is used to  Build, and   install defenses ....help clean up  the water..stuff  like that?..least ..that's what the   Vids  tell us?

Zob held the wooden sword in his hand, "How much has your situation actually improved in the pit based off of your own experience" it sounded like the empire was using the south pole as forward command base to strike out at certain ESN affiliated places would also explain a lot of the slave trading going on in the Stem back on Etna.

 The Top Gunner    sat down in a   car, he used his  finger  to 'draw' on the table.

..miners  started the place..it was Winter then?..from what i know..som 100 eyars ago..Demons were a pain..attackign shippign and all that.. but the ESN had this  Carierstations..and they were all being Built at once..like  Mushrooms in The Pit.... anyway.. we started out.. a  Cap ship now  and then to help.. then they rotated  out..differant races...  but then a small battle broke out, about the tie the ESN left the Sol system..and  the AP  couln't  affrod to send big ships here....


  yeah..so..winter came and  the people went  downstairs... find out..Empire's landing?  soe shots were fired.. and then they had  an accord... we leave them alone in the winter.. they give   the Money to the council to help make the  Colony grow?... I mean..there has to be  500,000..maybe more  people who  ..AREN'T ..empire.  The  the Vampic   came  around..and the Empire  was  fighting with them..until about  20 years ago..then they seem to get all nice?.. some say they share slave  shipments and stuff..and that they   both use the South pole...

  The  Top Gunner looks at Zob,..but yeah?  things are better.... Med tech has grown.... we get soe of those seeds from Bura  and  even those  , Melon Tres  from the Delta Colonies....they  go to sleep in the  winter, but  they  grow like crazy in the  spring  and summer... all that   water   from ice and snow..

  the  Door  Hisses  Open..   Evie  is all  But  tossed in By Hennings....   Lyri, who didn't  trust Shadow with Green,    Pushed him in the Office... the rest  Filed in.

   LArry came in  with a  thumping TAil.  Grgor  saw im and stood up  and Hissed.. Larry Nudged him over   with his   snout..then    rubbed  his chest  and Belly with  it   as the  little Larg..Burbled    and hung onto  LArry's nose.

  Beth saw  them cone in.....Zob is talkign to  two Shuttle crew.... Mortica  has   another  one.. those two bastards in there   tried to beat on Jax   and take his weapon... Jax peppered    the first guys  eyes..Zob  broke the seco9nd  guys  arm when he  beat on Jax....

 The Kid Looked at Roy,..I didn't give up my weapon, SM..

 Stefi waved to the Med  tech.. Nagy and   Brooks  went with them while they checked on the   two in teh Intel Cell

  Beth loked  at   Si's   unifrm.....ma'am.. your  BAck's   bleeding

  MAria  opened   the   First aid     locker  and  Pulled out Plast . She took off her  Tunic,a nd the  rolled up the back of her shirt..

..It is long.. but  not  deep... we can plast..of  foam and plast?

 ..plast is  good.. it was an angel blade...

Zob then finished taking notes and he tightened his grip on the wooden sword, "Now you mentioned before the empire pays you in more than credits for the sale of children what are you getting out of it?"

  they look at  each other, the Top  Gunner  shrugs,..just like you guys.. we get our  Pay..the Milita .. the empoire helps  with   defesnes on the surface..  we have  so 50 AA guns up there now..once upon a time there were 5.....there are nasty lookign  fighters in the hangers?.. but.. i don't think any of our   pilots get to fly them..most of them are   EDT wearing  red Uniforms... but they seem to be pretty bad asses?.. they almost always coe back..maybe  missing one or two

Zob got everything out of the shuttle pilots he wanted to ask, "Well you two im gonna be honest its not looking very good for you... but its not up to me to decide your fate so take some comfort in that" with that he left the room and locked it up tight behind him before returning out to Beth and apparently a lot of others.

"That went rather well all things considered here is my report" Zob then gave the notes to Beth containing all that he discovered in the interrogation.

  Si and Hack Listened   HAck and hennings   turning his GAze  to  Green and Woods  more then once.

 well..Mr  Zob?  that  sounds  about  right... from what i understand, the shuttle  crew was , more or less , hijacked.

 Shadow  leaded  on the  wall  watching Green.

 Shade   was   working with Beth on soe of the   finer feeds, her   'sniffer' found.

 ..So?... since you'er  gonna be dead soon?... what's the story   with You and the Commander..

 Si Looked at   Shadow  in surprise...

  HAck just covered his eyes.

 Green looked at Si, who had a flushed face.we were supposed to get MArried, until HAck showed up in San Diego and  took her for a ride  in a HAmmer.. then she broke it off..

 Morris, rivets, Bale, Shadow  , Beth,  and Shade  looked up..Shade let out a slow  whistle...

 ..ahhh?.. I see , and what better  way to  win your  true Love back , then to stab her with a  steak knife, put her  in a choke hold, with a Blade in her back...and threaten to abduct her...

  He looked at   Beth,see that?.. all that charminingnss i sued.. and   I could have   just  used my throwing knives..

 beth Giggled,..you wouldn't have to   abduct anyone

  Hack  just snorted and shook his head.. I want the two whop beat on   our recruit  questioned..then  we'll  finish up  with questioning these two.

Zob nodded, "It sounds to me that the empire is using the south pole region of The Pit as a rather large forward command post, they talked about red uniformed EDT in advanced fighters as well as Vampics..." he said to Hack.

Zob then turned to Woods and Green, "So one of you tell me, what happened to the crews Co pilot that never showed up?"

  Evie looked at Zob, then  at Hack,..they great  Admiral HAck..denfer of earth and the   APF...and you have your Own Pet Demon?

Zob sighed and took the wooden sword in his hand and smashed it across her right knee cap he wasn't fond of being called a pet, "Answer the question girl... and do be quick about it"

  The  woman Looked aroubnd the  room, she didn't see any  faces  of Kindness..except the Big  Larg playing with the little one.

  ..the..Co-Pilot  was eliminated, because  she did not  want to  go along on the Mission..she knew about it.. so....

Zob smiled evilly he found some sick pleasure in it, "See was that really so difficult?" he then readied another question for her, "Now i want you to tell everything you know about the south pole region of the planet that the empire inhabits"

Mortica smiled and there was nothing of comfort or humour in it. It was vicious and spoke of a certain cruel pleasure at what was to come. She grabbed the pilot by the throat and dragged him into the room and threw him against the wall before she leapt atop him and took him to the ground. She smiled again so he could see her fangs. "You're going to tell me everything."

The lights flashed off of her fangs as she plunged them into his throat and began to drink, stopping once enough of her saliva had entered his bloodstream to weaken his resolve and ability to resist.

She smacked him lightly on the cheek. "What do the Vampic do for the children sent to them? How do they pay you if not in credits?" She asked in a sensuous purr, drawing his gaze and holding it with her own red eyes.
