decently nice day here, pollen and mold spores are off the chart so breathing isnt an available feature today. Supposed to be very stormy here wednesday and thursday. But I'll miss most of that since tomorrow I fly to DC

I would likely die of an allergic reaction if I did that. I take as close to prescription strength allergy pills daily, and most of the year they work. In the spring however the volume of allergens just overwhelms any benefit of the medication.

Posting is going to be EXTREMELY sporadic for me over the next few days...I may be able to post some stuff at work, depending on how things are going there and what additional projects they throw at me.  I will, hopefully, have all the lighting stuff for our performance space taken care of tomorrow.  I also need to check stage lights in our pavilions...the park hosts a couple of major dance competitions (if you're into children's clogging...) every spring and that weekend is coming up FAST...

On top of that, I'm doubling up on rehearsals between dress rehearsals for Phantom of the Opera and rehearsals for Much Ado About Nothing...I made it to about half an hour of the latter tonight, because they were doing a run-through of the second 'act' (Shakespeare wrote it in five acts, we're basically presenting it as two, but the 'half' of the show after intermission is MUCH shorter than the first half...), then turned around and ran back to the Phantom rehearsal for notes after the runthrough tonight.  I lucked out...one of the volunteers helping with makeup for the show is a former student of the school that's producing it, and is definitely gung-ho for making stuff work...she is, thus far, the most reliable of the four volunteers (she was late for one optional presentation I did on makeup for the show, and has otherwise been there every time I said I needed someone to help, and been much more timely than anyone else that's helping.)  Guess that counterbalances the fact that my niece offered to style the wigs for them and then apparently never got in touch to get details about which wigs, when they needed to be done, how many of them, etc, and that another friend of mine offered to be wig crew for the show, and has thus far not even responded to me asking her to send her phone number so the director could get her up to speed on what needed doing...

The makeup side of things is going fairly well, despite the hit-or-miss assistance of the volunteers (ironic that the two of us that are doing the most work don't even have kids, much less kids in the show), the wig side of things has a lot of people frustrated (we had a wig person lined up, we thought, and then she bailed on us about a month or so ago...)  And Much Ado is going great...I've got one or two lines that I still just can't quite get locked into my mind...one or two word choices that are just foreign enough to me that they feel really awkward, but I feel like I've got it just on the verge of being locked in solid.  And the rest of the cast is freakin' brilliant (even the few that have never done anything Shakespearean before).  It's going to be a really fun show...and definitely worth all the agony I'm putting myself through for the next couple of weeks.

But, yeah...if I seem to be taking extra-long to respond, I just literally don't have time to sit down and type out a response.  It'll be like that for a couple of weeks, then a little more normal for a couple of weeks, and then really crazy-busy again for a couple of weeks...and then we're into the summer and I can settle down a little and enjoy my hobbies again...*laugh*

Hmm not so much a no no than I haven’t got any pointers for you at the moment. Just remember to read / skim all of the active threads in case something relevant to your character comes up such as a comms message

In reply to Anita Zellum (msg # 20):

Yeah, it's kind of a 'no news is good news' scenario.  You're playing a character that is vastly different than anyone else has chosen...and while I've got a wealth of TV, film, and literary references for Marine snipers/sergeants, there is comparatively little to look at and say, "9h, yeah...that's actually pretty common behavior for embedded media personnel..." We're all learning it as you post it,  and that makes giving feedback challenging, since we don't really know how such a character could be improved.

A lot of it kind of hinges on how much free reign Anita has. Can she just film and interview who and what she wants? Or is there an Editor somewhere telling her what kind of story they want her to pursue?

So far so good from what I've seen. You can always ask for pointers and people will respond but between being really active posters and busy IRL (Hi Roy!) we may take a short time to respond or need a boot to the head to remind us that, "Hey! There's a wild question out there! Let's go get it!"

;)

Actually a yes yes, though circumstances usually require asking the person your playing opposite.  We are still trying to sink our teeth into both you as a character and your job.

However this is down time and these are people your going to be working with.  Personally, I'd be Getting to know who is going to be covering your ass when your going to be covering the combat situations and training to come out of it alive might be wise or you might end up like the reporter on starship troopers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_EouNtFjlU

That said, this is an interaction based game, that's why it's semi freeform. What you do in your off time might be more important in the long run and it gives you time to get your feet wet on the posting.

On the other hand having go to files on all of the people you'll be hitting the field with could help you as a reporter.

Good luck, we will look foreward to some good roleplaying with you.
