Will   Smiled at Lizzy....he  took a  forkfull of  pasta and  sipped his shake. He didn't igno9re, nor  greet Izzy, he just went  back to his   pasta.

 When Harry spoke and Looked at Him, Will just gave a Non committal shrug and shipped his Milkshake.

 The  waitresses ( including Sneak who got up to help after Jax and Roll and Gregor  sat down.) began to walk about teh  Rec Dec with Trays of   whiskey...Vodka or water, shots.

 Shadow took a Vodka, and the piltos he had  assemble   took  either whiskey or Vodka.

 Shade  took a  water., as did  Jax  and Roll..most folks leaned to  the hard stuff.

 We had a Bad  day to day.... and won.... That means   our friends, shipmate and Fleetmates, didn't  die for nothing. Looking around  the Dec, it seems like  he sees  everyone,

 we do not make this Toast...nor  have this party, to mourn of  people..instead... this is   to honor them, and celebrate them....

 He raises his glass into the air,FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE US.....

She had dropped singing and playing for the toast.  She let Haley join in as well, both taking water.  "Don't wait for us!" she stated

Hawkeye made it to the rec dec, still in her bloody and spattered scrubs. Though her boots and shoes no longer squished as she'd changed them.

She grabbed a martini, and a shot of whiskey. "DONT WAIT FOR US!" She joins the toast.

She glances around for a table to join, and takes a little initiative to look to join one of the ones occupied by more than a few of the newcomers.

Val and Henry arrived just in time for the send-off, Mila padding along behind them.

 Val took a whiskey..  the waitress put a Bowl for  Mila and  LArry to have thier'toast' at the  table next to Shadows..

 When the toast  was  done.. The Admiral , Captain  and Admiral Hennings   came over to Shadow and the gathered  pilots.

 Bale  was in the back round with his   shoulder bag.

”I hope so, Roy passed some interesting footage to me which I’m waiting to be verified so...yeah I should be alright” for now at least she said as Lizzy gave her hand a gentle squeeze under the table. Despite being blanked by her boyfriend Izzy would blush as Harry said she wanted to make an effort to get to know her friends girlfriend with her cheeks growing an even deeper shade of pink when she told Lizzy to kiss her before she exploded. Quietly giggling Izzy would lean up and give Lizzy a quick kiss on her lips.

With her cheeks still a bright shade of pink she would stand up with the others to join in with the toast though she looked very much like someone who was trying to play a game she didn’t know the rules for and was almost certain that she was doing it wrong and that everyone knew it. With the toast finished Izzy would sit back down beside Lizzy and rather meekly ask a passing waitress for an orange juice and a salad, feeling far too nervous to eat anything more substantial.

 Lizzy was so happy Izzy got a good news story she wanted Izzy to do well and stay on the Hermes. That is awesome, so happy Roy helped you out, see you are making some friends, keep it up and you will have tons of friends. Lizzy was very happy for her sexy girlfriend.

 Lizzy looked at Harry and was about to say something when Izzy kissed her so quickly, Lizzy said, When we go back to your quarters we will have a better kiss, that will do for now sweetie

 Lizzy took a whiskey and then did the toast, she then called out,Don't wait for us

 Lizzy smiled at Izzy, then at Harry and Will. She waited for her sandwich and then asked Izzy, So you worked with Beth how did that go, and don't be so nervous we are all friends here right guys? She says to the table. She really hoped Izzy would be more comfortable but she was new to all this and Lizzy hoped she would relax and enjoy herself.

  Shadow    placed his shot glass on the  platter  as did the others.. some shaking over the strong  drink.

  Shadow smacked his lips , I don';t know about you folks who are used to drinking?..but that stuff was strong!  people LAughed…

Motts..KR-EN..Vicos..Higgens  and Xiot... You have recorded your  first kills, We don't get to  do this often, because  most first kill people get killed in that very same battle..other times.. we had other issues  going.. But!  for your First Kill.. You have to  down a Beer, right here..in front of  everyone... Dana? Give them  thier  beer..

 Dana  and  another  waitress hand  them each a Pitcher of Beer. they looked at  it, and each othe...Ok?  Last one finished has to  run an extra lap in teh tunnels, next time we run.... ready?... Go!

 Admiral Hennings  and  Admiral hack stood at  either  end of the like to  watch  them drinking, making sure , the 'sloshes' weren't on purpose..

 Ther  5  pilots     chugged as  best they could  Xiot had to stop before being encouraged  by the Admiral.. off to the side  were two   cleaning crew  with mops and Buckets.

 when it was   done..Motts  was the Last One.. he  wavered a bit  and gasped for  air.. Higgins  took him back to   the table he was sharing with  KR-EN  and Abby.

Next?  we have these  folks... his hand motioned to  Bottos, Lake, Griss, No-C and Chatty Smith.

 ..these  folks are Aces...All of them were there  when the  last attack happened  and kniocked down a few  aircraft,  that made the differacne in how badly  the HArvestor suffered....now.. You  folks.. will take     a bottle of  of   each  spirit..and drink to the Lable.. Admiral HAck, Admiral Hennigns  and   Captain Si will  stand  by you and  tell you when you reach the Label.... when you reach the LAbel.. yhou will move to the  second bottle..then the third... the loser.. again..runs an extra lap  in the tunnels.... Ready!..GO!

 Morris  arrived a bit late with Folders.. and  watched  with a look of Amusement, tinged  by disapproval.

 Lake  was last..all of them a bit  wobbly.... Morris  presented  them with thier  '5th kill' pic  and   the note they were permitted Nose art.

  they  staggered  back to their table s as  people cheered and the waved  a bit  shakily .

..Now..these 4.. have a Bit of a differant  award..

 Adamiral  HAck made the announcement  as   Admiral Hennings   held the  boxes, and Captain Si slipped the award over thier  heads.

 According to  the  ESN/APF..  you have  reached the  goals of 20m or more kills, and   are now, holders  of the Pour le Mérite..the Blue Max.... Congradulations...

 As  The Captain  slipped the   ribbon over thier ehads and shook thier  hands.. Morris  gave them a copy of their  '20th' kill..

 when it was over   Shadow   said,Noiw?  we don't know what kind of  stuff  Uden has, so.. i was asked to  try to cut  down on the  use of  our  spirits?  so.. rather then have the Blue Max   people drink from three differant  bottles... we  will allow them  to pick one bottle  each... they will drink to   the Bottom of the table... the loser..again..runs an extra   tunnel lap...

  they all picked thier  drink.. shadow  said go... and they chugged.. Gi-Lo  seemed like she was  ready to  fall over... and in   the  end..came in last.. like the others  they   wobbled back to their  tables.. Yutio , layed her ehad  down  as she  tried to recover.

 Thank you LC....This is something that happens, almost every battle..sometimes   even  an event that happened far from the Fleet that the  APF forces picked up on thier own...But this is not the Case... This..we saw happen..some of you from outside the ship..some of us  inside the  hanger...The HArvester, gave her self up for the Hermes.. It is ahrd to tell the level of damage that could have been down to us... I wager to say, every one  on the Hanger. dec. med tech and Labs  would have been killed.. and I am sure the resulting after  effects would have  done even more Damage.

 he opened his case  and   brought forth a letter  that he held up...This is  from the APF board.. the only  board, that the ESN board... he motions to the flag officers  around him,..MIGHT..answer to... It reads..in part....

Because of the heroism of the Harvester  and her  crew, in the act of sacrificing  herself, to save the ESN 351 Hermes  from further Damage... it is   the  APF's  decision  to grant  the entire  crew, the  Order of The White Nova..an award  rarely given..and the only Award...in  The Black..Higher then the Galactic Medal of Honor.. the families   of those who died will recieve the stipend for  30 earth years and recieve  any and all Military supplements allowed to Vets.... Those crew who are still alive, will recieve the stipend until they day of thier  deaths...even after retirement....The  APF is  sending  aid to help  reconstruct the HArvester, along  side the   Dock  workers of Uden, and Delta Fleet aid, until the Fleet must sail again...

 he puts the paper back in his   case.I wanted you all to know this...it is not an award  most of us  will ever  see... Not even Shadow!
 he grinned at the LC  who laughed and others  laughed.

 But it shows, that the  APF races recognized  The Hermes  as important...and  it is nio small fact, that the Harvester has been by  The Hermes side, since  she left  Earth... be proud  of your  ship..and be proud of  your fleet....he  took a  glass... and raised it.. others grabbed what drinks were available.

 ..The Harvester!... the crowd  repeated the name and tossed back thier  drinks shouting the name...

  Admiral Hack  shook off the   strong drink.As  much as  we  would like to stay.. we have some work to do , as we have the send off in the Morning... replacements  arriving  at the same time as the  Fleet commanders... so? enjoy yourself.. we'll see those of you who  wish to send off  our crewmates, at  1000 hours...

Roy had finished up with securing the findings from Dixie's quarters and slipped onto the deck just in time for the toast, slipping through the crowd to Shadow's table during the rest of the festivities.  He shook his head at the drinking contests, grateful that the Corps had no such traditions as he wondered how many newly-minted aces ended up dead from flying an emergency alert while hungover...or even drunk, as an attack could, theoretically, happen any time, even right on the heels of a big battle.

He took a seat where he could reach Larry, giving a smile and nod to Henry and Val.

With Izzy leaning up to give Lizzy a quick peck on the cheek Harry would chuckle as she watched the girl's cheeks turn bright pink, causing her to look like a schoolgirl with her first crush...which she was in a way from what Lizzy had told her.

When it came time for them to toast to the dead Harry would raise her glass of alcohol free vodka, as she liked to think of it, and shouted the words "Don't wait for us!" before knocking it back in a single motion. Although she didn't normally approve of making a toast with water, after her little wobble on the hangar dec she felt that it would perhaps be for the best if she avoided alcohol altogether this time around.

It was as Shadow was inflicting various drinking games on the most recent batch of Aces, Blue Max winners and first timers that Harry would smile across at Izzy as Lizzy tried to reassure her that she could relax and that they were all friends here "Relax Izzy, I don't bite...unless you're into that of course" she said with a mischievous grin as she continued to eat her pasta.

   Laryy  Thumped his tail as Roy showed up.   people where  comignin   and ordering,  as always , everything was on the LC.

 Before   Shadow   could  escape,  Frans, Eckles. Mara  ,Flores , No-CA and a  slow  moving Beth   grabbed  Shadow   for  the     embarrassment  portion of the show...

  The song  started,  each woman  saying a  Line  and  all Joining  the chorus.. Hemsly Playing the BArtender, as he   handed out shots to them

 Shadow acted  clueless  as he looked at the ladies   holding his  arms  helplessly..

   After  if was over the  girls made a motion  was  if they were   waving  The LC off, and started to walk away as the    crowd  laughed and Clapped...

 Only to Quickly   turn and Give him hugs   before  heading back to their Tables.

Harry would watch Shadows  performance with the ladies with an amused look on her face as she finished her pasta before being asked by Will if she wanted to dance. Taking his hand, Harry would turn to the other women as she got up ”I’ll see you girls later” she said with a smile before following Will out onto the dance floor for the slow song.

With his arms around her she would close her eyes and move to the music, with her simply enjoying the sensation of being within his arms.

Roy leaned over to Shadow and muttered, "Would it shock you to learn that Dixie's 'mama' has a name that starts with a 'V', and sent her a warning to stay clear of the Hermes during the battle?"  He gave a soft cough of sarcastic laughter, and added, "Guess it was a redundant message, however, because she hadn't read it yet."

 People  Took  to the floor. Steele  looked  lost with out Raven, But Raven was making sure her  'home' would make it to UDen.

  Kat was Dancing with a GunneryChief.. a few Civies  were makign their  way from the    Civie section, some of the impacts  The  Hermes  suffered  knocked things  around and  they  took some time to  clean uip a litt;le, before  coming to the LC's after party.

 though  most of the   Civies  ran the gambit from.. " I can't stand him, to he's great".. they all  took part in the after party. A chance to celebrate now  being dead, and free food and drink.

 Will Danced   with Harry, he didn't say much, he  did  nuzzle her   head from time to time.

 Gregor looked at the many, many legs  walking the  dec.. and   took his  chance to scurry across the dec to  pop up by Mila  and   Larry.. thumping his little    take  as he sat between them.

 Roll saw him run , but when eh saw him by Larry he nodded,..I think Gregor wants to grow up and be like Larry...

Zob was standing off to the side watching the festivities when the toast was called he raised his glass and joined in, when it was over he took a small drink from his flask of burian whiskey, 'What a day...' he thought to himself as he watched the couples dance.

"I don't know about that, I mean he treats me fairly enough but I don't think he actually likes me" Izzy softly replied with it clear that Lizzy was far more optimistic about her making any friends than she was, though at this point in time she'd settle for people not actively disliking her "Beth was ok, I think at best we may have a truce, though Orria seemed nice...bright too, if what I saw today was anything to go by she's going to be a whizz with computers when she gets older" she continued, picking at her salad halfheartedly as she watched Shadow singing with a group of women as put on some kind of a show "This is like being at high school all over again...the football jocks and the cheerleaders get all the attention while sit at the back trying not to draw any attention to myself...at least this time around I have someone nice to sit with" she sighed before looking up at Lizzy adoringly.

With Izzy still trying to figure out whether or not Harry had been joking about only biting if it was her thing, she would watch as Will lead the blonde pilot out onto the dance floor for the slow dance. She would enviously watch the dancing couples for several minutes, wishing that she could get up the nerve to ask Lizzy for a dance, terrified that if she did that it wouldn't be long after that everyone would start making fun of them. So instead, having given up entirely on her salad which lay half eaten on her plate, Izzy would quietly sip her drink and watch the other dancers.

 Lizzy smiled and said," I am so glad you got to at least that point, that's a good start. Oh Orria is amazing, Melia my friend is her Mom. She actually ran with us on our last run. Oh she will be incredible, your friend Sam does that stuff too doesn't she?"

 Lizzy giggles and says," Yeah I guess so, but you do have the best seat here, right next to Me."

 When Harry said her biting thing Lizzy chuckled and she said," Oh Harry behave I don't even know that yet."  Then Will asked Harry to dance and Harry said see you girls later, Lizzy said," Have fun Harry, see you later."

 Lizzy saw Izzy looking at everyone dancing, Lizzy wanted to dance so bad but she wasn't sure if Izzy was ready for that. Lizzy thought they where going to go dancing together, so Lizzy says to Izzy as she stands up and takes her hand," Izzy would you like to dance with me and I promise I will behave, remember we where going to go dancing but we got a little sidetracked. Plus Harry has our backs trust me okay." Lizzy will smile at her and looked Izzy right in her beautiful eyes.

Zob had a big grin on his face as he clapped for the folks singing and dancing he thought about joining in but that really wasn't his place... well not without sufficient motivation from a special someone.

Nikki clapped and when pointed at sang the lines as she sat on the table.  She still had a bit of a melancholy look to her, happy and sad at the same time.  she was waiting for Mitch to show, though his place was probably as a mess as hers was he was either napping or he was cleaning.  As the song was almost done she slipped off the table, guitar in hand and moved over to Shadow and whispered something, then to Helmsly at the vid boards.  She had an old song...well as many knew many of her songs were 'old songs'...she wanted to sing, to get a feeling from her soul out.  When the song did end she got up on stage, which she didn't do too often, preferring to sing from where ever she was sitting.  So it was easy to tell that this song was going to be one she felt was kind of special in a way.  "Hey Y'all.  I kno we are going to enjoy ourselves tonight.  We survived, and we won.  At a huge price.  I wanted to share how I feel with my friends...family...and I think this kinda tells how I feel about this, and all... she adjusted the guitar strap a bit and started playing softly then louder and began singing.  She wasn't sure how others felt, just how she felt.

Roy looked at Hemsly with an e expression that was somewhere between awe and disgust, shaking his head slowly until he noticed Lyri looking at him.  Roy raised an eyebrow in return, then clapped Larry on the head.  "I'll be back..." he told the larg, who barely looked up from his steak long enough to acknowledge the words.

Roy circled the table to Lyri.  "If you want to dance, can we wait for something that isn't so 'bubblegum teen pop'?" he asked quietly.  "I can stomach a lot...but dancing to this?"  He shook his head.

 Shadow sat, as he always did  with his  back to the risers  so he could see the  floor and most of the  RecDec. Part, making sure folks  were  parting, in some way. The other part was to make sure he didn't have step on anyone.

 He took a bite of his pizza  as he talked around the bite,Man.. i hope  Roles is ok, He took longer steps then I did . He  walked away from being an LT in the ESN, to being an LT in the EMS... made captain right before  we sailed.. I stuck out  the 'extra  year' they made me take...Roles would have a Star right now, at elast, if he stayed in the ESN...

  drinking a big  swing of  soda, he said,..always had  my back in the streets too....

 Beth laughed..like the '4 gang fight!'...

  Shadow  Nodded as tried to capture the string  of  cheese  coming from his next bite of pizza, how 'd you know that...

so? these gangs.. pain in the ass  groups, knocking over street venders.. attacking girls , breaking in on old folks  apartments..Cops  didn't come around, ebcause  it was in  'The Families' Territory and  they figured the  mob boys would take care of  them, but they only   did  that when they gangs  got too frisky...anyway..some chick jumped  gangs for a   Guy with a bigger...gun,,, she  shook her head as she picked up a pizza,

 But lotsa  kids in that area>,, too many chance for kids  to  get knocked off... So, Shadow and Rolls and a couple other guys figure, they would  'lead them Off.".. first? one guy goes  and 'asks them to move thier  was'... he ended up in the Hospital... 2nd  guy went to the Cops? he got arrested  for have havign a plate on his motorcycle... So  Shadow.. being...maybe.. a tiny bit smarter..

he stands  by the parking Lot with a tire  Iron..  he  yells 'Hey' and takes the headlights out of   4 or 5  cars,  and  both gangs  start to chase him.. 50 guys?... so.. form  what i could see from the  Cops   SEC  Cams they had at Intersection... this  guy is  running his butt off   runnign over top  of  cars, cutting down allies  Meanwhile , Roles , who has  always been the smarter of the two..

 Shade   laughs a metallic  laugh.

..every now and then one of the   fast  guys  would  get close to Shadow  and he'd hit them  with a Tire  Iron, or   throw the Guy out in front of a track or something... But Roles   got  another  Gang  comign from the north ?  they see this  guy leading  a horde of  other guys, and they thing its a turf  thing, so  stat running towards  him  Roles is  way down the street waving him towards  the Docks..

 she  took a bite and   was Laughing

 so the poor  Guy runs the way his best friend in the whole world tells him....doesn'tr take long for the horde to be   nearing the docks.. some of the Gang guys are tired.. they start shooting with everything  from Zip guns to  AKs...

the noise  from peopel screaming...Gangers   swearing  and weapons going off?.. this Vans  start pulling   in aroudn the   docks... Benny the Brick's   Mob.. had control of that section of the  docks...a stray  bullet takes out a  side  window  and blows  away one of his whores?.. so he  calls in  the  rest of his  people, and  some of   Louie the Shark's people.. and right there on the    Docks a little war breaks out... Shadow  ran   right past the    Mob  guys  and dove into  the River..

  Shadow shook his head  with an embarrassed  grin.

 Roles   comes   down the   river in a little  boat, gets him out of the drink and  goes  to Jersey...The news said, a big turf  war started  when rival gangs   teamed up to take  down the Mob...somethign close to m100  people were  gunned down or knifed to death, not  counting the ones Shadow knocked off oin the way ... The  Gangs fell apart, because they didn't have the  guys  to portect thier turf any more.. Benny  was killed  and  Louie was found in the  river a week later.. the Mob never did  get control of that section of the docks again....Cops were heroes  as they came in after the battle ranged  for about an hour... and no one else got hurt..

 hey, that truck guy bstabbed me, that's  why he   went out in front of the truck

 boo hoo!.. a little  switchblade in your  left arm? it wasn't even your  throwing arm!

 Shadow  shook his head again,..anyway?  that was Roles..he had it all planned out... My plan ended with  having them chase me...how many guys   can  plan out the  end of  4  ..maybe 4 and a Half if, you count Louie's ..GAngs..

 he got a bit  quiet,he could have  stayed on station, over Vera?.. but his job was  down , and he came to Help us....as always, right there  by the Hermes..

”I think so, we didn’t really talk about work” Izzy replied only having the vaguest of ideas of what Sam did for a living before giggling when Lizzy agreed with her comment about it being like high school, pointing out that she had the best seat in the house next to her ”you’re a lot prettier than Suzie Meyers too” she softly added, recalling the blonde cheerleader that in hindsight was probably her first crush.

With Lizzy gently taking her hand, Izzy would offer her a coy smile as she was asked for a dance. Glancing across at the dance floor she would hesitate for all of five seconds before nodding her head ”I’d love to...just...um...don’t be too well behaved ok?” she said with a gleam in her eyes as she got up and allowed herself to be lead out onto the dance floor. Within moments of them starting to dance Izzy would relax into the other woman’s arms as they slow danced together.

 Lizzy smiled and said, Well thank you, I never met Suzie, but I am glad you think I am prettier.

 When Izzy said she would dance with her and she didn't have to fully behave, Lizzy smiled and led them to the dance floor. Lizzy danced with Izzy she gave a thumbs up to Harry and gave Harry a look if anyone says anything you got our back look.

 Then Lizzy held Izzy close for a slow song, she did move one of her hands quite low on Izzy's backside. Afyer the song was over Lizzy held Izzy close, said,I love dancing with you and I am not as drunk this time. Lizzy chuckles and gives her a kiss on the lips not a super passionate one but a decent one to see how Izzy would react.

Henry looked a bit white as the Admiral spoke about the Harvester. He turned to Val.

"Here you were worried about me when you almost got killed here! Nobody's safe out in the black."

He leaned in to kiss her.

"But we are both alive... sorry, Mila, all three of us alive, so let's celebrate another day."

He took out a battered book.

Adam ran  back to his Makers ( which..in his mind he called ..The Maker )

"There was  much contesting over who should rule, and what  'place' each would hold... In the  end, both sets of  makers  could not agree, and  Lilit   and her people  fought to  keep Uden and  Adam's people fought to take it.

"Lilit  won..Adem   , his makers and what was  left of ,Adem's race.. were taken to Vera.. where they  settled in rather  well...Adem, to make  sure   he would have  no more opposition , developed   a way  to 'fix' Verians who became too much like the Undenese...Then a  'rebel' maker  told  Adem  how to make Verians stronger..how they could  get DNA  or even bear  eggs  by  gathering  DNA, or MAting  with  other HUmaniods..and Adem  took this to  the leave , unthought of, by  The Makers ..with harsh 'fixing', for those  offspring  who veered  too far from the Verian  Model.Those that  were  'Broken' and could not  be 'Fixed' would be..discarded.. the programming inside  that made  that Verian, unique,would be  saved on a stick and used  for the next egg that became available  .

"Lilit's  people  thrived ion Uden, they  bore  children  as 70% of the humaniods  in the galaxy  did .
