Shadow    returns  to the table... Shade    picks  up were he left off   with his burger..

 Lizzy was smiling and having fun , then Shadow returned to the table. Before she knew what hit her Frans and Eckles and pull her up to the Vid machine, Lizzy has never really sung like this before, of course she sings in the shower but she thinks she sounds hideous.
 Lizzy looks through the songs and finds one she knows very well and sings in the shower all the time. " Well I hope i dont make your ears bleed, I will give it a shot."

  Folks  cheered  for her   when  Lizzy  started ..when the song was   done   they hooted,  frans  and  Eckle slaughed.. frans  said,welcome to the Hermes!

 As she came   back towards the Table..Shade  gave her a  'Thumbs Up"

 Well?..  as soon  as  I finsih this I was Goign to leave.. if  some one else  doesn't pop up, I'll give you the tour..  Your  quarter s  will be on   the  Officers  dec..... Gonna  relax her  a bit though..maube  another  20 Minutes or so..

 Lizzy smiles and heads back to her seat bowing from all the applause.
 She looks at Frans and Eckles and says," Thank you ladies that was fun."

 Lizzy nods to Shade and smiles, she then sits down and responds Shadow," Thank you Sir that sounds great and that was fun."

  he  holds his    soda  in  two  ahdns    as he looks over the rec dec.....after  a battle.. we  have  two traditions.. the first one is  called 'The after Party'... we  come down here.. I pay  for  the party...  we have a toastv for the dead.. and then  we   party..Lots of singing   then... as we remember those  who don't  come back....but the end of the night, most folks  are feeling.. some hurt worse then others...... The second  thing we  do, is the  'Send Off"... ground folks.. crewman.. even civies  if  we get boarded...who died .... are   layed out, on the hanger  dec door.. Piltos?.. well.. we don;'t ever have too many Pilots   to  send off.. so we    fasten  thier spare  Helmets to an Empty  Bag.....Needless to say, the After party is  a lot more Fun

  the   average life  span of a new  Pilot is roughly , 2  engagements  ..you make  it through  yur first two furballs..  you have a better chance  to make it through the next one

 Lizzy knows all too well of "The After Party" and the "Send Off" her Father told her all about it and when she was younger she lived it as her Father when out on Missions.

 "Well Sir I do understand and being a Pilot's daughter I remember some of the "Send Offs" of my Father's Flight. This is war Sir and I hope you can tell I am not your average new Pilot you will have too deal with me a lot longer then than 2 engagements sorry for that." Lizzy gets a smile on her face and finishes her coffee.

Zob finished off his burger and fries he stretched, "Well thank goodness im going for another workout after this... in any case im on the clock now so ill see you all later but first gotta make a quick stop"

Zob made his way in the direction of the on duty German SGT Vollen that was assigned trash duty for his punishment in the tunnel, as he passed him Zob shot out a fast punch into his mid section while he was distracted.

  Shadow   made a   fake look of Sadness,..Ah  well.... I suppose    I'll have to get used to seeing the same old  faces    then.. Instead  of  seeing   some bright fresh faced   traniees ..

  He  was  quiet for a Moment, seeing a couple of the Hopefuls take the   'stage'  with    Mara and  Lana Brivet. as they sang  ( tried to ) a Sanri Hit … peopel  laughed  as they did, trying to  hit the lower   range  tones of Sanri  Voices.

 That one of the  left is Mara.. she's  one of the  9 left from   when the Hermes cast off... that was  before  Refit, and we only had  24  fighters... Lana Brivet..she  has  a  few engagments under her  belt... but she  and 4 friends  arrived , just in time for Aqra.... we spent  days in the air there... we fought against  EDT humans who were aiding the  Empire , that tries to help  the Fish  beat us.... at the end of the first day..there was  Only her left from her   group of  4... she flew the next day, and got shot up...and flew the last day, and got shot up again..Aqra  was rough.... its rougher  for the Fish now though.. there a damn solid  grip on the planet with Humans, Occui and Sanri staking out large  areas of Land...  we  sent  Gava  Back who wanted to go Back, and there are Naragrans setting up colonies,,, The Nivarians are  roaming the  wetlands  with Largs  and Worts, Hunting down Aqra who  try to  sneak onto land... I wager to say in 50 years or so? Aqra on thier homeworld  will be extinct  and only those   in  The Balck will  see  be around.

 A Shorter Man came  over his  face  has   Gun Grease  on it  as he was wiping his Hands.....Hey...LC? I heard  you got somehting for me? he  grinned.

 Aye...  wait.... he reached  into his Tunic   and Pulled out a  PAcket.....The Admiral  says   you don't  Like  big fusses  made...and that you turned    down officer  school  three times?

  Vollen  and McNeal  were  sorting Boxed... Most  of it was clear  cut.. meats  in  one  container.. fruits and veggies in another..and Mixed trash  in another. close  to 90% of  paper and Plastic  was already in  containers..but some folks were just last.

  When Zob  Hit  Vollen.. he saggered  and  fell onto a  Bag of  squishy fruits and Veggies.. soaking his  uniform..  a lot of  folks who saw it laughed... except for the   few Germans  who came  down.

Zob having done his civil duty for the day simply smiles and walks away down to the field.

It would appear that Harry’s day had become rather more interesting than she’d first envisioned, as it would appear that the new girl had a thing for her with the redhead making no attempt to hide the fact that she’d been checking her out with Harry more than a little annoyed that her shapely legs and toned muscles, which were by far her best features, were hidden by her uniform.

With her Hamlet the hamster toy firmly tucked within her top pocket, Harry would saunter onto the rec dec on get herself a Coke from one of the vendor’s before entering the main seating area. Catching sight of Lizzy sitting with Shadow, Harry would smile at the new girl before moving over to where her sister was ”Hey baby sis, how was the run?” she asked with an easy smile on her face as she tried to decide how far to take things with the new girl if at all, with a quick glance at one of the clocks mounted on the walls telling her that she had time to spare before she was due to meet Will.

  abby looked at   Harry, her bangs were still a bit  plastered to her forehead,..Bloody Madman he is. Didn't he have us  run 12  Miles..and a race!... them two over there.. finished  last.. the german Bloke tried to  knock   Shadow  down.. got a Busted   lip fer his efforts.. no. for the Next  24 hours, while he is on duty.. any one can  give  him a punch... Also  Him and that scot Bitch hasta  take care of  Rec dec  Garbage fer a week...she hasta  wear that Bleeding pack that she gave to the LC ta  wear... Blody   dumb  bitch she is..

 Ja x followed   Zob  a few seconds later after he  cleaned up his   table... he   faked a   punch at the German  who  flinched.. and looked even more abgry then  when Zob decked him.

Lizzy smiled at Shadows comment he will have to get used to seeing our faces...

 She will look at Mara and Lana listening intently to Shadows amazing but grim story, when he is done she will say," Sir that is war and we all signed up knowing our next mission could be our last but if we are prepared mentally and physically we will prevail sir."

 When Chief Fitzsimmons shows up and Shadow introduces him Lizzy will shake his hand and say,"Pleasure to meet you Chief Fitzsimmons it will be my honor to fly with you. "

 Lizzy didn't mean to be rude but for some reason Harry had a hold on her there was just something about her that Lizzy couldn't let go, she hoped no matter what they would be great friends but Lizzy was hoping for more a lot more. Lizzy turned, smiled back at Harry when she walked in and smiled at her, she couldn't keep her eyes off her, she was acting like a love struck 14 year old school girl. She then shook her head to clear those thoughts for now and turned back to the Chief and Shadow knowing damn well they had noticed she went goo goo eyes over Harry.

 He hands a stunned ( and embarrassed)  Fitz  the Packet.....here  are your  new  chevrons and rockers... have them put on  before the end of the day...

 Fitz   mumbled    his eyes  a bit  watery..Aye..sir..Already Done...

  People stood  and cheered... Shadow called to the  Stalls..  the drinks are  On me for the enxt hour!... That includes  you guys!  he pointed to the 6 grmans who had   returned to the   Rec dec.

 Fitz  shook  Shadows   Hand and  he went to sit  with  the other pilots  , Shadow returned to his  table.

Garrat had come in in full gear from the run. "Your boy did good LC.  Never complained a beep on the entire run." He watches other interactions.  "I walmost wish your daughter were stationed with us.  It seems like she should be part of this crew."

    Garrat turns to Shade.  "I've been helping out with a Transport that we've been getting ready for use in battle and peace and wanted to put together a crew with members from all of the AP races.  Missy says she should be able to swing porcine funding for specialty ordinance and we have habitats for Naragrans now as well as some Largran who originally workied on it.  It is well designed except for armament which we are correcting and as we improve the quality of parts, we are improving the performance."

   Garrat takes a breath, now for the kicker, "All of the systems are tied through the computer system, and I was considering the Idea of having a Verian Captain who was integrated as part of the ship with absolute control of the computer through direct interface.  This was the ship was it's own entitiy." Garrat is uncomfortable about this.  "I am not sure if this a breach of ettiquet so stop me if I'm making a blunder here, but I feel we haven't...unlocked the potential of your people, and I'm tried to design a ship that will be given the freedom your mother never had.  Where the entire ship could be the verian.  This one can be controlled down to the weapons system, but it has a ways to go to unlock it's full potenetial.  If it was agreed by all parties that an integrated verian captain was feasible, I would prefer he-she would be part of the evolution of the ship as it is his-her body." Garrat ia quiet a moment.  "Just want to put the Idea out there and see what you think of it."

  Shadow didn't hide his  pride  as he gave Shade a Look...he puts up with  alot... it s nice to see him get some satisfaction, as  well earn respect outside of his name  and rank.

 Shade  Listened  to    Garrat..  and he rattled of a series of  sounds, Shadow said. for  full integration , you would have to speak to Lilit, as she knows  more then  he does... he does  say it might be hard to get a Verian, even a Blue  Verian. to commit to  being 'the ship'.....and  Most in the service   are already past  age of integration.

 Shade gives a thumbs  up at the translation.

 TH LC takes  that Moment to Introduce  Lizzy to Garrat...  This is Ensign  Lizzy MAris?  transferred  from  The Apollo... Lizzy?  THis   Is  Garrat  Wolfrim.. currently a  SGT , here..but  has  supposed to come from across the Galaxy by a bit of an accident

    "It's good to see new blood Izzy.  Just try and kep it inside your skin.  We have lost far to many freinds in this war, and are destined to lose more." Garrat clasps her hand in his big beefy palm.  [he doesn't do the hand shake thing.]
    He glances at Shadow, "Is she going to be flying with Teela?"

 Shadow shrugged....not  at first?  we sent  Justin and Waggles  to Steele's flight... I have Viktor  and Abby in My flight until we sort them out... By defualt she  is in Fitz's  flight since  we more or less , traded  Billups  for her....

 we'll have to see  how  Abby does  with Viktor  as a win and Vice Versa..might have to make change s down the Line... that is up to  Captain Morris  and the Flight leaders...

    "If we were to make this work I wouldn't want a "Typical" Verian in it.  Though it may not be my decision.  In fact if I had my way I would have as many species as possible including sympathetics from traditionally Empire species.

     "I'm kinda torn.  I would love to captain it myself as that has been most of my life, but then it would be a merc vessal as I cannot sign up to the articles with outher promises I have made.  It would also allow us to use it for non combat purposes and get more use out of it  But for full AP suport and funding it would be best to have it run by an AP captain."

    "I'm also loath to walk out on Spencer.  He's been good to me.  Your entire crew has once they got used to me.  I don't want to leave him or my other freinds in sec in the lurch, and want to be there for the Hermes people in general."

  Shadow  nods,aye  to that?  Even Roles  has   it a bit tough, ebing EMS instead of   ESN.. The Admiral  funnels  more creds into them, ebcause they do  an outstanding Job...but APF doesn't  really lie Mercs.. they use them?..they don't trust them... It has shown good reason, when we look at the EVOLs...

   Garrat nods to Shade, "I would hope you are never asked to.  This is your home.  I was there when you came into it."  To the LC "Yeah, the EVOLS were a definite black eye to the mercenary concept.  Suspiciously so, as if the empire wanted us to distrust mercenaries.

  "I don't know why everyone has such a short memory, but the tortugan fleet used to be a big part of Delta Fleet.  In fact without the EM dust from their Ion cannons we would never have been able to take out the deadly Island structure the Demons had near angel space.  It all seemed to dissappear after the head Merc ship, I think it was the scorpion, rammed a Largran flag ship and exploded taking the captain and most of the Crew that they stopped being a major part of the fleet."

As she listened to her sister relaying the events that had transpired within the tunnels with her aptly describing Shadow as a madman, Harry couldn't help but laugh knowing that she had made the right choice in not joining them especially when she saw the state poor Abby was in.

At her mention of the redheaded bird at Shadow's table Harry would briefly glance over at them just in time to catch sight of the girl in question hurriedly looking away before returning her attention to her sister "Yeah that's Lizzy, I met her down on the hangar dec when she first got here...she seems nice, she asked if I'd show her around the ship" Harry responded before taking a sip of her drink as she silently added to herself and it looks like she might have the hots for me deciding to keep that particular theory to herself as she had previous for getting similar situations dead wrong.

She would listen as Shadow then made his announcement, awarding an emotional looking Fitz his deserved promotion, raising her glass in a toast to him. Figuring that Abby would want to take a shower after enduring Shadow's twelve mile sprint through the tunnels Harry would leave her sister in the company of the other rooks she'd been dancing with and head over to Shadows table "Kray Shadow what in the nine hells did you do to my sister?! She looks like she was chased around the ship by an angry Larg" she said with mock severity, knowing full well that he'd done no such thing and finding the whole situation highly amusing.

    "Actually she was the one doing the chasing but I think he lapped her."  Garrat chuckles, "She'll get stronger.  She's got your blood after all."

well?  there  was  an Angry LArg involved...and some angry scots..and  an  angry LC.... he  smiled..Larry thumped  his tail...

 Shade  gave  HArry a thumbs up.

  This  Is Lizzy Maris.. new Pilot?  I think you have Met? I was going to show her around if no one else volunteered? If some else wants to do it, I cam go check my ride...

 looking to Garrat,..The EMS are only one step  down from the  ESN..like the coast guard to the Navy?.. The tortugans..well they are  pirates and privateers.. we will end up  blwoign as much of them  up as others ..you can  count  on it...

Justin accompanied Abby to the rec deck to get something to eat and see what was going to happen next. Heading to his usual table he noticed a different red head pilot chatting with several of the crew; who's apparent fascination for harry bordered on excessive infatuation. Giving a shrug Justin paused to place an order for a hearty meal then crossed to his regular table.

 Lizzy stood and her coffee was gone, she grabbed a ice water and toasted to her new Flight Leader as he got a promoted to Master Chief. Lizzy was excited her new Flight Leader just get promoted that means he is good and she can learn a lot from him. She finishes the toast and then Shadow introduces someone new to her Garrat he does really shake just like a slap," Nice to meet you Garrat." and then she turns and low and behold who walked up behind her was Harry, she was startled and almost spilled her water all over her chest, then Harry talked to Shadow.

 Lizzy smiled at Harry and then was about to sit back down when  Shadow introduced Harry to Lizzy. Like Shadow was reading her mind or something, well he did see her stare at Harry earlier. Lizzy can't help it with Harry so close to her she gets a little red in the face, and wonders if she will volunteer to show her around she already said she would earlier. Lizzy also wonder if Harry had suspected she really had the hots for Harry well Lizzy wasnt hiding it thats for sure.
