Zob stood up when he heard the noise and watched as Jax was carted in and brought over to the operating room, "No... not him" he fell in his seat and slummed over defeated and for the first time in his life a small tear escaped his eyes feeling terrible he wasn't there to protect him.

The poison continued to take its toll on his body as the infection spread rapidly the only thing keeping him alive was the fact he was inhumanly tough and refused to die.

  The Med tech  tapped  Zob on  the shoulder...we  hooked you up to this  drip.... according tro Stefi, this is what the   Demons  used, with a  bit of a  'cocktail'  for the    human traits in the Blood... the re  were  2  shards  we got out, and  took a bit of the  skin away, then  foamed you up.. you gotta   wait for the  antibodies  now...

 Teela   was   up for the  most part.. hurt and sore  for sure...

 Justin  was   fussing   in a  twilight like sleep, he would   wake soon.

 Stefi worked on    Jax  , using   small spreaders  to open the   wounds  to get the    'twist prongs ' free. so they   could extract the  smooth pointed   cylinders of the  DAggers

Zob glanced to the drip and chuckled a bit, "No dying for me today it seems... um can you grab me my pack really quick... i can't quite reach it" he then glanced back in the direction of the OR, "Ill be fine but please do everything you can to make sure that boy makes it through alive"

 The Med tech looked at the Drip,..Just relax... anothe r   20 miniutes or  so the  drip  will be  done... then we'll test the blood  to see  who it  is..you should  make it for the After  PArty.

 she sighed a bit,..as  far  as the  Kid goes?.... Stefi is in there...

"What happened?" Teela asked of the first tech who came in to check on her after she was coherent to realize the ship had been attacked and there were quite a few wounded.

 well, Ma'am,  about the  time the    training was finishing up.. we   got a  Tip from  SEC... either Beth or  that Vampic  woman  got it.. there  was a  Vampic  Hunter    taskforce out there.... then we  found out there  were  2...... we   went  right after them... the fleet  took  some lumps, but the Vampics lost every one of thier  ships and transports.... turns out  they had  Kids  on  board  the Big ships  and   on  one dec of the Transports... some Fighter Jock got gun CAm vids of them tossing kids out to get ride of the evidence .. they paid   for it..some of the bastards escaped in Escape shuttles....some PODDED out , but  none of the   tenders  or   fighters can seem to 'find' any.

 I guess they  tried to take the Hermes or destroy it.. we were hit  with a buncj of  those   assault shuttles  that bore into the Hull... they are all dead accept  for a few offciers... I kinda  think they won't be here that long..

Teela started getting up, holding on to her stomach as she did. "How badly were we hit? Who did we lose? Is Garrat all right? Harry? The Admiral? I need to see what's going on."

 The Med Tech  shakes his head,Relax..maybe   Stefi lets you go to the After part......Lynch broke her  ankle in the  survival course....   Kase got torn up.. tried to push himself into the  air , and got  chewed up there  as well...

 had  about  6  pilots  unable to fly....that Stem kid  is torn up pretty good..Commander  Si  flew  combat in  that HAmmer IV..she   helped chew up some of the    invaders  in the hanger Dec... we were hurting for people  though, since  we lost those germans...

 ..don't know how true it  is, but  some new kid in the Hnager group  was beating   down Vampics  with a  6 foot pry bar and  using  a captured  Vampic  Pistol

Zob sighed and shook his head a bit all he could really do was wait until the drip ran its course to make sure the toxins were purged from his systems, "Hes a strong kid... i know he will pull through"

Roy walked into the waiting area, his face taut with concern.  His expression softened slightly when he saw Sneak, and he stepped over to one of the orderlies.  "I'd like an update on the wounded boarding personnel..."  His tone was respectful...but it was clear he was not going to be put off, and expected an answer to his question.

..The  Med Tech at the Desk said, Guardian grabbed the LC,, they are  giving the  kid  a transfusion.. seems barbaric  now-a-days..but hse  said his blood  time was  ..'just right'...

 The  Demon guy is  geting  anti-tox drip..he'll be sore..but   he  should be  fine...

 ...have a  few more   weapon's  wounds, but they were tewate dand sent off.. Stil have a couple  piltos  recovering.

"What about the Hyrian?  Sergeant Lirg?  He was on the first med-evac, and in possibly the worst shape.  How's he doing?"

  The Med Tech was  quiet,we are waiting on  'fresh ' Hyrian Blood  from thier    ships... he's stable..but he could go either  way..we  are using  recyled  Blood  and some human mix  that is  close to them..but he needs  the real thing...

A invisible weight seemed to lift from Roy's shoulders...things were still up in the air, sure...but 'stable' was a helluva lot better than Lirg's condition had been when they'd packed him aboard the shuttle.  "Anything I can do to facilitate things?" he asked.  Odds were almost certain that what could be done had been done, already, but Roy felt like he had to ask.

Zob looked up when he saw Larry peak his head in he gave him a pat on the head then he noticed Shade, "The poison did a fair bit of damage but even racial flaws can't stop me"  this was the first real time he was in med tech for a injury and odds are it wouldn't be the last.

  Shade  bleeped  and whirled a bit , pointing in the  direction of the Rec Dec. He held up   2   fingers and pointed at the clock.

  LArry came  in   halfway ( which is  all the  room the STall had  with the Bed and a LArg.) He laid his head on the  bed as  Shade  whirled  and bleeped  away.

 As Roy  talked with the  Med Tech at the Desk.. Two  Guardians  from the  Hyrian ships entered..it was odd  seeing white  armored Hyrians. The  ha d  two  metal   cases  each.. and they were    running...  The Guardian at the  OR  Pointed  down the  HAll   and the    Hyrian's  rounded the corner.

 The Med Tech smiled slightly with a shake of her head,..I'd be lying if i ever  said... i would ever get used to seeing   Guardians of diffrant RAces...He should be  fine now.... I'm afraid he'll miss   the after party and the send off though.. from the rumors i have heard?  One less  rib and  the bottom of his heart would have   been  blown away...

 The Blades  were out of JaX now... Stefi   had  Med Techs scan for  bits of sliver or   Dirt..  The  LC was on the next  table  covered in a   white 'bag' except for his  head  and  his left arm , as they    put blood  back into the kid, while  Stefi began to foam the  kid   shut.

 ..you know, Shadow....you can't be  drinking  at the after  party..but you need  fluids...

 ..I'll have the shot   for the toast.. then   soda  , juice, whatever  the rest of the time..but  i will have the shot...

Gingerly Justin looked around, the action station alerts weren't active and he was still alive so he was certain Delta Fleet once more prevailed. He wondered how many enemy vessels were taken and what the cost to do so was.

  the moment Justin stirred, a  Med Tech entered  the room...well?  you're  up?   Now?.. if you're a good fellow... Stefi  will be in shortly  and  tell you , your  restrictions..you should be able to  go to the after  party... no dancing for a day or so...

Roy nodded.  "Chest wounds are always a bad thing.  Not knowing Hyrian physiology, I don't know exactly where his heart is, but any wound center-torso is gonna be serious.  He's lucky about more than that...if the Vampics had been using hard ammo instead of pulse weapons, hydro-shock would have made a mess of his chest cavity, unless the armor managed to take enough speed off."

He sighed, relaxing with the knowledge that the Hyrian was safe.  He turned, noticing Sneak again, and stepped over to her, taking a knee next to the seat she was in.  "Jax should be okay...the wounds he got weren't that serious, by themselves...it was the fact that he was alone when they ambushed him that made it so serious.  He's a tough kid...there were four Vampics, and he got them all, and only two of them managed to do anything.  Tucker sealed the wounds as soon as he found Jax, and Shadow's in there, donating blood to help replace what Jax lost.  He's not going to be running any races right away...but he's gonna pull through."  Roy's voice was certain, confident the words were true...but also gentle, aware that there was some kind of bond between Sneak and Jax and respectful of the fact that she was as close to family as Jax had.

Teela relented and settled back down in the bed. “New kid? I’m guessing Lucky. He’s more than living up to his name.”

She closed her eyes and tried to get comfortable which, given her wounds, was easier said than done.

   Sneal  Tried  to   wipe her  eyes.. the other   waitress patted her on the back,..Thankj you  Mr    Spencer... we had  bad  stuff  happen before..but this is the first time i wasn't there  to try and  help.... even in the Stem, before i got hurt.. we  were trying  to fight to get to him,....

  Shadow   came out  from the    Hall way of the ER..he looked a Tad  wobbly...did you know..if you give blood,  they give you a Bura Berry sucker?... I think i have a dozen coming..

 his   left arm was in a sling as he  smiled...  Jax  was  starting to look around  when i left.... I think he'll be ok?  I think  Stefi was just took the catch  to stick me again...  he smiled  easy enough...

 he gave Roy a  Pat on the shoulder....you guys  trained him pretty  damn good, I'd  say...

 ..I'm gonna check on the others?... I know  Teela  and  Justin were here form the surviavl training.... saw Gia  standing  around  on the flight  dec  before..we took some lumps this time...

   Garrat came in>  he had left his gear to be taken to QM but was in full armor.

   "I heard as I ws jumping off.  How are you feeling?"

Teela looked pale and her eyes were tight with pain but she smiled when Garrat walked in. “Like a giant lizard ripped me open and a giant beetle stabbed me through the chest in two places. How are you, my love?”

Roy grinned an acknowledgment of Sneak's concern.  "I can sympathize...every trooper who get wounded while I'm in charge has me second-guessing, on some level, if I should have been somewhere else."  He shrugged, and sighed, rubbing his hand through his close-cropped hair.

"Truth is, though, sometime bad stuff happens, no matter what we try and two.  I was standing right next to Lirg when he took two shots in the chest.  Fraction of an inch higher and they'd have hit him right in the heart.  Not a damn thing I could do to prevent it...didn't even see it happen, didn't realize anything was wrong until he dropped his rifle, and then it was a few more seconds before the Vampics fell back and I could check on him." He sighed again, and looked her in the eyes.

"It sucks...but that's the world we live in.  You're safer than you were, running in the Stem...but life on a warship is never truly safe."

He gave her a nod, as Shadow walked out and started talking about suckers, and Roy could only grin and shake his head.  At the comment about Jax' training, Roy just shrugged.  "Kid's got great instincts...we a totally haven't taught him that much, just refined what was already there.  He gets most of the credit, all on his own.  The only thing I'll take credit for is recognizing what a great Marine he'd make...and he's never given me reason to question that."

  Sneak  have a   sobbing laugh at them both..there was pride in there  too.

  Shadow   smiled  and headed in to   see   Teela   and   Justin...

 Sneak looked to the  hall that lead to the back,..you think they'll let me see him?

 Poking his ehad in to  Teela , he saw  Garrat there, then he waves to them,..After  Party in about an Hour..if you can make it...  his eyes  went  to  GArrat and Teela  and a half  smile  grew.....I'll let you to it.....

  moving on to   Justin, he  came in...you know.. i got a few less hopefuls out there,  then i had when i started the Day?.... Please tell me  you were showing them 'what not to do' when you are hurting ?  there was a bit of a chuckle.

 ..After  party is  in about an Hour..... don't   drink too much  though.. you might leak like one of those old   cartoons...
