Re: OOC # 22
There is a bit of a paradox , when it comes to the 'dice roll ' thing.
if there isn't set parameters ( like we had in the Everest contests ).. we can play deeper into the training and such, and backrounds of the characters.
when we do dice rolls.. the Mods and rolls 'rule the day'
(ask nikki! she did real well on her 1st 1/3 )
anyway.. the best thing I ever heard in gaming, from a couple differant rule books, anyone one can 'slip'..anyone can 'trip'..and the worse NPC can get a lucky hit.
I bring this up all the time?... Bo came in to be the first guy down to try and save Shadow on the Green Moon. My Rolls had him shot down...and would have been Very BAdly wounded ( we would have had to roll to see what happened. ).. according to my 'hard-fast' rule... The player can try to change that outcome if I give them the option ( which I almost always do except for pure stupid things..((ajax)) )
Bo's Player rolled a 1.... Bo Vanished in a Ball of fire and Debris
anyway? Shadow's Mods are damn high.. I am RPing him pushing everyone to try to catch him, and keeping notes on who is trying... the LAst Leg I'll roll.. so that PCs might have the chance to catch him
so? have fun with it.. you'll see more of such things down the line.. for differant purposes , but it helps keep the game fluid.
After I post this I'll send PMs to the Players for them for thier 2nd roll
Nikki is Up in front , a little behind Shadow as he accelerates , into the first Curve.
