Sam was still at the Airfield with Sarah, the Admiral and the others. She got Henry's message that him and Val wanted to adopt Can. Sam smiled and she thought this would be the best for all of them. Sam did the paperwork and then headed over to Sarah. Sam sent a message back to Doctor Christie," Very good Doctor Christie I will do all the paperwork and let you know when it is official, thank you Can will be so happy now."

 Sam smiled then asked Sarah," Ma'am I need your signature on a Hermes adoption of one of the Everest children, Can a sad little boy who wasnt adopted by a family ended up a ward of Shadow Village, but Doctor Christie and Val wish to adopt him, all the paperwork is done I just need your signature Ma'am I think this is the best for all involved Commodore." Sam stood there very happy she might have found the perfect home for Can even if it wasnt on Bura.

He wouldn't have made the offer if he thought his parents would have been unhappy or upset. In fact she might find them very welcoming to a woman that their son seemed to have set his eyes on. Nic had never been the type to settle on just one girl growing up. He could tell the offer did surprise her and it amused him that she never saw herself being the type to meet some guy's parents. She really needed to see herself differently.

He listened to her, watching her as she spoke and then gave a nod to her. "I doubt he's changed," he said quietly. "If he was the man you remember, then he would understand that his youngest got in with the wrong crowd, much like you, and then didn't get out when she should have. I keep on getting the impression you loved your father but your mother was a different creature. And if she was your half sister, I assume your mother was separated from him. I don't even know if that is true."

He hugged her again as she rested her head on his shoulder. "You did it because it was the right thing Harry, never forget that but I think you are wrong there. I don't think they care if you lost your wings, I think it was more how you reacted to them that is causing this all. And I think you can ignore it all and try to be better. Even if they give you nasty looks, ignore it, treat them like people and things will change. Show them you can be part of the team instead of the wild card."

For a few minutes then just enjoyed the silence and then she spoke again, surprising him a little but he thought it over briefly. "Sure, I have a couch I can sleep on," he said with a chuckle and at that moment it was all over as the recall sounded. He sighed and kissed the top of her head. "Come on, lets get back before we both get it."

With that said, he unwrapped his arm from around her and got up, holding his hand out to help her to her feet so they could get back to the shuttles.

Mila was capering around. She'd always liked this quiet youngster, gentle and not rowdy, and now it appeared Her Human was bringing him into their family.

“Yeah…making friends is not something I am good at but Arnie encourages me to not just lock myself away in my room. I try to be…social but I always just feel weird about it. Hanging out with one or two people is enough for me. Unless I am dancing…then I don’t mind there being more people.” Her gaze moved to Shadow as he told them (though she thought it was more directed at Roy) what his plan was. “Wouldn’t be rushing back…not like I am doing anything of importance,” she snickered. “Besides, I can go see if Arnie is about.”

  Shadow looked  to Billie  with a bit of a grin,Are played a   game of  3  card Angel Shuffle with Beta...?... he lost.... Never play  three  card  angel shuffle  with an Angel....

 Right now he's  waist deep in stocking Bura    ales, beers and liquors

 Another APV  Pulled in  flashing its  light to  let folks know it was ready, as  the one  before it   rolled down the  forest  road.

 The LC COMed Sam... LT Robertson?.. I'm Commendeering   the  shuttle for  another   40 minutes or  so, I want to spend more time with the  Vilage folks, before i head up to the Hermes...if you need  the shuttle before then, Just let me know.

 Can was smiling, the first real smile , since they saw him on the beach  with  the LC and the other kids..., his  eyes  still wet,,maybe, still worried  thgis was a 'joke' but he stood  with his little bag waiting to follow   Henry

 While Sam waited for Sarah's reply, she answered her Comms. it was LC Shadow. " Of course LC Shadow as far as I know there was no other scheduled trip for that shuttle, and thank you Sir if we require it I will contact you Sir."

Roy silenced his comm...had they not been sent to the Heimdall, he would probably have already caught an early shuttle back, as he always felt best overseeing the recall check-ins, even if he wasn't the one checking people in.  "They're playing my song..." he commented with a wry grin.

He got up with a minimum of struggle because of the wounded ankle, giving a nod to Shadow and Billie before he hobbled over to where the APV was pulling up, climbing aboard and taking a seat.

 Lizzy ran into the store hoping to find the perfect pair of green earrings, she one that was nice but the rest where the same. She was hoping she would find something but nothing jumped out at her. Lizzy heard the horn and acknowledged her recall on her Comms. She leaves the store Bubbly but a little depressed, she says," Ok Izzy lets head back at least we got the wine and I got amazing new boots." Will walk with Izzy to get a ride back to the shuttles to take them back to the Hermes.

She laughed and shook her head. "Oh Arnie...I want to say that I am surprised...but somehow...I am not." She stood up when Roy got up, watching him just in case he did need any help (not like he would show it or ask for help). Once he was seated in the shuttle, she looked to Shadow. "So...tagging along with you now?" She quirked a brow.

 Meari was dropped off by the black hover car at the airport. Meari got out and thanked the driver and then used her crutch the head for the area where everyone was. She had a huge smile on her face.

After a short walk down the street they would find themselves within the jewellery store, with Lizzy heading straight for the display case that held the earrings. Unfortunately just like every other time her search would prove fruitless with Izzy quietly wondering if her girlfriend was simply looking for something that didn't exist and whether the only way she would ever find that perfect pair of earrings that she so desperately desired was if she commissioned a jeweller to make them but even then she feared they may fall short of her expectations.

It was as she was standing within the store idly browsing the shopkeepers wares that her comms unit would go off signalling that it was time for recall with Lizzy reluctantly ending her search "It's ok babe, we'll find them eventually, lets go home" or at least she hoped they would. Slipping her arm about Lizzy's waist they would leave the shop and head back towards the drop off point in order to catch the APC and then the shuttle that would take them home.

  If yiou want?  Like I said, I'm just here to  let these flks know i appreciate them.. They  Volunteered  to host the     end of the run  feast,  they helped the  Burian commandos    keep an eye on the runners... This is a big thing  for them..Heck? Its a Big thing  for me.. This people look up to Lady  and me... 30 minutes here  talkign and dancing  isn't going to kill me, I'll be back  before cast off, and these folks have  stuff to talk about  for the next few month.. The towns and capital can brag about the fleet...but these folks  get to say ' I ' was here..

 At the Airfield,  Meari saw  some people getting  getting into  two Big Uglies.. there was no  'sorting' they just got   on one or the other , waiting  to go home.

  Supe  and  Hodden walked with  two cartons of  Burian green beer each...Hodden asked  meari as they stood in line...you fine anything you liked here?

 Lizzy just smiled and said," One day they will jump out at me, just not having good luck right now thats all Izzy."  Then Lizzy got all bubbly again thinking about working on getting the party going for Zob and Melia.

 Lizzy walked with Izzy to where they got a transport to the airport, once there they waited in the long lines to get a shuttle back to the Hermes and back home.

 Meari smiled and replied to Hodden," Oh I got this wonderful knee injury on the run, but I did get too see Skiffle one of the Everest Stem kids that went to Bura for adoptions. She got a very good and loving home." Meari tried to fight back the tears, but Hodden would see a tear fall down the Udenese warrior woman's cheek, but Meari looked happy as well.

With his arms about her and her head on his shoulder she would listen as Nic put forward the theory that her father would understand and that as painful as it had been she had done the right thing, though she still wasn’t sure whether he would actually forgive her for pulling the trigger. At the mention of her mother she would shift uncomfortably before quietly replying ”There were drunken shenanigans” she replied making clear that despite being as open minded as she was that she didn’t really approve of the manner of Abby’s conception ”...don’t get me wrong, I loved my mother but we just always rubbed each other up the wrong way and she struggled to deal with me” she said realising that perhaps she’d painted her mother in an unfair light. Unsurprisingly he would also use the opportunity to suggest that she needed to try and get along with her colleagues a little better and be a team player.

What she did find surprising was Nic saying that he could sleep on the couch bloody boy scout! she silently exclaimed as she reluctantly got to her feet in order to respond to the recall that had chosen that moment to sound ”yeah that wasn’t really what I had in mind” she said giving him a look that said she had been intending for him to be in the bed with her, after all she could sleep in a bed by herself in her own quarters, assuming of course that he wasn’t teasing her again ”you’re going to make me ask aren’t you?...fine, Nic please can I have a cuddle tonight?” she asked with an embarrassed flush coming to her cheeks with her thankful that they were still far enough away from everyone else so no one but Nic would be able to see it.

Nic tried to keep a straight face as she gave him that look he could almost read as her thinking he was being a idiot. He literally forced her to ask him and then glanced at her after. "You're fun to tease sometimes Harry," he said with a grin and gave her a hug. "Of course you can if that is what you want. I promise to try and keep my hands away from places they don't belong." He understood why she asked but he was concerned a little about things between them leading them further than either of them wanted just yet.

Of course he lowered his head as his hand cupped her cheek, giving her a light kiss on the lips. "Sorry if I made you blush like that." She didn't deserve what he did in teasing her and it was a tiny little regret he had. "Come on, lets get in before they leave us. When we get back, meet at my quarters after you do what you need to do?" He climbed in the APC and helped Harry up to take it back to the landing field so they could grab one up to the Hermes.

Henry was beaming all over his face.

"Come on Can, welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. We need to round up the largs and take them back up to the Hermes. Are you interested in learning how to care for largs? We need to have a good chat about what you're going to be doing... to start with, how old are you and what schooling have you had, if any?"

As he was going to home-school Roll, perhaps Can could also study with him, at least initially. It would all depend where his talents and interests lay. If he wanted to learn engineering or medicine or soldiering or to be a spaceman, he'd have to learn stuff Henry couldn't teach him.

With Nic confirming that he was only teasing her Harry would give the top of his arm a playful punch in retaliation for making her blush like that, however she did enjoy the kiss he gave her afterwards with it making for a pretty good apology in her eyes. He would then agree to her stopping over, promising to keep his hands to himself with Harry getting the impression that he truly meant it which was equal parts reassuring and frustrating as she wouldn’t have objected to a little misbehaviour ”... and I promise to be a good little girl...not that I have the energy for any shenanigans, also I need to see Stefi in the morning so please don’t let me oversleep” she said carried on walking towards the transports.

With Nic sitting beside her and her mood having improved by her brief time in the sun, the ride back up to the Hermes would prove to be more enjoyable than the one down with her looking forward to another decent nights sleep.

  Shadow  was able to talk Hemsly into hanging  around, and he put on some  Astra  electronic , pumping  music,  and Shadow   nodded to  Billie, ..show them what yuo do?..maybe they'll make a new Wardance out of it.

 the Music  started  and Shadow  looked at the overhanging  , wicker  'lady'... after the dance, we would have to go.

There was a notable blush that came to Billie's cheeks when Shadow put her on the spot...but she was not one to turn down dancing. There was something so freeing that came with it. Pausing for just a couple of moments to listen to the beat, Billie began to dance, starting off small before fully getting into, her body flowing with the beat as she seemed to glide across what served as the dance floor. She even threw in a few moves that she had picked up from Arnie.

  The Village folks clapped  and cheered.. some of the  younger  women who did alot of the 'seductive' dances  joined in , proving to  be   quick studies.

 The Chief   came up to Shadow who sat on the end of a log table, the firelight  reflecting off him..This was good   day, Shadow, LC.... Much pride for  our Village..lessons learned  by young ones...

  Shadow  smiled a bit..alot of lessons handed out... but there is more to teach, and the lessons  come hard to those who do not have the heart and head...Doesn't matter
 to me any more Chief... If a part of the machine is broken, I'll just throw it away...

 while Billie's dance was  coming close to the end.. Shadow walked with the  Chief, SI-CO and a few others, they  Lit  the   tail for the Spears with some tar made  from  certain boles of trees... the  older lad  fell short of the  Target by about  5  yards, but would have been  dead on, the targets  sat  100 yards.

 The Second  Lad   threw, his  was  Far.  enough, and a mere  3 yards  to the left.

 I haven't thrown a Javelin since i was at the Academy?.. I'll try the first one   to hit the target, and the   second , for distance ...

  he  looked at where he had to throw  from, stepped back a good   5 Yards    Ran Up  and threw.. the  spear, isn't a javelin, but it went  fairly  well, landing to the  right of the target, bit a yard insdie the first lad's...Shadow  frowned.. but , his  final throw  was  for   Distance,   as he ran up  and  Grunted loudly.. the spear  travels a good  10 yards  past the  target, but  so 20 rights  to the right.

 SI-CO threw,, his spear hit the Bottom of the target and  stuck hard..

 Shadow raised his hands  turning to all the  Village...You see what SI-CO has  done?.... This is a lesson for the whole Village.... Older Warriors, do not be greedy with your secrets..teach your  young ones, so all can  gain from your skills.... Young ones...listen...learn..to be part of the  clan, is everything... do not seek to put yourself  above them!

Sarah held up her hands, "I'll have the details forwarded to you, but the armaments and displacement closely match that of the Hermes but is up to date on the latest tech with the latest systems built already integrated. She nods to Sam who was already sharing the data with Dusk.

Sarah joined in the toast with a smile, glad to bring joy to Dusk as well as to honor the efforts of the Shadow family and their contributions to Bura's emergence from under Empire control.

"Well Admiral, our first ship was set to go to an allied Navy, so I'd say it's a Verian Vessel. A Burian gift of to our Verian Allies, with your permission Admiral as the first ship was slated to join the Delta Fleet once it came out of dry dock" She replies.


Once the clean team returned she listened to what Shadow had to say, "We most certainly can put him to good use. Have him find CSM MacDoona, tell him LC Shadow and myself recommend him for special assignment. He'll know what to do with him."

Then there was the simple matter of the adoption authorization. "Absolutely, let's give Can a good home." She says accepting the vidboard reviewing the paperwork quickly and then applied her signature.

 Sam smiled at Sarah and said," Thank you Ma'am, Doctor Christie and Can thank you." Sam then sent the finalized paper work to the Burian Government, the Hermes Command, and Doctor Christie.

 Sam then sent Doctor Christie a text message: " Doctor Christie you and Val are now Officially Can's parents, Hermes command has also been notified. I am so happy we found a good home for Can thank you Doctor Christie that is all that matters is the children."

Nikki and Haley sat near the pond having a fun time having a picnic.  Haley enjoyed just having fun wading, running in the tall grass, falling getting dirty, climbing a nearby tree, and even picking a few pretty and nice smelling flowers too.  When the other kids came Haley ran and hugged a few she knew, and talked about being on Bura.   As she did that Nikki cleaned up the picnic and such to clean up and grabbed Haleys shoes as the girl ran bare foot.  They would enjoy the villages hospitality and join in as they could.
life was good until they had to go back to Hermes.
