John headed over to the group of troopers enjoying their banter.

   Shoey limps over  to  John,well?  how  did you like   your  frist run with the LC?.... you'll be seeing tunnels  runs, and that's a fact..The Largs  run in those  as well.

 he looks over, there are a  few   folks with dermaplast, or  slings  showing, but all  seem to be smiling...it can be tough. there's  some folks on the Hermes, still recovering from some  wounds or else  they would be here.. ..some  didn't have the  Guys...  and  The  Gava  took  some folks places who really wanted to come down, but had  duty.

"It seems risky putting so many pilots in danger at the start of a deployment but I'm sure the LT knows what he is doing." there was not any distaste or malice in the way he said pilot but it was clear he did not include troopers in his concern even though some were clearly injured.

 Sam smiled at the very tall and large Udenese woman, Sam checked if there was any messages left by Skiffle. Sam found that the Family that took Skiffle in wanted to meet Meari. Sam smiled and then said to Meari," Skiffle's new parents have made a request to meet you Meari." Sam was so happy Meari could meet the parents and see Skiffle again. Sam quickly using her tech magic sends Skiffle's parents Comm information to Meari's Comm unit.

  Shoey shrugs,there's always a risk? but if you take a poll of the pilots who got  shot  down and  had to 'run to the smoke'.. i think you'll find them alot happier  they did the runs..besides?.. we have Med techs, and  if  we lose some one, its not much differant then  dying  in battle. The LC is.....pretty hardlined  when it comes to things that matter...if you see him throw his rank around,, it must be pretty serious.

 Meari seemed very excited and very happy at this news that  the parents wanted to meet her, maybe to see if Skiffle was lying about her. It didnt matter she was going to meet the parents and hopefully get to say goodbye to Skiffle.

 Meari replied to Sam," Thank you very much Lt. Robertson I will call them right away." Meari then smiled at everyone and replied," I must make a call Skiffle the girl I helped save at the docks her new parents wish to meet me." Meari smiled at Lilith and Dusk, she then nodded to Lilith and Dusk, Meari was very happy for her cousin Captain Dusk.

 Once she said goodbye to everyone properly Meari went to a quieter area and gave Skiffle's parents a Comm call.

 meari  gets  a COM back, saying a Black   hover car  would be arriving  in about  10 minutes to bring her to thier  home

 in  10 minute s a  nice looking  black  hover car was   let through the    gates   and the  driver called  our  for a SGT Meari

 Meari talked with the parents and said she would love to visit. Meari then waited for the black hover car to pick her up. Almost exactly on time a black hover car pulled up and asked for her. She called out," I am Sgt. Meari." She walked up to the black hover car and will get in when it was ready too.

While talking to Melia a familiar voice came to his ear and he turned his head, a smile appearing on his face to see Harry there. "No, not at all," he said and reached out to snag her hand and gently pull her over. A quick kiss was giving to her temple because he looked at the bartender and pointed to Melia's cup and held up two fingers. He figured Harry would try and avoid anything alcoholic and the juice that Melia had gotten was in order.

"I am sorry that I don't think we have the time to go on that picnic, maybe next time? So how did your first day go?" While he didn't pull her into his arms, he did let his brush lightly up and down her back a few times before stuffing it into his pocket. "Me and Melia were talking about our respective pasts."

"True, but it was more the timing than the training, lots of bangs and scrapes today..." West said gesturing to Shoey's leg "...but nothing serious that I have heard about. But what if a pilot hurts themselves to the point they can not fly for the rest of the deployment. You are suddenly a plane down for a long period a bird suck on the deck that has to be dealt with and its not like they are likely to find one of us apes to take over."

A thought crossed Henry's mind and he turned to Val.

"Can was supposed to be coming to Bura. Do you want to find out where he ended up? Would you like to visit? He was a lovely youngster, and got on well with Mila as well."

 Sam smiled once Meari ran off to make her call and go see Skiffle, that made Sam happy. With finding out the status of Can Sam would now begin to look for Doctor Christie and Val.

   The  tender, go another  wooden mug of   the Buraberry juice , placing it   by Melia's  and  Nic's.

 the  drums  and horns were  blearing as  more songs  were striking up near the  cooking pits. And Villagers  danced with Crews,  and showed them some of the moves

 Many of the pilots  were  trying to sing along with Burain  lyrics, and had a hard time and  were laughing.

 some  SEC folks tried  as well , but most were learning  how to  play a card  game, that none of them seemed to be able to  win.

  near the Biggest   home was a Thatch  , crude  Fighter  Plane,  on some  poles, with  the number  19  on the   tail fine, and a very  crude  drawing of a  woman on the  nose.

  To West,  Shoey added,..there is a measure of  truth in that. But  we have spare troopers, and there are pool  pilots , and if  the  people  who take part in the run get hurt , badly?.. we have Med techs... there have been folks who died through the years  in Survival runs, just as there are folks who die in bootcamp... its  all part of our payday..right? Its a good measure  of a person  as well, if they show  up  and run, if they aren't ordered to... you know right off the bat whom you can trust.

She would offer Nic a relieved smile as he pulled her in and gave her a quick kiss on her temple before then ordering her a drink, with her happy to see that he remembered that she didn’t drink. When asked how her first day had gone her face would drop a little as she softly replied ”About how expected it to..I was essentially dumped in a corner and told to get on with it with no explanation on what I was supposed to do and then I patrolled the hold with the Gava” she said with a shrug that made it clear that she’d been bored to tears, but keeping to herself that she’d started fantasising about hanging herself from a bulkhead during the last hour as her depression had plumbed new depths.

She was a little disappointed that they wouldn’t have time for that picnic but not overly surprised, deciding that a drink that wasn’t from the rec dec and a walk in the fresh air was good enough for her. At the mention that Nic and Melia had been discussing their respective pasts, Harry would briefly hesitate before softly replying ”oh...um...you’ll forgive me if I don’t join in with that one” she said before taking a sip of her drink.

 Sam then saw Doctor Christie in the field with Mila and Val. Sam walked over to Doctor Christie and said,Hello Doctor Christie I am Lt. Robertson of the Burian Fleet , Can the boy you saw off at Everest wasn't adopted by a main family, one from the Village over there took him in and from reports he seems sad most of the time. I have all the information is you would wish to go see him before you leave.

Nic gave her an amused look and then shook his head. "And I bet you were grumpy about it the whole time," he teased and smiled at her. He sighed and curled a arm around her, giving her a hug. Which was really an excuse for him to hold her since she was so askance at showing anything that might boarder on public displays of affection. He wanted to say more but she had spoken up about not talking about the past so he let it be.

"Hmm, that's ok. Was there anything you wanted to get while we are here since the picnic was a no go? Or we can walk around for a little." Maybe if others saw her with him, maybe they wouldn't look down on her. Fat chance though. "Your choice," he added after taking a drink from his mug. They could do a lot of things and be touristy for a bit.

He didn't mean to ignore Melia, but she had gone quiet and Harry was here now too.

"Well no one ever needs to order me to run. I keep hearing about these tunnels and can't wait, I assume they don't let play on a planet every day.

 Lizzy smiled at Izzy and replied," Oh yes two tone black and red sounds great thank you." Lizzy takes the style she wants and then tells the person who came, " Can you make them two tone black and red leather, would that be possible?"

 The  Craftsman says,let us get your size, and you tell us  where you want the colors.... You only have another  1hour and  15 minutes before  recall, but, cast off is   2 hours  after?.. we'll get it up to you in the last   supply shuttles

   as he gets Lizzy  in a chair, he said,this would normally Cost 900 creds?.... but  :ady's revenge  has been awarded to a Captain today, so it  will Cost   500.... if you wish not to have  2  tomne?..it  will be   300, and we might have it  ready before recall.

 Lizzy smiled and replied, " Oh yes great you can size me, and I think black sides and back and red front then all red up the boot. Yes as long as you can get them on board that would be great." Lizzy took a seat so she could get measured, then she replied," Wow only 500, well scan me 600 that will be a tip for incredible craftsmanship and send them as soon as you can thank you very much." Lizzy smiled and was excited about the boots, she smiled at Izzy and said, " What you think Izzy?"

  The  craftmans   finished the  measurements,  and  made a   quick drawing of the boot  and  colors, then went in the Back , while the  woman scanned Lizzy's  wrist.

 There will be  some late shuttles going up, we'll make sure  the boots  are  on a hermes  bound shuttle.

  Shoey  smiles  as he  drank a bit of Buran beer, from a  tin cup.Tunnel runs  are one lap around  The Hermes Access tunnels, just about the  Officer's  Dec.... come out to a bit over  3 miles... normall one  Lap in  the egar you would have on a jump off.... its gets a bit  tight at the begining, but the  tunnels  are  wide  enough..the Largs  add some  entertainment, because  most of them lap us  3  times before  we finish.

"Bipedal movement has it's advantages.." West said turning his hands over and back subconsciously "... but speed is not one of them. Speaking of the giant dogs, where in space did they get dug up?"

Henry jumped up, beaming.

"Lieutenant Robertson, thank you. We were just wondering where Can ended up and if we could visit with him. Coming, Val?"

He made a note of the details and went off forthwith.

Mila's ears pricked up on hearing the name Can. She jumped up, dancing in excitement around Her Human as he headed off to the address provided. The tail was wagging, hard enough to become a blur.
