Sounds good boss

 this day isn't important  to any one But me and My players... this was the day the  foundations were laid    for " Beyond 2012 "... it is our game's  Birthday!...9 years old!!

 Everyone here  should  feel some pride in that fact, that we have  9 years   and counting..and our post count is  closing in on 100,000. With  Meaning  ful game  post...entertaining  OOC posts, as  well as  OOC posts of  support for each other when things  aren't  going good, or ….down right bad.

  Roy, has been here from the start, the rest of you, need only to look at  your  1st  PM ( RTJ) to see how long you have been here.

 over the years there have been scores ..the   GM thing  say 134  users ...those are the ones no longer here ..that  doesn't count the  8 still on the active  rolls.

  We have had  some folks  leave  quickly, the game was 'too much"..or  it 'wasn't enough"... we have had  folks like Ajax  and Apple  who started  out  as solid  players , but wanted to dictate  what the game was... they lost.

 we picked on Justin, but the early part of  his 'career' in the ESN..he did  well, I still believe  Apple  helped  'turn'  him ( which was sorta good, ebcause that brought us Flores ...The  Scots..but cost us  LAdy

 None of us here  have  sparkling  RL Lives..  sickness.  family problems..work  issues,and even money Issues … it  all boils   down to  effect us all..But those  still here managed to wade through it... Some?..could not.   Folks like   Stoly and Hunter, had the hardest hits  to be sure.

 those who have been hamstrung  by RL, have  contributed, and will again, once   the  dust settles for them... like thier crewmates on the Hermes... will be here  for them, and  welcome them, when they can take part again.

 In the end? The   game is here... YOU..the player s  helped  bring it to life... interactions...reactions  and characters  living their life  through a war on a galactic level.... its not  a Sim...its  not  an  arena  game, and its  not  a 'tales for two". almost everything  done effects  other PCs  and  dozens of NPCs...and ? they effect back? its  as close to   a movie/book as we  can get, with no scripts , only the characters making thier  way through thier  Lives.

 So... Its  time for  the 9 year Bonus!

Wow 9 years. I have been here working on 8 months and love it, ty Don for a great living game, that no matter what you do or don't do it effects the whole game, I mean Lizzy changing her name WOW. ... that changed a few things big time.

 now?...ther eis  room on the Gava -Felrite shuttle, both of them have lesser numbers then the bothers.

 Zob shouldn't  be bumped , he was there and ready.

 Outside of that,  the GM  won't interfer in the RP.

never mind..I just looked  you were already slotted in, that might have been when you PMed  me the first time as  we were sorting out   which  folks were goign as far  as assault  troops.

Was just putting it out there if the shuttles were completely full, i'm fine with it either way i get to kill stuff.

as  a player, that's  great.. as a character,  its not  right... the lists were up..communications  sent out  . But there are   some folks  we  can't  'make ' go..

 Melia  went, because   that's what she does...  CAt is  staying on Med tech, she could have went, but  is staying to   get ready  for the  aftermath.

 Piltos? didn't have a choice..

 SEC troopers  were   selected  by  Rop and me in PMs since 99% of them are NPCs..  Garrat mentioned  in PMs  that he was  about  to make it  back.. so we slotted him.... if  he couldn't  be here, then Garrat would have been  on the Hanger Dec.

 I think the RP  worked  rather  well, there is a bit of 'distain'  from the reporter, soem  PCs  and NPCs  don't care, others  just say...' alright' and walk away. Good  learning experience for a rookie  in the Fleet.

It's not just a matter of 'the shuttles are full'...she's had about as much advance notice as anyone else about this action.  Now, she may be used to it being assumed that she goes in with the troops, but Roy's used to stacking the shuttle full with combat personnel, so that's where the thought process went.  Had she said, at some point, "Hey, SM, I want a seat on the shuttle," no problem, I'd make one, and nobody would be the wiser about it.

But now that everyone's mustering out to board the shuttles, if Roy grabs someone and says, 'you stay home', EVERYONE sees that.  Keep in mind how grumpy Will and Lyri were about not going...and then amplify that by being right on the verge of going and then getting yanked out.  Everybody on the ship sees it, most know how disappointed and even cheated they'd feel.  And that's going to fall on the head of the person who takes the now-empty slot.  If I yanked, say, Wagstaff so Lyri could go, people would feel bad for Wagstaff, but Lyri's got enough of a track record that nobody would claim she was gaming the system.  If I pull him for a newcomer, that newcomer is going to face a lot of sympathetic resentment.  If that newcomer looks like they're trying to get special treatment, it's going to be a lot worse.

And, frankly, the only reason Roy's even considering it is because she made a decent impression during combat on Bura.  Were it not for that, there's no way he'd even consider pulling a trained trooper and replacing them with a reporter who may or may not be able to fight while getting their story.

Congratulations on the game's 9th birthday.

It appears that I have been here since December 2011, having been enticed over by Don from a football game, not sure if that was his football game or an earlier one we both played in.

But I am still here and still enjoying it :)

yeah, Henry, the football game is mine... there were two others  that died..one  was CFL, one  was  a ' new franchise'  in a new  Football league...both GMs  were great, they had lavish pics  of uniforms and the stadium ect..but? all that doesn't matter   if you quit your own game!

 Dec  2011.. so you  came in, near the end of the  1st year.

We need another IC football game soon its been a while.

Hawkeye first appeared in May of 2014 under her given name Catrina Price. Based on Hawkeye from MASH. This war shook her up in a way the Korean War never got to Hawkeye. She had to fight or die. The battle on the Avian mothership really messed with her mindset as she couldn't avoid committing vviolence without watching people die.

She's still trying to find her balance back
