Sorry I went quiet for a while...decided to spend some of my downtime building the Y-Wing model I've had sitting on my shelf for, like, five years.  It was quite a bit more complex than I was expecting...LOTS of little fiddly bits that really didn't need to be individual pieces, they could have been molded onto larger pieces.  But it looks pretty cool.  I still need to clear-coat a couple of parts of the finished model before I call it done...but I like that I got it done without any major mishaps in the construction, considering how long it's been since I built a model anything, and that the instructions are in Japanese and I had to work entirely from the illustrations (which were pretty thorough...but I had to take several breaks because my eyes were bugging out from scrutinizing the pictures.  If I decide to get back into building models, I really need to get a lighted magnifying lamp.  This was a weird blend of "I feel like a kid again" and "Damn, I'm getting old-man eyes..."

"on the  'bad'  end... Bo was killed when he was given  the 'last chance' roll after  mine was bad... Mine reader guy wasn't even close... Shade  was saved..not by a roll..but  by Teela. He was trapped on  the  crumbling   'cliffside' on Aqra  as Nikki and the other  shuttles  saved Will.. Shade  couldn't make the  Jump to the  shuttle   and   just saluted  the  aircraft as  it  went away... he tried , after it  went away.. to scramble up the deteriorating   rock slides, when  Teela     used her  wings  to  dive  down and  save him...( something i did not foresee, when it became apparent  there wasn't  anything  anyone  could do.....this also   made Shadow  get   Shade to start working out  in the tunnels and such.)"

and I still feel horrible about.

Todays  picture   shows  Todd Bend Lake , In Oregon .. nice  smooth water...  Evergreens on  each side  and   mountains   faded in the distance..

everytime i put pics up lie  this to see if  folks know where theya re, reminds me what my Dad said  about the Navy.. He would  say he was  from PA.. and  someone  would say 'you muct know my cousin, he's from Pa!..and proceed to tell him  that the cousin lived in a place  , all the way across the state.

..................

i haven't built  a model  for close to 20 years.. i did  help with a  Ship, but i hate the glue nowdays... i built WWI aircraft  and   had to get the  struts  in and top wing on, with  out   it   shifting  ( unless it was suposed to be shifted , like the DH-5 )

Well our city is now 'Shelter in place'.  unless you are 'essential' it is shut down.  a few things are open.  we can go grocery shopping and such and city services stuff.  I have to carry a paper with me stating I am essential for the hospital.  over hallf my crew is gone so working as I can.  talk is they may have us stay with a nurse at one of the entrances to help them record who comes in with what.  I mean all doors but the ER door is 'locked' but if you have a badge you can get in.  Some doors are kinda hidden though.  but even the HCP are getting screened now.

In reply to Billie Morrisson (msg # 29):

So do I.  only reason I went out yesterday was to get my meds and gas (not gonna be in a crisis with less than a 1/4 of a tank).  then came home changed and washed clothes and took another shower.  I am going here to work and back home.  got things set up for a change out.  luckily I can go from house to car now without slipping.

Yeah...here in Idaho...people are still having large gatherings despite the shelter in place order. Hell, I had a friend go in and be able to get a tattoo even though that place technically should have been shut! Like...WTF Idaho...get it together. I just want to go back to work with my kiddos and by them doing this, it prolongs that! Plus, it undermines everything that the healthcare workers and grocery store workers and all those other essential employees are doing to try and keep us all healthy and safe. So frsutrating...

I haven't left my house since 17 March bar one stroll down the road to post a letter. We use grocery deliveries, have done for years. Will have to go out in the next few days for meds, though.

Garrats back on.  The net crashed locally due to high usage from people having more time on their hands.  It took a while for me to figure it was back on, I just had to reset my home system.

I'd say busy weekend but it really wasn't

yesterday was down time with my wife, and then today was a 5 mile hike at one of the national parks nearby. It was damp and drippy this morning when we went, which was great since the sun was coming out when we got back to the trail head and found it packed. Since the gates were closed we were parked outside the gates along the road. A bunch of people were getting towed for parking on the opposite side of the street next to no parking signs. Still this shelter in place thing has people all over the outdoors right now, which makes getting a little fresh air feel increasingly hazardous.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of how busy the parks are getting from a persona standpoint.

Working on getting caught up now.
