if you every have seen  the  football comedy " The replacements".

 they have a  sumo wrestler, who in the begining   has to tell the  black line mane that he is  japanese  , not chinese...

  and the  the Kicker is Welsh... who guys  pick on him for being a limey  ect.. and he keeps saying "..I'm bloody Welsh!"

No, that was also the Japanese guy...the lineman was one of the gangsta bodyguards that shot up the regular QBs car for flipping over Keanu's truck...

 the two  body  guard brothers ( who were guard on the O-line!) called him chinese

 we  used  soooo many lines fromthat  movie..even my  wife  used to  say "good  for you"... or   tell me " go to work"

 I used the line  "... what are they going to do, put  you in football Jail?"  sometimes  subbing football..for whatever  the kids  were  worried about

 one of the Things  I would use to change  subjects when brother-inlaws' talked  stupid stuff... I would Point and say..oh? Look?  Bunt Cake!" and  walk away.. and depending on what the subject  was, My wife would laugh, or get mad..

::sigh:: now i have to watch it again!

And I should be set for masks at work for a while.  I know enough about patterning that I made an initial pattern for a fitted mask, decided it was too small, made a second, larger patter that was decent, but when I was having to wear it for hours at a time and talk a lot, it just wasn't working for me.  So I created a third, slightly larger pattern that I used for most of last week and really like (single elastic, worn below the ears, pulls it tight enough over the bridge of my nose and across my cheeks to minimize a lot of the fogging with my glasses, and it fits over my chin so it does a great job of contain ing my breath...lined with china silk so it's comfortable against my skin...and all the materials were scraps, either from home or work, so they haven't cost me anything.)

I've got eight of my Mk3 masks, a few of the Mk2s that I like well enough to keep using, and I'm doing laundry at work every three days, so I should never be in danger of running out of masks.

And one of my coworkers likes my masks enough that she asked me to make some for her...she's a lot smaller than me, so my Mk2 mask fits her like the Mk3 fits me.  So I cranked out eight masks in the last 24 hours, including time to watch two movies this morning.

And I really enjoyed The Replacements.  My other favorite football movie is Necessary Roughness...

I could probably be persuaded to crank out a few more...*grin*  But I might try lining them with t-shirt cotton.  The silk feels nice on my face, but it is a HUGE pain to work with.

The university is talking about delivering AT LEAST the first 5 weeks of the autumn term virtually, so I'm not sure when I am going to have to go to the campus, which involves an hour on the train each way. They've now made 'a face covering' mandatory on public transport. Fortunately a well-wrapped scarf is acceptable, so I will probably be seen in a large black and white shemag (looking like a member of the PLO) when I do have to venture forth.

 here is what is goign on..........

  the   Planet-station is  in the grips  of   plasma blowback and Burn...it  is quite obvious   four  Qarl ships on thier own, could not  make   the whole station..and outlying ships    'jump' all by themselves..right?

  The Plasma  burn back is inside the  Station, the   'egg' had  twisted in the  brief beginning of  a Jump, now After shocks   are goign across the surface..destroying   things in its  path like  a 'dirt tidal wave".

  The troops  are  getting out of thr Tunnel now... drop ship troops  are running back to thier  ships  the QM  ships   are   already rising...

 I will post in a bit?  But  it  would be assumed, that this  would be a great time for  fighters to  return to thier vessels , even  as the  hapless enemy is retruning to thier  'egg'...

 the only thing  going on right now ,( for our part)  is  Cap ship on Cap ship battle, since  they are unaffected  by the  dirtwaves...

 needless to say..from here out is all RP..
