That can happen real fast.  As I recall Teela had a friend lose her significant other that way.  It was a shock how fast it went.

I just listened to  the   post.. the guy who does the  posts was breaking up  as he read the  release  from the family..his voice  sounded  crushed, he's an insider, he moved from LA to Georgia, since it has  over taken LA   as the Prime Movie place...

i don't  know whether he is sad  as a Fan?  or if he knew him from working around the industry, but he was  realy  sad.

Re: OOC: # 27

While he's best known for doing Black Panther, Boseman had a really impressive body of work, and his passing is definitely a loss.  It'll be interesting to see if Marvel recasts the role (tricky, since there was such great chemistry in his other appearances in the MCU) or if they shift gears and rotate Black Panther out of the upcoming phases of the MCU (personally, I think they recast, but I wouldn't want to be the casting director who gets picked to make that choice).

But he did some truly brilliant work beyond that role, as well.  Sad to hear of his loss.

Re: OOC: # 27

When my Father was doing union protests in Seattle they actually went through training by the Union on how to maintain a peaceful protest.  It was part of the training to acknowledge there would be people hired to incite the crowd and force them beyond the perameters of peaceful protest.

Dad thought it was a bunch of conspiracy theory until he experienced these people bodily trying to redirect the protestors into off limit areas.  He said there are people who literally hire themselves out to get a protest declared a Riot then fade into the woodwork.

Re: OOC: # 27

So, one GOOD thing to come out of the whole Covid crisis...studios are so eager to get movies back into theaters that the second-run, discount theater where I work got two BRAND NEW, just-opening-this-weekend movies...from major studios!  The New Mutants (which I just watched, after everyone left--and actually rather enjoyed, although it's a VERY different feel from any of the other X-Men related films) and Bill & Ted Face The Music (which I'll be watching at some point in the next few days, even if I have to do it after hours again...)

I never expected to see major studio films in this theater on opening weekend...but, hey, this year has shown me a lot of stuff I never expected to see.  Our booking agent said she's going to see if she can get Tenet in another week or two when it's supposed to open.

And I posted on FB about it because I'm sure the studios and distributors are eager to get these films in front of as many people as possible and if we can actually make a pretty decent showing for attendance for these two, we may continue to get some new releases until the movie industry normalizes again.

Re: OOC: # 27

Oh, is the new Bill & Ted movie out at last? Quite enjoyed the first two (in a, when relaxing drink in hand and not wanting to have to concentrate way).

Hope everyone is staying safe and well. Yes, Lizzie, your Nancy sounds like a keeper... and to think you only met her 'cos you were ill! It's a strange old world.

Heard about the actor from Black Panther dying. Far too young. Of course the shrill are making much of his skin colour, but he was a fine and capable actor in his own right. Bowel cancer can be a bitch - lost 2 friends to it, a colleague who taught English and an excellent banjo player.

It is a long weekend in the UK, so of course it's gone cold and wet (well, cold but bright here but most of the country is being rained on). I must remember I have an extra day, there's a university holiday on Tuesday as well. Hard to remember not to work when going to work consists of which programs I run on the computer!

Oh, and it's time for a new OOC, Don, when you have a moment.

Re: OOC: # 27

that  guy from  'Everything Always' mentioned  who marvel  ( or anyone else  ) would have  to run movies  to  try to get thgier  Money.

I commented on his   channel , that Mulan was 'sacrificed'  in VOD, because it was supposed to be a blockbuster. For my take? Mulan isn't an MCU  movie, regardless of the   studios   and people who made it... they are testing the waters , in case they need to  get ..ANY..money, then they'll have to do  Black Widow that way...

But Balck widow  is somethign i have been waiting to see, its one  of the Movies  i might  go and be 'the weird old guy by himself"..this  week  , that channel  showed a theater, that some one  filmed the trailer of BW... and the announced date is  11-6!...so?  we'll see.

anyway, the guy at the channel said  , back  some months ago, that to get the money they think BW should get, they would have to show that Movie in all theaters , in a complex, to make up for  social distance  seating.

this is a good test of the waters... Roy's palce getting 'new  films' and a date  giving for BW...

.........

2 more posts  Mila! and I'll start another!

Thank you Mila she is awesome and yes I met because of my cancer, a very strange world we live in but everything happens for a reason. I cant wait to see the new Bill and Ted, and I really cant wait to see BW. Chadwick has been fighting the cancer since 2016 he did several movies between treatments and chemo damn that is dedication to his craft.
