Misleading headline...they're taking measures adopted by a few parks and presenting them as the current state of the whole industry.  They're also making it sound like these are permanent measures, rather than contingencies (You can't convince me that, once Covid has runs its course or we've got an effective vaccine for it, that Disney isn't going to throw the gates open wide...limited capacity operation is barely profitable enough to justify being open...there's a LOT of expected revenue that's being turned away).  Trying to go cashless has been an ongoing thing, for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with disease...this is just another layer of justification.

Yeah, pretty much all of those have impacted my job in some way...but they aren't going to last unless we are only undergoing the first of several successive diseases.  West Nile didn't shut us down.  SARS was theoretically going to kill a lot of tourism in Asia...but it didn't really have a lasting impact.  We'll be back to normal, it's just a question of how long.

Oof we decided to re-arrange our living room last night which cut into my posting time. So yeah we've hit that level of confinement where we're redecorating and rearranging rooms.

Been learning more about my new job which is fun. Online orientations suck.

I'm gonna work on catching up before I'm off to do my workout for the day.

I don't like  doing this, but i feel its  good  for you guys to know...so a Little peak behind the curtain

As the Vets know , this game contains Multiple  Plotlines, The main one, of course, is the war.

other     are out there..picked up by players..Missed  by players, and even started , by players....

this isn't a GAme where  "..Hey GM..I would Like to  find an alien weapon and use it  to turn the battel around"... i won't do it myself?..I wouldn't let other   do it.

this is a game where your Characters go through this war. suffering trhe bumps and brusies  caused  by it, and..sometimes..uncovering something, that may have normally been missed.

we are in a spot like that, right now...

IF.....Abby had  died on  the planet

IF..Abby had been killed at the ball

she  never gets to have a chance to escape..( even that was closer  roll then i thought!)

But..she escaped... and zipped  back to her 'boyfriend'..thus leading us to  find the  Planet/station, that we did not know was there

if   abby  does not escape... the Fleet is  in Everest right now...and  this sector would be in a differant state of chaos!

sorry again folks, work around the house has doubled if not tripled, a contractor scheduled for next week showed up at the doorstep t 0815 this morning and said ready to work, so i had to scramble to get one of the things finished to a point that he could begin, that made my schedule flip flop, then..... in the middle of the first job, our pest control guy shows up..... a whole 4 WEEKS early!!!1 told him ' not right now, come back next month", that was a scheduling snafu on their part and they have to deal with that... then.... the second job today that was supposed to be first thing this morning jumped up and  bit me in the arse section of my ASS..
so..... i'll work on getting caught up after I eat and grab a shower.

Kinda like how if Roles or Sarah wouldn't have sacrificed their ships at the different times there'd be way different outcomes to either  battle.

slick?.. you know the rule  here... " RL comes  first".. you went  away and came back!..you know we're not going anywhere..so relax.

..........................

well, for something  as Major  as 'the loss of the Hermes' and  only the gods know how many NPCs.. i sorta put it in the hands of a  couple players

( the justification was they were Pilots, so they had a chance to 'defend t' the Hermes with thier dice rolls.... The Harvester  was the only ship with in  range to help... had it  been a differant   captain.. i would have had  to weight the  rolls to saving thier own ships.

Only  Bornberry...Roles  and   Lily Van Ross ( who now leads  the Matterhorn )  are the only  'captains' i had that would   sacrifice  thier ship for the hermes.

needless to say, if the Admiral died  along with  alot of the MAin NPCs, the power Vaccum  would need  filled and the   Delta Fleet's  grind would be haulted for a bit.

..................

sarah's  ship  saved a  big stew pot of a mess as well..we'll learn more  as the Egg  head  release  info,

...........

 yep yep.. the Lizzy thing?

.............

Hannah  figuring out  how to use Ion dust, that Roy has  set up as  ..almost..standard issue.

..........
\
all of the above.. were not  'seen' by me..i mean?  i had  idea..but never messed  witht hem.... Players   truned them into something real.....

there are GM/DMs  out there  who would have said ' no you can't do that...", But? I play in this game too..so  any surprises   are good for me as well, because i get to have  the NPCs  react to whatever happened.

We haven't used the ion dust in a long time...of course, a lot of the situations we've been in could have meant the dust affecting us as much as the enemy.  I keep forgetting about that stuff...

Of course, with the Harvester out of commission, our primary source for it is gone for a while, so it's a good time to be stingy with it.  But this could be a good time to bring it back into use...

In the real world yesterday we had a marathon examination board determining degree classifications for 160+ final year students... which ran from 10:30am until 3:10pm!!! You'd not believe the amount of detail that goes into it all. I certainly didn't when a student myself.

I almost didn't want to play D&D in the evening, the thought of putting the headset on again for 3 hours wasn't appealing. We had a good time, possibly the climax was the bard playing in a tavern on his lute. He made a good performance die roll, so someone commented he must be playing something epic and mentioned Queen's We will rock you...

So another player found this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hwr9rLlDX1o

We instantly became fans and found loads more of their music and similar gems even after the game had finished.

had the crap scared out of me this morning....twice!
first was changing the fur babies food and water.  tossed out their old food and something in the garbage moved.  skittled sideways like a crab.  turned out to be a huge ass spider.  ones here are not usually big.  this one was about the size of a penny.....damn huge for here.  atleast he is in the garbage.  toss his but out!

second...sigh! One of my 'precious' furbabies just became a cold blooded killer.  found his/her victim on my porch.  house wren.  apparently one of my two likes poultry.  Still stepped out on my porch to watch the sun come up and thank god I had slippers on because I...stepped on it.  made a horrible crunch and it made me jump.

I'm skitterish today so...I'm gonna go back to bed.

I used to change trains at an odd little station rejoicing in the name of Smethwick Galton Bridge, in a sort of 'urban wasteland' part of Birmingham (the UK one, not Alabama!). Sometimes a rat would come out of the undergrowth when it was quiet, wander down to the platform edge, look up and down the line as if he was looking for a train, then wander back into the bushes.

Then one day there were a couple of young women waiting for a train. A rat came out, moving at high speed straight over one of their feet. The amount of screaming that resulted would have made you think one of them had been murdered. Hadn't even been bitten... but it took ages to calm them down. I asked if they were OK.

"A rat ran over my foot!"

"Yes, but are you all right?"

"A rat ran over my foot!"
