Re: OOC: # 27

::chuckles:: just read the 'shopping  part"...

we have had this over the years as  far as Age stuff goes..so I'll go over it again.

............

if you take the aliens out of the equation , people are living a very, very long  time  because of Angel food... the  stuff is in  food , water..and  was spread  over the earth   to  animals  would  eat it, and live longer, produce more  ect ect ect.

the  effects on  life forms are there...

1... live longer... The  later  generations  live longer the the early generations... it builds on itself, until we peak.

2.. Kids  'age ' at thier Normal rate until they reach around  18-20..then they slow  down an  person who was  in one of the last gens will look younger then thier age,....

because of this , wristchip scans  are required  for  Marriage( mating if you are hooking up with  alien )..to confirm age

3...some Gens  don't  get the full value  of  Angel Food right away.. ( linked to the 'space  gene')  People Like Henry, Bale  and CAptain Morris didn't  'take  ' right away... when it took ..it  did lock on ( Angel food is invasive)  so?  they may look a little older then  most folks, they are spry and healthy...

...............

so?.. when  Izzy dresses up like a school gril, she will be perceived  as a school girl, and   differant   NPCs (PCs?)  will have thier own take  on what she is.

another Example of perceived ..

Hack looks like he is in late  30's   early 40's  but he is closing in one  90

Jumping Lion is  only  21, just a year out of bootcamp. he looks like   18 years old or so,( accept maybe  for the Muscles )

Red Water  is 40.. he doesn't look much older then  25-28

Shadow is 27-28.. he looks to be right in that area...Roles is the same

Beth, is 27-28..she looks  more like fresh faced  21-22

Lyri is 29 ( just ahead of Shadow at the academy, but  left to  bootcamp after harrassment) she looks  around 25

 Hennings  is Like  Hack..

Bale look like he is in his 40, but is  pushing 100

Rivets  looks  35 or so and is  pushing 90

Morris  is 50..he looks like  40 or so

ect, that's why  SEC  doesn't use   age  'markers'  for  targets  or suspects..unless  a person looks older.. they might say "older looking

One  of   the best  weapons the Lights out  has, is perception ...no one  thinks  Beth is as deadly as she is... no one things  Hack , who has  enough papers in his  personnel  file for Izzy to sit on  so she can see over the dash board!!

Its a shame that Justin left when he did..i could see Justin and Izzy hooking up! the who 'youth thing' going...not liking people on The Hermes...

Ooooh, that would have been an interesting moral dilemma for Justin...does he buddy up to the other person who gets crap for being so young?  Or does he hide in his quarters again because she's in a homosexual relationship that makes his skin crawl?  (Of course, unlike Justin, Izzy actually has a plausible backstory...)

To be fair Izzy was initially going to be nineteen until I realised that the maths didn't work at which point another two years got added, though even then it's a little tight.

Re: OOC: # 27

yeah Izzy?... i used to have alot of   'heated' PMs  with Justin, because  he wasn't supposed to be  so young.

he would use that  as a deterrent ( and threat? ) to the game  as him being a Minor.

after  the? 57th time of having   the argument  ( that poor Roy had to hear vents for )..I laid it out.

1..no matter how   smart  he was, he wasn't getting into the Academy until late 16 early 17 years old...

2...Academy would  be ..AT LEAST..4 years ( Shadow did  4  1/2 thanks to Frans dad)

3.. at the time of the Birthday party we had  for Justin ( to make in canon in the game) , the Hermes  had been in The Black  for 5 years

so?... assuming  Justin was younger then Shadow, Flores , frans  ect... 16+ 4 is  20... we'll say  3  years in the Black..is  23..

I used GM powers  to 'make it so'.. i think this  lead to his whole., " see if i can get players to leave the game  while i sit here a snark"

Now?  we  do have  kids  running around...all of them are NPCs .. except  maybe Orria  and Haley  are Semi-PCs..

You go back to the old days of SGT Rock.. 'Ice Cream Soldier' was young, but he was 'of age'

SGT Fury  and his Howling Commandos  ( the real ones from comics)  had 'Junior  Juniper " he was  the youngest ( got killed too!) but he was of age

The  old Blackhawk comics  had people from all over the world.. thier youngest can't  remember his name, was also  'of age'

bottom line?.. mercs  and Militia  might hand  guns to Kids... Nifty  and the Stem kids  had to fight thier whole lives?..but that isn't  a person who   went through the academy, or boot camp .

Re: OOC: # 27

Yeah I was kind of going for more of a "fresh faced recruit" vibe with Izzy rather than "Lied about my age in the recruitment office" so I wasn't worried about adding the extra years on her.

Where the Angel food was concerned I wouldn't have thought it wouldn't take too much effort to spot a real twenty year from a forty year old that looks twenty, mainly because they would act and behave differently. There would probably be other subtle tells as well if you knew what you was looking for.

Re: OOC: # 27

I don't remember if he actually said it once, or if I just got the i.pression so often that it became a Phantom memory, but I seem to recall Just8n presenting the idea that his character was such a child-prodigy that they started him at the Academy at 12 or 13...which would NEVER happen, unless he was a phenomenally fast-maturing kid, because a 13-year-old wouldn't even be able to reach all the cockpit controls effectively.  He could have learned to fly a civilian aircraft at that age, maybe...but nobody is going to teach a kid that age how to fly a fighter unless they're in absolute desperate straits (Japan was trained ing some pretty young pilots by the end of WWII...but even then, at that point, they were training them mostly for kamikaze attacks, not to try and engage enemy fighters in aerial combat...)

And even then, Justin mysteriously managed to not age AT ALL, by his own reckoning, no matter how long he'd been aboard.

Lizzy's asshole Father taught her how to fly civilian and fighters at a young age but he was a fighter pilot so.... but she still went to the Academy and everything else and just turned 26.

Re: OOC: # 27

Probably not without risking losing the game due to flagrant penalties...

Besides, I think it's more impressive to say, "We beat their entire squad" as opposed to "We crippled them to the point where they couldn't play anymore and therefore, we won."  Of course, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't hit them hard enough that they maybe say, "Hey, Coach?  Send in the second-string guy...I think I'm done for today..."

True, though the whole alignment thing is still there it’s just instead of it being Shadow is Chaotic Good therefore he must act like this, it’s more a case of Shadow acts in this particular way therefore he’s Chaotic Good. I did sit down and try and figure out the alignment’s of the cast (yeah I was bored) and if memory serves most people were Chaotic Good except for Harry, Izzy and Roy.
