so?  just now, My oldest grandson left..he came down, announced  about an hour  ago, he was  all bummed out..it appears the GF he had since  his freshman year of Highschool, broke up.

  He came down to talk, and gave him what 'Pap pap' Advice i could. She was a cheerleader in school, and got into cheering at the  Community college . My grandson goes to UPJ  which is  right  across the road ( and both are near the stadium we play pick up games every Sunday)

 I pointed out, that  she  was in a differant  world then Highschool now, and all it would take  was for   her friends to introduce her to 'party people"... she would be  the 'new thing'  and   it  would test her ability to fight temptation.

 I pointed out , he would  now have more time, money  and can do more stuff  on his  own...we went out  and threw the football and he left rather Happy.

 It was sad to see the hurt look on his face, but it was good to see him smiling when he left....

its all we can do is chat with them right? but it hurts non the less

Sometimes we just need to be there for them.

Somehwat similar with students. I count it a win if they leave my office smiling, whatever state they were in when they arrived.

Just a update ive been feeling a bit better so i should be back in the swing of things by the time the ball starts.

get a sheet of  paper, lay it  down longways  ( east and west)

draw a line  from the  left to the  right a  few inches up... that is the beach.

the left end  is the 'space end" of the beach... the right  end is the
Stem  end"  ( its opposite  in the uppers)

about  3/4s  to the right,, draw a line   done the  beach ( North and South) that is where  the  boundary for the beach party is on the 'stem' side.

 3/4 way up from the space  end ( to the right)..is the Vollyball pits, close to the  grass.

 Garrat's  stalls, and most of the   eats and drinks  are  at the 'space end '...that is also where   Roll and Haley are playign   and  where Shadow   and most of the hermes  folks were   using for thier towels.

Zob is  comign in on  his Bike near the Vollyball pits

 The  confrontation is takign place in the water, down from the Volley ball pits..but  closer to the 'Stem  end'  Boundary.

  Shadow and Roy went up there to  'chat' with the new guys.. as the  confrontation started..people are gathering aroudn, who were already there, while  those who have mentioned it are  runnign  'up[ the beach"

   IS camp would be space end of the beach so the Gava and the Occui would be coming along the waters edge from there.  The swimmers would be coming around from there but would be slower in water.  Garrat would be coming from the stalls and the furrys from the volley ball area.

   Tell me who reaches first.

got back a bit  ago... we won 35 -0 against  ( another) arch rival.

we play another school for the  1st round of playoffs next week at home, since we won.

Oddly, I find that being a trained drill sergeant has given me the ability to fill a lecture theatre without shrieking, it seems that Henry has reversed the process to use a voice honed in the lecture theatre to deliver a drill sergeant style tirade!
