Roll  smiled at henry...Mila  is a Furry Larg...  Disna  reached over and Fuzzed Mila.

  Gregor  walked slowly  over towards  Tess and the wiggling Thor.. tess   gave  him a stare as he lowered  down and sat by them.

 I think Tess is  mad  at gregor  for pushing  Thor  back down the hole all the time.

 Cora grinned sheepishly at  Zob, Will looked a little  red himself  but was smiling.

 Ellen  said in a  partly sad  way,yeah..some  girls get all the breaks.

Roy gave Shade a reassuring grin.  "He's just making sure the site is appropriately watched, I'm sure.  His first duty is to make sure the Admiral's detachment gets safely to the Hermes...but it's not his only duty.  And he's got plenty of help on the ground.  He'll be fine."

His grin broadened slightly.  He'd told an awful lot of people through the years that the one place Shadow might be even more dangerous than in the cockpit was on the ground.  Either way, he had supreme confidence that Shadow would be okay.

Mila walked along quietly beside Her Human, trying not to spook the briss. She wagged her tail when He mentioned her, and wagged it even harder when Disna started to make a fuss of her, circling and licking his fingers.

A giggle escaped her lips, a slight blush coming to her cheeks as she recalled her and Arnie going to ‘watch Vids’ and where that led. “No judgments here,” she said with a knowing smirk as she reached up to tuck a stray strand of reddish-brown hair back behind her ear. It seemed that Will had moved on rather quickly from the break-up with Harry but as she had said, she wasn’t going to judge him since she didn’t know the real particulars as to why they split…then again, it was also none of her business. Billie had made it a point to try and stay out of the drama circle. "I am thinking of hitting up the Pulse...if Arnie wants to."

   Garrat was patrolling for more downed craft when he heard about the commotion where the Largs were exercising and went to investigate.

Nikki, Haley, and Mitch wandered about the market.  There were other crew members about as well.  Nikki made sure Haley stuck with them and did not wander far.
"Rather dismal looking area.  Looks like rebuilding will take them some time" she said  "Anything you're interested in Mitch?"

  Garrat is   near the  southern  edge of the   field, close to where   Shadow and   Larry  were  rolling  around in mock  combat.

  Garrt sees  a bloody  Roussian knife, the blood is  slick and greens blue.

 Mitch  shrugs,..these smaller  town   seem alright ... the cities  will grow  faster then you think, Level out the  jagge d  edges, they'll re-purpose  some of the ruins Engineers wil start  Poppign up Metacrete  wallks....thgis  will be the hot  spot  for the transport  industry..brining  in  applainces  and Med tech  stuff...  Admiral Henning's  Girl Friend  is gonna be   one   rich  chick.

 Looking  at Haley and Nikki, you guys wanna eat, or  shop ? what?

   His eyes narrow.  Garrat does a careful circle around the area before descending for a closer look

"Why do you say his companions gonna be rich?" She thought about it but really didn't know who his girlfriend even was.  "Not really seeing anything of interest to me here.  Rather looks depressing" she looked at him and kind of shrugged.  She knew some places would be like this.  Not all could be like Veria or Uden, though maybe soon it might be.  She looked to Haley "Anything interest you?"
"What's that mean 'inner-rest'?" she asked
"Does anything here you want to see or do?" she replied
Haley thought about it then shook her head.
Nikki turned back to Mitch "I think it might be a wash for us.  anything you want to do?"

over her comm she heard Shadows voice 'All pilots!  Tunnel run 0800'.
When it was off and she was not sending anything she looked at Mitch "Oh fun.  Just because I had a sense of direction knocked outta me"

   Entering the Town, Mitch said,well? we're here... we can take a look at the stores

 Some of the Tall angular lookign Roussians walked past, some looked neutral others   tried  so give them a smile, thier elongated   heads swaying a bit.

 He   grabbed    Haley's  shoudlers  and   steered her    up a couple steps into a  shop.

  Inside the shop  were all manner of Roussian toys.. some   'stuffed' creatrues  that were furry, some  were  smooth.  there were Roussian action figures  and   aircraft...there  were some    scarely lookign  monster  types...there where  games  that had  Hexagonal balls   with   hex  shaped  holes  that they had to be tossed through..and.of course, lots of Vid games  and   books..

 ..Pick out  something?... anything you want..its on  me.... As    he   left Haely and  Nikki he  went to the back of the shop   where   there  were odd things on the wall...

 from his bike, Garrat  couldn't see too much, he could  barely see the Blade in the  ground but the  sun caught it  enough t, that the glint caught his  eye.

   Garrat sees  the   mix of Green , brown and   purple trees... the  field  is  torn up by craters  and Larg  claws.

 the   Roussian  dagger  has  blood on it, most of it  dry, but  some a bit damp  yet. He can see the  trial leading from the  forest ,  the  seal ring of  dermplast laying in the grass.

Nikki looked at Haley and Shrugged.  Haley shrugged back.  They browsed the store for a bit.
 Finally Haley found a small wall toy of one of the cat-snakes that you stick to the ceiling and then pull down on and watch it move back up.  As it would sinewly climb up little chime like bells would play a tune.  Nikki agreed it was kind of cute in a way.  She'd still walk about with Haley and see if there was anything else as they waited for Mitch to see what he picked out.

   Mitch came  abck  with  , what looked  sorta  Like a  Guitar, it had two sets  of  strings.. , one set was almost like  a guitar... the  other  set ran through  the bottom of the  Hollow  back end. The   clerk was  hustling after  him to give him a sling.

  The clerk did  turned to   Nikki with a  smile, her  Roussian accent thick but pleasant.,,It is  called a Victa... the  string here, are much like the Human instruments... the ones in the bottom, add resounding  sounds,  to be ..almost like a powered  instrument... people in our   backlands use this, so as not have to use powercells.

 Mitch was smilign and he pointed  to Haley's   toy and held out his wrist.

   Garrat gets on the com.  First to the IS:  “Garrat here, found a little mystery where the peace signing occurred, while I’m at it we might as well get a little hunting in for the larder.  Send a couple boys to stretch out those Vampic Mechs.  We’ll have them hang back for now but better safe than sorry.”

    Garrat coms Spencer “Hello Sgt. Major. I’m at the signing field and it Looks like you Had a little excitement and picked up a wounded critter.”   Garrat looked into the woods “My question is what could scare a wild creature enough for it to run into the arms of strangers.   Did you see anything in the woods?”

Roy's response was terse.  "Well, first off, it wasn't a wild animal, it had a collar on, so it has had handlers and is used to people.  As for what drove it out of the woods...damned if I know.   We've only looked at the planet for less than a day, that wasn't down a gun barrel, so there's a helluva lot we don't know...and there weren't exactly a bunch of Roussians around to ask, they left after the signing.  Nifty saw the briss leaving the tree line, the largs didn't go after it.  Dr. Christie did, in his own way...but, like you, we were concerned about what might flush a briss out of hiding...so we packed up the brass and left.  Air cover didn't see anything to shoot at.  So, your guess is as good as mine."

Nikki blushed a bit.  It was a very thoughtful gift.  One well appreciated.  "Thank you Mitch.  Very thoughtful and lovely to get" she held the Victa a moment and kissed Mitch.  Turning to the shop clerk "Lets get it stringed and we'll see how it plays."  she said softly.  Haley was excited and now completely forgotten about her dino with no legs.  For a few moments she watched and learned how to change the strings, similar to how to do so with a guitar.

With the strings and strap helping Nikki gave a strun on the normal side (atleast what would be normal for 'terrans'). Then picked and strummed a tune.  After a few moments she then tried the 'resonating' portion.  it's deeper echo sounds were excellent and rather complimentary.

   “Thank you sir, was hunting for wrecks in the area and thought I’d swing by.  One thing led to another, I figure if my people need to hunt this area would be as good as any.   Thanks for the intel.”

There was a noncommittal grunt from the other end of the connection.  "Most of the aerial combat took place over the mountains, not the plains...granted, salvage would be easier on the plains, but you're more likely to find stuff up in the hills.  Most of the pilots who got shot down were running onto the plains to get picked up."  There was another pause, then a more cautious tone.

"Sure I'm preaching to the choir...but keep your eyes open up there.  Like I said, we've got less than a day of information on this planet as anything other than a military target.  I think Dr. Christie tried to talk with one of the Roussians about the planet and just got a bunch of the typical "how can I help such an inferior lifeform" bullshit that we always get from any of the Empire allies, so we know next to nothing about the native flora and fauna and there could be a lot of predators out there that we just didn't have any trouble with because of all the bombardment.  They'll be disoriented by all the shelling and the way the landscape's been changed, might be hurt...could be a lot more aggressive."  There was a soft snort, and then, "Or they may have all run for the deepest reaches of the back country and won't be seen near any of the population centers for years.  No way to know..."

She hoped the store proprietor enjoyed the tune.  "I love the depth of resonance.  It will carry the tune further" she said rather appreciative of the instrument and of Mitch purchasing it.  "You know this means we are officially dating , right?" she said in a playful way "I'll have to make you dinner one night now that I have some semblance of a kitchen." she suggested.
Haley chimed in "Oh....how about real fried chicken and cornbread?  really home style"
Nikki looked at Haley "Maybe...maybe a mulligan stew.  Or ...how about stuffed porkchops?" she was thinking of several dishes.

 Mitch  chuckled,stuffed  porkchops  sound good... but so does  pasta  and meat balls... or pizza....Maybe Mushroom soup?

   He headed to the doors...where  to know?  or  do you want to chow of your  Viocta on the rec dec?

"How about the latter.  I think Haley wants to know about the Briss thing and seeing 'snittens'.  She stated.  She remembered how ...rough Roussian food was.  It was made for sterner stomachs she thought.  "And I can show off the Vita you bought me.  We could split a pizza if you like, plus we can talk" she smiled at him.  With a wink they began a trek back to the shuttles.

   The  caught  a Hover  van headed to the field, Mitch  said,..we can, can't  stay up to late. I'm not great  at Tunnel  runs trhe way it is... can't afford to go through there
 half  asleep.

"That's okay...have a feeling Shadow will be out for me when I crashed.  could of made the landing, butI couldn't leave Lizzy out there alone" she shrugged.  "We can eat, relax.  go to bed early.  and tomorrow Haley can go to school and not sure if I am on duty but maybe get some painting on my Mantis done.  Are you allowed to paint your Torpedo?" she asked.  Soon at the shuttles going back up to the Hermes.
