Re: OOC  # 31
Sorry had a RL emergency yesterday.  Someone ran over my cat.  She is alive, but has a broken leg.  Spent most of the evening in pet ER and can come home on cage lockdown.  She'll survive but I need to figure out best options.  amputation or a plate put in.  Gotta go buy a cage

Izzy and Harry are  juggling RL stuff, don't be afraid to move a bit, drag them with you if  you must?

...........

poor  cat... i had two really great cats  go missing.. i assime  one ended up at  the lcoal  chinese place?...its not a joke, there were several places in the Johsntown arewa that got  busted for  'extra chicken'... we had  alot of trailers in my area, after the  flood ( most were finally taken away)..but there were scores of cats...when my best cat, named  after my Fav  elf-character vanished, we notcied there were only one  or two cats roaming around!!

anyway...hope the poor  kitty gets  better..we always had to  lean towards  'dollars' if somethign bad  happened.

Yea, i lost my kitty of 13 years last october to natural death though it wasn't a painless one sadly. I think she had a heart attack in my lap. I raised her from a sick kitten so that really hurt. I hope your kitty is good. There's a lot of cute Tripod kitties i see all the time and if it is for the best, it wont impact her too much if you do decide that way.

Re: OOC  # 31
Sad news, indeed.  Ironically, perhaps, I think if it's a house kitty, it has the best odds of adjusting to a plate, while at the same time likely having the easiest time adapting to an amputation.  I would, at a guess, say it depends largely on the nature and location of the break...a clean break, or even a couple of breaks or a spiral fracture would probably heal well with a reinforcing plate, but if it was a crushing break, the odds start getting long.  Hopefully, you have a good vet who will lay out the odds and costs plainly for you.  That helped a lot when we had to put my horse down.  I already knew I couldn't afford a costly series of procedures, but when the vet stated that the odds were extremely likely that she wouldn't respond well to them, given the absolute lack of progress she showed with the initial treatment, it was a lot easier to make that choice (especially given the way she absolutely loathed veterinarians and medical treatments)...

I hope your kitty comes through strong!

it's kinda hard to post at these balls when your dance partner is caught up in IRL, aside from stating im dancing and having a drink and eating food not sure what else to do.

If nothing comes up i may just put myself in the background until the ball is over.

Re: OOC  # 31
Bittersweet day today...it was my aunt's funeral.  I have some very fond memories of her and my uncle and their family...Uncle Jack was always the closest to my dad, not just in age...my grandparents died when my dad was still in his mid-teens, and Uncle Jack basically took care of him until he was an adult...bought a service station and gave him a job, they cut each others' hair for decades (for most of my life, the only people I ever saw my dad get his hair cut by were Uncle Jack and my older brother, who started filling in for Uncle Jack when his schedule didn't allow for convenient times to do hair cuts).

Jack died a few years ago, aged 92.  Aunt Lillian died last week, aged 91...and while her physical health had faltered in her last few years, she had sharp wits to the very end.  So, it was a relief to know that she was no longer hampered by a body that was failing her...and it helps that I have strong religious beliefs that support the concept of an afterlife where we will unite again as a family.  The hard part was watching my cousins' kids struggling with coming to grips with her being gone...the funeral was beautiful, but at one point, they had all of Lillian's grand-daughters (and grand-daughters-in-law) stand up and sing a song as a group...which was lovely, but poignant to see the moments where some of them were overcome and couldn't keep singing for a while.

It's also a little alarming that, for that generation of the family, my mom is the last one left...The Last of the Mohicans, as my older brother put it at one point.  And while she is in generally good health, time is catching up with her.  She didn't go to the grave-side ceremony because she no longer trusts herself walking on uneven ground...she can get around her house (slowly) without a cane but typically uses one, and definitely doesn't leave the house without one.  And while I've been taller than Mom since junior high, I'm definitely noticing that the differential is increasing...and it's not because I'm getting taller.

My oldest brother made the observation that, out of that generation, the oldest was my Aunt Nelda (tied with Uncle Jack), who died at 92...and Mom's only got to last six more years to have lived longer than any of them (Dad died in his mid-60s, almost 25 years ago...if he was still here, he would be 92 this year--and probably still praying to die a fast death before he got too old and frail to take care of himself.  He got his wish, in that regard).  I like her odds...but six years is a frighteningly brief span of time, at the point in my life.  It won't be much longer and that generation will be gone...

Cheery thoughts, I know, but it's been gnawing at the back of my mind all evening and I had to get it out somewhere.

it  doesn't matter  who reacts first.. i will take all posts into accpount.

Normally , Shadow  would  have barged in, but  his rolls had  him further on the dance  floor....his intentions would have been seen  well before he  gotthere, and Gia is closer to the  main stairway out

The goal is to time it in conjunction with Roy's approach as its more IC for Zob to do and that determines how i will approach the situation.

So im willing to wait a bit.

Meari is with Zob and will react when he reacts, but we are behind the taller Etna guy, is he our height?

But Don if you make a post  and they attack Gia, Meari will react violently and unforgivingly.
