This will teach me to not look for a day x.x two pages went through jeeze.

And I was in OK when those earthquakes hit. Epicenter was less than 10 miles from my house. And I thought they were joking about tornadoes sounding like trains. That really did sound like a train.

never  saw a  real tornado..though i think we  drove through the fringe of on , on the way home from a bowling torney once.. my buddies wife  parked the car under the tree, because  the rain was so bad... i told her to move  beofe  somehting bad  happens..., the  tree   cracked in half  and fell, right where the  car was...

lets  see?..about  10 years ago, there was a 'little  quake ' here..never had one before.. the house shook and stiff..turns out if  was centered  by DC?...

i've been in  a flood..that's enough for me! You guys keep your  Earthquakes!

Had a decent quake here oh 20 years ago, but it is the Blizzards we get here. I remember the Blizzard of 78 I was 10. We got 3 feet of snow and it hit fast and hard we had no warnings back then. The forecast was for flurries.... lol My friends Mom was trapped in her car on 95, lots of people got trapped in their cars, the highways where snow covered parking lots. My brother tried to bury in the snow.

Then got a big blizzard about 10 years we got over 4 feet but it fell in like two days and we had a lot of warning.

Lol

So i've been in blizzards and whiteouts, hurricanes and tornadoes, earthquakes and forest fires. Pretty sure i got the whole shebang of dangerous weather conditions titled "Mother Nature's finest fury." Guess im glad i've missed the tsunami but i've been in floods. 20 years ago when Dennis and Floyd hit NC and Dennis the menace came in for a second look. My town was a dry island in the middle of things flooded north, south, east and west.

Yea there was a freak ice storm in 87 in NY in Oct(2nd week) I was at a camp and we were stuck. Fire and rescue had to do just that for us. But when i was 26 a snow storm hit eastern NC and droped like 1.5 feet in a half hour. I had just moved from NY and was driving around in it. The light fluffy stuff really. Ppl in 4x4s were going slower than me :D

Dumbest thing though was driving through Raleigh going home while the eye of Fran was over Raleigh. Surprised I made it home during that. I could have gotten hurt.

My  Oldest In FLA   has  Dodged a few Hurricanes.. one of them, he went up to Jacksonvillie to saty with a friend...

Youngest daughter is in  NC in Elibeth city. a few of those went right around  her, , just got some  heavy water..there is a  canel or lake near her.

The Funniste thing, was my Oldest when she was  with her  1st husband.. they lived  SC and he  had lost a job, they had  one kid  and one on the way.

there was Snow  down there.. I remeber , it was my day off and i looked at  vids on  the internet.. cars all over the  place  , including a coupel mail triucks..but you could still see the grass!!

anyway, they were closing stuff, and my daughter  worked  at  a facility that the  nurses and stuff  had to stay there... she came into work , like..8 months preggers.. , this other ladies  ran out to the car, " what are you doing!.. how did you drive in the snaow?"

she looked   around, shrugged and said,"..In PA?  we call this frost!"
