Meari stayed behind the rest she didnt run full out if she did she would pass everyone easily, just with her longer strides. Meari helped Nims up and back into the race, Meari stayed right with her and they both came in last. Meari would never leave a teammate behind even in training.

 Meari got everyone ready for target practice, she nodded at Nimms as she took her lap and putting up the targets. Meari would wait for Tarja's orders on how they were going to run this one.

As Meari and Velta ran their extra lap Tarja would join the others as they laughed and joked with one another with Penny’s collision with the wall being the main source of amusement. Once the entire team was together again and the targets set Tarja would speak up in order to get the next part started ”ok, pair off! Each team of two will take it in turns to run the course…the team with the fastest time and the most strikes on target wins” Tarja instructed, giving them a couple of minutes to choose teams before then saying ”Penny your team goes first…on your marks…go!”

 Mear1 would pair up with Velta and say," Lets show them we make a great team shall we Velta." Meari and Velta would wait for their turn to go.

With Penny and Belle competing against one another, Tarja would pair up with Belle, with Penny and Art Paskins beginning their run; firing their weapons as they went ”You take left I’ll take right” Tarja suggested to Belle as they watched Penny and Art go with it looking like they were doing reasonably well. Penny was much faster than Art was, but Art was more methodical with his firing meaning that he generally hit what he was aiming at ”Meari, you and Velta will run last to give you chance to recover” Tarja said wanting things to be as fair as possible.

  Got it....    Belle  spun up her  Mini  gun  to set  the revs....

  Belle  would    take  off ,  brining her weapon to bear low  on the   target and let it  ride  up

As soon as Penny had commed to say that she and Art had cleared the course Tarja would signal for them to start their run ”ok let’s do this” Tarja said as she broke into a run down the right hand side of the tunnel her minigun roaring to life as she opened fire on the first target.

She wasn’t able to run as quickly as she had previously but she still made good time with her, allowing the suits targeting system to do most of the work as she fired upon the targets as they sprang up in front of her.

Once she and Belle had ran the course and was just on the return lap she send a comm to Meari ”ok Meari we’re clear, start your run”

 Meari and Nims got ready, Meari smiled at her and said," Ok now follow me, I take high you take low we both get the middle. Now lets go kick some ass." Meari knew Nims was a good warrior she needed to know this herself.

 Meari and Nims then went down the course as a team and worked together as a team, Meari's minigun tore through target after target. Mearo hoped Nims could stay with her and they would do incredibly well. When done Meari looked at Nims and looked at the scores and where they stood.

Standing with the others Tarja would wait until Meari and Velta had returned before reviewing the data from the targets with her eventually after much deliberation pointing to Penny and Art ”Penny and Art get it by skin of teeth, but results are very close which is even better…and definitely better than last time we ran” Tarja said with a note of pride in her voice over how her teams skill was improving with Penny and Art only three points ahead of those in last place making it a very close run thing. Though Tarja still quietly hoped that the teams overall scores would continue to improve ”Ok unless anyone wants to go again I say we clean up and go to rec dec for lunch” Tarja would then say, looking about the team to see if they were happy to call it now or carry on training for a while longer.

 Belle   said,I'll do another Lap  , then cash in,  I want one more free run.

”Ok, I may join you…I’ll meet those not running on rec dec at our usual table” Tarja said before beginning to run with Belle and any of the others that wanted to join them. She wouldn’t go as quickly as the first run with her instead picking a steady pace she could maintain forever if she so chose, allowing her mind to wander as she did so.

Once she’d completed her lap, Tarja would head out the door and towards the hangar dec.

They would cross the hangar dec at a steady pace with Tarja keeping a close watch on her surroundings to make sure nobody came too close to the inexperienced trooper and that there was nothing in their path whilst Ellen got used to walking in the armour. Though to be fair most people gave the armoured troopers a wide berth anyway.

Once they had entered the tunnels Tarja would begin walking at a more normal pace, explaining to Ellen how the comms system worked whilst she waited for Conrad, whom they’d passed on the way, to join them at which point she would address all those in the tunnels ”Ok Ellen if you’re ready we’re going to pick up the pace to a jog and then a run…and once you’re comfortable and have got the hang of that we’ll show you how fast these suits can really go, ok?” she said before picking up the pace with her Conrad flanking Ellen from either side as they went.

After building up to a steady run the three of them would do the better part of a lap and a half around the tunnels giving Ellen chance to get used to the feel of running in the armour before Tarja spoke up over their comms just as they rounded the corner and started on the next straight ”Ok Conrad, let’s show her what these babies can do, try and keep up Ellen and remember there’s a wall at the end” Tarja said before picking up the pace and breaking into a run akin to a speeding freight train.

 Ellen worked  hard    running, sometimes  a bit too far over he   feet  and  would start to stumble,   but  would recover  , slow down, then start to  run again... Curses  couls be heard  as she struggled ,  but her  gait  was  getting  longer, and the steps , getting faster.

Although they were setting a fast pace Tarja and Conrad would make sure they didn’t run too quickly so as to leave Ellen behind, though aside from a few stumbles she looked to be picking it up fairly quickly ”Thats it, keep feet moving! Don’t worry about suit just concentrate on running and the rest will fall into place” Tarja called down her comms, currently happy with the progress Ellen was making ”when we reach that bulkhead you’re going to want to start slowing down else you won’t make the corner, and trust me, even in armour you don’t want to run into a wall!” Conrad would then advise, his voice hinting that he spoke from bitter experience.

It was as they were approaching the corner, with Tarja keeping an eye on Ellen to make sure she was slowing down sufficiently, that Tarja would speak over her comms to them both ”We will do another lap, then maybe look at trying out the weapon systems if you’re ok with that?”

  Ellen  was  a cross between  angry at herself  and   thinking her  way through the 'feel' of the armor. The   wall came Up much faster then she    thought, and her  reaction was purely instinctive .    rather then   run  into , or brace her  self    she  laned  and  tjumped,  her   boots   hitting the  walk  and   for  3  steps  it looked really good, until she realized   she had  no idea   who to  come out of it, and 'fell off ' the wall Hitting the  deck and rolling  a few times..

 C9onrad   Locked  up, and  rounded off his turn, Jogging back.. Both of the  AI  folks  here  a  string of  words, that some how formed a sentence, with every single  word  a curse word.

Being the most experienced of the three Tarja would leave it to the last second before practically skidding around the bend with one hand braced upon the inner wall to keep her from falling. Glancing over her shoulder she would witness Ellen’s impressive attempt to round the bend, raising her fist over her head in the classic “stop”signal before heading over to her ”That would have been impressive if you’d pulled that off” Tarja said with good natured chuckle as she hooked an arm under Ellen’s armpit as Conrad did the same on the other side and they hauled her back onto her feet ”would you like to keep going and try again at the next bend? Or would you like to take a break and shoot something instead?” Tarja asked, with a quick glance at the squad console telling her that only Ellen’s pride would be bruised ”don’t let this bother you, you’re doing very and everyone has crashed into the wall at least once”

  Ellen   sighs inside her  armor...seems  like it  maybe top heavy..or  at  least for me,,,  Can we  got  another  lap?  the   rounds  aren't  drying up in the  mag, right?

”We can do as many laps as you like, the ammo’s not going anywhere and no ones booked the tunnels, so let’s go” Tarja responded with the hand gesture for a shrug before signalling for Ellen to lead the way. Both she and Conrad would impart a little more advice as they went to try and help her adapt to the armour.

As they began to pick up speed once again, and with the next corner looming up ahead Tarja would speak over her comms to them both ”Conrad! Push ahead of us so that Ellen can watch how you take the corner” with Conrad replying a few seconds later ”already done!” before picking up speed and racing ahead of them ”ok Ellen watch Conrad, see where he starts to slow down, where in the tunnel he moves and how he moves in suit…then you try and replicate it, and I’ll be right behind you to assist, ok?” she instructed as the pair of them ran.

  Ellen was  working hard..she  was going faster, but  every  few hundred  yards, she  had to slow  a bit until she   got back over her  boot , rather then ahead of them.

  she leaned  into the  curve.

Without any theatrics or showboating Conrad would slow his pace and go around the corner, with Tarja meanwhile narrating what he was doing for Ellen’s benefit with it being her turn a few minutes later ”Ok slow it down a little more, that’s it…and now start powering through” Tarja would call, hopefully guiding her around the corner and onto the next straight.

 Ellen   reached  the   bend and leaned into the  turn like a  sprinter, it loked real Good, except, Ellen had Ben a  sprinter, and most of them , Did   run  in  armor,,     she  was out over  top of her boots  again, and there was no comign  back     she   tried to Roll  m as  she banged   and bounced on the  Dec plates.. swearing  with   each bump.

 all the gods  be damned, even the ones  we don't know  about yet! she  slammed a   armored fist onto the dec.

”Quickly! Back on feet, you are the sitting duck like that!” Tarja called as she caught up with Ellen, frantically gesturing for her to get back onto her feet. She would offer Ellen assistance in getting back onto her feet if she needed it but would otherwise leave her to it, with the suits augmented muscles more than capable of lifting the suits bulk ”You are trying to do too much, too quickly…slow pace down, if you have to walk to get around corner then do so, you don’t need to be expert on first day” Tarja said, sensing Ellen’s frustration as she got back onto her feet ”speed will come with time and practice, besides which we are unlikely to get in situation where we need to run inside a ship” she added, with the tunnels being a rather unique environment.

  Ellen  got  up as    fast  as she  could.. a frustrated grunt was heard.. Yeah.... I know.. its  so damn frustrating!...Me  Cora and Scareltt have been with the Hermes  a bit over a year..almost 2?... I have been on the inside  of  more  vessels  looking to kill people, then i have been on real ground...

she  began to move again,  starting  out a bits low..and picking up speed

”Marines and troopers find it harder to switch over to armour than others, there is a lot of training to unlearn” Tarja responded as Ellen got to her feet and started running again. Some of it still came in handy, and the discipline it brought was certainly a bonus, but other elements of her training as a Jaeger had simply been unhelpful when she’d started her own training.

Keeping the pace deliberately steady, Tarja would explain how certain parts of suits HUD worked as they ran ”hopefully they will let’s train a little when we reach playground, it would be good to get some time on a planet…or moon, or….whatever” she said, wanting the team to brush up on certain elements of their training and possibly even work alongside the mechs and marines whilst they were at it.

With the corner approaching Tarja would start to slow down, instructing Ellen to do the same and match her pace, with Conrad meanwhile continuing to run a little ahead of them ”ok Ellen, keep pace with me, this is speed and position you need to be at” Tarja said, getting ready to grab Ellen if it looked like she was liable to to overbalance again.

   Ellen  slowed  Just a bit,   she did  punch the wall  to  keep her self  from   falling  into9 the   inward  wall   , though she  righted her  self    she was still swearing, almost  as much as if she  would have  fell.

  Dammit... therre  isn't gonna  be a wall  to keep me from fallign on the ground!
