2:00AM Eastern Standard time... sky watchers saw a brief fire ball, it went out quickly...
most children were becoming experts at sky watching, since there was a reason to watch. Games played of how many aircraft from The Black came or went.
Angel and Empire instruments would move to an 'visitor' as they lit up thje sky... Patrol aircraft took care of the day light. and interceptors where always ready on the Deck if they caught a rebel aircraft, or had SOS from a transport,
The shuttle glided like a brick with wings, but this brink was flow by one of the best to fly a shuttle. it zipped low across the new jersey beach, to wards an old tunnel that was no longer in use, since the laying of the Hermes keel leveled alot of the infrastructure, Hover care made Tunnels and bridges less important, though many people still had wheeled vehicles.
The Batters front of the Tunnel, buried in rock , cement and dirt, looked lke it would take months to un cover... as the shuttle came in, only under thruster power, the tunnels debris dropped down into the ground revealing a dimly lit opening, The shuttle went in with out slowing, and the cave in slid back up...
