There was nothing on Steval, and nothing in the apartment that Madison could find. Nothing of interest anyway, that was until Kray pointed out the safe behind the picture. He handed her two devices called toasters. They were basically magnesium igniters that could burn through the safe door. Kray pulled her out of the room for the ignition where they could see the progress by the bright light of the burn. While they waited, she noticed Steval's handgun. With a wicked thought, she scooped it up, and put away the gun she took off the guard. Anyone she shot next would be ironically with his 45.

When the burn completed, they went back in. Kray recovered a pile of creds and some data. Madison recovered Stevals spare magazine from a drawer. With their haul bagged, they went on to the next door. Eager now, Madison led with her gun forward. It was a good thing as a pair of guards found their way from somewhere. They looked more like they were trying to escape than engage, but they did fire. Madison fired back, killing the first with hit to the neck and pinning down the second after a hit to his arm. If he hadn't stuck his head out to fire at her again, she wouldn't have had to put a bullet in it.

At the second door, Madison wasn't sure if Kray wanted her to lead or follow, so she held at the entrance. "Me or you?"

   Moving to the metal door , that was on Shadow  side of the  hall.You're the Driver.. you are the Important one here..I go  first.. he  looked both ways  before stepping in.. there was a wort there..it was  small.. about  2  Feet  long..   its   hissed  and growled its mouth was Bloody and a woman in   Half of her  EDT  uniform  had  no throat left;

 Ok..Cat-Thing.. get the  9 hells out of here... The thing  looked at him, looked at Maddy, it liked some of the Blood  from its whiskers.. and  hugged the  wall as  it moved to the  door  way, then Zipped out...

 search,, Creds... Papers.. briefcases....Loose creds..you keep , Bundles
 and  disks, just throw into the back pack i have..  he   smashed opened  a locked   wooden cabinet.. there was   a plastic  case with  2  Green  cred disc  in, he  tossed that into the pack....

Zob  and his two comrades  were at the   Intersection now, Jax, looked like he might have been finishing on the beach, as he calmly fired    short bursts into  people  running .. he didn't care if the were wounded or dead, as long as they were out of the fight.

  Hemsley   tossed    another   Ball  across the   ay, watching it  bounce off the  wall, i managed to go to the south of that  intersection, the screams of pain and surprise  when he  pulled the trigger  made him laugh..

Pulling two blocks of C10 he handed them to the Sergeant adding a pair of detonators and timers.

  Six  takes the Van  in a  large Oval, Unlike a carrier station., there was no traffic pattern to   hide in.

  The saving grace  was. there were  other   things in the  air..Shuttles, BUs other  hover cars, so  they wouldn't like  be noticed ... too  much at night with running lights out.
 barely skirting the   tree ops..Six  brought the     van i  , a foot or two, below the  warehouse  roof  edge...

 You'll have to step up. but no one can see the van unless they come to the rear of this building.

 Meari took the C-10 and then said after Six got into position, " Ok lets go get this Bitch."

 Meari got out, they were going quiet right now, she had he Udenese paired knives out at first, her 30-cal on shoulder strap. Meari would look at the roof to see if there are any guards around and looks to a door down.

Madison first checked the corpse. She did find a few credits she put into her pouch, but other than a sidearm there was nothing else. She wondered why there were creatures running about that might spontaneously attack the people living and working in the apartment complex. It was a small creature, so it was unlikely that it tore out the guard's throat while she was standing. It could have launched from a dresser or the desk, but the woman was near the bed. It had to be that this guard was down low at the wort's level. She turned to look under the bed.

Moving aside the sheet draped over the side, Madison found a small metal case. It was about the size of a dictionary with a lock that wasn't secured. Whether the woman had unlocked it or had yet to secure it would be forever a mystery, as would whether the wort was protecting the case or simply hiding under the bed ready to attack anyone who went under after it. But none of that mattered. What mattered was the contents. The bundle of cash and the disk cases were the first to stand out, but the most interesting thing was the book with symbol of the EDT emblazoned on the leather. After stuffing most of the credits into the backpack, she opened the book. Her eyes widened at the contents.

"Kray!" She called him over. "This is a hit list. I'm guessing the money was payment for clearing it. You're name is at the top with Admiral Hack's and the Sergeant Major's. It looks like Bosson was going after the low hanging fruit first. The only two names crossed off are at the very bottom."

Roy grunted at Brivet's explanation.  "Start us on a slow circle approach, then.  End point if that third building Doc pointed out.  Keep the flight as level as possible.  At the very least, it will mean that, if anyone figures out where a shot came from, we won't still be there by the time they look."

He never looked up from the scope as he spoke...he was observing, measuring, calculating, planning...looking for hints about which guard was in charge, about patrol patterns, about structural details...anything that would improve their edge in the attack.

Zob made his way over to the downed EDT and quickly put two rounds in the back of the paralyzed mans head and took his briefcase and forced it open and looked over the contents taking the paper creds and one green cred disk for himself which he stashed away in his belt and pack before walking back to the others and tossed the remains into the loot bag except for the little book which he took a quick glance at, "We gotta keep working our way down and see if this place has a basement then we meet up with the other two and we delta after... and obviously no survivors" when they were ready he would lead them onward to the next area heading down.

"Well, shit..." Roy muttered, just audibly, and then continued, "Gearing up for Delta Night is always a question between stealth and firepower.  I opted for firepower this time, which will mean slightly better accuracy at this range, but also means anyone I don't hit with the first shot is gonna hear it.  How they react will depend largely on how well they're trained."

He gave a quiet "hmph" and  resttled his cheek against the stock.  "Good news is, nobody really trains their personnel in how to react to sniper fire.  Here we go... he thought.  He put the crosshairs center-torso on the guard whose patrol route had him on the side of the building facing them, and let out his breath slowly.  And in that minute pause, when his heart slowed and his body was most still between breaths, he squeezed the trigger.

  The  Guards   walked , they herad  some chatter..'wish they could have been at the ball.....maybe they can clean the beach off tomorrow night.

Some folks  are lucky... the see bad  things happening and  can do something  about it. Some peole never  see iut coming and die, blisffully unware... others. have the hard Luck of seeing it..and can't do a damn thing.

 The  quick flash of light, as the guard looked towards  the outskirts ..ended with the  sudden   flash of  Pain  as his  face turned inside out, blowing  out through the back of his  head. the  body droped like a wet  dish towel from the rack.

  No one saw.. some folks looked, but everyhting was 'normal' for a moment.

 the roof  wasn't completely flat, as they climbed  up the  slight slope  and peaked Over.. Lirg's  Hyrian  sniper  rifle  slide slowly over the peak  as he   searched the grounds...I have  3 rond  mags.. I can kill three   Worts.. that  leave  1 left, until i reload

 Scarlett  shrugged..let it  come....

 The alarm is going to sound.

Shadow  and maddy   walked down through h battered  hall way..there were no sounds  except some burning wd  work from  Grenades.. the  smoke from the toaster  filled the  Hall to the North.

  Shadow  stooped when the reached  the   place his grenade went off.. he knelt down , looking at , what was left, of an EDT  trooper.    puling the   throwing knife from its place, behind his neck and   cut  the    patch of the man's shoulder   It was a Hammer with the  EDY  symbol  in the middle of the hammer's head

 I never saw this? I eman? doesn't mean it was eve  around..but its  new to me...\

 A woman's voice  say...Its  clear..head to the   lift..who ever  is here  came from the roof..

 Shadow pointed to the  wall for Maddy,  then sprawled  against the  other  wall, feigning to be dead,

 The door   Kicked   opened.. Shade  stepped out.. a Guard   ran to him and Looked,,and started to laugh,,  Shade  Pointed his   finger  at him  , , the   blast of  flame   had the  him screaming   as his  face and hair Burned...

 the others    stepped out.  Nifty's  rifle  roar   and the man was hit and flew  against the  wall some 100 yards  down range.,  the SEC  folks didn't need  any  orders, then began to kick open doors..shooting if  some one was there, or   moving to the next.. Nifty   send another   far guard   to meet his fellow .

As the aircar continued on its long curving path, Roy acquired the next guard, slowly continuing his assigned route.  It would be some time before he would come within sight of the corpse Roy had just dropped, but Roy didn't intend to wait.  He settled his sight picture, centered up on the guard, and squeezed off another shot.

Zob grumbled he knew Shadow could handle himself but Hemsly was right, "Change of plans lets head up there and group up with the other two" he then made his way to the stairs and carefully made his way up them assault rifle at the ready in case of any surprises.

On the sound of the voice, Madison looked up from the trooper. Whoever the woman was, she was very composed, giving directions like a boss. Shadow reacted, directing her to the wall while feigning dead at the opposite side. Out of view, Madison readied her pistol.

    Roy's  shot   came..a bit lower then he would have Liked.. the  shot  caught the guard  right  about the  chest plate, into  his through  and spreading   red over the roof.. the hraf flopped  down  forward,,the body  stood for a second , before it  crumpled..

The  third  guard  looked around  as the   mans  rifle  clattered on the   concrete

  The woman came, EDT, a civi woman..the woman looked scared. along with another Man  in a  EDT  uniform.

 Open the  door , Twit... she  snapped at the  civi woman who, began to rech for the Lift  Button.

  The M<an, a SGT..says..'ere now.. this ain't one of  ours. Must be from them Night raiders..come to kill us..Mabbe they  got the boss and left? he has  a back back..wonder  what he has inside..eh?

 Zob and the  others  went up the fires escape to the second  Floor.. there were still screams, but there  were Voices in Command . Hemsly moved to the first Door an opened  it, and Wave  Zob and  Jax in.

They're  settin' up some  kinda  defesne...Mabbe we should  Go up  an'  come down with the LC and Perry..have  full power.

 Jax    shrugged..or>.. we  set this  floor  on fire, since   the  LC and  Perry got   the MArk..  let the bad  guys worring  aboy  have to  go  down the  elevators... we have to go down to check for   a basement anyway?

The distraction worked better than expected. At least better than Madison expected. Three people came into view, the woman in charge and a man were in EDT uniforms, the third was another woman not in uniform. They spotted Shadow playing dead and bought it. The man went to retrieve the backpack and had his chest disintegrated for his trouble. The EDT woman reacted by drawing her weapon in Shadow, but Madison put two 45s in the side of her head in rapid succession. She didn't matter anymore. What did matter was the lone survivor, screaming like her arm was being sawed off. The EDT woman's blood and brain matter was all over her face. Madison was going to shut her up with a third shot but hesitated. She had looked scared and the leader addressed her as twit. With Steval Bosson dead and no other soldiers in sight, there was no harm in finding out who she was before silencing her forever.

"Shut up!" Madison stepped out from cover with her gun pointed at the woman's head. "You have one chance to tell me why I shouldn't kill you. Go."

     Shadowm Loiked at the woman.. and Looked  at maddy.. I'm getting a  towel... Yoiu're  call on what to do with her, I'll be right out...

 they could hear  shadow  bitching  about too damn much  blood  packed into  EDT assholes...

 The  Girl Looked at  Maddy..she was scared.. maybe..18? 19..they were My body guards.. The LT  didn;'t like me, said  I had it too easy... The SGT Liked me...too much....  My Daddy is thier Boss..,, he said  for  them to get me out..he would see me later..

As the woman told her what was going on, Madison just shook her head. This was one of those sad situations she was afraid of. Shadow came back right after the woman explained who she was. Madison held up her hand to Shadow, hoping he'd really let her handle it.

"Steval Bosson is dead." She told the woman, deliberately not calling Bosson her father. "I shot him through the head. I said you had one chance to tell me why I shouldn't kill you. You gave me a reason why I should. Last chance. Tell me something that keeps me from pulling this trigger or... I will."
