Re: The Foundry

Zob was just getting done suiting up to work when he heard Jonesy speak up behind him, "Yep... Unless i am called into action but that is the standard protocol" he shrugs as he closed the locker and turned to face Jonesy, "Things have been pretty tense as of late so will see how much we can get done with the time allotted to us"

We called in some guys  for OT..amd  hot the  Union to  waier some Civies  who need the creds as well....here's what's   gonna HAppen....

Pointing to Caldron 1...as soon as the whistle goes off.. we start pouring Forms  from   Caldron one..we're gonna  cheat a bit, leave   some in the  pot to keep it hot.. then roll it back... the  extra  people are Gonna load  scrap into  it, even while its on its  way back on teh track, to save some time....

..we'll do the same   with #2.... after  #2  is  poured,   you guys  will take 30 minute Lunch then,  #1  will be ready.. byt the time  #1  is poured,  #2  should be ready... we'll empty the   buckets  the second time,  that should   give us  13  damage control plate , each..on the second  pass... we  we  could end up with 50 total?.. then we have to shut  down , and rid  for action./..work fast..work hard, but  don't get hurt... onbe of those plates isn't worth one of you guys..

Zob listened to the Foremans instructions, "Understood, then lets get to it" he said excitedly ready for a fast paced day pouring.

Zob once the prep talk was over got into position on the line, "Alright Jonesy ready to win that bet?" he smirked as he waited for the whistle.

the whistle Blew  , the crew clocked on  and went to thier stations, the   forms began  to   roll out  as the    Caoldron mpved foreward  to  be  tilted.

The Fore man stayed on the  Floor   watching  the workers  so no one  did  anything stupid.

Above them , at the end of the  rollers,  a pair of   laborers    hooked the forms to  the  Over eha d Crave, then Help   Guide the Forms   into the racks.

Once everything was in place Zob called out, "Hot soup!" then carefully began to pour the cauldron from number one into the forms making sure to leave some left in the cauldron as instructed for the scrap people to load when they sent it back down the line.

after  6 passes  , then  Guy on the Bridge  waved the   Bucket back, while smaller   swing  cranes  began to  load  more  scrap.

Zob had the battle with the Verian's on the mind it wouldn't be long until they would have to go and fight again and he wanted to be ready, he took a step forward and felt the familiar heat of the foundry he enjoyed quite a bit when he arrived he looked for the foreman about getting some axe molds poured.

once the  boards  were on  place  be began to pour  it  full of form  foam.... Mitch  Brought  out   the  carving   tools.

Zob took the opportunity to move off to the side out of the way to watch the guys work, he wasn't efficient in the whole mold forming process but he was well trained in the pouring process but if he watched he could learn a thing or two.

Re: The Foundry

It took Mattsie  a good  20 minutes  to  fill the  frame box with the foam... then Blake   began to out line the   weapons in the foam. He allowed a couple  feet  from each weapon.

another  10 Minutes , he had them all laid out.  and then began to   cut  into the  fam with the specialized tools.

the double checked the  for the  thickness of the  blades, and the  cylindrical  handles, Mattsie  came back  with  Pipe 'handles' for  Blake to use .

Mitch smiled at the  pair as he said to   Zob,..those pipes  will be  eaten by the steel, but it  will add a mor ...composite.. to the  hanled,, the  Heads of the wapons  will be poured first and allow the  steel to   flow into the handles , thus making them 'pure ' steel from the ladle.

Re: The Foundry

Blake's  skill at  cutting out the   molds  were   effortless, once the   forms  were set, he  sprayed the  inside  of the  forms.

Mattsie  said, spraying them  seals  off  air holes , soe the metal   flows  where it's suppsoed to go. It saves  alot of time  in grinding later...

they  pushed the  cart over to the LAdel

I always  wanted to   be  an artist, but my father  said tehgre was more creds in  metal for   Cap Ships... he was right?.. but?  doesn't  do me much good out here....still? we  get small jobs like this one in a while, that i can  use  my  skils on..

Mattsie  had a Long handed   ladle, he held it out as he stood on the form. Blade   let the sluce gate open ,  the smaller man   filled  the  ladle   and  poured the  further  axe first.. working his  way  back. housing  a   full ladel for each. Though the  man was small, his arms  were corded   as  he  moved the ladle as  one  might  a broom...another   15 minutes of this... and the Axes  were poure.

Mitch smiles  at the Men, he   gives  Blake the Money,That's  from  The SGT here.. you two split it.. turning to Zob,we'll let the  set a   day, near the   starbard Stern..its the closest place in here...
