The Foundry

The two huge  furnaces   go night  and day, 4 shifts  run, round the  clock to produce plates  for  fighters and  the Hermes herself. Sometimes the  ESN ships will use the plates  as tradegoods on planets and colonies.  The men and women who worked the Foundry were tough and no nonsense, at least half the football team were foundry folks, and they were proud of that.

However..there  were other   uses  for the foundry.....

Re: The Foundry

The 4  people walked in, well..three walked, one was pushed-dragged. The Foreman of the  3rd shift saw them Come in and  waved to one of the men working the LAdel on the Number 2 smelter.

in a few moments, a fork truck brought a white  hot vat of molten steel and  sat it off to the side, away from the workes and out of the way of production.

Hack Pulled out his  boot Knife  and cut away the clothing  from the wounded man's legs and  his  shirt and tunic.don't  worry about  the Bullet wounds, Manfred. In a few moments, you will remember how good they felt.

The LC stood there, her arms  at her side, her own bootknife in her hand.

Roy?  Souza? This will not  be pretty, it is going to be right up there with the Vids of the Demons. If that will bother you? you may stand  down...if not, watch...and learn

Hack sliped  a mall metal hook through the  Pastic handcuffs then attached the   other ned to the fortrucks  forks, he waved the operator  who lifted  Baron   in the  air, and hand him hovering about  a foot over the  superheated  metal...eve from there, Baron Moaned  as his  toes began to redden. Here's the deal, Manfred. You tell us  about  who you worked with, who might have helped you...and  we put you in the brig...we wait until we get to  Fugi, and you have your day in court...worse thng happens..you get shot, or spaced...

NO!, He shot  Shadow...he does not deserve...

Hack looked up at the  wriggling man, the heat ws  hurting his toes, sweat was pouring off him..now..the heat is bad, but  did yo ever see flesh when it touches this  stuff? It melts..i understand there is no greater  pain..but..i have only watched it....

now?  You don't talk to us?  we dip you in...say...1/4 inch...you won't bleed, everything  with be cartarized..but you will hurt like the  9 hells..and we will do that every day..I think the longest  a man lasted  was  3 days...we only got  as far as melting his toes off...damn shame too, never got what we needed...but? we were not  any worse off then before, and we had a damn good time  watch him scream...so for us? nothing to lose.

Re: The Foundry

Roy nodded at Hack's gesture.  "If it's all the same to you, Sir, I've got security details to arrange..."  He snapped a salute and spun an about-face smartly, walking back to the door.  He could hear Hack describing what he had in mind for the prisoner, and he frankly doubted the guy would last long with that kind of shock to his system...but he didn't entertain any thought of protesting.  He had no love for traitors...and even less for those who'd sell out humanity to the Demons, knowing what he did about their enemy.

Re: The Foundry

Roy?  You might want to see, about "finding " us another  shooter...aye?

As Roy ( and Souza?) moved to the  iron doors that  keep the foundry shut off from the resty of the ship, they could hear a Long  drawn out  scream.

if they Looked  around, hey would note  that the workers   kept  Grinding, cutting and hauling...just another day at the foundry.

Re: The Foundry

Anthony followed with the Master Sergeant's salute with his own, "I will take my leave Sir." Anthony said as he lowered his salute and holstered his side arm, following the Master Sergeant back out. He did not find it entertaining nor educational. He did not question his command but he did not take what they were doing very well. "Master Sergeant wait for me" Anthony said as he jogged forward a bit and ended up walking on the sergeant's left flank to follow him out.

Re: The Foundry

Roy slowed his pace long enough for Souza to catch up with him, without stopping.  "Lousy way to die," he commented, as he resumed his normal pace with Souza alongside.  "Can't say that the walking excrement pile hasn't earned it, though.  I'd have made it a lot faster, myself, but I'm not the man in command."  The arrived at the door, and Roy spared one glance back.  It was impossible to tell if the grimace of distaste was because of what he saw, or what he thought of the man it was happening to.  Then he turned away and walked out.

Re: The Foundry

Anthony sighed, "A bullet to the head is all he deserves, not even the time of day to torture him." Anthony said as he followed the Master Sergeant with his hands free, looking away as he looked back with a grimace. He did his job for the team, and he would do it again if necessary.

Re: The Foundry

Roy nodded, needlessly, as he got the comm message.  "C'mon, Souza...let's go hunting..."  He increased his pace, without breaking into a run.  If Grah had any cohorts hiding somewhere else in the crew, the sight of a couple of armed men running toward the Rec Deck might get notice sent to him and give him a chance to make himself scarce.  But a quick march?  That just meant someone wasn't very patient...not terribly noteworthy on this ship, especially since Roy tended to use that pace anytime he was going somewhere on his own.
