Dr. Christie's Findings

This thread will be , for what information  the Good doctor finds...and  writes down, for the  Crew ( and ESN for that matter) to know. Though the Angels know  alot   about everyone, what they have shared with us is in the Alien thread...what the Good Doctor  find, cannot be....censored.

Re: Dr. Christie's Findings

Demon Breeding Patterns

All Demons are born within an armoured shell. Demon females themselves are built to withstand the passage of the shell down the birth canal, whereas this damages if not kills other species utilised as birth mothers or breeding partners by the Demons. Furthermore, the neonates are ravenously hungry. Demon females prepare for this by having food ready, less care is taken when the birth mother is of another species and she may be eaten.

The neonate is normally what is termed a 'Stump' which may develop in several ways, seemingly at random. Occasionally a neonate emerges from the shell as a Wisp. Such new-born Wisps of the female gender are deemed 'Royal' and segregated in places known as Castles. Stumps normally grow into Tanks. Many remain as Tanks, maturing until they are able to breed, their natural armour getting ever thicker. In other cases, the armour cracks away and the individual is revealed as a Wisp. Within a week or so it becomes apparent if the Wisp is male or female.

Angel/Human Blood Interactions

Blood work shows that the addition of human blood to angel blood makes the angel blood stronger, whereas if angel blood is given to humans, it likewise enhances  the humans, slowing down the lifespan of the blood cells, making them last 2 to 3 times longer, thus...adding to the human lifespan!

This led to an investigation of the "angelfood" additive to the  food served to selected humans - it contains  some of the same elements that angel blood has, thus making the humans who eat it live  longer, the aging process being slowed considerably.

Re: Dr. Christie's Findings

More Demon Breeding Notes

1. Demon-0n-Demon births  have 2 or  three "eggs" per birth. there is  a 1% chance of  one of them being a 'Leader"...(like the one that the Admiral spoke with).

2. Demons cannot breed with Avians

3. Demons and Largrans have a "tougher skinned Largran" as a result..these off spring are  normally shipped to  the closest Largran ship or base, to be raised by them.

4. Demons and Mulls have one egg per birth, almost all births result in Tanks, but these are slightly fur covered.

5 Demons and Creshians cannot breed..however..eating Cresh seems to speed up growth rate for Demon offspring of any type.

7 Demons and Humans have  one  "egg". These eggs are different as they are softer shelled, the offspring  eat their  way out of the Shell...once out, they will feed on the Mother, if she is still present....on most capital ships, the Birthing Rooms  allow, just that...Planet side, the  Demons  will use Human  mothers  until the Mother  is "broken" and can no longer carry..then they allow  the offspring to feed on them.

The biggest...most recent Log (put together by their Ship's Doctor)..Human meat, increases the growth rate 10 fold...and offspring, feeding on Human Meat will be  be able to take its place in the ranks at 8 months...in a year..it  will be well into its  "class"..and two years a fully formed ...whatever it was meant to  be....the Demon DNA holds  strongly to the appearance , but 5% of Human Births  result in "leader" caste.

These..are the orange  skinned creatures, that look more  like  armorskinned humans, then they do  Demons, they are  as  smart (if not smarter) then the Wisps, and 1 in every 20..will grow into the class that will be sent  to the  Homeworld to live in the Palace.....

This is the sole reason The Demons  have not  fully wiped out earth colonies, and why they capture as many live humans as they can ....

There  are far more leaders born to human women, then there are "fathered"  by Human Males.

Sadly..Human Children provide the  best "food"  for rapid  Growth, and are prized as  "spoils of war"

Re: Dr. Christie's Findings

Possible information about causing Demonkind harm

Demons that are wounded by 'hard rounds" - whether they are stainless steel, steel, lead or the cheap 'tin' rounds - will get infections caused  by the acid in their  systems that eats the metal and leads to blood poisoning.

So far the Demons have no answer for this, because of the different types of rounds used... even shrapnel from ships' hulls, grenades &c. will cause the infection  within minutes of the wound being inflicted, unless the projectile is cut out and  the wound purified with the Demon version of Derma foam.

Re: Dr. Christie's Findings

The "human looking" Demons

Their skin colour ranges from light purple to dark pink, almost as if they were "trying to get it  right". No matter the colour, however, the skin still had the scale type markings and the veins showing that regular demons display, though not as pronounced as on a 'real' demon.

Both bodies recovered (the NCO and the civilian secretary) carried a copy of an interesting book. The books looked well used. On one side of a page would be the hardcore Demonic works but next to it was a rough version of the Human alphabet as recognised across the galaxy (the Angels made the English language the Earth standard for dealing with the outside worlds, since it was the closest to their own!).

The two demons were both females, but there was a difference in that these two were more 'feminine' then the thicker bodied native Demon females.

Update on Metal Effects

(Work done by Corp Sandra Hills and Corp Mel Frez, InfoTechs.)

Angel steel, Demonic steel, stainless steel, silver and gold do not poison Demons.

Steel from Earth, indeed anywhere in the Sol system is harmful to them, as will copper, bronze, and aluminum. Lead is particularly virulent.

Critters #1: The Pirloc

This is a 'flying dragon' that preys on Demons on their homeworld. Large specimens can take on and defeat a Demon if they are not killed quickly. A distinctive feature is the high-pitched scream they make as they dive... which by conicidence sounds exactly like a diving Hammer in atmosphere with its vents open!

The hate between these creatures and Demons goes back to the beginning... and most Demons' reflex to the sound is to look up, or  seek cover.

Some Humans believe this is where the tales of our Dragons came from. I think that the legends predate contact with Demonkind.

Critters #2: Senger d'aphyon

A monster that has claws so big and sharp it can cleave a fully grown demon tank in half with one fell swipe! It stands roughly ten to twelve feet tall on two legs, it's slightly hunchbacked with bulging muscles, with four long arms and razor sharp claws that are about twelve inches or more in length... they are extremely aggressive and territorial. It eats everything it can get its claws on and has been known to wipe out entire settlements in a bloodlust rage if its young are even remotely threatened. They can turn cannibal, especially when an upstart male tries to take on the alpha for dominance - and yet some actually keep them as pets.

Flora and Fauna on Paradise

Flowering bushes, about waist height. Dark green leaves, orange flowers. Attract beetle-like creatures, it seems. Perhaps to pollenate flowers insect-fashion?

The beetle-like creatures are called friks. They are also known as 'stinging beetles' they eat most harmful insects and they help to spread the plants. They have a nasty sting though. Some  Angels die from the sting, if they  have a bad reaction to the venom. Friks are striped white and green.

Another beetle is the hilk. They are the 'demons' of the insect world on Paradise. They eat any plant that they land on, however friks  feed on them!

Paradise also has spiders, similar in form and appearance to Earth ones. They also attack hilks for food. However their venom will kill most Angels, and it appears that Demons are also vulnerable.

Streams contain fish-like creatures, which can be caught with rod & line (at least, the Angels do this!). The fish resemble trout, except that they have  bigger teeth. There are also crayfish-like creatures that have one eye in the centre of their heads. Also there are water bugs, swimming beetles and little 'crawlies' that try to wiggle into the mud when you get close.

An insect, a cross between a hummingbird and a dragon fly with needle-like teeth strong enough to hook onto a light environment suit, would probably give a nasty bite to bare skin!

Fruit, shaped Like cucumbers, but yellow and red - very juic, sweet and refreshing, edible by both Angels and humans.

And the lonox, a small 4-legged creature, very dog-like in both appearance and behaviour. They are wild but occasionally form an attachment to an individual and basically refuse to leave that person thereafter! It is omnivorous preferring insects and vegetation... but seems to prefer meat and fruit over (human) vegetables and kibble.

Jova Flower

(Based on hearsay from Richard Caine, I've yet to see one!)

The jova flower is bright green with a red centre and stem. It is native to the moons and Paradise. It is harvested and processed to produce blue and silver liquids used by the angels for medical purposes.

The silver liquid rapidly multiplies cell growth in angels and humans, two and three times respectively. It can also restore years to the lives of Occui and Sanri.

Food & Drink Angel-Style

Hults can be regarded as cows with 6 legs. They provide both meat and dairy (milk and  cheese &c.), and their hides are used like leather.

Gois are pig-like  animals also with 6 short legs. They get both meat and milk from these creatures. Stores often carry both hult and gois milk. Their hides are also used as leather, being considered more 'high-end' than hult hide.

Brill are very large birds, looking a cross between a chicken and an ostrich. They have limited flight capabilities and can be nasty in the wild. They are raised on farms and their meat, eggs and feathers are used.

Vors arelarge nasty fish, but they taste good. They swim in schools and will attack creatures in the water. They come in two forms: fresh water and salt water. The fresh water variety is smaller, getting to about 3 feet long. Those found in oceans grow to 6-10 feet long. Having a ocean vors-tooth necklace is a big thing, but only if you caught the vors yourself! The teeth are used for jewelry, but more for looks then status.

Cio are shellfish, looking like a cross between crabs and clams. They have 6 spider-like legs that can be retracted into the shell ( like a turtle). To cook these you must first cut off the head at the neck, because cio have venom sacs in the lower jaw. This venom is used  on blades or darts, and will stun both angels  and humans. Occui and sandri die from it, while largran and demons get ulcerous wounds that need to be treated or they will never heal. Creshians are unaffected by it.It is not known what it will do to Skith. These shellfish are one of the most sought after  dishes on  the Moons or Paradise, and the shells are used for decoration.

On the vegetable side, frill is a wheat-like grain and hannes is another grain more like corn (maize). There is a lettuce-like green leafy vegetable called griff, whilst mois is best described as a bluish form of carrot. The main carbohydrae is nuse, which occupies the role of potatoes. They are the highest crop an angel farmer can grow, being in demand  everywhere and served in every way imaginable (like our potatoes are!).
