After recieving a comm Riley gets into his gear, straps on the ancient holster for his colt and heads for the Mech shop.

Jesse meanders to her quarters, showers, changes clothes and rests.  She begins going through a shit ton of emails from her friends back on Earth that know of her "identity crisis" and secretly gets her messages of the comings and goings of her old homestead.

Otherwise, she reads and researches what she can on what little information she has of the various races and starts working on deciphering their languages.

 She walked slowly to her quarters doing her best to keep the little kitty calm and secure. She didn't want him to get lose and be frightened in the strange hallways. She entered her room and closed and secured her door before sitting on the bed and letting him out of her jacket.
 "Here you go little one! I will get you a litter box and feed and water pans as soon as I get off duty. Until then, I have a jewelry dish I can fill with water. I'll put some food out in the bathroom for you too."

 She did as she said and spent some time reassuring him, then she got ready for her shift at the med deck.

 "I'll see you in a little while baby kitty! Be good until I get home."

 She petted him briefly then headed toward the Med Deck.

Jesse got her message, put her stuff and research up, and then looked through her items for a tank top and some black cargo pants.  She'd make a stop at the QM locker for a check up on her gear and then head to SEC office to get an update.

 She came in carefully to be sure she didn't scare the kitty or let him out the door. She quickly closed the door then called out softly for him. She really would have to find a name for him. She usually didn't name her cats until something the cat did named it for her. Some action, or personality trait, or style would suggest something once she got to know him.

 "Here kitty kitty, here kitty. Come see momma! Are you hungry? There you are! You are such a precious baby aren't you?"

 She knew it wasn't what you said so much as it was a tone of voice that cats paid attention to. But if you got them young and spoke to them and played with them and spent time with them stimulating their brains, they would grow up smart, unless they had been deprived of food and stimuli or had brain damage or a genetic defect. She would do her best to see that he became a smart little fellow!
 She dug out a string from a hoodie she wore in her quarters when feeling chilly and tried to get him interested in playing, then fed him and snuggled with him while she read a book and listened to some old music. Finally she settled into bed after a quick shower, and turned out the light.

  The Kitty peeked out from under her  desk, having curled  up up the back leg closest to her  wall.

  Its little  mouth opened in its   silent  mew... it slowly walked out its little  Mouth going , its   wide eyes  looking about, it shivered from the cold of the  dec floor.

 "Are you cold little one? Come snuggle with me. You can crawl underneath the blanket if you want."

 She picked him up and cuddled him closely and stroked his soft black hat. She tucked him closer to her chest under her chin and closed her eyes.

 The  Tiny Cat,,f\ussed a bit  before settling down, they a tiny purr  could be heard  as they both drifted off...

 She smiled sleepily as she dozed off. Happy memories of childhood when her kitten purred
her to sleep laying on her pillow at night soothed her into deeper sleep.

 In the morning she awoke after a restful night sleep she lingered awhile playing with and petting the kitty. After a bit she got up and fed him, cleaned his box, cleaned her room, then bathed and dressed for gardening. She would go spend some free time before head to the Rec Dec.

 She came back long enough to shower and change clothes. She played with the baby awhile then fed him and set up his feed and water pans to last while she was away. She cleaned his litter tray as well. She called someone to see to Baby while she was away, just in case. Then she grabbed her gear and headed to the Hanger Bay.

 She came into her room and put the leftovers in the frig then changed out of her clothes and into her briefs and climbed into bed, snuggling with her kitty. His purring put her right to sleep! She slept deeply and woke slightly muzzy but a quick shower woke her up. After spending time with the baby playing and brushing him out, she dressed for training and prepared to head out.

 "Hello lil baby! Hows my precious little one? Did you miss me? I sure missed you! Let me get you some fresh feed! And water."

 She scratched him under the chin and rubbed his head then went to fill hid feed bowl and poured water into his water dish, While he was eating and drinking she changed out of her bloody clothes and took a quick shower.

 She lay across her bed after the shower and tried to read but fell asleep with the kitten purring in her ear.

 After a brief nap she woke up with a face full of baby kitty. She grinned to herself as the kitten stretched then rolled his head under his paw prepared to sleep longer.

 "Oh no little one. Your mommy has to get up and move about now."
 She gathered up the bundle of warm furry kitty and carefully laid him down in a warm wrinkle of blanket warmed by her body heat, hoping he would cuddle there and go back to sleep. She quietly moved away and sat in the pull down chair. She gave her knee some medical treatment of heat and cold alternating while working on her tablet. After a time the swelling was down and blood flow was restored. She put a flexible brace on it, then changed into some somewhat nice slacks and a tunic, slipped on slippers and headed out.

 One glance back showed baby sleeping on the bed.

 She came in and greeted her kitten, picking him up and loving on him, rubbing his forehead, scratching his chin and rubbing his chest while walking toward his feed pan, She set him down beside his feed bowl and poured some fresh food into it for him. Then she washed out his water bowl and put fresh water in it for him.

"Hello My little one! How's my baby? Did you miss me? Are you hungry Sweetie? Here you go! Fresh food, cool water, and loving is what will help you grow!"

 She smiled as she watched him eating, his little tail quivering upright with his excitement at the food and company. She checked his litter pan and threw the clumps into the trash in the tightly sealed bag then washed her hands.
 She went about changing clothes, washing up, and dressing for sleep, talking softly to the kitty the whole time so he responds to her voice eventually. She relaxed on the pull down chair at the desk, and transferred the notes about Shade's language then closed down the comp.

 Taking her reader to the bed, she plumped her pillow up on the bulkhead then leaned back against it to read awhile. When the kitty came up on the bed she snuggled him against her and stroked him softly while she read. After awhile, her mind slowed and relaxed where she was nodding off. She put the book reader aside and turned the light down low, pulled the pillow down to lay her head on and slipped into sleep, kitty snuggled against her chest.

 She woke to the alarm on her vid, and lay in bed a bit, She reset the alarm just in case and lay it aside, cuddling the kitty for a bit. Kitty's purr made her half doze for a bit but she was up before the alarm went off again. She sat up and stretched then put her slippers on and stood up.

 After she fed the baby and made sure he had clean water and litter, she set about doing warm up stretches and morning Tai chi. After she finished a set, she grabbed clean clothes and headed to the shower unit to shower and brush her teeth.

 She finished up, put her hair in order dressed then headed out.

 She came in and grabbed up Toby from the floor where he was eagerly waiting for her. She cuddled him and scratched his belly and played with him on the bed a bit. He was feeling perky so he must have slept himself out. Once she had worn him out a bit with play she took him to his dish and fed him fresh food. Once she had refilled his water dish, she turned to caring for her own needs.

 She stripped off her soiled and sweaty uniform tossing it into the cleaning unit before heading to the shower. Turning the water up to full jet she scrubbed quickly and washed her hair, soaking under the needle spray for a couple of minutes before shutting it down. She grabbed a towel and dried off then tossed it into the recycler. She combed her hair out at the small desk in front of the mirror, adding a touch of makeup to her face.

 She picked through her limited supply of "civilian" clothing before deciding on a lose flowing silk that changed colors as she moved and the light changed in the room, from deep burgundy to deep ruby red. It wasn't electrofied, just expensive fabric.It was slit but had matching trousers underneath. Maybe it was a bit fancy but she wanted to feel pretty tonight.

After a long sleep, she woke up to find Toby snuggled against her, taking up more bed than a kitten ought to. Still, she smiled and snuggled him, petting him lightly long enough to get a light purr without waking him up completely. After awhile of lazing abed and half dozing, she finally slipped out of bed and got ready for a shift at the Rec Dec.

Black stain-resistant pants, a white long sleeved blouse, a black waistcoat with large pockets, and a black apron to take in case she cooks... She dressed ready for work in case she's needed.

For someone who had claimed to not know his way around the ship Daniel moved with speed and confidence. After he had stepped off of the elevator he moved down the hall and around the corners quickly, looking out for the room he had been assigned. If Garrat had went with him he would occasionally take glances at the man. Daniel was definitely intrigued by the, so far, gentle giant. He seemed friendly enough. And if he was like the rest of the soldiers on board the ship then Daniel felt like he wouldn't have too rough a time here. Daniel sought his quarters out and stepped inside. He dropped his bag down on his bed and looked around for just a moment. Although he didn't really feel all that tired just now. So he decided he'd just follow Garrat wherever he took him. So he turned to the man with a smile on his face. Right. Eh... QM? Sec? Then the Rec Dec? I was wondering. What's this place's policy on taking out equipment from the QM? Do I have to pay for it? Earn it? Or what?

Jesse finally made it to her room.
