Zob finished off the soda and discarded it before moving over to where the chief was to support him, "Look at him if he gets any more red he might pass as a Demon... not as good looking as me though" Zob said as he stood by his coach and looked up at the angry Maris with a smirk.

  Maris  loks  at  Post as the Chief   put the   COM back on his belt, as he grinned at MAris... when Zob came over and  the Chief  smiled a bit.

 MAris   glared at  Zob,..I sent  some of your kind to the  nine hells.....

 then a Voice   cut  into his nerves,..That may be true,  WOM...BAT.... but he's  sent  More of his  kind, to the  9 hells  then you have  seen... he sent  alot of our kind to the  9 hells... .. for that matter..how many people  Have  you sent to the 9 hells... WOM  BAt ?....  he stopped  and  sipped his  Coffee and looked around.

 Lizzy walks down onto the Field and sees her Father, the Chief, Zob, LC Shadow, and another person talking, it didn't sound like her Father was behaving too well.

 Lizzy walks over she smiles at Zob, and Shadow and says," I am back so how are things going?" She will look at her Father and say," Are you behaving yourself and treating these great people with respect like I told you too Captain Sir."

 Lizzy will look around and see such a great job and she will look at the Chief and say," It is great Chief thank you so much, and I am very grateful for the hard work that all of you have put in for my party."  She will smile at Chief Post and then smile at Shadow and say to him," Sir you are coming to the party , I hope you can, no matter what my Father says, I am planning to look very nice and wear my new red dress and I hope I could possibly have a dance if that is allowed Sir."

 Then she would smile and turn to her Father and say," Dad why don't we go for a walk and let these fine people finish their amazing job, I would trust all of them with my life, we could have some Father ,Daughter time on my birthday, please." Lizzy would give her sweet little girl look that always made him melt and give in to her. Lizzy really wanted to get her Father away from here before someone kicked his ass. God she loved her Father but sometimes he just was a pain in the ass. Lizzy would keep giving him her look until he responded.

Zob's grin was even bigger, "Yes why don't you go spend time with your daughter, before i do" that statement was entirely left to interpretation but even still Zob found it very amusing.

  Shadow smiled  slightly as  he sipped  from his cup...You Bet... and.. even though  this is a warship..its also considered a colonly ship.. so  offcier s  and crew  can mix off  duty...there are stil some places  that are offcier's only but that sorta needed too.

 Maris  almost growled  at   Shadow  , whose amused  eyes stared  at him from over  his  coffee  cup. Then shot  Zob a hard look.Aye..lets go to the Officer's Club.... maybe   the people  know thier place there...

 Shadow  looked at Post, The Chief  just gave a Nod  and smile, and an easy salute...  SGT  ZoB?..Maybe you can hang around here for a bit..make sure things  go smoothly...

  as he turned, he stopped, without lookign  down the steps he said,..and..WOM..BAT.... just so you know... OC club has  bouncers... don't press your  dwindling luck.....sir...  and he headed  off to  rejoin his table.

 Post Grinned at Zob  and   started  checkign the  tables  and chairs against his Vid Board scheme

    Joseph was about to reply but the conversation was passed to Zob and Shadow, then the Captains own daughter.  He decided to sit back and just watch the magic

 Lizzy will smile at Shadow and say," Great Sir, and yes that is what I like about this ship Sir." Looking at her Dad when he said they could go to the Officer's Club, she will then say, " We can do that , but Sir everyone does know their place here on the Hermes, it just seems Sir you don't know your place on the Hermes, we are more of a Family it is a lot different then Fuji and I love it. Sure Dad we can go to the Officer's Club, then maybe the Observation Dec, then before my party starts maybe I could show you my fighter. I do have to have time to go get ready though okay."

 Lizzy smiles at Zob and says," Oh we will have time together at the party and of course the Burian Ball. Yes Zob that would be great keep an eye on things for me." Lizzy would give Zob a big hug and give him a big smile.  Lizzy then turns to Shadow and says," Yes Sir, I will keep an eye on the Captain, thank you Sir." Lizzy turns to her Father and says," Okay lets go and let everyone finish their great work." Lizzy will smile at her Father and lead him towards the Officer's Club first.

  Post   watches the CAptain  and Lizzy go up the  steps on the  Civie  side, to reach the doors  to the OC.

  He turns to Zob and says,..Damn shame he's a Captain...mabbee Shadow's  have  rbained him a few times..Damn Desk Pilots..

Zob nods upon Shadows request and watches him leave as well as Lizzy and captain dipshit once it was all over he turned to the chief that spoke to him, "Its pretty impressive to rack up kills behind a desk, did the demons die of boredom?"

  Post  just waves his hand off  at the Captain,..all i Know?.. he  flew  with  Captain Si  and  The Admiral.... They MAde a Big Deal of 'LT HAck', back then..that's how he was picked to  be the  Commander of the  Hermes... 'LT Si ' was know  for being  damn ruthless   when she  flew.. All i know  about  Maris, is he   torched a few  Demons  and Lizards....but you know  what?.. lots of Pilots were gettign  Kill, they  were rackig up big numbers.. but it was harder  at the  Demons  pulled back from MArs..... They exited the Sol system, and   where gonna  try that 'siege stuff' they  did  in Paradise.... HAck changed  all that  by going out and  punching the Empire  types in the mouth......

 He smiled a bit,...'Chief Rivets' has his own stories  to tell as well... and   'LT  Morris' could probably teach the LC a think or two if he had both legs...... LT  Hennings  split time between sitting in the  chair on the bridge, or leading Boarding parties against  Empire  tranpsots  and Pirates..... and?.. if  i remember Right.. "LT BAle'  led  Troopers  at the North Pole  on Mars... that was before   Drop ships  were ever though of.....

 He jerks his head towards the Rec Dec.....you've seen  the LC and SM and some of the others?.. they  all earn thier creds.... some pay  for it more then others..... Look?  we need instructors ..... they need to make folks tough...skilled..all that crap?..but when you sit behind a Desk... rubber stamp people   because they answered the right question   or didn't crash a fighter in 2 weeks... that's not helping.

Zob decided to help do some heavy lifting to assist the Chief while they talked, "Ive only ever heard the reports of the attack on Mars... idiots like that captain though have no place out here on the front they just get good folks killed"

Zob then moved a table in place by himself, "I'm not the best teacher but i do what i can i suppose... make sure that boy Jax comes back alive"

She will look at Chief Post and say," Chief I am so sorry for my Father, he can be umm an asshole sometimes, he just wants everything perfect for his little girl. Thank you for a great job Chief it looks amazing."

 She will then turn to Zob, " Hi sorry for my Dad as well like I said he can be an asshole. I think me being here and in his eyes it being a death sentence and him and the LC not getting along has him on edge but I did ask him to treat everyone with respect, I tried."

 Lizzy will then smile and say," Well I only have three hours to get ready for my party so I better get going, see everyone at noon."

 Chief  Post  smiled,..not to  worry , Ma'am..  I've been around those  types... he had some glory..he liked it..but now  we're out here kicking more asses  then he  kne was  in The Black!  he gave her a wink.

Zob didint really care about her father being a asshole he smirked, "Nothing some quality duct tape can't fix if it gets to bad" he had a insidious look in his eyes as he went back to setting up the field.

 Lizzy would then smile,then head to the Rec Dec, to see Shadow and talk with him for a minute before she went and got changed.

Roy shook his head as Captain Maris departed with his daughter, more than a little amazed that someone that off-putting managed to wind up as an academy instructor. The appointment was, no doubt, as much due to political connections as to any actual merit, and that was exactly the sort of stuff that had left him disinclined to apply for OCS at any point in the past two decades.  While politics still touched the lives of NCOs, it was a lot less prevalent...

He keyed in a message that he sent to all Security personnel, off-duty as well as on-duty:

Captain Maris, for those who don't already know, is a visiting VIP...senior flight instructor from the Academy on Fuji.  He's definitely got a huge stick up his brass--watch for any trouble arising around him and head it off, as best you can.  If he's causing it, you are fully authorized to detain as necessary to maintain peace on the ship.

He hoped it wouldn't come to that...but so far, from what he'd seen and heard, Maris had managed to insult, offend, or degrade everyone from Admiral Hack all the way down to the people working under Chief Post.  At some point, he was going to push the wrong button, and things were going to get ugly...and Roy wanted Security on standby for the problem.

  as the  time  drew  near for the party..3/4s  of the lights   above the  field  were out   and some stand  up lights  with   some very  good ..'homemade'  Tech work  for  color  and movement  were  set up.

 The  BAnd  was  Playing soft music  to warm up  as  people   tickled in....

  Captain MAris  arrived in a full dress, his  chest   bore 6 or so medals.. his  sword   =sheath gleamed in the light movement.

 He Met with  Rivets  and Morris, Both men were in Unifrom, but  duty uniform. Split and polish with out the flair.

  Frans and her   squad    were comign down the  stairs to the field, with   a lot of the  people who already were they  whistling and Hooting, Frans  just rolled her eyes, bit everyone knew  she loved it.

  behind  her  a few Minutes came   Shade  and Shadow...  in  duty Uniforms  but, again, clean  and sharpe

 Larry  stood  By Roy, his eyes lokign longing  it  him and then to the foodspread.

Zob was wearing his clean SEC uniform to the event he was expecting trouble from Maris especially between him and Shadow so he grabbed a soda from the table and stood off to the side as he kept an eye on things.

Sarah arrived just after Shadow, she knew she'd pull some attention simply for not showing up in a party dress, but given her preferences her chosen outfit would still make its mark. Sharp profession, humble it radiated an unshakable confidence without bragging or looking flashy. She maintained a neutral yet approachable facial expression, in part due to her facial prosthetics.

Hawkeye arrived in her Hawaiian shirt, and uniform pants. She'd tossed on her trusty beat up cowboy hat for effect. Despite the slightly worn and unconventional appearance, even a casual observer could tell the items were clean, and well kept, and somehow she looked a little more fun, avoided looking like a bum. Either way she had little doubt it'd rub the visiting Captain the wrong way, but she didn't really care. She was there to have fun!

Upon setting foot onto the field, Harry would take a moment to scan the area for any of Lizzy, however discovering the the birthday girl was yet to make an appearance would instead position herself near the entrance so that either Will or Abby would be able to easily find her when they arrived.

  No-Ca, Abby and Will came  down the steps to the Filed.. Abby just wore off  duty , as  did  will... NO-CA  was  in a light blue  dress and  matching heels  the  blue mathed the Anegl's eyes, and her    fail flicked  aroudn   as she   and Abby both held onto  one of Will's  arms , as the Two  women chatted    with  smiled   back and Forth, While Will simply  tried to not trop over  wither of them.

 Beth   arrived in a  Pink and Blue   dress  with  a purple Belt    that matched the colors of her hair.... Lyri  arrived  in   off duty, but her  hair  was  in a Ponytail, rather  then hanging down.

 The  Board arrived  shortly after.  all of them  where in off  duty, as if  to   not  'out do' Captain MAris.

She would watch as Will walked down the steps to the field with the pair of young women on his arm, with Harry quirking an eyebrow at him as she went to join him "Having fun are we?" she asked in an amused voice before turning to smile at Abby "hey Little Fish, glad you could make it" she said in a cheerful voice before flashing No-Ca a quick smile. She didn't really know the angel and although she was very attractive she trusted Will enough to know he was simply being gentlemanly by escorting them both to the party.

 This was it the moment of truth, Lizzy was so nervous, this would be the biggest party her Father has ever thrown for her Birthday. She really hoped she looked amazing, as the lift stopped, she took a deep breath and headed out and then headed down the stairs to the Field, she took her time seeing how many people where there and she wanted to make an entrance, come on she was the Birthday Girl. Lizzy walks down wearing her red 5" high heels, her low cut, mid thigh length red dress, that flattered her figure, her hair was up in an elegant bun, and she had done a great job on her makeup. Lizzy will also look for Captain Karl as she walks down the steps.

 Lizzy sees Harry, Will and Abby and walks towards them strutting her stuff and showing off her dress. She looked a little nervous, but Lizzy's bubbly infectious smile came back as soon as she saw the trio. She would say, " Hi everyone, you all look great and thank you guys for coming,good to see you Abby. So do you like the dress, do I look good enough for this big shindig?"
