Zob glanced up at Lizzy as she walked down onto the field, 'So now the party begins... time to get to work' he thought to himself as he went about his patrol of the area keeping a eye on Maris and anyone else who may try and cause trouble at this event.

Karl arrived almost the same time as Lizzy, from a different direction.  He was smartly dressed in off-duty attire...it was a birthday party, after all, but he was also there as Lizzy's date, so he didn't go too casual.

He wasn't surprised to see Captain Maris there, in full dress.  He rolled his eyes...that verged on violating protocol, as full formal dress was generally reserved for specific events...and this wasn't a funeral, or state event, and it wasn't supposed to be any sort of official military event, which meant Maris was trying to advertise his position and history...

He put his disgust out of mind when he spied Lizzy, and changed directions to meet up with her.  "You look spectacular!" he said by way of greeting.  " I feel under-dressed, all of a sudden...but it's your party, people are supposed to look at you, I suppose."  He grinned a slightly impish smile.

 Lizzy smiled when she saw Karl , he came over and spoke before Harry and the others could respond. Lizzy smiled and blushed a little and said, " Aww thank you, you really think I look spectacular?" Lizzy smiled she really liked Karl and it showed on her face.
Lizzy would then say, " You look great Karl, umm Captain, I am sorry I am not sure how to address you I have never dated a senior Officer before."

 Then Lizzy looked a little nervous and she added, " I know I am so nervous everyone will be looking at me."

  Will  got a squeeze on his  arm from NO-CA as she went off to find  some other  Hopefuls. Abby grinned ay  Harry.

  ..we  swooped  down on him as he came out of your  quarters   with  his  clean clothes on..he never had  a chance.

 there was a bit of a twist in his smile,..i guess there  are worse  ways to go...

   When the Band stops their   'entrance Song ' from  Lizzy...  Hemsly    stood Up and tokk that Mic  from the   singer and said,
..Right!....  Now... ye  know  we can't be havin' no bad Luck.. so's we Gotta  HAve  The LC  Sing the first song..Right!

 People Hooted  and cheered and gave   comic  groans....

 Shadow   went up the steps to  the Band....Now.. We  Know the real reason you folks  want me to do this  all the  Time...right?

 a lot of  women Cheered  as Shadow bowed  his head and  GAve it a shake... When he  Looked up,  he turned to Hemsly...Ok?.. what are  you going to do to me this  time...?

 Brooks   grinned   and hit the  machines  screen so he  could see the words... Hemsly  said,..well?  we all heard bits  an' pieces of some folks  this   last time out..right?.. so .. This serves  as Much fer them.. as fer the Birthday Girl...

 Maris Looked at  HAck,..He  is  NOT..going to sing...

  Hack's  hand dropped heavy on MAris's  shoulder,..Yes ..yes   he is... because   the crew  wants it..because thecrew things its part of the Good Luck...and..Because  Shadow  will do it... so ..stand...the..fuck..down...

 Captain  Si  had a  smile of satisfaction...

 The Music  started.. and  Shadow   begina to sing.. alot better the normal..but? lets face it..he wouldn't  make it as a singer..action  star..maybe...

  The  Girl started to cheer  and    dance on the   'dance  floor'.. Abby  Vanished in a puff of smoke..or so it seemed and was  'right down in front'..

 Lizzy grabbed Karl by the arm and headed toward the stage as Shadow began to sing, she moved right up front and smiled at Shadow and danced in front of him very well even in high heels.

 Lizzy loved to dance and she let go and the music flow through her. She smiled at Shadow as the guitar solo was going on. Karl got pulled into dancing if he wanted too or not.
She would sing along and have a great time, smiling at Karl as she danced with him right in front of Shadow.

After getting cleaned up and changed into a fresh off duty uniform Kira joined the party down on the field and it was a lot larger then she had expected she took a moment to look for Morgan who i assumed was over by the food someplace given how he was talking about food earlier.

Karl chuckled quietly at Lizzy's comment about being nervous.  "I thought the whole idea was to have everyone looking at you...who's not going to look with an outfit like that?"  He continued, laughing as he followed Lizzy to the dance floor, "I mean, the heels alone are enough to catch eyes out here.  I'm not sure anyone else on board could maneuver in those!"

He chuckled again at the song...people had been singing that--or, attempting to sing it, at least--since long before he'd joined the Corps.  Usually, they had to get drunk to feel brave enough, which also meant their own comprehension of what they sounded like was impaired...so while Shadow wouldn't be winning a recording contract anytime soon, his rendition of it sounded better than most Karl had heard.  He joined in the dancing readily...whether or not he felt like it, his date wanted to dance, so it seemed the right thing to do.

  Maris   gave   Hack a HArd looks.. Hack Just looked away, Hennings  snickered.

   Captain Si     Bowed ther head to her Husband  and  went  down  to the floor    to wait the next song..

  Captain Si, Flores    Frans  and Eckles   jumped onto the floor  and started to  gyrate  with hair    waving and   arms flailing.

  at the tables in the  south endzone, were   groups of  peope  movign through  gettign  food, from  burgers and  dogs, and Pizza, to slices of   steak and some sides.

 and.. there was lots of drinks. Morgan had a Hogdog   and a  soda    and was looking about.

Kira spotted Morgan by the tables with a hotdog she moved over and grabbed a burger for herself, "So Morgan what say you and me catch the next dance?" she wanted to give them both time to eat before going to dance it off.

With Abby explaining how she and No-Ca had swooped down Will the moment he had set foot out of their quarters Harry would roll her eyes before stepping forward and putting her arms about him "tut tut, you forgot to check your six soldier boy" she said with a mischievous smile just as Lizzy arrived.

Dressed to the nines in her red dress and jewellery Lizzy made for quite a sight, even if Harry personally felt that dress had looked better puddled around her ankles, and was about to say as much when Karl beat her to the punch. It was around about this point that Shadow would get up on stage to sing at which point Abby would disappear closely followed by Lizzy dragging Karl to the front to dance as the familiar sound of Don't Stop Believing kicked in "you know I really don't get Abby at times, one minute she's going on about how shadow is mean and is always picking on her and the next minute she's like his number one groupie!" Harry exclaimed in exasperation as she watched her sister heading towards the front of the crowd.

With her arms still about Will she would softly song along with the music before asking "Would you like to dance with me?" sure Shadow wasn't the greatest of singers but the song was a classic and she'd been itching to hit the dance floor ever since she'd had her accident.

Lizzy liked Karl, " I am glad you like my outfit Karl, Oh I learned a long time ago to walk and dance in these, because I am so short, it's not that hard just have to have great balance."  They Danced Lizzy smiled at Karl when the needed , she then would say," Thank you, I love that song, LC did pretty good, I have heard much worse."

 Lizzy held Karl in her arms, there was a huge smile on her face, she was so happy right at that moment. " Thank you Karl you made the birthday girl smile"

 Then the next song came on and Lizzy turned smiled at Karl and said," I will be right back" Lizzy would run to the girls in 5" heels, and look good doing it.  Lizzy would move next to Captain Si and dance with her and she would gyrate right with the other ladies having fun doing it. When Shadow tries to get by Lizzy helps Flores pull him into the mob.
Lizzy looks like she is having am amazing time.

The second song wasn't difficult to pick up on, and Karl soon had a raucous crowd of guys who'd yielded the dance floor to the ladies, all bellowing out, "I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT MY BAD REPUTATION!" every time the lyric came up in the song.

More than a few of them not-so-subtly aimed the words at Captain Maris...

..Morgan nodded,.. sure.. the Band  likes the play the slow  stuff.. so  we can  jump in then.. I  not that good at the  FAster  stuff.. good thing  about being on a ship?.. food   can't get away from us!

Kira chuckled as she was lead out to the dance floor she took the lead with the dance it was clear to those around her she knew her stuff, "Time to show them your moves Morgan!"

Zob moved off to the food table and grabbed himself a slice of pizza and smiled as he saw the people dance and have a good time he still kept his focus on Captain Maris who looked less then pleased with the current results of the party and when somebody was frustrated and angry enough they were bound to make a stupid choice.

  he   moves,  he's a bit  stiff, but  does pretty good...I think i move better in a Mech!

 Once  again Shadow tries to escape  , But  Flore   Pushes him back  onto the Floor and waggles  a  finger  at him... He..well..isn't  good, not  like most out there..but,  the ladies   didn't seem to care.

  Maris  snarls  as he looks at the  Sight..    The Admirals  are giving it  a shot..   LC  Miller   hold he rhand out to BAle.. and off they go.....Say what you want..Captain.... But  these people know thier   Officers..and they know, not a damn one of them  is....an empty Unifrom...

Kira kept him out for one more song, "Unfortunately we can't bring our mechs to the dance floor so you will just have to manage" she laughed as she took the lead once again.

 After the song ends, Lizzy would smile Captain Si,then she would smile and nod to the Admiral as he comes down to dance with his wife. Lizzy then walks towards Karl when she sees her Father looking disgusted and frustrated, she gets to Karl and says," Thank you Karl my Dad doesn't look happy I better go say hello before he explodes, be right back."

She wanted to bring Karl with her but he said he had a confrontation with him earlier it might not be good right now. So Lizzy walks up to her Father with a huge smile on her face and says," Dad whats wrong I am having a blast Thank you so much." She will hug him like a happy daughter and then kiss him on the cheek. Then she will say," Everyone is having a great time, let loose Dad have some fun, it is an order from the Birthday Girl."

Karl's grin at Lizzy's observation about her father showed he was quite pleased with the results 8n regards to Captain Maris, but he nodded agreement and let Lizzy go...then followed at a discreet distance.  He was fully expecting the captain to sound off at some point soon, and he wanted to be in a situation to deflect some of the damage.

Past experience...pretty much all of it bad...with bad-tempered guests had Roy keyed up pretty high, and Maris playing with his sleeve only served to further focus Roy's attention, although he didn't move 8n close, just yet.  But he made sure he was within easy shooting distance of Maris.

Nikki arrived with Haley.  Haley in a nice outfit,yet if she dropped ice cream or fudge on it it would come out clean.  Nikki wore off duty casual, but a clean set.  Looking about she smiled and shook hands, even moved to shake Lizzys' fathers hand.  finally seeing the birthday girl Nikki spoke "Happy Birthday Lizzy" Haley, the obvious hugger in the pair did just that to Lizzy.

 Lizzy was waiting for her Father's response, when Nikki and Haley came up to her. Lizzy expected this it was her birthday people would want to say it to her. Lizzy replies," Thank you Nikki, Hi Haley." Lizzy bent down in her heels and gave Haley a big hug with a huge smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes.

  Her  Father   tried to  be  congineal to  her ,..This  ...This is out of control..lts like  drunken dock workers...

 His  eyes  narrowed in the  semi darkness.....That  woman..Dark Hair with Shadow?...she's a pilot...I..I think I know her!  What is she doing here!..She was a Damned  EVOL...

 He looked around  for  SEC... spotted Spencer   and waved him over...

"Did I interrupt something?" she said in her southern drawl, hearing about multi colored, and dark hair...of which she had both.  She looked at the man, a tad confused as she moved her shifting colored strand of hair out of the way.  She didn't sound angry, trying to give the officer the benefit of the doubt.

 Maris  looked at her  and   have her a look of  Dismissal ,..Not you.. the  woamn with that DAmanble  LC..I know for a Fact she's an EVOL!
