"It's...quite the feeling. Very intense even beyond what I expected. Going up in a craft was one thing but the first time they let me fly on my own after the augmentations were done.

"The offer stands if you'd like to come and see me fly on the rec deck."

Sure thing but it sounds like the speeds you reach that won't be large enough to give you the opportunity to do much beside gliding.

"Even a glide is fine. Getting a chance to stretch them out some after the cramped flight over is almost as good as getting a deep tissue massage for working out the kinks." She said with a smile.

Teela's face lights up.""I'd love to! Mind coming with me, showing me the way and keeping me company? It would be nice to land and have someone to talk to and, if you're interested, I can take you up with me once you've seen me in the air."

Sure thing I think we could wrangle a couple of seats in a Shuttle headed that way to drop off or pick up Crew. I'll just get my field gear.

"I'll swing by quarters and get mine as well and meet you back here?" She asked, excitement visible in her eyes. For all her knew she was several hundred years older than he was but at that moment with her eyes bright, cheeks flushed, and the lilt in her sing-song voice, she sounded like a child at Christmas.

Re: Officer's  Quarters

While Justin is gathering his gear he catches the latest broadcast and literally drops whatever he's holding. Staggering over to a chair he sits and holds his head shaking it in disbelief. What the hell he thinks to himself audibly repeating the statement several times in quick succession. Justin considered that he was a little above average intelligence, but this latest declaration was beyond him. When will Hack begin to address the issue of Earth.

Re: Officer's  Quarters

Teela grabbed her bag but kept on her BDUs as she was off duty. Her Pulse pistol was placed on her belt. One of her large blades was placed on the other side and the final one strapped to her lower leg wigh a good deal of the sheath in her boot.

She picked up the bag, humming slightly to herself as she left her quarters. She had taken a liking to the Terran music known as heavy metal which is what she sang as she walked.

She hit the chime on Justin's door and leaned slightly on the bulkhead as she waited.

Justin heard the doorbell chime, moving over to it he pushed the open button to allow entry as he sat back down. His brow furrowed in concern at the latest broadcast. Giving An'teela an apologetic half smile he informed her that he wouldn't be able to accompany her to Etna perhaps another time.

The Angel gave him a quizzical look. "What happened? Obviously whatever it was happened quickly since we went to get packed less than 10 minutes ago. Anything you care to talk about?"

I Just watched the announcement from the APF Council and the ESN Board, I have a notion this will threaten Sol's contribution to the war effort by galvanising anti APF sentiments on Earth, especially when the Boarding actions start and ESN ships are fired on or seized.

"What was the announcement? I have the vid screen off in my quarters so I didn't see it. What could they announce that would have such an affect as that?" She asked, looking worried.

Justin grabbed the control to his screen tapping the replay button.

... Hello to people of the ESN , APF and all the ships in The Black.. We have a ruling being Handed down by the Porvost general of the Delta Fleet in conjuction with the High Council of the APF has passed a down this edict ..

..No Empire ships will be tolerated in ESN/APF space... they will be boarded, and captured, or destroyed outright.. any privateers, Mercenaries, or ships from other Fleets will also be treated as Empire assets and boarded, Capratured and destroyed..This includes any newly formed Sols System Navel Vessels.

...The New Head of the Sol System Navy, Admiral Milko Vessov said it would not deter his ships from portecting helpless transports.

Admiral Hennimgs, Speakign For the APF Council and the ESN Board andsered by saying,.. "..the EDT by any other name, is still the EDT... This is the only warnign Sol System Navel vessels will get.... Our Navy is fighting a war.. if you bring your toys out here...they are getting broken..

Vessov's answer was.. "We will stand by our commitment..."

The reporter smiled as he said, ..Admiral Henning's answer was "... Good we can use a few more prize vessels..."

Re: Officer's  Quarters

"You...have got to be kidding me. All this is going to do is anger our allies and this Sol System Admiral? He has some...what's the word in Terran? Some big balloons speaking like that? Does he think his ships can take on our combined fleet which, setting that aside, the whole idea of this is nonsense at best? So any allied vessels in APF/ESN space need to what, run?"

She gets up and begins to pace. "I know I'm just an ensign but I'm uni-educated and scored very highly on all tests so I'm not stupid. This," She stops and points at the screen. "This is stupid."

She paces some more, speaking in Angel words which, whether Justin speaks the language or not, still knows are less than nice.

Re: Officer's  Quarters

Justin is just about to switch the screen off when the Brasses announcement feeds to it. That's an interesting addendum to their first broadcast. It should alert the people on Sol about what their.
Justin motions with two fingers of both hands indicating Quotation marks Heads of State are up to. he states with a grimace looking at Ae'teela, Justin gives her a half smile of apology. In most countries of Earth, Politics is an ongoing source of division. Different representatives either think they know best how to help the people they represent but get corrupted by the power, prestige or whatever and end up self seeking slime; or they are start that way and just get worse.

Teela laughed, the sound like the tinkling of bells. "Oh well done, Admiral. In one move she just cut the balloons off of this Sol Admiral and showed him to be the fool he is. Well done, Admiral Hack."

She smiled and held out a hand. "This is not cause for staying in quarters and sulking, Justin. This is a day to enjoy so, come. We have 18 hours before we deploy so let us enjoy it. I will drag you out of here if I must so better if you come of your own free will!"

She smiled and turned for the door, the motion a dance, graceful and elegant and waited for him in the hallway so the two could head for the shuttle together and have some fun before they deployed and left death in their wake for death was sure to follow.

So she had packed a lunch for the two of them in her bag.

Justin flicked off the following broadcast before exiting his cabin. Accompanying An'teela to the elevators which took them to the Hangar Deck. I was thinking we could ask Captain Morris to allow us to take our Fighters to Etna. This would give us some additional Flight time. If we're lucky he'll let us. he suggested.

"That's a splendid idea, Justin. Here's hoping he allows us as I'd like to shake out my fighter, put him through his paces and get to know his idiosyncrasies. Smart and practical; I'm glad I was able to talk you into coming." She said, that lovely smile gracing her face again.

Truly nothing seemed to get her down and she seemed like wonderful company.

Re: Officer's  Quarters

--->Rec Dec

Limping into Gia's quarters, Harry would smile as her friend said that her stay here would be like a holiday prompting her to wonder when exactly was the last time she'd gone on holiday? No!...surely it can't be the Skiing trip to the Alps with my school friends?! Harry thought to herself as she examined the picture of a younger looking Gia painting up her first kill "Personally I'd settle for being able to walk in the morning" Harry laughed before moving over to sit on the bed.

It was as she was in the process of taking off her boots that Gia would ask for her choice of film with the former street punk on the verge of asking for the first Captain Lightning vid before receiving the offer of a Rom-Com. After a very visible hesitation she would quietly reveal her guilty pleasure "I'd like to see the Rom-Com please...but if anyone asks we watched Captain Lightning, ok?" she said, hurriedly tacking on the fact that she didn't want it to be known that the Tomboy, Street Tough had a soft spot for Romantic Comedies, she had a reputation to maintain after all.

With her boots, jacket and crutch neatly placed in a corner, Harry would make herself comfortable upon the bed, though not before gingerly peeling back her trouser leg to examine the wound beneath "I hope it doesn't scar up too badly, else I'll have to wear stockings to the next dance I attend" she said, briefly looking up to hear the announcement that they were soon departing before settling herself back down. She had eight in which to relax and enjoy herself so best make the most of it.

Re: Officer's  Quarters

Sitting beside her friend on the bed, Harry would watch the film as she ate a slice of pizza; giggling at the jokes in what was a surprisingly feminine manner for her. Ok, so it wasn't the greatest film in the world and the jokes like most, if not all, Rom-coms were decidedly cheesy but she enjoyed it. With the film bringing back memories of her sitting on the sofa back home with her mother and sister, dressed in her pyjamas and eating popcorn as they watched chick flicks together. Much like Gia she had also used those particular films to try and flirt with the boys at school with, though with nowhere near the amount of success that Gia seemed to have.

"Aww now why can't I find a guy like that?" Harry would ask as the transport trooper declared his undying love for the glamorous sergeant having made a mad dash to stop her from transferring to another ship after seeing the Captain dancing with him "...I mean no one has ever compared my eyes to a Titan sunset...the best I ever seem to get is you're dead fit you are Arry" she continued, her head gently resting upon Gia's shoulder where it had been ever since they'd finished the pizza. With it clear to Gia that she was halfway to falling to sleep already "And for the record I think SM Spencer would throw a fit if one of his troopers wore a uniform that tight" she giggled delightedly as the troopers jacket stretched tight across bulging arm muscles as he embraced the sergeant in the middle of the Hangar Dec...come to think of it Rivets would probably throw a fit too!
