The Hold

 lowest deck, supplies  and  some projects.

 there are large doors on the  starboard side of the Hold, where supplies  are brought in, either By shuttle, or  from docks , when...docked.

..there are only 2  entrances..One from the HAnger Dec..and the main doors.

  The Betty Settles down  as the  crew men Point to a spot that would set her   off to the right of the doors, and  halfway across the Hold.

 There  are Hundreds of   stacks of crates, BArrels  and Odd shaped contains...way up towards the Bow is a Muti-Track that has been taken  apart.

  The Crew member with the PAddles   Looks Up at Bo..over the  course of the next few days  we'll try and  set up a berth here...in the ned?..YOu'll need to return to the hanger Dec or ammo  and Heavy repairs..smaller repairs  you or you crew can do down here...but we have to keep the place clear for supplies and such...

   The back hatch opens and he starts pulling out sports bags and tossing them to the deck "if you have an idea where the bay is going to be set up, I might be able to help you get started before we leave dock." Bo climbs down (porcine are like white men. They just can't jump.) He snags a pack and slings it over his shoulder. " Which way to the flight simulators? "

  The  Crew member points to the  back of the Hold, just left of Middle,..so far?  there...we have Techs  coming down to add some wiring and such , so you can plug in more powercells..

 then he points to the   sloping ramp way towards the stern section of  the Hold,....You take that Ramp up..it will bring you to the Hanger Dec, near the QMs  cage...then you get the elevator to the Rec Dec..the Sims  are at the stern End of the Rec Dec...

Bo said shaking his head with a half grin "but you might want to have them look at this first."  He unzips a bag and pulls out a huge book.  Opening it up there are beautifully drawn diagrams of the inside of the ship and where everything goes. He sets a data board on top of it.  "An here's the digital copy." He leans forward and whispers conspiratorily "It might be easier for them to stick with the digital copy"
   He straightens up "Tell the techs to be careful with Betty, if they screw up her innards my little sister will skin them alive."  He heads up the ramp. "After that I'll have my turn with them." he calls over his shoulder.

   Bo comes in to check on the job the Techs did on Betty, not that he'd know a good one from a bad one.
   He jumps in the cockpit and fire up the new ESN band communications, and checks to see if the system is running.  Does he hear events going on?

being that the aircraft is  not in flight, there is no feeds  coming in. He may 'scan' if he wishes.

 If he does he will only get  squawk from shuttles and Dock folks and the like. He can only get Ground COMs  during Missons..OR...if he would actively "ping" some one.

  Bo goes through his ship's supplies:

 seal on decals to make Betty look like a actual demon ship,

 different racks for four external wing hard points for different missile systems.

 fuel air bomb rack for the ventral hard point

 rotary rack for internal missile bay [aft bay was removed in favor of an added Ion booster]

 There were other bells and whistles but most were civilian  related and would be kept back at Missy's shop.

 Settled in he heads upstairs to the flight deck to take a look around.

Hangar deck=========>

  Bo comes huffing and puffing down the ramp.  He climbs into the Betty with the practice of someone who trained not to get caught flat footed outside his craft.

  He cycles on his system as either the bay doors don't open and he get's balled out for being a reckless Idiot.

  ....or, the bay doors DO open and he still gets balled out as a reckless Idiot.

  "Another day of proving our worth Baby, Let's get this done."

   Morris has Bo's simulator read outs.  He knows bo doesn't need the door all the way open to leave, and then he can close them again.  Besides, If I recall correctly, the Hold doors are portside for loading while the hangar doors are starboard so ships can land while the Hermes is in dock.  The hold will be facing away from the enemy ships.

 The men in the Hold just shrug and hold up their hands. a Chief  walks over,Sorry Buddy.... Orders are..doors  closed  Until after the Blast...we couldn't  open them if one of the gods  themselves  banged on  them to deliver a pizza.

............. the Moment   Miller issued Orders, Rivets    strode  down the flight Dec  and shoutedorders to opem the Balst doors to Take in the  aircraft..Shuttles  first, then damaged  Aircraft...then the rest , by flight...


  Bo checks to see he's got his overnight bag in the cockpit and waits impatiently drumming his hands on the transparent touch-control panel.

  Just after the blast is past he brings his hands up. "Now?"

    The crewman were on the COMs  as Bo waited,..alright, Mr Bo? the fighters and such  have started to land...we can open the doors..but...do you have a flight plan Listed with the Captain?

  Morris   gets on the COM,....Alright , Mr  Jagger... Please Cross under the Hermes for at least 20 miles or so , before vectoring in on them, we still have fighters  Milling around out there.

 The  Hold  Crew  open the    doors.. one crewman waits   a minute or so until Bo's craft lights up as a friendly, after Morris tapped in the release.

 Alright Mr Bo..all set...

   Garrat leads her down a long smooth ramp into the main cargo hold of the Hermes.  There amongst piles and crates was a beat of Angel multi track.  A cargo vehicle that runs on six robotic legs with catapillar treads at the end of them.  This one looks to have been damaged in battle but the repair process has been started.

    Garrat picks up a hydrospanner and gets to work.  "I'll take a couple of turns while the others show up.  You gotta see the suspension system on this thing.  It's crazy."

Naomi's eyes get big as she can't help herself getting excited at what she is seeing which impulsively makes her jump up and hug Garrat. After the moment she went to take a closer look mumbling the mechanics of the new machine to herself as she noted the improvements needed as well as the work she saw that was being done to it.
 She ended up hopping up onto the machine looking at the interior as well as the gauges trying to absorb everything she could of it till she remembers what Garrat mentioned, "Show me! I can't get enough of this schöne Maschine ((beautiful machine)). Where did you say you found it?" She says as she runs her hands down the sides a little too intimately making her bite her lower lip in an attempt to contain herself.

   Garrat accepts the hug with a gentle grin even lifting Naomi off her feet but sets her down quickly because he knows she is anxious to get a good walk-around of the machine.
   "It's the work horse of the Angel military.  They use this and a really big one to run troops and equipment as well ass armored cargo and weapons carrier, like a tank.  I've watched them driven rather carefully.  It takes a lot of skill and practice with each leg having it's own set of controls.  I'd like to automate it a little so humans can drive it without special training."
   Garrat crawls under the bart where he's been disassembling the damaged parts and starts unbolting a damaged cervo. "When we liberated the moons I dropped by an angel motor pool with Ajax and we got to talk to some mechanics.  At a call Rivets dropped by and we tossed some Ideas back and forth with the guys in the shop, then Rivets made an unofficial trade for this guy and one of his bigger cousins,[ both of them busted to hell] as well as the parts to fix them.  He also suggested armoring the legs and suspension here." Garrat points "Against EMP.  I think   I'm getting used to your tools but I still need to rig a translation program so I can work with written instructions for this sort of thing and start transferring some Asgard tech into plans you guys can under stand."

    "Oh that reminds me," Garrat sits up quickly [and bangs his head BOONNNG] "OUCH, heh I was going to call in a med tech to run an Idea past them." He rubs his forehead "Apparently I've got a couple of reasons to bring them in now."
    He gets on the com "Hawkeye, Melia, what are you Ladies up too?"

Naomi watches along with listening to Garrat talk as she can't help herself feeling like she is on cloud nine. Nothing makes her heart soar more then machinery of any type and this one in particular had many stories to tell. Her smile broadens as she hears the mention of adding Asgard items to the vehicle which of course intrigues her more.

Naomi sucks air through her teeth immediately touching her own forehead knowing she has done that herself a few times while being around vehicles and machinery. She has a concerned look on her face as she looks at Garrat when he mentions needing medical officers.

She watches him COM them making motions that she was going to ask him questions, but then soon immediately rejected the idea. She wasn't sure how she was going to ask nor if the time was appropriate. She decided to go back to examine some areas she missed looking more thoroughly at the machine's inner workings getting herself accustomed to it's operational orders.

   Garrat chuckles at the look of concern and emotions that chase across Naomi's face.  "No worries, I'm pretty tough, heck, even my tattoos are made out of metal."

   He coms out, and continues to work on the multi track.  Then Bo comes in and he nearly bangs his head again, "What the...oh, so they did bring that ship on board."

   Garrat gets up and walks over to the black betty.  "Hey Bo, you didn't tell me they let you bring your girlfriend on board."

Naomi was relieved, but rubbed her own head in half sympathetically as she looked around some more off in her own zone of looking as she then decides to jump down and get under the vehicle to check out every crevice of the machine.

Looking around, he takes it in, the mechanical workings, the wiring and hides and serves!!!  What heaven!! " Is this operational !?!?! What needs to be done? What can it do? Where is it from? How did you get it? What's the weight? His fast will it move? What kind of weaponry does it carry? Oh my dear mechanical genius!!!! What have you done here man!!??!!??"

 Slick starts to climb around and look at as much as he can.......he gets lost in the mechanical world of his brain tracing and covering every inch of it , so much so that he almost forgets there are other people about.......

Catrina sits by watching the gear heads crawl over the machine. She smiles inwardly, sure that when it comes to new and interesting surgical procedures she's the same way.  She wonders what Garrat has in mind for everyone.

As people trail to n Garrat returns to the multitrack with a wave to Bo.  "Before every one scatters to shore leave I just wanted to have a quick discussion on tech."

   Garrat sets a vid cam on the multi track leaving Bo to deal with the young pilot.

   Bluntly, Hermes doesn't have the room to deal with all the gear we could secure or the space or equipment needed to upgrade it.  On the assault mission we recently embarked on I Used a med tech to look after us.  She didn't even have remote monitoring gear.  This needs to change.

She hears Slick talk about the wonders of the vehicle and is ecstatic that someone feels the same way she does as she crawls out from underneath to join Slick.

"I agree! I'm just as curious to where we acquired such a beauty. I'm am absolutely jealous! Someone answer this man's questions!"

She jumps back onto the vehicle towards Slick to help point out the hidden things she has discovered as well as her input on what she thinks about the machine.

Catrina stands by, "So as far as medical tech is concerned being able to monitor vitals can be useful. The issue is incorporating sensors into the uniforms, as well some sort of power supply. It'd most likely tax the existing tech we currently have. Additionally we'd need to have some sort of relay system to transmit the information real time. Of course one solution would be to send a snapshot every 10 seconds, but even then we'd need to use a computer to filter the data and report back only certain criteria limited to soldiers in the combat zone." She pauses looking about, "Honestly back before 2012 a lot of earth based first world governments were starting to move towards the use of remote drones. I think there were also instances of their use in the 1970s, but I may be mistaken. The thing is, with our current tech rather than unilaterally rely on snapshot low quality helmet cams could we have maybe a drone that'd travel with away teams? I could be the relay system for the earlier mentioned medic monitoring systems as well as be equipped with multispectral imaging to give troop/mission commanders a better view of the battle field. With what we have now we could probably design something light, reliable, durable, with a decent battery life. The issue is making it work." She says leaning back. She checks the time not sure if she wants to linger for a lengthy discussion now that she'd made her points.

  Popping his head up every time Naomi talks about something interesting she has found, he stops and looks at Catrina while she goes on about the .....something... needing to send signals, Naomi says something about an actuator, Catrina says,..... "Wait, Lieutenant ? are you talking about a signal to be monitored or something? Because I think I know a way to do that. If there are medical sensors in the armor suits, if there aren't it wouldn't be hard to wie the wearer before he suits up, but anyway,..... send the signal in the background of the communications signal;, the radio is always there, only open when the mic is keyed right? well, the signal is ALWAYS there, just run the vitals in micro bursts of transmissions without really breaking radio communications like you would opening the mic to talk. I mean," Looking to Garrat and the other techie, Naomi, for back, "It's always there ,,   right? Then you would have real time stats of your team you can monitor and never interfere with them, you could call out to someone if the stats were to show something weird, maybe alert another team member of someone that was injured before they would even know"? Shaking his like he was throwing the thought out  and goes back to talking about the machine like he was never interrupted. " Look here, this serve is like a worm gear, it turns all the time but transfers it's motion to what looks like a threaded bolt that extends the leg segment, and then back for the movement, that's fantastic".  He keeps crawling around like he was never interrupted, not noticing if the people he was just talking to are looking at him funny or still talking even, he's completely lost in the machine.

   "Agreed Slick, We are almost always in com distance of our drop ships.  When we aren't drones won't help.  If we can mount the sensors in our helmets, we simply send the medical information with our communications feed.  Further more, 360o radar scan of our vicinity can relay precise information on ship layout as we go through for later use, or even help if we get in a bind and troops have to find us.  I'll be building tht into my helmet when we have time so we can asses if it is useful to the team.


    "Angel medical serums are becoming available, but we need to set it up so they can be administered in the field.  I feel they are more important in the field than on the med dec."

    "I have an angel light power suit, an Asgard heavy power suit, a Demon elite suit, we have access to those exo suits we picked up on bura, there is a Occui on board who is proficient in battle suits.  This with an Idea of Slicks to make a base suit that acts as a personal key to Armor, power suits, and mechs creates opportunities we need to find a way to explore.  I've got a way that might work involving a mechanism based on the sliding filament design of our muscle.  It's time for a new basic design for the mechs so we need to start thinking over where we can go with this"


    "Apparently we have secured Quarl plasma weapons on top of the ESN and demon plasma weapons.  This should allow us to explore options there for future weapons, maybe of a mech scale."

    "The most important thing right now is to keep our eyes open for new tech when we hit Zolth...anything out of the ordinary can help.

   Garrat grabs a data pad with the multi Track designs on it and hands it to slick and Naomi.

   "The multi track could make a good test bed for experimental weaponry as well as a way to keep up with a set of mechs at full run."

  "Not quite," Bo chuckles "I think they are working on some engineering stuff around that weird Angel transport, tell you what:  I'll let you have a look around my cockpit in a little bit but let's see what they are discussing.  My Sister's an engineer and she might like to hear about some of this."

Catrina shrugs, "I'm not really an expert on comm systems and such. I still like the idea of drones, they can be used to gain advantages such as monitor enemy and friendly troop movements, deliver supplies such as ammo, or medical equipment when needed, among other things. I mean those are my ideas did anyone need anything else?" she asks kind of eager to actual put boots on ground without getting shot at.

Catrina nods, "additionally drones can be used to identify trouble spots, and enemy strong points. We can use that information to reduce our casualties from unnecessary full frontal assaults. Additionally since they are remote operated they'd be great for peaking into concealment. Well and I suppose they could be weaponized. A block of c10 and a remote detonator, you could theoretically fly them into an enemy position place them strategically and well... boom." She smiles at Garrat, "I really think we would've gotten Lady Vickie if I'd have been able to track her better. Heck you could put a telemetry guidance system and use them to guide smart munitions onto target. I may be a surgeon, but I did pay attention at the officers course. The drones could reduce our dependence on helmet cams, so that we do not have to drastically rework that tech."

  The problem with drones is you still need pilots to fly them or really expensive computers, then you still lose them if they lose signal or someone hunts them down.

"That may be true, but they don't need to be horribly complex. A few motors, maybe propellers? scale size based on payload. They can be as simple as flying a model airplane or one of those toys they used to have... remote controlled helicopters, we'd just make them more stable. If we lose one we're out 20 credits. I'm not saying we develop some of the insane drones that were in development before the angels made contact. Even if they are only effective for a short period of time it'll still give us a leg up and give our enemies something else to worry about." She raises her hands at Bo in a sort of what do you want gesture, "to run real time medical and camera feeds from soldiers on the ground we'd need people monitoring or really expensive computer and you still lose contact with them if they lose signal or someone hunts them down. Either way we look at this we are embarking down an expensive path that may result in the recruitment of comm techs and medics to be diverted from their originally assigned tasks to monitor information feeds.  What good does the feed do if we aren't monitoring them, if someone doesn't watch we'd might as broadcast a frame every 8-10 seconds. She leans back against a piece of unused equipment in the room.

  Still looking at parts of the machine, Slick speaks out, loud enough for them to hear him while his head may be stuck under the chassis, " Maybe she's right big guy, if not a 'always running' machine, maybe something the ground troops can deploy by throwing it up into the air to get a signal out about needing medieval, or maybe a signal boost", Looking at Catrina, he says, "Maybe thats what you need, just a signal boost? They can trow up a drone, that would be like shooting a 'flare', a type of short term energy boost, or a booster for the signal to alert the rear types whats going on. Even better, maybe something of the same shirt that would jam signals? like the old type chaff"? And of course, without waiting for a reply, he goes back into tech mode for the mechanical beast in front of him.

   "We've got drones, or we did."  Garrat mussed "When I first entered the Tech Deck they were working on a set.  I think they were launched or controlled from a mace or something.  If we can get them allocated to our purpose that could be great, but you have to bend the right ear and that requires more clout than I currently have.  You are wrong about the twenty credit civilian drones though.  Those take time to set up and work with in the field.  Time in the field is life.  If we are focused on anything but the mission we risk the mission and everyone involved.
   "We can't afford to risk our focus in a cheap piece of gear that will short out..."  He shakes his rifle "every time my plasma rifle hiccups.  We need military grade communication systems transferring the information.  If we're using a drone to give us info, the less routes that info has to travel, the better so best go from the drone to the soldier as a depiction on his\her Hud screen.  Unfortunately, if we want this stuff, we have to build it on our own.  Just asking for it almost never gets us anywhere.  Believe me, I've tried."

   "That being said, I had a spider drone I could use to look ahead and trusted it to a Techy that came on board.  He fried it then somehow killed himself right there on the tech deck.  Don't ask me how.  I still have the plans but need the ability to easily control them.  That's down the road unless some one has an idea we can explore before the next engagement."

    "Those drones won't do you much good indoors and I'll bet that's where the Hermes Marines spend much of their time.  I used to fly some pretty decent RC V-Tols when I was a kid.  Making a reliable version you could carry on your gear shouldn't be a problem.  Techs could build a remote into your lower arm armor.  Maybe some kid on the Hermes who wants to be a pilot can do the flying for you and you can com him your instructions."  He looks at Callan  "What do you think,  you used to dick around with RC air craft right?"

I knew a friend that had one...he never let me play with it though haha. The first flying toy I ever got my hands on was an Flight simulator in an Air Force base that's how I became a pilot. Law enforcement caught me and it was being a pilot or being in jail.

After Naomi explores the machine well enough she crawls out from underneath finding a spot to sit on top as she listens quietly on what the others have to say. To her knowledge she knew how to fix things and make action figures awesome, but as far as improvement went the items they had were sufficient enough for her. She tried to think of what else could be contributed as she half listened.

   Garrat sighs as everybody goes their way. "Usually people can't wait to get their Idea's out, now hardly anyone is showing up.  He reaches over and turns off the camera. "Well, I guess I'd better get planetside myself.  I feel the need for speed.  I wonder if they've got any wheeled vehicles here I can push to the limits or if I have to make one myself."

   He looks up at Naomi "This is an open project, It's capabilities are limited only by our mechanic skills and available supplies."

   Bo let's Collens climb in,

   Collen will notice that the amphibious design allows two pontoons rather than one long snout on the craft allowing the canopy to wrap around the front down beneath his feet.  While it's a little tight because of Bo's short stature, the tranparent control panel represents controls as slightly colored spots on a glass like surface so he has a complete view of what's in front of him all the way down under the rudder pedals, though the pontoons on either side give enough visual security so he doesn't feel like he's going to fall out the front of the cockpit.

Naomi laughs softly, "Of course we would test run outside the hold, was merely wondering where. I of course wouldn't miss it." She stops fidgeting for a moment. She had some things on her mind as Garrat and herself were alone she assumed she could talk openly.
"Garrat.. Have I ever thanked you for saving my life for the times that you did?"

She honestly couldn't remember if she did or not. She had more questions she needed to ask, but she had to start somewhere.

Naomi nods as she runs her hands through her hair. "That makes sense from the point the bullet hit my shoulder to the black out all I cared about were my teammates safety." She remembered the entire events rom the break through the gates to the piercing pain of the bullet. She began to trace the vehicle with her gaze feeling the next question is difficult to put to words.

"Have you ever committed to anyone during this war?" She thinks for a moment herself remembering their last mission having flashbacks.

    Garrat's hands pause in their movement across the pad as his translator works through Naomi's words.  He set's the designs down gently and gazes off into nothing as he process' their meaning.  His words come out phrased carefully, and thoughtfully.  She catches a snippet of a more complex flowing version of the ancient Germanic Garrat spoke before. "I've only been active in this part of space for about a month, so this war with the Fire Giants, the ones you call demons.. no I have not committed to any one here."
    He shifts so he can face Naomi but still doesn't manage to look her in the eyes as the past roils across his vision. "I was born of the accursed into the Frost giant wars of the Asgard.  My first wife was human.  I could see her only briefly between conflicts, but I held her in my arms when she died of old age. It was half a century before Sharga, my second wife taught me I could love again.  She died when her planet was eaten.  I violated orders for the first time to go to her but by the time we got there, her world was only a few rocks tumbling through space.  I have saved every memory of her though, those will never die.

    His eyes try and make contact but he falters.  "There were others after, not human as you know them but those who lived long, and fought with me in battle.  It was easier than worrying about someone light centuries away, or watching the person you love grow old."


    Garrat finally meets Naomi's gaze, and there she sees a hint of something that's a little out of place. When you can't die of old age, there's a point when it becomes unbearable to live.  Love is the only thing that can keep you truly living, and duty is the only thing that can carry you across the time of ...death between those who tether you to life.  I am old Naomi, love and war are the only constants I know. 
   Garrat looks down at his cybernetic hand.  "And you Naomi, what is it that keeps you going?"

Naomi listens to the words Garrat speaks of his past love and to have to watch them die before him. She tried picturing that, but couldn't imagine the depth of emotions he had to endure. One having died of natural age as the other killed. Which path would she end up seeing? Time was all she had now and thinking of her mortality was something that was thought of from time to time with war.
However, through it all she had good memories. The ones with her parents before their disappearance to the machinery she felt close to then to the Hermes which to her was the closest thing she had to family or love.
Her lingering question was of the worth that it would be.
Love and war rang through her mind. Two very similar affairs no matter the case which becomes a tale as old as time itself. She also states at the cyborg hand contemplating her purpose for living.

"I guess I live for the here and now. I fight for people's lives so they can live and find love. As for love and I? We shall wait and see what comes of it." She just smiled as she stared into the distance of the hold.

Naomi nodded understanding while also piecing together why her parents fell in love. Both contributed to the war, but they were both lucky enough to go together. With her though their legacy didn't die. She smiled more at this thought then decided it was time to get some rest before checking back with the shuttles. She knew she needed to take care of the repairs.

"Thanks for talking Garrat. Everything you mentioned makes a lot of sense." She jumped off the vehicle taking one more look at it knowing she was going to enjoy piecing this one back together.

"This will be a site to see when it's finished. I can't wait to start, but I think I want to be fully rested before then so for now I think I'll just say goodnight." She gave a slight wave as she turned on her heel heading towards her quarters.

  There are a few  workers stacking and loading   supplies, to keep them out of the way of the spare vehicles there.

  Not to many folks bother Garrat as he works on his  hobby, though  a few or them while walk around the thing, if its the first time they have seen it..Until a chief barks  at them, and they hustle back to work.

Henry arrived in the area designated for the Zoo. He had a feeling that name would stick, however much you tried to put a scientific spin on it.

The main thing was to give the specimens as close as possible to their native environment. Light levels, temperature, trace gases and so on was the easy bit... but the specimens would really only be happy if it smelled and felt right as well.

Areas had been blocked out for different environments, with space for the creatures to roam in as natural a manner as possible.

Some seamen came up to him, they were  in darkblue working coveralls. The seamon with Blonde hair. Nodded to him.

 ..Hey Doc.... wish you would  have COMed  , we could have cleaned things up for you.... we have all the Inside walls set... they are in there pretty tight with backing platers  Hyper  drive intot he Bulk head.. if something  would need to happen, we  woul just have to cut out  the plates and move the walls.... there is meta Glass in the  front... so folks can see, study..whatever... engineers are putting   doors in the back wall, where that passage runs? that way you can have them fed  and watered...... Tech think we  can even grow  some plants in there.. so  they'll have real  stuff instead of.... Maintaining  it might be a little more work...Chief is already setting up  monitors  for waste removal and such...

"Good for them... but they need to make sure that the new creatures won't upset an existing ecosystem before they introduce them. If they are too good in their niche, they can run riot without an appropriate predator to keep numbers in order," Henry explained.

 The female redhead  one less stripe,...don't  worriy about  Dicken here... he's been this  way  since he quit Bio-tech and  joined the navy.... I think he has  more  fish in his head, then you have in your  tanks!

 "Indeed, what else do they have to do but watch the watchers? It's sad to know many of them have been killed in the wild and now in zoos from the demon hoards. We were trying to protect and save them and only made it easier to kill when the bombs fell and the aliens invaded."

 She bent to give Mila a gentle ruffle of her ears and a quiet hug. "We will protect you Mila. You are too special to let anything happen to you!"

 She turned to Henry and asked him about his opinion. "Do you think her intelligence and alterations will breed true? If only we could have saved a male from the lab that she liked."
 She rested her hand upon Mila's back in reassurance.

"That's an interesting question, Cookie... and one I do not have an answer to. It depends if her gametes were altered. Of course, she was a very smart dog to start with, that at least might breed true, especially if the male is also clever."

Henry looked down fondly at Mila. He didn't think of her as breeding stock. She was a friend, albeit one that went around on four paws wearing a furry mask.

 "Well, nature will out, you know. It's instinctive to want to breed, even for smart creatures like us. I suppose we will know if her time comes around. I doubt she would be comfortable with just any plain old dog. Might be a bit like monkeys to us?"

 She frowned as she thought about the ones who had been killed by whoever it was trying to close the program down.

 "Do you think it is our duty to try? Or rather, sorry...YOUR duty to try to continue where Jeremy and the other's left off? It must be lonely being the only one."

 She listens to them talk as she sniffs the animal scents, her ears flicking up, then back. She whines softly looking back over her shoulder at then. Her tail goes down to indicate she is unsure and conflicted at the tones of their voices and their words.

 She walks back and sits, leaning against Henry's leg. She thumps her tail on the floor softly. She is still new to him and she wants to please him. She briefly remembers Jeremy but doesn't dwell too long. She misses him but Henry is a nice man and she isn't a puppy...well, much anyway.

 She came forward and rubbed Mila's ears and fussed over her a bit too.

Henry rather liked the thought of Cookie wearing a party frock instead of her usual coveralls. He quite enjoyed the opportunity to wear something smart himself. He'd always enjoyed formal dinners at Oxford.

   [I really need to do a full description of the vessel in my character description.  This one has a rear loading ramp so it can carry items quite easily.]

    Missy walks down the loading ramp and shakes his hands, "The black is pretty unforgiving but I reinforced the structure myself.  I can assure you: in peace time it's as sound as one of the Stoli's my brother was going on about."

    "It flies well enough out there but is built for atmosphere.  Rock steady and forgiving to anyone who takes the stick.  Just don't expect her to turn on a dime.  It can also verticaly  land on water which is great when airfeilds are few."

     She looks around. "I'd love to chat but I should probably load Bo's stuff, grab a bite and head out."

   Walking through the  doors, Past  Henry's   'zoo'.. The HC says,..you did not add Naragrans  to your Collection? The voice  was  full of venom.

  ..First..this  is  not ..'my collection'.. this is   Doc  Henry's  studies.... none of these creatures..to our Knowledge are...'people'. If, we  find out they are, we woudl release they without a 2nd thought.


 Reaching the door to the Hold,  HAck nods to the SEC troopers who oepend the Hold  as they walk in, Hack says......Everyone  but the Dec Boss..leave... Dec Boos.. I'll need you on the    hanger  doors to operate  static  field..


 The  Prisoners looked  around  at the Odd Machine taken apart and some crates  and Boxes.

  Now?.. before  we start... we  need to understand each other. He walks  his  limp a bit stiffer as the first wave of pain meds  begins to wear off...It would be  so easy...sooo...quick. To just pulverizer every enemy planet we come to... but? That doesn't get us anymore  APF members.. it  just gets us  more colonies.... Now?... In the End, Colonies are much better... They already are, our  people. But it doesn't do much for the race that was native to that planet.

  The Hold  had the  view of the  south western hemisphere of Nivar. Hack  motions his hand towards the  sphere.... we should have blown you to the 9 hells... but,  With the way  The Cavet and her people acted, I thought your people would wise up, after we pounded your..'machines"...  I was...tipped off, by your Pilot that sent Shadow crashing  onto the moon. If you will do that with  a fighter.. why not do that with....everything?

   He stops his walking, Lyri racks up her Pulse rifle , just  to left them know its active. Beth has two Vidboards up.. one is blank.. the other one is set to record.

  ..For the High Council.. you are going to do two things. The first, you will record, and beth will send a Messageto the Nivarians. Telling them , that all who oppose The APF need to seek safety.. we will release  the message, 5 minutes before  we  begin to shell.... The second thing, you wil tell us..what those machines, really are...

 The HC made a Glance at NC-37, whose  eyes went wide at Hacks orders...

  ..what you are doing...is helping me...NOT..to kill too many of your people he points to the  bit of Nivar they can see. Lilly says there  could be something in the neighborhood of2 Million or so people  killed  when we  get down with the sweep....that's not counting those  poor bastards  you had  attack us at the base....

 Lilly also says..if  we send  the message...we might Half that. Now  why do i care?.... because of the green Moon Nivarians... they have shown there are some  of you folks, who are whack jobs...But i need this planet taken care of, before we can move on to  The Gamma Quad  to  express our displeasure with the  Eoussian Goverenment...

 She walks in with Henry, warily. She stops and whines softly, sensing fear from the  SEC Nivarian. All of them seem fearful, which made her a bit more scared. Something wasn't right.

 She steps in front of Henry to try to stop him, let him know something is wrong.

Mila pointed her nose towards the Nivarian SEC woman, shuddered, then moved closer and indicated towards her waist at the rear.

Henry watched intently.

"She's scared... not surprising... but..."

He moved closer to the woman and reached out towards the back of her robes at waist level.

"Excuse me, ma'am... but what do we have here?"

  The HC's Face turned a darker Yellow.

  The  Asst HC  stepped  away fro the SEC  woman. who looked   around .

  The HC told her,...now...is the Time... TheGolden light will take us...

   Mila  whimpered.

   The woman Looked at  Henry... i have... a Pack of goldpack.... it is the explosives  we use..... I have enough on me.. to Blow the whole hold apart. she didn't sound as though she was threatening everyone, but more..informing them.


 Lyri's  rifle  shifted to her....The HC seemed to be getting angry... his assistant  stood closer to him.

 NC-37 looked horrified.

 Hack  looked at the HC,..This?  was your  Plan.. to Blow up the board?..why didn't yo do  it at the Base?...or on the Big Ugly?

 The HC was looked  with hate at the woman with the goldpack,..your  people  kept moving around, and on the transport,  there was only you..Once  we returned to the Hermes... we could take, not only the board... but the Hermes as well!

 beth titled her head, pushing   stands of  blue-pink-black away from her face,..you do know?... one person load of explosives , is blowing up a cap ship...right?

 Hack nodded and shrugged,..she's right, you know? This is the Hold.. you might blow us  up.. and some of the Cargo..maybe even open it to space?..but that will be fixed in a few Hours. The Hermes , and the Fleet..will move on.

 The  woman looked at henry..helplessly.

     Garrat shakes his head at the security woman..."But your not going to blow the pack.  The Golden light has made it's choice, and it wasn't for the Navarian or the Demon cause.  We would have never been able to do what we did if it didn't favor the change we represented.  Those who come through this will enjoy an age of rebuilding anew, then an age of prosperity like your people have never seen before.  Blowing this hold will only delay that a bit."

   He places his body between the security woman and the HC leaving Henry to reinforce the truth through their perception of the universe.

Jesse pulled her own weapon (angel blade i believe) and stepped in front of Henry and Mila for protection.  She examined the Nivarian and shrugged.

Definitely not worth the time and effort to spend on much information if she's going to self sacrifice, she looked at the Nivarian.

You kill, you'd better make sure that you take us all.  Because there will be other fury than those that care for us in this room to lay at your people's doorstep.

 She leaps forward and grasps the woman's clothing on her back, tugging at her clothes trying to tear it free to show what was hiding back there. She is so very afraid for her new handler Henry and the others who were his friends! She struggles to tear the clothing.

Henry's voice was calm and level, despite that not being the way he felt in the slightest (Mila could probably tell, but it wasn't showing to regular observation).

   With  Mila   Jumping up and grabbing the  robes ,  they tore enough  for  those to see the  woman  had a 3 inch, curved Block of , Nivaian  'C-10'. It was  , of course, gold in color... and was, just under her shoulders, to the  small of her   back.

 Lyri said  quickly,...if it is anything like C-10... that much  will Blow the Bottom of the Hold out... at least most was.... maybe even the   side of the hull where the  doors  are.... it might  ruin the  ceilign a bit...

 Garrat and Jesse  Tried to Protect Henry as  Mila  Hopped about. The woman looked at Garrat and Henry.

 The HC smiled, his hands opened   as if he were a priest at mass....Goldpack is much stronger then your...C-10. It was modeled after  it, of course, from shipments   we captured from Transports. But.. If i understand it  right?... there will be no  hold..and  depending on what  is around the Hold? perhaps we might have the Sun's  smile on us and set off other things?

  Hack  frowned just a  Bit,  The  Portside  Gun batteries  were above them, the   Park shelter that was built into the hold was next to them
..supplies to the fore... Henry's zoo to the aft.

 ..I am interested...High Council? Why did you not  stap the thing to yourself....or?.. have each of you have a smaller pack ? I'm sure   one of the others..who are now  dead.. would have loved the chance to ..'go to the sun'.>

 HC looked   around as he lowered his arms,..it was considered , too much of a risk for all of us.. and we made sure  we steered laina away from   others  during the ..talking.

  Laina  spoke up,...if...if  i allow you to take the pack from me....what will happen to Nivar.>

 Hack pointed at the others, then said, quietly, but sternly,..Right now... in fact..as soon as out business is   finished...  The Delta  fleet is  going to shell  your planet, from the north to the South..targeting , the areas where the 'better folks' live.....depending on what happens after they... we will send  Colonists back down... or...attack the planet  in  earnest..... If  we should  all die...right here...right now?  My fleet we  wreak vengeance  on Nivar, like  none have seen...and?... our  race  will be  , all but gone, save for those   in colonies  and such.

 The HC  shouted, for the first time,..Better that..then being a Slave!

 everyone looked at him... Hack said slowly,..but you take other  races to sell for slaves...and worse.... You  use your OWN  race  as slaves.... starving them, keeping  food, creds..and everything  people should have, for yourselves ...while they suffer?

 Beth says  more to Henry then anyone else...According to this... those who have shown great service to thier fellow Nivarians, no matter what that  service would be?  Will be taken into the arms of the Sun, when they pass.... those who are judged  poorly, will drift forever in the Cold BLack..never again..feeling the warmth of the sun...

He moved closer, wishing he knew a little more about explosives (and at the same time, quite glad that he did not). He spoke over her shoulder directly to Hack.

"Admiral. Perhaps it is a time to aim for a win-win situation, to prove to the galaxy, never mind Nivar, that we are better than the alternatives, that races should deal with us, ally with us, because we are the best option... not because we are the biggest thugs. A twentith century author, Asimov, wrote that he did not know what the next war would be fought with, but the one after would be fought with sticks and stones. He meant that races stupid enough to continue lashing out at each other in a futile cycle of retribution for perceived insult would only end up reducing themselves to a primitive state, losing any pretence at civilisation. Let us stand above such pettiness. It is these Councillors, not the people of Nivar, who have dealt falsely with us. Let our retribution go no further than them, the instigators of the bad faith... as a warning to all others who would cross us. To bombard Nivar would be an act of barbarity, not honour. Let it all end here, with these explosives surrendered and the bearers punished."

Henry suddenly felt very tired as he reached out and took hold of the explosives.

"Now then, how do I take these safely? Tell me that and I will fight for your planet's survival."

   There is  a thin lipped . stern look at  The HC... I can see your Point, Dr Christie....but we cannot have enemies at our back.

   ..I cannot, in my heart, feel badly, for anything a do to folks  who buy and sell slaves... and worse .... hand people over to toehgrs, when they know  what the end result  will be?

   He begins to Pace. The HC holds his head up looking down his nose as those before them ( except Lyri who has her rifle up, and aimed  from the back, where she guarded the door to Henry's zoo.

  ... This?  Is the ebst  I can offer... amd I would  be lying, if i said i was happy about it......We take care of these..... and we allow the Cavet her announcement......Then we will see. Failure to comply, will bring  down the firestorm.... when the   smoke clears, and dust settles...  the APF will have another new colony.... If the Comply, Then the Cavet will have her work cut out for her... wrangling those who wish to  save  their world, and  those who do not.

 The Sec Nivarian, Laina,  shifted the straps off her shoulders and breasts,   and held the  pad of Goldblock out towards Henry...with one shaky hand  while the other  pulled up t her torn robes.

 Hack laughs,..This...from the man who wouldn't strap that to himself?

  He Hits His COM,Captain  Morris?   Please   have the Cavet come down to the Hold....

She puts her jacket back on.  "I still dont trust you, but i wouldn't want you to feel awkwardness on our behalves."

  The girl slips on the jacket. she is still shivering, it is a bit cooler here then the recdec or Hanger Dec, a lot  warmer in the section the  made  for henry's  zoo.

     Karson come in Carrying a Bundle of angel-steel armor  that is  padded on both sides.

  The Cavet  stops  as she see   the   contraption that lay by the   static field...have you lost your Mind?.. you want to  Blow the  whole ship up?

 The HC  gave her a disgusted  wave,we would be  doing the galaxy  a favor....

 She whines as Henry calls her back so he can go get the explosives from the woman and place it in a stasis unit. She dances back back and forth nervously watching him dealing with the dangerous materials. Once he has placed it in the stasis place she goes over to him to check him over.

 Once she sees Henry is okay she curls her lip up over her canine fangs and stalks stiff legged toward HC, not liking his arrogant and hostile attitude. She can tell he is Full Trouble and needs to be silenced immediately!

 As he talks he points to Lyri and Shoemaker, and the  Council members. and waves them towards the stasis field ( Karson is still happily   taking samples  and checking it over for wiring and chips.)

  the  CAMS are on them twisting    in the  void..until they finally stop...bloated and  distended .

 Hack turns back to the Vids, as the CAM s  stay on the  floating bodies...now?.. that is a very simple example for you all.... if you wish to oppose us....then your planet, will end up, as the High Council.... shoudl you decide to work with the Cavet, and Make Nivar a viable member of the APF... the planet ends up as Laina... you have  15 minutes...starting...NOW..

 Stepping away from the  screen he  waves Laina over with The Cavet...Laina? I do not know, how much your choice  was to stay alive, or if you disagreed  with the HC and thier ways... you made it to the Council.. so you had to have some backing....no matter how this n shakes out..there are always goign to be  Rich , poor and middle class.... the importance is, not  treating the  last two, any worse then the first one....Now , what do you think Nivar  will do?

 ..there are many Zealots  on Nivar.... with the High Council  and his  assistant  floating, forever in  The Black, you have threatened them with no after life....This may make a lot of the zealots  turn.

 The Cavet shrugs,... there will be those who mindlessly followed the HC... he's gone..so is the old council. We will have to hunt  down and kill the worst of them...but... we shall see... no matter  what option? it will take time for Nivar to get back on its  feet.  The Navy is all but gone, save for the ships  that are still out on patrol for guarding convoys....  I will have to deal with them as soon as we settle in.

    He looked at  Herny with sad eyes,...Henry... i  did not know, how great a folowing the Council had....nor how powerful a grip the 'elite' had on  thier people.... you saw the look of the leaders.... it will be a civil war that will last..decades..maybe forever....with the  poorer folks suffering the  greatest.

  ..If our Gunners  are good.... and the  Blue Nivarians smart, they will flee the  cities and we'll whittle down the Rebels enough that the Balance will turn in favor for the Blue, and they can retake, what is left of the cities  and begin to rebuild....which, is one thing the Colonists  will help with we may have to leave a  ship or two, and at least one  Transport/Base behind... but...it will be , more or less over in one fell swoop..there will be  small pockets of rebels , to be sure... but those can be handled easy enough and more of the 'poor' rebels will  see  the better life they have..not...being slaves.

 ..at any rate?.. we do not have a week to spare.. They have had many chances, from the moment  we entered this  system..whether  they are this foolish... or whether they are more frightened of the  Empire's answer..i cannot say...but?..it ends today.. I could have had them all gather  for a talk..then attacked them?... but..that has been done to us already, so....i do not want to seem like a copy cat...

 the last sentence  came out bitter. most likely, because of   the people they lost, and Si's  wounds.

Henry, Shona and Mila arrived at the Zoo. A neatly-lettered cardboard sign someone had affixed to the door read "Doc Henry's Zoo" in friendly green letters. Inside, it was fairly dark, as it was 'night' for the creatures within. Some would be asleep, others - the nocturnal ones - might be up and about.

 Many ties   she used words pertaining to the  creatures  eating habits.. or perhaps this one's  camouflage , or even the dirt of another..

   There is a  Giggle,.. i was going to  Olympus Tech? I was there when the Hermes Beat them for the championship.. I  transferred to the Hermes to try and get into Fuji Tech? But they had too many entries for Bio-Tech... i had to wait 6 months?  So.. I stayed on the Hermes. I had a Job here.... anyway.. Everest tech looked good, but.. well.. I don't like Everest all that Much. I  was thinking, next time  we  get to Fuji, I'll check again.

   Looking around at the animals..even to the point of saying what she though the creatures would eat, based on  claws  and  teeth, or ..lack there of...

 when   Henry mentioned about the work, she nodded,..I am sure  i could work out a schedule with the Rec Dec.. to fit in , with when you would ant me here?... As far as the station?.. Its not the station, though  they are nice.. its the Schools.... Olympus had a great Bio-tech.. but  when Frans took over.. the   tech schools suffered... Fuji is by far the best place to go for Bio-tech.... Everest... I dunno... after  a walk around there.. i don't think i would like living there...

  There was  a look of surprise. but then she caught herself,..I would want to give them notice.. at least a few days?.. there are other  girls in the Civie section that could sue the rob too...but...

  she bit her lip again, Looking at the animals, then back,..the Rec Dec pays me 100 Creds a day, plus tips?... when some  one Likes  The LC or Admiral pops in..the tips  can almost be a days  pay..or more?... I..um..don't know if you could afford that?

 ..but i must be honest? If i could work with the  animals  and plants.. it would  have to show up in my class work?..... and if i didn't have to juggle the Rec dec.. i could  concentrate  on the beasties ansd such... but.. i would  still want to help out  for Send offs and After parties.. they  have to pull in volunteers now...


(( henry can remember her as one of the waitresses , along with Dana , who stayed out of 'the park' and helped serve the defenders on the Hanger Dec. ))

  The   Corp looked at henry  with a puzzled look...The Admiral ordered the guards?  The Hold , is just on the other side of the door. Crew have access, but Civies and  such cannot enter. We are also here to protect the  creatures, in case some one  wishes to get too curious?

 ..Since the  accessdoor  to the  cages  is  on the hold side of the door. We  couldn't let the  Young Woman through with out  a card, or at least some form of authorization?

"All the enclosures are set up so that the specimens can be restricted to one part while the other part is cleaned. The feeders are loaded from outside the enclosures. Standard 'zoo' set-up, keeper safety is paramount. I'm going to show her how to operate everything, that's why we're here. Now, what will Shona need to get in whenever she wants? Obviously, you two know her now, but you won't always be on duty.

  The Corp shrugs,..get SEC to give her  a card like the  Civie supply guys have?... we scan it..if its  real they get in.. if not..we  send them to SEC... it happens once in a while..some one takes a  keycard to try and get some goodies from the hold... they go to SEC... the Master chief, SGT Major   or Shoey scared the 9 hells out of them.. and it doesn't happen for a while, at least until the  fresh batch of  Civies  get   transferred in.

He led the way inside and went through all the systems and what needed to be done in detail until Shona was confident that she could manage. Fortunately Henry was pretty organised, and had lists for most things, diet sheets for the creatures and so on.

  She  was  shruuging on Coveralls, as she listened, she asked a bit  about water... she suggested they shoud see if the could rig a  filters trough, so the water  would be 'running' and  would clyle itslef through to save on water, and kee[ it fresh...

 She  sorted out  squeegees and such and got the ehad gear ready,..I'll start with the inner glass and work my way down, to cleaning the rest and then the food... i can do the outside  glass last?

Jesse had passed by Henry's office and when he wasn't there she had gotten his location from the COM systems.

It had taken her a bit to locate him having been here before very minimally.

Once she saw him she also saw Mila and that made her smile.  Some things hadn't changed.

"Heyya Doc" she said as she approached.  "Hey Mila."

She let the furred one sniff her hand and when she recognized her she attempted to pet her.

 she     dropped a few things  while trying to   reach for Jesse's hand...hi... I used to work on the Rec dec.... but   Doc  Herny  hired me , so i could  get some ...real time.. with  creatures  and  plants and stuff...

 The Guard gives a  wry look and a slight  shake of his  head, as   Shona fights the suit to get   zipped up.. the  tries to fasten on the  head  Gear...since the plants and creatures  use  Oxygen , this head gear is  worn with  filters on each side  of her cheeks.

 There are various  'swap out' head  gear that would  require  a small ..1 hout..O2 tank..but that is not needed here.

  from the Muffled  Voice in side she says,well..too work!... Nice  Meetring you Jeese... Bye  Mila!...   she  gets  stuck in the  door  with the squeegee sideways,  twisting  and turning until she final got in....then secured the door.

 The Guard  said to Henry,..maybe...you should sell  tickets to watch her clean... might make alot of creds....

  the  woman had her  work cut out for her, that was certain.. but  the first are  was secured.. and she began to work with the  squeegee... quickly , smoothly   making the galls    clean, on the inside, at any rate.. she had  canisters  for  droppings.. and   bets  for fishing out leaves and such from the water.

 Shona was soon lost in her  work....

 She looks up at Jesse with humor in her eyes. Her tongue hangs out the side of her mouth and her eyebrows go up and down as if to comment on Shona's difficulty getting the suit just right before leaving.

 She yawns and stretches her front legs out before her then leans back to stretch her back legs then looks toward Henry.

Jesse smiled back down at Mila's canine goofiness and gives her one more pat on the head ending with a rub down the back of her head.  She looks back at Henry and shrugs.

A bit of both, maybe, she said.  She crosses her arms casually and gives a slight shoulder shrug.

I just got back in and was checking in on you guys, she added.  Seeing what's new and such.

Looks like things are growing and developing well, Doc.  Anything you need of me?

"I asked the farm folk, they are happy as long as Mila stays away from the livestock and we don't trample the plants. There's plenty of space for us round the edges... Anyway, you never said why you'd come round. Was there something?"

Henry led the way out of the hold towards the farm level as he talked. Mila was capering around, clearly looking forward to some proper exercise.

Roy walked up to the workers being questioned.  Unless Lyri had briefed them behind his back, they didn't know more than that something was wrong in the hold, so their questions would be general, at best.  Roy had some specifics.

"Urns said they were brewing stuff up in here...any places that Urns or Collie went?"  He was blunt and direct...lives,were in the balance and he didn't feel any urge for diplomacy.  In case the hold workers were in on the deal, he added, "Two lives are already hanging by a thread, two more may be in immediate danger, and who knows how many after that.  If things go wrong, anyone who knowingly hides information or otherwise obstructs this investigation faces conspiracy charges, and possibly even murder.  So speak up..."

   ..th..there's a Still there SM... they have  some   potato peels they  Buy off the farmer?.. and..and..   some weird liquid  from Everest?.. and  there is a Metal Box  soem chicks  gave them that locked  and they won't let us near it...

 As they were Talking  Roy's  CM  buzzed  again,.. ROY!.... Az-EL  COMed... her people   were running the   Tunnels like  Shadow  does.. Jo-Wa  and  another  Angel went   down..sounds the  same   as what's goign On  with the dumbasses pilots!

   Garrat coms.  "The girls with the pilots were in the Pulse and we got angels down in the tunnels.  Not sure what I can do but I'm headed there.  I'm not sure if this means anything but the angels have also been buying whatever Grit has been brewing.  Is this something that is being spread?  Do I need to take precautions."

Roy bit off a string of curses before they could get started.  "Get that box to medical," he said to Rolfe, before turning on the hold workers.  "Who brought that box in?  Was it one of our people, or did Urns or Grit bring someone down here with them?" he demanded, his face dark with anger.  He was just starting to plot out new search protocols for his teams when Garrat's comm came in.

"Get them to medical...it's like food poisoning, if you don't ingest it, it doesn't do anything to you, but we don't know how fast it works or what the point of no return is, so they need attention immediately!" he responded...then turned back to the Hold workers, waiting for an answer.

 The Civies   looked helpless, the  talkative one said,....  These two Girls, transferred from Etna?...They said they had  these little  spice things  that would   make the   stuff better  then anything the Pulse had...They gave  some  to Urns  first time we were here.... then they brought that  metal box  witht hem when they transferred over.

  ..there is a fresh baych , about 10 Bottles   in that corner two.. it has to sit  for  a week before  folks can drink it.

Roy's response was terse.  "Still working out specifics, Admiral, but it appears two of our new civie replacements are anti-ESN, if not outright EDT.  They brought some dormant Demon parasites aboard, convinced a couple of our pilots to include it in their home-brewed hooch.  Initial symptoms resemble heavy intoxication, Stefi's already aware of it and has the first two victims in Medical, we're bringing more in as we become aware of them.  Found the still, and their stash...if they survive, Sir, you better put Urns on a shuttle for the Delta colonies, because I'm one drunken confrontation away from shooting him myself."

He answered Garrat next.  "Stefi's used to dealing with a full combat situation, a skirmish at the Pulse isn't going to overload her surgical teams, and she's already gearing up to treat the problem.  Just get the victims there, let her worry about what order people get treated in."

He turned to the pair that had been watching the Hold.  "Get this straight...you report ANY illicit activity in this hold to Security, got it?  If you're lucky, you might be facing a reprimand.  If you're unlucky, you're facing criminal charges.  For now, Maxon, take them to Security and get their full statements on record.  Hawkes, you get demolition duty on that still...break it down to whatever size you need to haul it to the forge section and they can melt it down.  Before you do that, I want you to take the rest of their latest batch and dump it out an airlock as violently as possible...I don't want any chances that someone will stumble across a bottle in space and decide to be stupid and give it a sip after they thaw it out."

He grabbed a couple of bottles, plus the chest that Urns had guarded so zealously from any of the hold workers.  "I'm taking all this to Medical...give Stefi a raw source and a gestating version, maybe it will give them some leads on the best way to treat it."

 Hawkes  was  on the  COMs    to Karson while  they commandeered a Hover    jack to load the  Still up.

   They got off the  elevators.   Henry's   intern was   almost done    with the  walls and the animals  and such looked like they were  comfortable.

     When they Entered the Hold  Shadow  told  the  SEC   troopers,..go to the Rec Dec.. tell the  waitress that   the LC sent you up for   something to drink... it will take you...30 minutes to return....

 The SEC troopers looked to Roy..

   Shade    climbed  up on a crate.. the   larg sat  next to him..

  Grit  was Looking  worried   and ill at ease.

  Urns  was  doing a slow  burn.

Roy looked at the troopers.  "You heard the man..."  He jerked his head in the direction of the hatchway, indicating they should go.  "I'll keep an eye on your duty station until you get back in half an hour..."  There was a definite emphasis on the pronouncement of the time margin...Roy wasn't sure what Shadow had in mind...but he was quite certain it would be over in much less than thirty minutes.

      The 2 SEC  troopers     Nodded to  Roy, saluted  the LC  and  left, not  quite at a hurry.

   They  Gave  Henry a  Nod as he past.  The  Larg's  tail  went up and  down a  couple time  as  Mila  and Henry entered.   Shade Bleeped   as he waved.

  The LC   gave Henry  a  half-smile,..he Doc.. You  should have seen the LArg  in the Tunnels... he  ran   the   sides of the ship fast enough, to  come  back   go around   be and  back the  the far in... 3 times before i reached the other  end...

  Looking at Roy,...might come in handy on the ground...

 Then  turning  to  the two pilots,..now?... we're  headed into the Anzio-Etna  Trench, by far, the shortest route  to  Anzio.. But the    Twin Planets Help hide  pirates...Empire  folks...and?.. will start to Hide our   folks  too. This is Gonna be a  rough place to be, if you  have  dealings  with the Empire

 He stood  at Parade Rest, which is something he never does,...Its  My thoughts  to have you fly crop dusting shuttles   in the Delta  Colonies...But that  leaves  us short 2  vet pilots , going into the trench...

 ..at the same  time, the pool pilots  need to fly sooner or later...so?.., to me, there's not much difference  between  sending you away.. or you getting shot  down , but some  Lizard in a fighter...

  His head   would move  slightly   as he spoke to  each of them, making sure they had thier  eyes on him.

 ..what i really  want to do, is toss you  booth out the static  filed and let you try to climb to the Top of  The Hermes... if you make it?..  we bring you back..But.. I don't think the  Admiral  will like that too much

  Opening  His COM,..Beth..I known you'er  busy.. But   can you tell me the outcome of the  Parasite Hunts on the other ships...

  It was   quiet , SHadow Held  his COM out.....10 of the ships reported    civies  smuggling in  the parasites...  those   infected   have been treated  with Doc Henry's  find... All the Civies  have  talked the Long walk home.... There were 10 crewmen who were involved.... 5 of them are back  on active  duty.. the other   Five are on thier  way to  the Colonies...

 He  took his Dirk out  and  tossed it  on the Ground by  Urns's feet.  He turned to  Roy,.. Give Grit a Blade.....then take off your weapon's  Belt, Shade  will hold it  for you...

 The Larg   Blurbled  a deep  wet sound  from its throat   as its  eyes   narrowed    and head lowered.

 ..Right?... trial by combat....with a twist... You  draw  blood on me or the SM.. You report back to duty, but.. your  next mistake , you walk back to Fuji.....  if  we beat you down... You   return back to  duty, and Your   next mistake   has you walking  back to Fuji...

 Grit looked ,..but?..that  doesn't make  sense?... we're ganna  go back to duty  anyway..with  that 'anging over  our 'eads? What's  the difference?

 Shadow smiled,....by what you did.. you  cost the lives  of   Three of our Civies... the  2   spys...  got  3  angels  sick...and almost killed Harry..The Civies?... didn't need to die.. they were in the gods be damned kitchen, working..earning creds....

I already told  Stefi to be ready  he waves to the Blades.....Pick a Blade,   and say who you are gonna   attack.. we're  running out of time before    VIPs   show up.

  Urns  grabs Shadow's Blade,..I'll take the SM... ..

 The  Shade  snaps   His  fingers   as he moves to the FAr side of the Hold , to Separate  Urns  NAd Grit.....if..you think its a good  Idea to gang up on one  of us.... Shade or the  Dog-lizard thing...might take exception .. so?..  stay with in the rules.. and  we'll see what shakes out...

  Once  Shadow reached  Opposite from Roy.. he motioned with his fingers..Grit  , lookign  more then a little scared..  leaped  forward.........

  Shona  was   Just  finishing up the  last section ( closest to the  Stern).

 She was  steppign out ot he  Metaglass, a  bit wet  and   smudgey. She  smiled,..Hi Doctor... I don't know if you know?.. but   there  are some plants  in there that starting   growing   little green berries?... from the look? They started  as seeds?... might have been in the soil?

  Shona  nodded,.. I     put  some   Glass   around it to keep the  animals  and insects  from it.... I'll be  right back...

 she  took  a  container  from a  back pack she  had  sitting by her   belongings ,  he   took a bit of  time , carefully removing  the  smallest plant that had a  few berries. Then backed out of the   Zoo  to  no animals   might try to escape.

  ..If   i am not mistaken? The  section   these are growing, are  from te Bura   section... it  could be thier  'staple"  Berry?

 She HAnds Henry the     comtaier,  and the lid, since the    plant  was a wee bit taller  then the  container

Roy had two options for a blade...after hearing what Shadow had in mind, he put his Ka-Bar down by the dirk...the kukri wouldn't be a fair thing...and not because of any advantage it would give the pilots.  It was a heavy blade that required a specific technique to use most effectively...it would be like asking him to take a long-distance shot with an unfamiliar rifle.

He stepped clear, and when Urns declared his intent, Roy got an unpleasant smile.  "Thanks, Shadow...I wanted a good excuse to give this guy a solid beating..."  He nodded to Henry as the doctor passed through, and stood ready, weight forward on the balls of his feet, balanced...ready to move...

He feinted a move at Urns' knife hand, as though to disarm, using the move to close distance.  As soon as Urns moved the knife, he snapped out a kick at Urns' knee, opposite the knife hand, aiming to either hyper-extend the joint or dislocate it, depending on how much weight Urns put on the leg and whether the kick caught it straight on or from the side...but he definitely wasn't waiting for Urns to come to him.

 The  two watched  as  Urns  Yelped as  his  Knee Buckled.. He  slashed  madly at Roy, It was  easy to see  Urns  wasn't  just trying to 'draw blood"

Shade watched Roy .. moving  and     weaving in  Place... bleeping  and Buzzing...

 The LArg  was coiled  as it  watched Shadow with  Grit

Roy 'tsk'ed at Urns, shaking his head slightly, his eyes never leaving the pilot.  "Looks like you're about as good at knife-fighting as you are at picking up ladies, Urns...did you decide your hooch needed to be stronger so you could get someone drunk enough to go with you?"  He made a feint at another kick at Urns' leg...then went in hard, one arm moving to block the pilit's knife-hand while the other did an open-palmed strike at Urns' nose, swinging down in a move intended to break the nose and maximize the surface area that was hit, without risking any bone shards being driven upward toward the brain cavity...it wasn't a move to disable, it was to maximize pain and discomfort...

He handed Shadow's dirk back to him, pommel-first, and strapped on his weapon belt as they walked out.

Wild   was whimpering again.. and  soon on the Dec, with a smashed  face  and bleeding a bit.

 ..you'er going up tp Med Tech now... tomorrow  you'll be sent  down one of the Aqra  bases.... don't..give the a reason to search too deep in your records.

 The  Med tech  came in and  gathered Wild up on a stretcher.. Shadow   shook his head as he gathered his stuff  so he could get cleaned up.

 Billings eyes wee on Shadow as they walked out of the hold.where does a Pilto learn to   fight  with a knife like that...

 Shadow winked,..The Battery in New York, after   it was  tore up for  laying keels for   Cap ships.

  Garrat goes over the multi track.  He made the piloting system similar to the old D8 cats on earth with extra mechanics built into the levers to operate the legs independantly or use computer and sensory equipment to chang how it traverses the terrain.  Any one can drive it basic, it may take a little training to go over terrain that a tank would have trouble with.

the time for reassembly has come after making it human freindly and adding the upgrades suggested by Rivets.  If Hermes ground forces needed a transport, he had them covered.  However storage and transportation would have to be worked out some where else, likely on the largran transport.

  Garrat starts working on the independant leg servos, sitting at a distance and firing them remotely to set a base line for maximum extension, and adjusting so each one was calibrated to the same hight of extension as the others.

   Are all of them up to par or do I need to replace some?

"They certainly were conducting breeding experiments, but they seem to favour neither artificial insemination nor actually cross-species breeding, they inject Demon DNA into living Aqra. It makes for sorta supercharged Aqra. They'd also tried seeding Aqra eggs with Demon DNA. Human experiments were of the more conventional kind, but the human side wins out over time, the effect of Aqra DNA gets diminished," Henry explained.

   Garrat shrugs, "You sail on the hermes and are the head in your feild.  Leave instructions to keep an eye open for breeding facilities.  Judging by the nmber of creatures they were going to export, I can't believe this was the only one.  Once found your people can confirm or deny this possibility.  If confirmed you, or some colleges who are gaining status, can figure out how to clone the scent organs and then we would have another tool against the empire."  Garrat laughs, "I know it's far fetched, and thiese suggestions are what got me busted down to Captain at home, but it's one of place many places to start and to train the next gen of scientists.  By the looks of things, you need to make your own breed of scholers if Midguard is to become a force in space."

   After getting this out Garrat becomes focussed back on his project for a bit.  It seems once he gets an Idea off his mind and to the right people, he can let it go, clearing room for the next.  "By the way, we got ahold of one of those walker transports the Aqra used.  I'd like to have two as a way of getting assault teams under enemy AA through the seas but If your people fund it I can shift it to underwater science in exchange for some funding on other vehicle projects."

 there  are  4  Hold  workers  and 2 SEC in the Hold They have two windows  open from the blast Doors.. the Hold  faces away from teh Station , and they can see  many of the other , orbiting docks, and the Delta ships   that are docked.

 The Hold  workers   brought hover  jacks  and Hover lifts over to move  supplies around to uncover the  two Sims.. they were as  tall as  a  mech.. and    about a   4 feet deep.. Like the fighter Sims, there  was a canope  you would enter, as a standard  Mech would have.. they were  covered  in  poly wrap

 The  forman of the  dock workers  said,..these  were gonna be  dropped  off at Bura, next time we  stop by, since they ise Mechs  dwon there  to help patrol down there..

 Teh foreman  adds,..when you get them on the pallets ..take them down towards the stern so you can use the   service elevator  that   will take yuou up to the Rec Dec.

Zob was in full fight mode as he made his way quickly down the hatch and into the hold, "watch my back Jax if whatever it is tries to hurt you put it down" he had the rifle up as he made his way quickly down the walkway he heard the loud noises of fighting it was then he saw the Germans attacking Shadow he shouted letting out a warning shot, "DROP THE WEAPONS AND PUT YOUR HANDS ON YOUR HEADS OR WE WILL USE DEADLY FORCE!" He then kicked the downed omnicom operator in the face that Shade was attacking.

    at the sound of the weapon..  some of the Germans Looked up..others    were too  'into' the fight..

 when the    woman's Legs droped off  Shade.. the wild   little Verian charged  Von Straff.. slamming into his legs  with a perfect shoudler  tackle.. the of the  femurs of  Both legs   Caused  Von Straff  to scream Out  in a High pitched Voice...

   Jax hit is COMs...we have   a problem in the Old.. send  SEC and Med techs...

 he was Close  Behind Zob.. Shadow  swung  half  a  2X4    into a Man's  Ribs  then Punched  him in the face.. of the 14 germans.. 7 of them  wee out of the  fight..counting the three   Shade had  taken on.. He  was Pounding   Von Straff , mercilessly on the back..

   one of them tried one  more swing,,   But  Shadow    stopped  it and  jerked the  board out of the man's hands... the rest..hearing Von Straff screaming and  seeing the maniacal Verian beating on him, dropped  thier there  weapons.. all off them   were bloody, Shadow  didn't look to great either ..

Zob moved in his rifle pinned on the Germans and pushed them all to the floor and began zip tie their hands behind their back not being gentle about it at all if they tried to fight back he would shoot them, "Jax zip tie them if they try and resist shoot them..."

As he got to SGT Vollen and bound his hands, Zob then grabbed him by the back of the head and brutally slammed his head into the steel plating face first to bust his nose and his teeth he would never eat solid food again after this.

 He lifted  the   man up  but  the tunic   and dragged him  over to the others, and threw him down.....who's idea  was this?...

 no one looked at shadow ( to be fair , half of them couldn't!

 ..damn Kommandos?... this is what you had to do, for one gun and a  Veian?..

By this time other members of Sec were showing up it wasn't gonna look very good for the Germans, assaulting a commanding officer and conspiracy it wouldn't surprise him one bit if Von Straff took the long walk home he rounded the Germans up and prepared to take them up to Med Tech.

  Med tech  came in with Hover Carts... Putting Noggins  and the  Omincom  operator on the   First two..

 Will showed   up  with Mann  and Maira..Damn LC?....

 Yeah... somehting like that

 Von Straff  was lifted  onto  the third cart....

 Shade's eyes  were Red   as he  stood there  with Bloodied hands..his  chest heaving.

  Yeah.. Me   Mann  and Maria  can  handle this bunch.. you did  all the hard  work for us..

  The med techs   got the others to thier  feet and began  marching them   after  the hover  carts

  Shade  gave  Zob a  pat on the    Arm as he   went  to leave, and gave him a    thumbs up.

 They were the last to leave the  Hold.

    Garrat had followed shadow down a couple minutes after he left.  Coming down in the middle to and He watched them clean up letting them have their day.

   When the time came for cleanup, he uncerimoniously through a German over each shoulder and carried them up to med bay, probably making a second or third trip before the medical and security people had lifted the rest away.

   As he put each German down in the med bay his words were simple:  "I warned you, this is your own doing."

   People arrived on the Dec.. Hennings was there in a Hermes Tee shirt and shorts, he was  sweated up and  Looked As fit as the Admiral.

   General  Bale was  quite as  fit.. but he was there  as well he ha d a Vid board.

  the  Germans were  Lined up  by the static   field Facing Inwards..  Hack stood in the middle   with the  Bale and Hennings   to His left... Trooper s   slightly behind Him

  The LC  and Shade   moved all the way over  to the right side of the Admiral.  the  three  folks on Hove r carts  were  at the left end of the Line.. Von Straff was  put in a HArd chair   in front of them, not  far from HAck.

   Right now... General Bale.. what we have   here.. is a group of  folks who tried  to...at very  least.. Give the LC and the Ambassador  a Beat down... what we have learned thus far... is   .... 3 members of this Unit were  missing  from  normal training.. they records  were   adjusted  to  cover  that lapse in time.... Only a raw  recruit  Notcied  an Award given to an Earth Human  for cervices  rendered, saving   some   Elipsian   big shots...

 As  we  talked  to  LT Von Straff.. we learned there is  a  Contact on this vessel..with certain targets  in mind..  I can only assume there is   gather Intel involved as well.

 ..This is how  this is Going to work...There are  14  Germans here.. all of them took part in the attack on the LC  and  Ambassador.....  The SGT Major is going to ask the Question..."who  is your contact.".. if  we get a name.. we wil send   SEC to bring that person here and Join the party... If  al goe s well the Germans  will be  split up and sent to   colonies..

  Hack Looks  at the  Group of Grmaans    , he has a smile that shows  contempt.....now?  I know you are thinking.. what  happens if things  go bad?

 Hennings  read from the scan results.....That  was    CPL Ander Vokes.... Ms  Viola  Probst  is next..

 " Please LT... It is not  right  for us to Die   for your Contact!"

 General  Bale, though he was  more or less the Judge, added a very subdued  bit of  advice... We   are fighting  those , who  would   take the Sol System  and Earth.. if  have helped , Many of the APF peoples  get free... why would  you help people, who wish to stop us.. Your   acts against the LC and the Ambassador    will have you sent  away?.. but  at least your children  might be able to grew up, with out fear of being eatne...or worse...

  Hack Nodded to Roy.

 Shadow looked at the people  of the SEC.. He Nodded   to Zob.....After  Shade  gets  his turn... you can have some fun  if you want?

Roy's face was dispassionate, unfazed by the death of the trooper or the pleading of the next in line.  "Your contact, Lieutenant.  Understand, I have no qualms whatsoever about pitching the whole lot of you into the Black.  Anyone dense enough to think they could jump Shadow is too stupid to be much use out here, and everything else you've done thus far marks you as cut from the same cloth as the EVOL traitors who openly sided with the Demons.   The ONLY chance you have at saving your unit is to give us the answer.  You've already signed your own death warrant...we're just offering to commute the sentence.  So, who's the contact?"

He glanced at Viola.  "Ms. Probst doesn't look quite as fit...of course, in this case, that might be a benefit...she'll black out faster, won't suffer quite as long..."

He looked at the group and said, "Or one of you can do the decent thing and answer in place of the lieutenant, and save Viola's life.  But speak up quickly...the clock is running..."  He glanced over at Bale and nodded, indicating he was done talking and the countdown should begin.

  THe Little Verian stepped   for  Foreward and  grabbed the woman's  wrists, dragging her to  the   Static field..  she fell to the Dec   Kicking,,Sobbing , screaming.. Shade  with pitchblack eyes. swung he rout  like a discus player.

 Her horrified Face  staring  at Von Straff  as the     zip tied  hands   reached   out  for help that wound Not be coming...

 The german  were  shifting now, scared Of the    three on Hover  carts, only Vollen was   awake..

 One of the Snipers  were  next.. Willie  Von Vitten....is next....

 Roy  asked the Question.... 5 seconds  passed.. Shadow Nodded to   Zob  As    Nagy stepped  up to scan his  wrists...

Zob walked over and once Von Vitten had finished being scanned he picked him up with one hand by the uniform and walked him to the static field, "You can blame your LT when you meet him down in the nine hells" was the last words he said to him before tossing him out the field like a javelin.

Once the deed was done he returned to his position and awaited the next person to get sent out.

Hawkeye stood in the back of the hold. The whole proceeding made her feel sick, but she was there to take care of survivors. Vin Stroff stood his ground allowing the first two of his people to die, she held her arms crossed glaring at the LT angrily. The lives of his people weren't worth his mission in her opinion, but she held Hack, the board and VonStroff all accountable by her own ledger.

Garrat grabbed Tanya roughly and forced her in front of Von Straff “Look at her Straff, you will watch the whole thing if MAria has to cut your eyelids off so you can never close them again.  You care not for your soldiers or the human race, so think about yourself.  I will rip her shirt off and cut a hole in her back before I hold her against the static field.  You will watch the horror on her face as her intestines are sucked out of her body yet she will still be alive as her stomach collapses in front of you and her screams fill your ears.”  Garrat draws a knife and cuts one sleeve off

Melia stood near the front watching.  As far as she was concerned they could just toss the German contingent out the field and call it a day.  But that left the issue of the mole on the Hermes. She watches Garrat issue his warning. Soon to be 3 of the 14 out in the black when it dawns on her, 10 more then it's just VonStroff after he's gone there's no lead beyond his word and digital records. The German was playing the long game covering his trail by letting Hack and the Hermes kill off potential sources, assuming the German didn't give two shits about his people much like the fake security agent she found at Fuji during the op with Shadow.

Edging up to Shadow she leans in and whispers in his ear. I think he's playing the long game. Each one we space is one less potential path to our mole. If he hasn't given up by the end don't kill him we can extract the information by other means if necessary she says implying torture and other means.

 Hack watched  as he looked  to Will to he  ,   readied his  weapon  in Case Garrat,  tried to end the proceedings.

   Shadow   shrugged  to Melia,..I don't think the Troopers  know?..  If that would  be  me.. and I knew something the demons  wanted.. I wouldn't  tell them... But if  I was a  traitor?  You are  ready turned  coat once...not  hard to do it again...

 ..The  Top 4  though... they  know... or have a damn good idea.. only  2 of them can talk though, so?.. How much  do they care  about thier  their  people?.. This isn't just for here  and now?  This is for  anyone else  who  wants to throw in on the wrong side?...Anywhere else in the fleet, they might   get Brig time, then sent away... This is the Tip of the Spear... there has to be a very harsh example  made..

 Then there is  a growing  HAlf  smile,..besides?.. They all should be dead  already....

Roy's face hardened as Garrat described the death he had in store for the German woman he'd been tasked to eliminate, and appeared about to speak out when Admiral Hack gave a verbal push.  He still scowled at the moment where she was slowly pushed out, then pulled in, before being 5hrown out again.  He was here to get answers, if possible, and to get rid of the liability the compromised Germans presented.  He wasn't there for torture...if it came to that, he'd go to work on Von Straff directly...torturing the subordinates galled him.

It appeared, however, that Hack might have had a similar mindset...and it rapidly became a moot point as Von Straff continued used to refuse to answer, and they worked their way on through his troops.

"I'm glad we found out this soon about you," he commented darkly to Von Straff.  "Too stupid to recognize the orders you were given did nothing to help Earth, too selfish to give half a damn about your own troops...I don't even want to think about how any troops that would rely on you for reinforcement.  Poor bastards would be screwed."

His tone was caustically dismissive.  "Whether you give us your contact or not, the Fleet is better off without you.   So, go ahead...stay silent.  It's not much of a loss for us, to be honest."

     Will and Jax    droped the back by the   static  field,, there  was  a twitch or  two from inside the bag. Jax  looked at the bag , then to Will.. while just grinned and shrugged.

  McNeal   loosened up,   she slashed  with the weapon   and   spun the   thing from  it s  Grip    flipping it from hand to hand.. Shadow had his   arms   crossed,  then shrugged.. he  drew  his  Blade and tries to  spin it, he dropped it...

 She grinned at him.. Shadow looked around  embarrassed.. putting a   fingers to his  mouth.. ..oops

  he   tried to pick it up and droped it  again..McNeal   laughed.. Jax looked worried.

  Shade sat on a Crate  By  MAria , he had a  Bag of pretzels  and offered her some,  and she  two a couple.

 Finally, the LC  got his   Blade in his HAnd.. ..ready?  she Nodded, he  grinned , she grinned,  then he   spun his blade  around    flipping it over his shoulder to  catch it  with the other  hand snatching  it out of the  air  while he looked straight in her eyes, then   the left hand spun the Blade , and tossed it to the  right  hand.....The   SM  will  said..'GO'..

Zob moved off to a crate overlooking the soon to come fight he had his Largarn assault rifle with him, he aimed down the sights keeping it fixed on McNeal and the general area as they had their trial by combat she may of been good at hand to hand combat but Zob was a crackshot with just about any rifle and anyone stupid enough to interfere would find that out the hard way.

Pushing her away...

    whether it was blind  rage, or  hopeless fear.. she charged    this e time   diving to the    side  to try and  Slash his  Right leg... The LC leaped in the  air, and Brought his     blade  Down on he r tailing left leg.. slicing  her  from  the Thigh to her  Knee ..

   She screamed  , her blade fell as she   grabbed the ruin Leg.. Shadow  crouched.....Strike  three... we're you here when I  fought Lilit  with Vibro Blades?

 She  was Hurt, Scared ...  Shadow  Kicked the Blade over to Jax,..Make sure MAster Chief gets  her  blade  back...

 SM?.. You gave  me a Good  Idea......  Open Up Von Straff's  Back... Put  McNeal in with him... she'll have  an Hour of    air in there.... since she didn't mind spending the  night  in Von Straff's   when she   brought  that BAckpack....so?.. may as well keep them together...

 Shade  had a small  smile with Green eye.. he gave Shadow a Thumbs up..

The Hold

From Tunnel-Hanger

Diverting from the Hangar, Viktor moved down into the depths of the ship to the Hold. Orders Shadow had given him, sent him away from the rest of the pilots. Two crewmen were waiting for him beside the prize he had come to claim. Sliding his helmet into place, he clambered up the ladder and dropped into the familiar cockpit. Going through systems checks, he fired up the engines and slowly gravitated out into space.

Kira arrived down in the hold making sure she had no weapons visible as she made her way off to the static field area, "Ok good work you grabbed the tools Morgan, once we get out there we hold tight until given the signal... will make it look like we are doing standard starship repair work... no weapons visible until given the order" she made sure they understood before getting ready to head out the static field and to space.

  The Pirloc  squawked  a bit   as they  went do9nw to the Zoo. The woman  Henry had  hired  to  clean the   zoo, was  setting the Metaglass protectors , to  help protect the   pames  from damage should  they be  boarded  or take  hits.

 The QM  guy  followed the two, Val, and the bestie  down to the Zoo...I have to make sure  its   confined, before i can report back to my station... according to  The  Chief  who scanned them in?.. the  Kid  paid  10 creds for it , at a pet shop in  The Uppers  on Everest...  If we seize the   thing?.. I guess we have to pay them back?

 Val watched the woman taking  extra  card  as  they   slide  panels  in front of the  Metaglass.

   flanking the Hold Bay  were   two heavy Pulse gun 'nests',Troopers  were  beginning shore up  with   barrier panels   so they   had over lapping  fields of  fire  in case   some one tried  to  enter there.

 Shona looked  at the   containment  area,.. we can put a divider in.. be  about  3 feet wide.. and the  10 foot tall  a  perch is  no problem, one of the  trees will ne in the  section?... we  can   redesign it  after the   conflict is resolved?

 The  QM   trooper  took the  Creds...I'm close, so I'll just run over to the Civie section  Now.... he tapped his COM   and waited for an answer.

 Yes?  Ma'ama?..  your  creature  has  been  taken into   Bio-tech containment?..   you can visit it   when  actions  warrent... I'm on my way with some  creds  to reimburse you for your  costs..

  He nods  to  henry,Civie  are gettign ready for the Bunker, so i'm goign to run it up now, and   then report to my station...

 he took off  on a fast jog towards the Civie section.

The whole time Zob didint back down he raised the piece of meat and motioned for the creature to come down and join him, "Ashu gro fushka!" (Come down and eat and be strong) he needed to get the creature confortable with his presence and he knew it was gonna take a great deal of time but you had to start somewhere.

Zob made a motion for Shona to place the cleaning supplies in the cage once she did so he stepped closer to the creature and lifted the piece of meat up to the Pirloc and gave it to him before going back to grab the supplies to clean the cage for her.

  The  Pirloc   leaned its head  and snapped the  meat, holding it  down with a  claw  while it   took bites out of it.. as hit  chewed  it looked  around and Watched  Zob  clean this inside of the  Glass  as Shona  ran the hose in for he   to 'flush  any  thing to the back of the  containment area  that lead to the   water  recycle.

Zob corrected himself, "It was a fully grown adult but not a elder, it's obviously been there a very long time and I find it very fascinating... Most Pirlocs hate demon kind cause many of them eat the eggs it's why there is such enmity and hatred, however when you have a wrymling like this the potential to grow beyond that enmity is possible"

Zob then shrugged, "Not gonna pretend that I'm a genious on the subject of Pirlocs I just grew up among them and know how to care for them"

  ..I saw the Lonnox  a few times in Doc henry's   offcie ..it used to stay there alot? Some how Melia  ended up with it.. It does get  protective..i think it was involved  with a boarding incident  when   demons  got into the   lab offcie area.

(Not a good time for Frost)

(After going to collect Frost not exactly in the best of shape)

Zob had arrived with Frost in handcuffs and completely disarmed as guards began to move on him he showed them the black card, "All three of you take a break... this wont take long" When they vacated the area Zob kicked out the back of Frosts knees causing a loud sharp crack as the knees fractured, "So you think it fun to drug and rape women you traitor... you are lucky it's me doing this and not them... I'm a lot more merciful"

Zob with a iron grip then broke both arms with pathetic ease causing Frost to cry out in agony as the bones in his arms turned effectively into powder, "I could flay the flesh from your bones and drink the blood from your skull but you... aren't worth dragging it out so i decided you can have the honor of going out with a bang... would you like that Frost?" He then pulled out some industrial grade flex tape and a small shaped charge he then approached the wide eyed Frost, "Open up..." after forcing open his jaw he placed the shape charge in his mouth then sealed it with the flex seal tape before taking him over to the Static field, "I better not find you in the hells Frost cause when i get there ill torture you for the rest of eternity"

Then with no effort Zob tossed Frost out of the static field like taking out the trash before pulling up a crate from his left side and took a seat pulling out a smokewood cigar and lighting it up and taking a long drag off of it, once Frost was a safe distance away Zob pressed the button on the detonator and with a small flash the body of Frost was nothing but bloody mist.

 The Hold  was   quiet enough.. the  animals in  in henry's  zoo walking  about... the  stars  still as they loked out the  static  field... two  Civies  who worked the hold  waiting for a  Big ugly to dock with   foods and such for the  rec dec and  stroage.

With her once again not really knowing what she was supposed to be doing, Harry would quietly wait until Jug had relieved the other troopers from duty before walking off in the opposite direction, figuring she'd take a slow walk around the hold and that if she found anything suspicious would call it in, though with most of the crew on shore leave or the survival run she didn't think there would be anything for her to find.

Jug let Harry wander the hall of the hold as Jug commed to the front desk about taking command in the hold and obligated comm check.  "Lippen...Bog can take command of the other Gava there.  It is best to have them on a patrol or they could become aggitated with no movement" she gave a recommendation.  Last thing she wanted was a group of Gava with critical level of pent up energy.

Harry would slowly make her way down the portside of the hold, pausing every now and again to  peer into some of the animal enclosures to see what they held "So...what's fun around here?" she asked a pair of small furry creatures that were currently napping, their tiny ears twitching at the sound of her voice "Thought as much" she sighed before continuing on her way. Having found no conveniently placed explosives with a big red wire for her to cut or a secret EDT meeting for her to stumble upon, Harry would eventually circle around the end of the hold and walk up the starboard side back towards the door through which she'd originally entered, just in case the secret EDT meeting was running a little late.

Jug nodded at Lynch as she returned.  As far as Jug knew Lynch was not happy about the Gava being there.  Still no reason for Jug to dislike her, many did not care for Gava>  Several minutes after Lynchs walk Jug made one.  She also checked on the on load/ off load area to make sure no one by passed securities protocol and either sneak something on or off that was not supposed to.  Only when satisfied returned to posting area.

Perhaps sensing that she didn't like them and still blamed them for the part they'd played in her sisters death, the Gava would head out on patrol not long after Harry had returned to the door. She wasn't going to be unpleasant to them or go looking for ways to make life difficult for them but she had not intention of burying the hatchet anytime soon either.

Adopting an At ease stance, Harry would stand by the door uncertain as to whether she was supposed to be keeping people in or out of the hold, or simply to look official and take note of anyone that did go through the door. Either way she would remain by the door in a semi-alert state until she was finally relieved from duty and allowed to begin her shore leave.

  The  Mind Numbing wait  as dry goods  and food stuff  arrived, big Uglies  sending thier    tunnels  across. Civie  hold workers securing the  tunnel  and  beginning the unloading .

   The foreman    steps up to Harry,..I sent  word to SEC.. we're  done with  loading... you guys  can catch the Last 2  1/2  Hours  of shore Nagy...

 as if  summoned, Nagy  COMs  Jug and Harry...LT Jug...Lnych.. Come on up... if you guys want shore  leave,  get to the offcie. scan in .. i'm holding a shuttle for you... should have  a bit over  2 hours before recall.

As she was approached a large man dressed in the overalls of one of the civilian contractors responsible for supplying the ship, she wold offer him a polite if weary smile, raising her hand ever so slightly so he wouldn't get too close to her. One of the advantages of being a criminal was that she knew a fair number of the tricks they used such as wearing branded clothing to sneak around unnoticed or to gain the trust of someone long enough to quietly knife them. On this occasion the guy was just a civilian going about his job and letting her know that they were done "Thank you that's most kind of you, enjoy the rest of your day" she said in a friendly voice before then answering Nagy's comms "roger that, I'll be up in a few" she replied before heading back to SEC with the Gava.

  The group entered the Hold 21 officers  were on the  floor  eating out of  Ration packs. A human colonel stood up, two Rookie  troopers  aimed thier  weapons at him as he held out  a pasta pack....this food  is  not  fit to eat!...

 Pasta?  you don't like Pasta.?  You really are  following the Empire.. lets see that..

 Shadow took the pack  and  tossed it out the   static  field.....there.. all better.. don't worry  we have   your last meal in mind for you all...

 He motioned  for those  who came down with him.....Strap feng to that table....

 then he   looked  at the   gathering of  officers.. 2  captains, all  the rest where higher, but below the rank of General or Admiral.. One , was a Sanri in EDT Black...You?.. The hermes saved   the very first Sanri , who were sent to contact us... and here you are, likcing the Empire's Backside  clean..

 The Sanri growled,I could tear you limb from limb....

 ..no you couldn't.. 4 Sanri tried.. the two who wanted to kill me for real, Died.. Two of our own that wanted to 'regain thier  Honor. suffered  major wounds... so..no...

 Now, you all stand there  real nice, while we watch a show , My lovely assistant  and her helpers are about to show  The Whole of the Black..its  a re-run, but i hear the Empire likes it.. so... Ladies?...

 The officers  stood in Line. The Admiral Had asked  Shadow what he had in mind..he  had  ok-ed it, with a bit of a smile.

 The Vid  started...This is  the Late Admiral Wess's  Late wife...this was when the SSN tested our resolve, and lost, at the Battle fo the passage....Now..we see Captain Wess, herself preparing  a  child  for a Loyalty feast.. two  more  are in that crate..scared, knowing that they will be next... we couldn't save this one, the other
 two were saved though... all the officers..every one..died..one way or the others....The SSN uniform  is now , more sickening, then that of the Empire...

 The watched  , the  Sanri shouted...you cannot make us  stand here  and watch!...

 Right now... I can make you do anydamn thing  i want..and you'll do it. or you'll die one of the  worst deaths any traitor   could ever  imagine...

 Larry  Growled  showing rows  of  jagged teeth.

 hw walked down the Line, he stopped at  the women in the group...whadda ya think the   Empire  would do with  female prisoners, such as yourself...

 they looked at  each other, one woman dropped to the Dec.....get her up.. i do not care how...

 meanwhile the Vid played... Cora  and Ellen Helping   Beth with the SSN feeds, while  Cora  'narrated '  here  and there.. the wails of the child, the screams, were odd compared to the smilign faces and   banter from the Bridge  Officers of  The New York, as  Qer La Cal chatted with them as they ate...a good  10 minutes it  took..before the child's  cries   ended.. but the officers  continued to eat, joke and  drink..Qer La Cal, looked  proud.

Zob was off to the side after helping strap Feng to the table as to not get in the way of others if he was needed they would let him know so for the time being he lit up a smokewood cigar and took a drag off of it before glancing over to the vid and seeing Qer there only made it worse he had a long history of bad blood with her.

 Meari walked in she looked at the Empire troops, they where all Empire now, she shook her head then smiled at Feng. Meari just watched the video and it made her so mad they could let someone suffer like that, Meari wanted to slice all of them apart limb by limb. She understood the Demons and other older Empire races, but humans eating their own it just made her disgusted and her fists clinched.

 When the woman falls figuring she was female she moved over and lifted the woman to her feet, and she wasnt being nice about it. She smiled at the LC and hoped it was ok she showed up a little late.

 The troopers   and those who came down did not like to see, and hear the Vid. Shadow's  jaws worked in his  closed  mouth smile as he walked  around Feng, then walked  down the line, not at all concerned , the officers weren't  tied or chained.

 A Major looked to him, her green eyes  stared hard,so?  this is to make  us  feel badly" We all did  what we had to  do.. to make certain...

 The LC's hand came up in front of her face to stop her.....that you would move up  the ladder... The screams of a scared child  as  he or she  suffered   and dies, so you could gain rank?... I hate the  Empire?.. I hat the EDT  and the  SSN, I hate the  Chinese Empire, the Oil Lords  and the Eastern Bloc...but this stuff you do with kids?..how mindless  do you have to be..and how heartless.. look around..

 His Hand  shot out  and he grabbed the woman's   jaw  and twisted her head abck and forth.. the Sanri when to move..  But  Shoey racked up  is  SMG...

 LOOK!...at my Officers...LOOK..at my people..you see thier  eyes, tears  welling  up or streaming down....we have saved  kids like this..alot of them, but no near enough he pushed her  roughly , back in line.. she glared with all the hate in the world , at him.

 I don't  believe in gods?.... I believe in luck, and i believe in myself..and my ship mates..when we  find someone who does not fit into the machine.  we find, other places for them to be..its  a Balance, or sorts...   feng screamed and struggled...Shadow  says...begin your feastt...or?... you'll take his place... Feng was near Mindless, he looked up and hude poepl with   knives and  forks,, he started to cry as he begged..

  The female Major  said...I cannot...

  Shadow  grabbed her  by the HAir  and  pulled her  down  towards  Feng's chest.....you took slcies off a screaming child.. you damn well can to it to him, one traitor  eating another...That would be damn good  Karma....

 The Sanri  grabbed  Shadow,  the lower left  arm brought the  knife  around, and Shadow  caught it...and smiled..as the Sanri looked at him.....you've grown  soft Mr  Sanri... you should have been able to kill me... Larry!

 The Sanri  screamed  as  larry  took off his  lower left leg..Drag him near the  static field, eat him slow...

 The Larrg  crunched off  an   arm, then  pulled the  screaming  Sanri to the static  field.., the sounds of screams  and crunches   were loud, and sickening as  bite by bite the sanri lost a  limb..

 The LC loked at the other Officers Well!..Dig in!

 the officers  did  just that, slicing of  bits of  Feng meat, he cried  and screamed.  the  offciers  tried to eat and  Gagged, Shadow forced them to eat more...


 he looked at the CAM CE-VA had set up...Now?.. of course.. the officers  don't normally  eat thier  feast naked?.. but i thought it only fair..you know...Now  tell me..Qer? is this  god? I mean i don't have dessert here, or  any fine wines..but..does it work

 The Demoness loked shocked as the smiling face of  Shadow  as her officer's kept slicing bits off the  screaming, begging, crying man.

 Now?  all you EDT, EVOLs and  SSN scumbags... this is what  you just might be in for, should you chose to  fight us..and?  we have ship loads of Largs , and Worts who would gladly much down on traitors...but if you are  a Captain and above... I'll make certain your death is the most hideous , painful, thing i can come up with... Wait hang on..ok?

 HEY FENG!.... THE PEOPLE WABT TO KNOW IF THIS IS PAINFUL...CAN YOU HELP ME OUT HERE?

 he screamed  and  tried to break the  straps, he was  covered  and blood, the officers had  blood  dripping down thier chests, some of them cried  as well...

 Shadow turned back...ahh... well...I mean? it looks like it hurts?  Am i right?... I'll shut up now  and let the poeple at home enjoy the show, so slavers and SSN  folks and such can see what is going to happen to them

 the  ordeal only lasted another  10 minutes.. for Feng, it was a life time..

 when it was over.. Shadow had the feed cut.. the officers  , some looked sick ,had thier   untensils  taken from them.

 Shadow smiled a warm smile ...good  dinner huh?..yeah.. Chinese food.. few hours later your hungry again.right?

 I want to thank you al for ehlping  me show   The Balck, just what kind  of people you are he whistled...

 Disna, Puskie and the  Largs  came  in, except  for the  Largs in the Lab.Now..... my promise was you could leave here..here is your choice, Run out that static field, or face the  largs..

 He  Nodded to Puskie  who whistled   and the Largs  shot  forward... they tore into the  Officers,  and more screams were  heard , along with  crunching  and slurping.

 Thank you all for attending... I'm sure the message is sent.. it will make the fear  us..maybe it will make then, not 'sigh up'..or maybe it wil make the fight more desperatly... for me?... I just needed to do Karma's job again..now..gotta get a shower  so   i can be ready for the After  PArty

 The  Officers were getting 'cleaned up  by the  largs, thier uniforms  were  collected  to send to  the QM

 Shadow  went to his quarters. Shade  Followed   . larry stayed helping  clean up scraps

Zob watched as Qer's feed was cut and the officers were being feasted on by the Larg's, once Shadow cleared out he remained for a bit longer. A few moments went by and Zob took the opportunity to stare out the static field taking the last final drags off his smokewood cigar before tossing it out the static field into the cold dark black, "It was never like this..." he said with a sadness in his voice, the old guard he knew were never like this they were warriors not child eating abominations he cursed Qer for turning his people down this path.

 Meari watched and helped out when needed, she smiled at Feng and said ," Hmm I told you it was going to be bad now you will know how it feels."  She will watch as they eat Feng and she seemed very happy at how the LC went about this. She was about to help Shadow when Larry got the Sanri and took him away to eat.

 When it was all done she smiled and helped clean up, Meari then spit on what was left of Feng and left heading to her quarters.

Zob closed the cage making sure it was properly locked, "Gonna be interesting to see when you get as big as the largs... also need to think of a name for you but for now eat up and grow strong" he then left the creature to eat and headed back home to clean up.

  Thelittle beastie   squawked a small roar... , it   danced back  and  forth , but it s head  leaned down a  bit  , looking at the meat.

 It took a Moment, of of the newer SEC guards  who was watching the hold, took in the sight. The  Creature   squawked  and    Glided   down to the  Meat, setting its  tinly talons  in and ''jackhammering' his  head into the morsal to 'kill it'

Zob decided to take the risk to try and give it a little pet on the scales if he was successful he wouldn't press his luck for to long, "Ill have to see about getting you something to hunt next time on shoreleave" most people would probably think him crazy for a demon working with a baby dragon but Zob was here working with the Delta Fleet so as far as he was concerned anything was possible.

Zob took a bucket full of meat chunks down to the Zoo with him he notified the staff of his arrival and carefully entered into the cage and held out a chunk of meat for his winged friend, "You know we never gave you a name... how about Rex?" he kinda wished he could bring his winged friend out more but there wasn't much opportunity to let it fly free on a carrier station such a thing would have to wait until they reached a planet like Bura.

  the creature hopped from  one  foot to another  as it  made it was up the   branch., The  it  settled  down, tilting its head  a few  time   before  Hit  Glided   down to  land on  a thinner  branch near the  proffered meat.. it  darted   it s head   taking the   meat, holding it against the branch as it  tore the morsal and Gobbled  the  bits  down.

The next morning after having woken up early he decided now that he had a few hours to himself that he would stop in to feed his winged friend, "Hey Rex i got you some meat" Zob opened the cage with a small ice cream bucket sized container of meat strips he then laid one out for his buddy, "Gonna be a absolute terror when you start getting bigger"

 Rex  hopped   down a  bit on the  limb that had been placed in the cage.  Then  Glided to  land  on the Bucket, his head turning this way and that, until  Zob gave him  the   trip of meat  . The little creature   nibbles  and swallowed  like he hadn't had  food  for days.

Once Rex finished his slab of meat Zob placed another slice down nearby and Zob pointed towards it, "Kill it Rex!" he wanted to get Rex into a routine where he would start following basic commands if he could do that he wouldn't need to be in the cage all the time and could get some fly time.

Zob continued feeding it the meat scraps until the bucket was empty, "Soon as you get a bit bigger ill be taking you to hunt but for now keep eating and growing strong" he would then hang out with the creature for a fair bit before calling it and heading out locking the cage behind him.

  The  wee beastie was growing, he was about the  size of  an owl  now.. he hopped  back and forth on his  claws.. wings  flapped a bit.. then   Glided  down from the top of the  branch that was put in there. Landing on  Zob's forarm, he  pecked at the meat.

The hold was a part of the ship that Madison had never been to. When the lift opened. She wasn't going to try and wander. In his apartment, Zob said there was a zoo. Looking around, she finally decided to ask for directions.

"Excuse me, could you point me in the directions of the Zoo?"

The guard nodded and gave her very detailed directions. The detail was almost too much, causing her a tiny bit of confusion. She repeated those directions back a couple times to make sure she had it right before repeating them in her head as she navigated her way. When she was finally in the correct place, she stopped to get her bearings, and look for Zob. She didn't see him but there was a woman there.

"Excuse me," Madison called out to the woman. "Can you help me, please. I'm looking for Sgt.Zobaich. Have you seen him?"

Zob's voice was unmistakable. Madison just followed the resonating boom around a corner. She found him in an enclosure with a creature she had never seen before.

"So this is what you do with your spare time?" She grinned. "What is that little beastie. It's so cool."

Zob chuckles, "This little guy is my responsibility after all" he then fed the creature another small strip of meat it perched on his forearm at a impressive height of 2ft 6 inches with a wing span of nearly 6 feet, "This here is a wrymling Pirloc better known in your tongue as a Dragon"

Madison cast her eyes around low. The bucket was right there next to Zob, but it still took her a moment to find it. Keeping her eyes on the dragon, she reached into the bucket and grabbed a strip of meat.  Moving very slowly, she held it up, then pushed it closer to the creature.

 The Beastie Looke d  down  at  Madison,  its head   rose  and   it gave a Mighty ( for him)  roar...which....came out like a cross between a rooster and a stepped on cat.

  ht hopped  from   leg to  let as  its  eyes   blinked.. it  looked at Zob with a tilt of his head, then  at   Maddy..

Zob reassured Rex that it was fine giving him a stern look, "She just wants to give you food, don't be a meanie you gotta get along with others if you wanna be able to come and visit planet side one of these days" he said to Rex like a parent telling their child to settle down.

  The  little creature   hopped a  bit   more,  then  glided off the limb, landing  on Zob;s  shoulder and skittering  down his  arm to  Maddy's  , as  he pecked at the offered  food.

  it  peacked a bit. head   jerking  . eyes  blinking..a  hoarse   'caw', of sorts  from time to time , as it  pecked  at the meat.

  When it was   done, it titled  its head around.

 Its Head   Came  Up and it  Squawked .. it   raised it    wings a  bit.. , tilting its head back and forth, looking at Maddy.

 The  woman cleaning the windows od the  zoo  tapped  on the partion  between the  Pirloc  and soe other creatures Henry brought  aboard..

It must have made a Kill?.. i found half of a   'norway' raat under his   limb.. it was  big..like a baby  Stem rat.

  The woman said through the partition  ( perforated Meta glass) the Duct workers  think the   'regular  rats   sneak about  in crates, then  fine their way into the  ducts..... some times the  fall through the ceiling vent into the  enclosures?..i guess they smell the food?... anyway, i have had to kill some on my own, and  found  dead ones that some of the other  animals  killed...The Maintenance  folks need to   use the   duct electrodes  more often

 she  waves  and moves  away to  start on the other  Glass of the next  'pen'..as   the creatures     scurry into a corner while she works, or climbs on their 'wood'

 The Pirloc  perked  up at the praise.. he hopped back and  forth  spreading his  wings , then took some meat from Maddy.

Delighted by the Pirioc's reactions, Madison, talked to it some more. "Yes, you are such a smart dragon aren't you. Don't let anyone ever tell you different." It was amazing how the creature understood at least the tone of her praise. "And you're so beautiful too." Cautiously again, she reached up to pet him.

Zob was pleased to see how well the creature was adapting especially around Maddy, he did hand it yet another piece of meat he was down to only 1 piece left, "Once the meats gone we should let him rest... you should consider turning in early and get a good rest for the survival run as well"

Petting the dragon was like relaxation therapy. Madison almost forgot where she was when Zob's deep voice woke her from her moment. "Oh, right. Yeah, I get it. He'll want to relax after stuffing his face. I know how that feels." She stepped back to let Zob feed Rex the last of the meat.

"Okay, little Rex, it was wonderful to meet you." She sang in a sweet voice. "I'm going to let you rest now, okay?" Madison waved and backed out of the cage.

"Hey, Zob. I'm going to take your advice and go get some rest. I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

After taking care of a few side duties Zob arrived down in the Zoo to bring the Pirloc his meat scraps, "How you doing today buddy?" he said out loud as he entered the enclosure Draco was getting bigger everyday he was about the size of a Border Collie he then called him over handing him some meat.

  The Beastie  shuffled   down a good   sized tree Branch. Zob could  tell the branch was   fresh  and  was a  good  8 inches in diameter. It was from The Blue Moon and recently installed.

 The w9man Doc hired few Months  away    was at her task  with the squeegee  as she  separated the creatures with the metaglass  and   cleaned  the    containment area  floors  and  walls,,,she  was  Bolting a metal shell that looked like  a  rock with a hole in, for o  a couple of the  creatures  Henry had secured  for study.

 on the outside,  Zob  saw tow of the newer   SEC  troopers with a  body on a litter. the body  had  prisoner garb, with no ranking  or service  related  markings, they appeared to be headed to the  static  field  of the hold.

Zob glanced up from the feeding and noticed newer Sec troopers haul a body towards the static field he got up and walked out of the cage to see what was going on making sure it was secure behind him, "Trooper who is the corpse?" he asked not able to ID it from the distance he was at.

 The Lead trooper shook his  head. Some new Guy ? I guess he messed up pretty good on Paradsie, then almost got  folks killed  on a Delta Night?.. anyway. they brought him her, stuffed him in the brigs, to wait for us to leave the Moon.. he hung himself ?   They would have  made him take the long walk any way, depending on what he said at his hearing..but he by passed the hearing,,save every one time.. He  being  listed   at AWOL..deceased.

The other trooper  swing around, ready to dump him.I was readinging the   Bounty   feeds? the ESN/APF  are looking  for  that whack job, ex Pilot..and the Cat guy ..there was a prisoner  that was here  for a cup of coffee,,, they are looking for his head...  wise i could find them all, I could retire..we gonna say any words?

 Don't see what?..

  The  troopers  dumped the Body on the next , a foot or two from the static  field.

 all yours  Sarge, we're gonna  grb a donut  and coffee  before we head back..

 the other    guy rolled the  litter  up and they headed off.

Zob nodded and watched as the troopers walked off, he then grabbed the head and gave it a sharp twist before then taking his knife and removing the head from the corpses body, upon successful removal he then kicked the rest of the remains out the static field with the garbage.

Once that was finished Zob took the head back to the Pirloc cage and set it down on a stump and resumed the feeding, "Draco i brought you a new toy, have at it boy"

  The Pirloc Looked  at the head, then   to Zob.. and started to feed. the bone  Bart of is  muzzle cracking at the head. as it liked fluids  and  nibbled flesh. small squals came as it Looked  around.Mostly looking at   Zob.
