Some  Vids of Bura pop up on the News  feeds now and then....

  The Skith and Qarl are Locked in " hide and seek " fights..the  Loser is normally the   the first one to pop up (  much like the  mindreader guy when he  went after Si's sister)

 The trotugans  have   taken over a lot of the EVOLs heavy Lifting, even to the point where  their  sloops ( which most of their ships are)...dip down into ATMO and  fire from there, risking  the  attacks  by the  Demons and their allie's  aircover.

 Bura aircover is ...weak..to say the least..they are limited in aircraft, and most of their  good Pilots  are dead.

  the Last Vid  shows the North  pole being  attacked and shelled  by  Bura/AP ground forces...while the  ESN cannot  get  close enough to the Mountain to  enter....neither can the demons  remove  anything/body... A stalemate..but onlu until the Demons  take total control of the air...

  as  folks  watched  shows or  Fleet football, during time outs   some Vids  from across the Galaxy would pop up..most, dealt with Bura.

 The Mountain was   lighting up in the night , explosions  from Tanks   and mortar fire.  Now and then  a Hammer or  Dart would  fly pass the screen, chasing...or being chased  by LArgran or Demon fighters.

 Something disturbing   showed up on the screen. Blood red Hammers with the Decals of the Demon empire on the wings, and the EVOL ensign on the Tail fin.

  Two Tortugan  fighters   , blown out of the sky by these Blood Red Hammers.

   One of them went low, shoting up ground troops as he dropped  something from his   craft.

  the Field Reporter was shown the  Disc...it had one message set to play in a Loop.

 ..Hey!..Shadow? No use coming here..this place is ours now!...but if you do come?..I'll hunt you up!  Blu's grin was Big ..then  the Loop started  again.

  whether they saw it on monitors, or gun CAms, it was plain, that ehre hasb't been this  thick of a fight , since the campaign began. whatever reason the demons wanted Bura..they were  putting a lot of effort into it.

  scenes fliiped by...  ESN/AP  troops   being thrown into thje air by expolsions...Largan  troops being  cut down  byt   pulse and MG fire.

 Now and then a fighter  would be shown, flames eagerly crawling along the ship until it   would Impact in the ground. too few times, did a Capsule eject...

    Their vents opened  as they neared the Ground..the scream of the  Fighters caused   the demons to look up out of primal fear. The sounds of the beasts they had  to survive on their  home planets.

  The   Mass of  enemy troops seemed over whelming, they surged across the plain  from the forests towards the Mountain.  ESN troops fried  away, caught between the Mountains and the Plains

 a small rock formation gave   a few dozen troops  shelter  as they manned a mortar there,

 Shadow lead the Fighters in a  wavbe that   spread out over the plains, cannons, pulse and lazars  ripped through the massed  trops..it would be noted, that Shadow, Flores and Kat didn't use their cannons..yet.

  at the sight of the Fighters  the  Captain of the troops   set fire to somebrush that signaled the  Assasslt shuttles  were to Land...

 Behind them  Large Dark shapes  of the troop carriers began to land...

 the embattled tropps   shouted as one and redoubled their efforts to cut down the charging troops.

    Stoly 1 reaches the ground first, Stoly calls back,SGT MAJOR, My Order  are to hold the Ramp until you and the other Unit leaders   Open your Discs....

 The Troops Gather  near the ramp way, Supe is shucking on his Flame Thrower, and securing the  belts.  Tucker   has a Belt in his MG  with the trailing eadge  over his shoulder as  Benny, his Helper, Has 4 ammo cans  and an extra  belt  that is over his shoulder, His  CArbine is  shouldered.

 Spencer  breaks the  seal and  puts in his Disc....

 The Scots touché down a second of so  after, they appear to be waiting as well...

 Valkyrie is about to hit...

 about 500 yards behind them, Hundreds of troop carriers   are Landing, their ramps  coming down as soon as they hit, troops and Armor Pour out  and  form up...

    The  Hermes  Fighters break off, almost LIke  a flower Blossoming, each flight  circling around to dive down and   shoot Up more   of the attacking troops... Though the sound  would be lost to the fighters... a distant roar of battlecries  came from the   Forest to the East.

  a massive  wave  was starting to  pour out of the  tress with  fast M3 Tanks   shooting out  ahead , while the heavy Panzer  rolled  within the massed  troops..

   Tanks  would fire on the run, sending plumes of   dirt and Demons into the air  when the   shells impacted.

 demon  and LArgran armor   drove forth to try to keep their  stunned troops from retreating...

 dozens of Mechs    moves, turning towards the East to  try and Help stem the tide of the  Delta fleets  counter invasion

  Frans hit the COMs,..Shadow?  I  don't  see any fighters?

 Shadow Opened  ALL COMs, are you surpirsed?   There is   ANYONE on that side that would dare to tangle with Deltafleet Fighters! his laugh, perhaps  staged, was still full of contempt.

  CAptain Morris's Voice  came over  the  Mech COM channel.

  Mech Riders, This  is CAptain Morris. Your part in the Mission will be two fold....the first is to assist your unit's in reaching   the Mountain.... the second is to keep resistance away from the Mountain and aid the troops as best you are able...EVOL targets  are priority...kill  any you see....

In reply to Mechs (msg # 9):

   Bo awaits his orders scanning for threats to his assigned units.

  The  Clamps open on Stoly 1. Morgan steps off the  rack and take a few steps Ground's  soft folks, watch how you walk!

 The whirl of his Gatling  gun  stopped as he activated it.. Kira stepped of the rack as well the Two move a bit in front of the Stoly.

   there were three plumes of smoke rinsing into the air, to thw  western side of the Mountain was  Grey smoke, the Scots  were getting out of their shuttle Now, as the makeshift Bubble Gunner swung this way and that , Looking for Targets.

 The Scot  had their  equipment and were double-tining towards  a Path that a green angel was waving them to.

 Behind them  a Blue spotlight  beam went up into the air..shortly after...a white  beam.

 Moragn got on the COMs,..Smoke on the Mountain, Scoits  are on their way...spotlights are on in the  LZ..Blue  for Supply Depot..White for the Med-tents...


 Then he turned to watch the scene below them..the Blue  wave was  rolling across the plain, black darts of armor flashed  now and again...  a red Sea  was  wavering, some   surged towards the Mountain...others  surged  back towards the Forest to the North.

  as this  went On.. Herems  fighters would  swoop down   sending   lazar, and Pulse, and at Times  hard ammo into the  red MAsses...

  and then it Came from the North slightly higher the ESN  Fighters... waves of Red...most noted..Red Hammers of the EVOLs!

  The  red  fighters  came crackling through the Air, Demon fighters, LArgran fighters and a  few Creshain fighters...But  Jonny Blu lead them all  with his   wing of EVOL Hammers.

 the thick oily voice came on the COMs,Lt Flores? You are flying with them?  I am very displeased, I had thoughts of you joining my Harem when we returned to earth...

 Flores laughed,Listen up , Oil Boy...when i'm done with you...you'll only be of use, as a unic

 It is not  something we should be talking...we should be seeing to them, before, the see to Us....

 Kat's voice came on,Lt Higien? You are of the  EVOl, are you not? It  will be, being my pleasure, to shoot you from the skies...

Roy nodded as he listened to the disc he'd been given, processing the commentary from Morgan and the other chatter along with it.  With a final, firm nod, he stood up.  "Okay, folks, listen up!  We've got a specific mission from the Admiral.  When we get outside, look for a column of red smoke.  That's our objective.  Some of the local Angels are standing by to help guide us in..."

He turned and looked at Irina.  "You're gonna love this one, Corporal..."  He turned his face to the rest of the group, announcing in a louder voice, "Our target is a reactor.  Our orders are to blow the living shit out of it.  This isn't a suicide mission...we're under specific orders to make sure we give ourselves time to get back out before the charges blow...but we don't leave this planet until that reactor is terminally off-line."

He shouldered his gear.  "And, along the way, terminate as many enemy troops as possible, with a special bias against the EVOL traitors.  So, you get a clean shot on one?  Engage.  No haring off looking for them, the reactor is Priority One.  But the EVOLs?  Definitely targets of opportunity.  And once the reactor is gone, THEY become Priority One."

The last was stated in an icy tone that left no doubt whatsoever of Roy's disdain for those who turned against their own people.  "Now, let's go make this planet secure!"

He strode confidently aft, to the ramp, readying his assault rifle after he'd adjusted the balance of the gear bag with the 20mm anti-armor rifle across his back, then looked back to make sure everyone was ready to go.  Once he felt they were prepared, he nodded to Supe.  "Let's do this..."

In reply to Mechs (msg # 11):

 "Copy that, ground soft".

 Slick fires up the Medic and takes to leaving the only shuttle he's ever ridden on the outside of, he wonders, "Which is worse? hitching a ride on the outside of a ship, or heading into combat for the first time"
  It takes a second before he wonders to himself, 'Did I say that outloud? Did I say that with the Comm keyed'? Embarrassed at himself, he nervously waits to hear if the others say something in return.
   He moves to clear any path of the other Mechs so as not to foul routes, and wait to do his duty of reloading and repairing.

Karl listened to the chatter, heard Shadow announce he was peeling off, and nodded grimly.  "Jagger, this is Nilsson.  Hang on my six.  We've got a specific objective.  Maintain standard altitude, let's see if we can do this without attracting too much attention.  Neither one of us is flying a ship that's designed to fend off interceptors...let's do what we can to avoid getting their attention."

He pulled the nose of the Morningstar around to facing northwest. "Ed, start scanning east...looking for signs of development.  Particularly, development around a tall, cone-shaped building.  Let me know the moment you pick anything up, so I can give Mr. Jagger a full briefing on what we're after.  Don't want to risk someone overhearing us, and spoil the surprise, after all..."

"Affirmative, Captain.  Scanning pattern commencing..."

The one thing Karl didn't like about it was, whatever they were looking for was off his starboard side.  All his heavy guns fired to port.  Once they found it, he'd have to circle around to set up a firing orbit.

Of course, the Mace trailing him didn't have that problem.  His inbound run would give Karl time to set up the proper flight path to rain Hell down on the heads of the enemy.

  frans  and Si split the   fighters up, Si's  half went  down to strafe the  enemy in ushc away to  either keep them from the mountain, or slow their approach...fran's  half lifted up, to beaat any of the  demon forces that wanted to attack the  ESN troops

 If things   didn't seem chaotic enough, The mountainside, facing the approaching   attackers,  erupted  in bright flashes . The   Green Angels and the Burians  who had learned from them, had set up mortar sites  and  Heavy Pulse gun nests... Below them , hundreds of   the green humanoids  sent  arrows with metal heads, into the  oncoming  troops.

 Shadow Veered up with  Flores  and Kat.... Shadow  fired one cannon round at Blu, the  shell missed the cockpit  by less then an inch...Blu  Pulled Up and headed  North ward,..Shadow  Climbing in the at direction to gain height...Kat  saw the  marking on another Red HAmmer, and veered  after  Hiegen, While Flore s shot up El'mien's  HAmmer..a row of  Burn marks from her lazars  and Pulse round scorched the side of the Arab's Hammer, He   turned towards the  West...

  Some  foolish, unknown  EVOL , tried to cut off Shadow as he Climbed..he was rewards with 2 Cannon rounds into the cockpit , his  Red HAmmer Torn to bits

 Shadow shouted into the COMs,ONE LESS TRAITOR....LET'S SEE HOW MANY MORE....

   Finally hearing from his commanding officer Bo chuckles "Copy Karl." He settles into position and keeps his eyes peeled.  "This may not be a Dart, and I'm not usually one to crave combat sir but after we're done with the main course I'd sure like to take a bite out of those E-vols for dessert."

Naomi flies the Shuttle down close to where the Stoly 1 is about, but in a tactical range.  She lands the area as she makes note of the soft ground as she flips on the shuttle COM, "Alright everyone we are a go ground is soft so be warned. Show those gutless Bastarde ((Gutless Bastards)) what we're made of!  Stay alert, stay alive, and watch your sixs!" 
Naomi releases the hatches letting the ramps down allowing them to make their move as she also signals her gunners to their positions.

Ajax unclamped Liberty from the Valkyrie and walked it away to take a position to protect the shuttle. His firing arc complimented those of the Valkyrie gunners.

He searched the area for enemy targets and studied the terrain carefully for all available cover. Liberty crouched down a bit until he had scanned the area.

Ajax replied directly to Slick on his Com channel with a humorous tone:
"I think first combat jitters easily tops the scenic ride through the black...

"Each Mech has its own Com channel buddy, and then we have the All mechs channel, Valkyrie cockpit channel... and the All Valkyrie team channel?
In fact you can preset anybody to Com direct?
I've got Naomi, Garrat, Sgt Hunter and Sniper Boon, preset on mine.
You probly wanna stay on the Ajax channel for now dude..."

" Be ready with your pulse gun Slick.
...in fact why don't you try some practice shots? ...try for that rock over there in front of that wrecked demon fighter.
No worries... If you flush something out... I'll nail it with my .60."

   with The ESN Fighters   torching  people on the ground, and chasing  enemy fighters as they came into  range, Karl and Bo manage to break away from the Big Fight. below they could see a  small line of enemy APVs heading towards the Mountains ...Karl's  Nav system   blinks,  he , himself can see the top part of the Cone..as they draw near they can see  the  base spreading out, away from   the Thick patch of forest...

 Justin's group

   The    Fighters  never   noticed  the Flight  coming down from the Black, whatever cover the  enemy was going to leave, had taken off when they heard Shadow and friends were locking up with their fighters

  As they drew  closer, Justin could see the   two targets...there were also three  EVOL shuttles Lined up with troops  marching into them

Irina was on her feet, towards the middle of the stack. The adrenaline surging thru her system. Left her feeling light on her feet despite the massive weight on her pack. Despite her efforts to stay calm she was spooled up. The wait for the ramp to go down was just killing her. Trying not to think about it she slapped a nicotine patch on her arm, and focused on Roy's explanation of their orders. That was when the heavens parted, and the angels began to sing. Irina began to giggle maniacally. She had to bite her lip hard before it got to out of hand. The primary reactor. Oh Spencer had no idea how much fun this was going to be for her. This might even be a better explosion than the time she nuked the Isle of Death. She only hoped her sister was having as much fun as she was.

The Dart twisted in a beautiful Arc in an attempt to get behind Hiegen's fighter. The pressure of a few Gs tried to crush Katirina into her seat. Her finger hovering over the firing trigger on her joy stick. She wanted this bastard traitor dead. More than that though she wanted him dead quick. Her first job as wingman was to be Shadows body guard. Protecting the Lt. Commander from attack from behind. So he could focus on knocking down enemy fighters, and in this case one in particular. As the images on her HUD lined up for one perfect second Kat gave the trigger a quick squeeze.

Ajax Comed Naomi's channel:  "Hey Naomi?  Mechs are doing a little practice firing here?
Nothing for your gunners to get alarmed about... I show no enemy yet in range at the moment..."

Naomi looks over to the Mechs from her Cockpit.  "No worries there I'll inform them of such.  Just be cautious, even with a little practice fire may stir up some local fighters.  Training a new Mech fighter are we?  We'll keep watch here."
She wasn't sure if they were warming up or as to whether it was a training thing that Ajax was doing, but from her experience caution was needed.  She sent a private COM message to each of the gunners.

Sgt Brins began chewing on a fresh toothpick to settle some agitation while he waited impatiently for what he yearned for was action.  Reading the COM message, "Maybe making some noise is what we need to get this party started."

PO1 Vaugh searched the area for any type of signals.  Being in the top bubble gave him a bit of advantage as an overseer.  Once receiving the message and hearing Brins, "I wouldn't worry about not getting enough action out here Brins."

Corp Lospe reworded tactics to himself to keep his mind active while they sat waiting for what may come at any moment.  Getting the COM message made the Corp scan the area quickly before checking the COM.  After hearing Brins and Vaugh talk all he can do is chuckle.

  Scots....

  the last of the scots reached the path that lead up , around towards the west of the Moutain and the  Grey smoke. The  'homemade' bubble gun swung a bit , left and right, it had twin .50s, but it wasn't as clean as the Stolys were.


 Valkyrie..

  the ramp came down,  Slick and  Ajax   a head of them, the  Purple smoke seemed to be straight  ahead..a worn path vanished into the  trees and shrubs there.

 Az-el looked up at the   smoke and Nodded,Move quickly..quietly..this must be done....
 she said to her  people as then  readied to move towards the path, waiting for the rest.

 Stoly 1...

   Irina Followed Supe , Tucker  and Benny out...the 6 Troopers  came out  a bit  behind. one of them dropped his  pack ( after taking out his spare Mags), picked up  two Belts  Of MG ammo from  the crates and  wrapped the belts  around,saying,can't hurt right..have  Tucker  a few more belts?

 Morgan and Kira   moved  outward to the  East, about  50 yards from the edge of the  Hil top they landed on Morgan says,right now, they don't even know we're here..sooner or later some of them are coming up this hill...


 Lyri stood   outside the  Shuttle Looking through the scope of her rifle, 3 largran Mechs ehaded this way..they must have seen us  land..some troops following them...

 she shifted her   rifle into the air  and Grinned,..Irina?.... I see them..Shadow, Flores and Kat..mixing it up with some of the EVOLs...wanna see?

 she'll hand the Rifle to Irina...Just about the  time   Kat closes in on  Higien...

    Kat was on  Higien's  tail, her shots zipped past his aircraft until a Lazar chewed some metal from the tail. from watching  Shadow, she  saved her cannon rounds f to kill, and the Pulse weapons and Lazars  like tracers.

  the Cannon rounds followed the Lazars,  Higien's  Tail Blew to pieces as he   screamed something in his language.. The  heavier Hammer Spun  awkwardly trialing Smoke...he pounded on his  Pod eject, but it  would not work... his  Screams and Pleas echoed through the  COMs for a few ...very long...seconds, until  it   crashed into the edge of the Forest, a bright   Yellow and red Fireball blossomed as  his Ammo went off...



 Shadow's Voice  sounded   Pleased...Calm..and very very Cold, Good Job Kat.... traitors Look real good when they'er on fire....Don't worry Jonny..you'er gonna find that out.


 Flores Twisted  her DFArt   in a corkscrew-like roll, Lazars and Pulse rounds  Zipping out. twirling  like  maypole ribbons.. El'mien was flying for his life...trying to keep the heavier Haammer out of the  path of the  weapons..he wasn't doing well...more scores appears on his Wing..El'Mien cried into the COMs,....Please...My ship has  taken Fire.... I will surrender!....

 what's that?..Can't hear you  El'Mien..you know  how us women are..can't get the hang of some of the simplest things....

 Blu   was  smart enough to   twist and turn as he tried to head North. Shadow...knew, if Blu wanted to go North...he wasn't  going to let him...  Pulse rounds   flew  from Shadows  Guns  as he  , deliberately, sped up to   get slightly ahead of  Blu on  his  starboard/east side..  one  Pulse  round Hit the   Hammer's  right  wing Blu Veered hard to  the Port, headed   South and west...Kray smiled....

Roy grinned.  "Three mechs, you say?"  He set his assault rifle aside and unslung the gear bag, setting up the 20mm Barrett on its bipod and slotting a single round into the chamber and closing the bolt.

"Nothing personal, guys, but I haven't had my hands on one of these in years.  Have to try this one out.  New toy and all..."  His smile started off playful and ended up murderous as he lowered his eye to the scope and squared the crosshairs on the cockpit of one of the oncoming mechs.

"Just want to even the odds a bit..." he commented...then fell sillent as he took a couple of deep breaths to settle himself.  As he let out the second breath, he tightened his finger on the trigger...and as the breath finished going out, between heartbeats, he squuezed the trigger.  The rifle bucked lightly, designed to compensate for the recoil of such a large round, and a 20mm slug tore through the air toward the Largran mechs.
