Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

JACK slams into Roland twice, missing once. He is looking rather wobbly on his feet.
[Private to JACK: His armor is definitely helping to soften the blows, but he is still hurting after your attacks.]

VIL takes advantage of his opponent's weakness and stabs him squarely in the abdomen.

Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

DAI's magic misses its mark, which would have been a major relief to him if he had been aware of DAI trying to kill him in the first place. The bats are still swarming around his head and body.

DAI, following your instructions of movement would provoke an attack of opportunity from Garland's great sword and would not provide a clear shot to the other palace guard. I moved you to a spot in the direction indicated that would avoid the AoO and allow you a clean shot. Please double check your moves in the future.

Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

VIL barely misses the guard. He has his strike lined up perfectly, but the guard swings his body around to escape a thick patch of the bat swarm and VIL's sword only slices air.

Roland and Garland's eyes meet. Roland takes a 5' step to the west and readies his guisarme. He seems to be on rather shaky footing.

The other palace guard continues to flail around, and it seems like he's actually managing to get rid of a lot of the flying rodents. He waners 5' to the west.

Soldier #2 isn't having quite so much luck, and wanders 5' to the west as well, provoking an attack of opportunity from VIL.

Soldier #3 has a few dead bats lying around him on the ground, and seems to almost be rid of them. He wanders to the south 5'.

Garland moves up behind JACK, and as soon as he's in position Roland stabs at JACK with his guisarme, striking squarely.
20:55, Today: teslas rolled 7 using 2d4+5.
20:55, Today: teslas rolled 19 using 1d20+9.

Garland swings at him with his sword at almost the same instant as Roland's attack, "there is nothing for you to do, fools", slicing JACK extremely viciously across the back.
20:57, Today: teslas rolled 14 using 1d10+10.

The other palace guard finally manages to rid himself of the bats around him. He looks at VIL standing in front of him and takes a 5' step to the northeast, still holding his loaded crossbow.

Soldier #3 has also managed to scatter the bats around him. He takes cover behind a statue to gather himself and reassess the fight.

Garland yells rather uncouth statements about Sara and DAI's ineptitude to save her over the orb but DAI manages to keep his composure.

VIL's eyes glaze over for a moment and a flurry of spells erupt from his hands. All of ZEIG's wounds are healed and he wakes up full of vitality.

The other palace guard steps back from VIL and fires his crossbow at DAI. The bolt almost misses him and passes straight through the meat of DAI's arm.

JACK smacks Garland in the helmet.
[Private to JACK: You think that all but a small amount of the force of your blow was absorbed by Garland's armor.]
