Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

ZEIG accidentally flings his dagger out of his hand as he's trying to swing. It lands in the goblins forhead, sticking into his skull a couple of centimeters. The goblin's eyes cross as he looks up at it.

ZEIG, you no longer have your dagger.

Gob1 and Gob3 swing at ZEIG, one missing and the other dealing 3 damage.
20:46, Today: teslas rolled 4 using 1d6.
20:46, Today: teslas rolled 6 using 1d20+3.
20:46, Today: teslas rolled 14 using 1d20+3.

Gob4 swings at JACK once again, hitting him hard.
20:48, Today: teslas rolled 6 using 1d6.
20:48, Today: teslas rolled 20 using 1d20+5.

The goblin leader continues to attempt to kill him, hitting hard.
20:49, Today: teslas rolled 6 using 1d6+2.
20:49, Today: teslas rolled 21 using 1d20+8.

JACK slumps to the ground unconscious. Gob6, full of hatred, bends over to bash his skull in.

ZEIG uses Benediction here.

Gob6 merely strikes at his prone opponent, whacking the hell out of him.
21:09, Today: teslas rolled 5 using 1d6.
21:09, Today: teslas rolled 21 using 1d20+7.

[Private to JACK: Assuming you want all 5 in SIO.]

BILL sees JACK get lambasted with small morningstars and stabs at Gob1, nearly killing it instantly as his rapier goes all the way through, freezing the backside of the goblin.

Round 4:
20: Goblins
12: BILL
10: VIL
 9: DAI
 8: Goblin Leader (BigG)
 3: JACK
 1: ZEIG

Battlemap unchanged. JACK is now prone.

[Private to teslas: Yes I would like to use my limit break.  Rolling now, because immediate action means it interrupts combat, correct?]

Zeig sees Jack go down and the goblins moving in and unleashes a burst of radiant energy, healing all nearby allies.

22:05, Today: ZEIG rolled 8 using 2d10. Benediction.

[Private to teslas: Yes but I normally wouldn't use it unless there was no other way to save them.  I.E. Vil got to go next and was in range to cure or something similar.]

Both attacks land dealing 4 damage after DAI's robes absorb part of the impact.

The goblin leader is going to continue to kick a man while he's down, dealing 6 damage.

Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

The goblin leader hits JACK again, but fails to confirm his critical. JACK takes 5 points of damage. [Private to JACK: I'm assuming all into SIO.]

08:49, Today: teslas rolled 5 using 1d6+2.
08:49, Today: teslas rolled 19 using 1d20+10.
08:49, Today: teslas rolled 29 using 1d20+10.

I've never seen Total Defense be used before getting up from prone. Good move. Saved you from the confirmation.

JACK stands up, but is now Staggered, on the verge of passing out again.

Will skip next Goblin Leader turn.

You cannot use Divine Seal as it is a Swift action. Benediction already used your Swift action for this round. Sorry I screwed everything up guys :X

Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

Gob3 keeps his back to the cart and slides down to try and stop the person bring people back from death, dealing 4 damage after ZEIG's robes absorb a part of the blow.
09:02, Today: teslas rolled 5 using 1d6.
09:02, Today: teslas rolled 21 using 1d20+3.

Gob4 steps around behind JACK, who now is feeling much better, and manages to barely scratch JACK's temple with his nasty morningstar. The strike narrowly escaped devastating him.
09:04, Today: teslas rolled 1 using 1d6. Damage.
09:04, Today: teslas rolled 14 using 1d20+5. Jesus Christ.
09:03, Today: teslas rolled 25 using 1d20+5. Vs JACK's AC 20.

[Private to JACK: Assuming SIO damage again.]

Gob6 attempts to do the very same, but JACK nimbly dodges his attack. It seems as if the goblins are somewhat confused about how much of a beating JACK can take, thinking he is constantly on the precipice of death.

BILL calmly steps around a dead goblin body and attempts to hit the goblin closest to his cart, nearly rending the goblin in two with his small rapier. Frozen goblin guts fly everywhere. Its head comes to rest at ZEIG's feet (in his square) with the dagger still stuck in its forehead.
09:08, Today: teslas rolled 17 using 3d6+3.
09:07, Today: teslas rolled 24 using 1d20+6. Confirm.
09:07, Today: teslas rolled 26 using 1d20+6.

What the hell is with the DM crits? I didn't do a secret roll that time just so you guys could see.

10: VIL
 9: DAI

Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

In the interest of speeding this along, I've not heard from DAI since yesterday, and he's given me (limited) permission for his character for the rest of the encounter with certain constraints. I'll attempt to follow them.

Since JACK was on total defense, and cannot provide a flanking bonus, DAI stays where he is and attacks the goblin leader.
13:07, Today: teslas, on behalf of DAI, rolled 2 using 1d4+1. Damage vs. Goblin Leader.
13:07, Today: teslas, on behalf of DAI, rolled 19 using 1d20+3. Dagger Vs. Goblin Leader.

DAI stings the goblin leader for what looks to be an almost ineffective strike altogether. He then shifts "up and to the right" to make it harder for the goblins to surround his squishy body, and to provide a flank for JACK.

The goblin leader seems to be resting himself after his super-goblin exertion last round. >_>

Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

The DM gives an evil eye to the White Mage through the fourth wall O_o

ZEIG puts his foot on the Goblin's forehead and pulls the dagger out. He firmly believes the decapitated head of the goblin is probably deceased, and that it was most likely the decapitation which caused such an effect.

One of the goblins attempting to kill JACK finally realizes why he wont fall over, and turns toward ZEIG. The other blindly continues to stab at JACK, believing he's about dead.

Gob6 swings at JACK, walloping him the belly. Hard.
14:25, Today: teslas rolled 6 using 1d6.
14:25, Today: teslas rolled 21 using 1d20+5.

Gob4 turns and shifts towards ZEIG after distracting JACK for his ally. It yells out some gibberish in goblin. [Private to DAI: Human healer! Die!] ZEIG gets nicked for 1 damage.
14:26, Today: teslas rolled 21 using 1d20+3.
14:27, Today: teslas rolled 2 using 1d6.

BILL proceeds in his work, nearly oblivious to everyone else, acting as if this had happened hundreds of times before. His chocobos look like they're entertained with a worm crawling across a rock nearby. BILL shifts downards and stabs at the next nearest goblin to his cart, killing it where it stands.
14:30, Today: teslas rolled 8 using 3d6+3.
14:29, Today: teslas rolled 15 using 1d20+6. confirm critical.
14:29, Today: teslas rolled 24 using 1d20+6.

Jesus Christ, BILL...

The goblin leader seems to be much less confident than before.

Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle

DAI blasts a chunk of rocks at the goblin leader, but misses horribly as they go shooting off towards the far canopy of the forest. If JACK hadn't been paying attention they may have hit him instead.

For future reference, enemies don't gain +4 AC against your ranged attacks when they're in melee, you take a -4 penalty to your attack. Include that with the rolls on your side, please.

The goblin leader, enraged once again at being the target of a magical attack, turns towards DAI and swings ferociously. DAI takes 5 points of pissed-off goblin morningstar damage.
