Re: Chapter 2: The Ancient Cycle
BILL gives the party one last solid eying before turning his cart sharply, running over some bushes, and heading back towards the road.
You can take 20's for Search checks if you're not being rushed or threatened. I'm going to go ahead and assume you do that for each goblin. It takes a couple minutes each, but you want to make sure you find anything possible.
On the eight normal goblin bodies, you find six potions of Cure and a total of 88 gold pieces. They, again, are all wearing nasty small leather armor with crude morningstars of subpar quality.
The goblin leader is about 10 inches taller than the rest. He appears to be wearing nasty, small studded leather armor. His weapon, however (small morningstar), looks to be of fairly decent quality. His light crossbow, too, looks to be of somewhat decent quality, although small. You find 28 gold pieces on him, as well as a map. The map looks as if it was drawn by humans, and then heavily used by goblins.
DAI attempts to make his best guess at what it says. It appears to have originally been a map of the forest outside of cornelia with guard patrols labeled on it. Over the top many profane notes almost obscure the map's original purpose. One in particular seems interesting: "Meet armored humans on north plains at daybreak 3 days from now." It doesn't specify what day exactly is supposed to have been three days prior.
The sun is setting and the sound of BILL's cart fades down the cobblestone road as you search the goblin bodies and read the map.
