Re: Chapter 3-B: Across the Aldi and Into The Forgotten Deeps #1

Instructions received from Vil/GRIM via text message.

GRIM lets loose another swing of his axe, cutting the snake off of ZEIG as if cutting rope off of someone.
18:12, Today: teslas, on behalf of GRIM, rolled 18 using 1d10+12. axe damage (PA 5).
18:12, Today: teslas, on behalf of GRIM, rolled 21 using 1d20+7. Axe vs. Asp #4 (PA 5).

He then spins, keeping the momentum, and cuts at the asp behind him (#1), but misses awkwardly due to the force of his first swing.
18:15, Today: teslas, on behalf of GRIM, rolled 11 using 1d20+2. Axe vs. Asp #1 (PA 5, second attack).
With ZEIG freed, he takes a 5' step to the northwest, ready to grab (Cover) ZEIG and move him out of harm's way.

Round 2:
19: Asp
18: GRIM
 8: ZEIG
 6: JACK  - Flat-footed, Prone
 4: DAI   - Prone

Re: Chapter 3-B: Across the Aldi and Into The Forgotten Deeps #1

Zeig attempts to move to the other side of the fire.  As the asps lunge for him Grim grabs him and they swap places.  Zeig ends on the northern side of the fire and casts a familiar spell on himself as his eyes glow blue.

19:53, Today: ZEIG rolled 12 using 1d8+6. DS - Cure I - ZEIG. (18) (19) MP:52/53

GM edit-
You forgot your Physician, Heal Thyself class ability. This puts it up to 19 points of healing. Every little bit helps (and later it's A LOT of bit).

Also, remember to include that MP total in your spell rolls, damnit

JACK comes rolling out of the tent onto his feet. This impressive and articulate control of his body in such little time is only matched by how impressively easy it looks for the snake to evade both blows.

Dude. 5's? Both of them? RPoL fucking hates you so much.

18:56, Today: DAI rolled 17 using 1d20+6. Stone RTA PBS vs Asp 3.
Damn, both 1's...a 1/144 chance >.> Anyways, rough terrain above and left of Asp 3

Re: Chapter 3-B: Across the Aldi and Into The Forgotten Deeps #1

The stones shred the tent even wider, pelt the snake, and land in a pile behind it.

Furious, and now aware of another person within reach not covered in plate armor, asp #3 takes a 5' step into the tent with DAI. Seeing this, DAI quickly throws Ice Armor onto himself.
03:58, Today: teslas, on behalf of DAI, rolled 34 using 1d20+14. Grapple vs. Asp #3.
21:05, Today: teslas rolled 14 using 1d20+6. Asp #3 grapple vs. DAI.
21:04, Today: teslas rolled 7 using 1d3+4. bite damage.
21:04, Today: teslas rolled 21 using 1d20+7. Asp #3 vs. prone DAI.

The ice shell blocks the snake's bite and allows DAI to slip away from being grabbed.

Asp #1 bites at the new person standing in front of it, JACK, finally sinking its venomous teeth into something. It then overpowers him and coils itself around JACK's body.
21:14, Today: teslas, on behalf of JACK, rolled 21 using 1d20+9. DC 14 Fort save vs. poison.
21:13, Today: teslas rolled 7 using 1d4+3. constrict damage.
21:13, Today: teslas, on behalf of JACK, rolled 12 using 1d20+8. grapple vs. asp #1.
21:13, Today: teslas rolled 19 using 1d20+6. Asp #1 grapple vs. JACK.
21:12, Today: teslas rolled 6 using 1d3+4. bite damage.
21:12, Today: teslas rolled 20 using 1d20+7. Asp #1 bite vs. JACK.

Asp #2 breaks the tip off of one of its fangs on GRIM's armor, barely missing a small gap near his neck.
21:16, Today: teslas rolled 20 using 1d20+7. Asp #2 bite vs. GRIM.

Note:

I apparently misread DAI's instructions for Elemental Armor. He always wants to use it right before he is attacked. Previous post fixed.

It is still GRIM's turn.

DAI thinks a moment, and starts to move to a kneeling position, hoping GRIM could do that little switcheroo with him that he did with ZEIG earlier to cover the opening he made in raising his head. If successful, DAI will attempt to concentrate on a Sleepga to debilitate the Asps, but for some reason is distracted by a giant freaking snake that was about to eat him.

13:34, Today: DAI rolled 15 using 1d20+13. concentration DC 18. MP
Dang it...I spent like a minute wondering if I wanted to use Manafont before deciding I didn't need to /sigh

13:35, Today: DAI rolled 1 using 1d20. conserve MP 18-20.
Yeesh...a 2 followed by a 1, I think JACK stole my luck >.>

OOC: Let me just say that I will recast Ice Armor if I am hit, since I don't think I can wait for the other to break off before casting another to maximize damage absorbtion, if I can then I will do that...I ain't wanting no con damage

Re: Chapter 3-B: Across the Aldi and Into The Forgotten Deeps #1

The door flaps of the tent block line of effect out so GRIM cannot Cover you. The western wall of the tent blocks line of effect to the Asp outside. The only clear direction you can see out of the tent from where you are is to the northwest corner of the outside of the tent.

I don't want to wait for you to redo your action, so we'll just continue on like you failed to cast Sleep since you would have failed that as well. I'll refund the MP for Sleepga. And yeah, giant freaking snakes are pretty distracting.

Asp #2 turns and bolts away from combat as quickly as it can (Withdraw action) to the southwest.

Asp #3 renews its attack against DAI, who again instinctively shields himself in ice.
16:47, Today: teslas, on behalf of DAI, rolled 21 using 1d20+14. grapple vs. Asp #3.
16:47, Today: teslas rolled 17 using 1d20+6. #3 grapple vs. DAI.
16:47, Today: teslas rolled 7 using 1d3+4. bite damage.
16:46, Today: teslas rolled 23 using 1d20+7. Asp #3 bite vs. prone DAI.

Its attempt plays out just as the last, with DAI's Ice Armor absorbing the damage of the bite and allowing him to slip out of the snake's coils.

Again, GRIM, you cannot actually see DAI. You can make out both his and the snake's silhouette through the canvas, netting you a 20% miss chance to attack either one (attack DAI!). If you move 5' to the west you can see the snake inside of the tent just fine through the hole DAI's Stone spell made.
