22:55, Today: ZEIG rolled 28 using 1d20+11. Craft (alch) - Cure Potion again.

25 gp of materials each, so 50 gp for 2 successes.

Zeig busies himself with crafting potions during the night, trying to keep his mind occupied.

10:00am Windsday, 7th week 852

The first few hours of the Windsday sunlight are spent with DAI attempting to make a potion. Luckily, he manages to fail fairly early in the process and the group, now only three, sets off for their second time.

Following the path of the river, the party's chocobos find the terrain quite amicable and on which easy to travel. The forest to the party's right (south) stays as thick as it had been previously.

DAI hears an odd voice, and turns to see yet another dastardly halfling person. He immediately raises his hands above his head in as threatening a manner as he can. "Careful guys, it's another sneaky midget...no offense GRIM." DAI doesn't care what this guy says, he is not ready to shake any hands. looks at him.

Sili draws himself up to his full height. "Who are you calling a midget? I'm taller than you!"

The half-elf in front of you bows, drawing his cape in a grand gesture. "Silivrentoliel Fárranwen Neltathlhûn, bard. I'm in pursuit of a dastardly band of grey imps. Have you seen any about?"

23:00, Today: ZEIG rolled 8 using 1d20+4. sense motive.

Zeig gestures behind some large plants off to the side as he speaks.

"We haven't run into any imps, though I bet your hound is very useful in tracking them.  Are you familiar with this area then?  Perhaps we could aid you in exchange for a guide or information."

Not rolling for diplomacy and junk since he's not an npc.

Sili is 6 feet tall, with brown hair and green eyes. He has an air of confidence - even arrogance despite his simple clothes.

He gestures towards the dog, an Alsation. "Milo is indeed useful, though I am not a native of these forests. However, I am currently tracking 10 or so grey imps, a very difficult number for myself and my companions. If you assist me, I would be happy to return the favor."

Sili turns back to the group. "If you'll follow me, I'll lead you to the last tracks we were able to find. Sili will set a course back to the tree (assuming that's the last place we saw the imps tracks.)

Re: 10:00am Windsday, 7th week 852

An extremely grizzled-looking and animal skin coated halfling drops out of a nearby tree with a graceful *thwap* onto the ground. He clears his throat, spits, and gives the three mounted people a good glare.

MILO easily tracks the trail left by the gaggle of imps down near to the edge of the river. As he begins to follow them, turning to wait for everyone else, it's obvious the tracks lead in the same direction ZEIG, DAI, and GRIM were already going.

Re: 10:00am Windsday, 7th week 852

Actually taking the time to look down and study what the large dog is paying attention to, DAI and ZEIG can both notice ruts in the ground from what must have been a cart of some kind. DAI also points out a bunch of trampled grass he'd assume might be left by the goblins SILI is speaking of. Neither, however, can competently hope to follow the trail as it hops over stones and roots north-eastward, though MILO appears quite capable.

21:35, Today: teslas, on behalf of GRIM, rolled 6 using 1d20. Search.
21:34, Today: teslas, on behalf of ZEIG, rolled 15 using 1d20+2. Search.
21:34, Today: teslas, on behalf of DAI, rolled 21 using 1d20+4. Search.

You can use Search (or Survival for that matter) to find sings of tracks, but you cannot follow them without the Track feat and Survival skill. I rolled these to make it clear that SILI appears to not be lying.

Zeig makes an attempt at conversation, eager to distract himself from recent events and hoping to learn a bit more about their sudden companions.

"So what did these imps do to bring you all the way out here?  This is pretty far off from elven country, excepting drow, that is."

Sili sighs dramatically, "Murder, theft and cruelty to animals! While I was visiting a local halfling tribe the grey imps killed two halflings and made off with precious goods and a rather nervous ox. I, being something of a hero to the community, immediately set off to track down these vile beasts and bring them to justice. Accompyaning me on this heroic endeavor are Milo, my brand new tracker hound, and the silent Raif."

Sili wastes no time on his new allies introspection, instead choosing to keep following the grey imps tracks. "Indeed! I was somewhat at a loss as to what I should do once I caught up with them. I would have dealt with them one way or another, but more resources are always a good thing!."

Re: 3:00pm Windsday, 7th week 852

The party follows the tracks for the course of several hours. MILO stops occasionally, sniffing a wide area, before continuing on down the bank. The party notices that the ground has been stamped and disrupted in each area where MILO stops, though nobody can determine why apart from the fact that the cart apparently doesn't change course.

Finally, turning around a bend in the river, an abandoned cart and a dead ox can be seen up ahead. Approaching carefully, it looks as if the cart has been emptied and much of the ox has been butchered away. MILO seems confident the trail turns southward back into the forest, and is quite happy to continue to follow it as soon as SILI instructs him to do it.

A distracted GRIM and SILI almost bump heads as they approach to study the ground near the edge of the clearing, staring downward (with SILI leaning over quite a bit). Though neither is sure, they can't think of anything else that would leave large foot-prints in the soil. At least one giant was here as well, though they are unable to guess how long ago or where it might have went.

22:52, Today: teslas, on behalf of SILI, rolled 22 using 1d20+7. Search.
22:52, Today: teslas, on behalf of GRIM, rolled 22 using 1d20+2. Survival.

22:52, Today: teslas, on behalf of DAI, rolled 17 using 1d20+4. Search.
