Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

The board game Twilight Imperium is fantastic.

For the rest of the day I have to go repair holes in the ceiling and walls of my old college party house. I moved out two years ago, but I still have a sizable security deposit that I might be able to get back a portion of. Rent there was 1500/month and we had five people... so many holes.

I am covered in gypsum. I do not miss my two summers of hanging drywall for a living.

If JAGA hasn't posed by tomorrow when I wake up, we'll continue on. He's had long enough and didn't say anything about not being available during the weekend.

Uhhhh, I don't understand the joke, wherever it is.

Garus's post says that he went south west.

JAGA, where do you work if you don't mind my asking?

Also, if your phone has 3G, it almost assuredly can be used for a hotspot. What type of phone do you have?

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

I work in New York City. Macmillan publishers. It can be used as a hot spot, but I can't afford a lot of data. I get 250mb a month, most of which I use for work.

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

Holy shit. That's like, nothing. You'd think New York would be out of the stone age. Out here in bumfuck TN I can't get less than 4 GB a month with 4G LTE. There's just no option for it.

Macmillan publishers? You guys sell real quality pieces of shit...

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

I prefer to look at the good books We publish. also I have no say in who We publish, just who gets to review the books we do publish. For that book, I gathered the biggest list of idiots I could get and got the book to #2 on the New York Times bestsellers list. It's just a job, people who want to read bill o'reilly will read it, people who don't want to read it won't read it.

You're glazing over one of the topics that comes up in entry-level ethics. I'm content to let you do it, too.

In reply to JAGA (msg # 274):

Not sure if it works the same way as just blocking specific sites, but have you tried looking for a proxy site to access rpol through?

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

Anything I'd do to help you would probably really piss off your employer if they found out about it.

There are things you can do on your end, but I really don't care to spend the hour or more it would take to figure it all out.

For starters, just to see, is it your computer you bring to the office, or does the machine belong to them (likely)?

I've tried proxy sites as well as direct proxy servers.

It's their machine.

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

Then the best we could do is have you install a program which you might not have the rights to install. It could scan all of the open ports on your network to see what you have to work with.

We could also do desktop sharing so I could see what is actually going on.

The first thing, if your have a competent IT staff and are at a moderate-to-large sized company, will throw up a red flag pretty god damn quick.

The second thing is less likely, depending on the company's day to day operations.

Also, I don't know about you guys, but I am loving the super-long dice roll history. I don't know when they changed that (over a week ago), but it's nice from a number-loving autistic's point of view, as well as from a DM's.

I hadn't even noticed that! Man, now I'm gonna make some huge retarded mistake while intoxicated some night and someone will discover it a week later.
