Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

Still kinda shitting water off and on from the stomach bug, found a new girl toy, and have been busy with the new job. The other D&D games I'm in I've been almost exclusively posting from my phone. It's nearly impossible to create ASCII maps from a damn phone. In fact, we'll just say it is impossible because before I'm done I'll throw my phone into a wall in a fit of rage.

Pretty soon here it's real-life nerd time.

I have not forgotten about you kids, and I really want to move along.

In reply to teslas (msg # 390):

No worries, the game has managed to survive this long so I'm sure we can wait out a stomach bug. I don't think anyone is going to blame you for not wanting to do an ASCII map on your phone.

ASCII maps aren't even readable on my phone, let alone creatable. Definitely no hell given there.

Hurry up and get better/stop having a social life/quit work so we can fight some illithids or drowned though, something real bad.

Sorry I've been gone so long. Last semester of college is hard. A lot of project going out in every class.

Still alive. Still super busy.

I'm going to give all of your a bonus for the long period of inactivity once I get a chance to sit down and plot the next part out. It will be akin to an action point that you might find in other systems.

The maps in this section, unlike previous ones, are not already all pre-made and measured. This is why it's a bit of a barrier for me to sit down and throw up a post in ten minutes like I normally would.

Just letting you guys know I am definitely interested in keeping this going.

Appreciate the reminders and updates, I mean it's not as good as updating the game but at least you care enough to let us know you're still ignoring us :p

Action Point, hm? I've definitely seen that term a few times...generally used for upping a d20 roll you don't actually know the result for(success/failure), but feel like it could be better.

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

I've never used them but I've had action points explained to me before. Changing a d20 to a d20 + d6 is the worst way to use them, it only slightly increases the odds of whatever you spent it on working. There are better things like feat emulation, feat boosting, getting an expended class ability back, spell recall, spell CL boosts, etc.

Check it.
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/vari...ing/actionPoints.htm

He said akin to action points though, not that he was going to employ action points, so who knows.

You know I'm generally around, just waiting for things to pick back up.

Having played Eberron, I've used them before on my Artificer. Very useful.

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

Just got done with my real-life game. Two people in our group are stupid as hell, personally, and all of their characters they make are also stupid.

Luckily the other two people in the group (of which I am one), managed to get away. Next session will involve two of them getting sacrificed to the Kua-toa god, Blibdoolpoolp, then re-rolling, because I'm sure as fuck not going to pull a probably suicidal two-man rescue mission.

Good times.

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

No. And sadly, we'll probably never pick it back up, at least with our previous group.

One of the guys moved away, and the other's life doesn't lend itself to spending 6-8 hours a week not working or watching his child.

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

Came back to my parents' house to help them move some stuff around and set up their new computer machine. I don't know how I feel about Windows 8 yet.

I am not on my home machine, so I don't have my materials. I am kicking myself for not bringing it, as this is probably the first time I have one or two contiguous hours of basically nothing else to do.

I'd rather not get into a situation of ret-cons or "oh yeah, there was a statue there, which just shot lasers at everyone for 20d6 damage, sorry I forgot to mention that before"-type things. Else, I'd be more than happy to just fling it out from memory. This section, meaning this cavern, could potentially be content-heavy depending on what you choose to do, when you choose to do it, and some dice rolls.

Re: OOC: Literally, Everything Else Ever

If anyone here gets how much less time consuming it is to be a PC vs. a DM it is the two of us. Unfortunately for this game, I have a ton of free time on my hands and you are very busy. I look forward to when you are able to DM this game again. It was my first PbP and I'm still pretty interested in what's going on. My time in the army separated me from my character a shit ton but I'm still interested in where he goes and what he does.

You are busy with work and homelife, just stop in sometime and say "We're good to go!" Our newest friends Garus and Jaga haven't been around long enough to sense that "When this finally picks up it will pick up for reals, like, at least 1x per day." Right now all they get is "Sometime in the future things might happen."

As much as I selfishly don't want you to deviate attention from my game because as a DM vs. Player there is a certain content of ball-busting work involved, I'd like you to address the guys that aren't in my campaign and are still excited to play in FF1 Redux. Let's do it! Get this started and we'll follow. We have a semi-vague objective, getting the crown from the horrible monsters within. Out of character I have an enormous opinion of what they are. IC I'm pretty sure Zeig has no idea of what the next immediate threat might be. Wooo Marsh Cave! Do it!

I'm working on it! If my desktop machine was still working properly, it'd probably get done a lot faster. I hate having to edit/use multiple applications at the same time on the laptop. After a few hours of it I get frustrated, whereas on the desktop I can go into an autistic trance until my bladder or stomach tells me way too many hours have gone by.

A post does not take hours sir, usually.

EDIT: You're not waiting for ZEIG's game to match it in post...are you?

Oh, you mean the post in this game, not the one on the giant in the playground forums.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through spells on GitP, and am fixing errors as I go along. Some work on the elemental enfeebles needs to be corrected, which is where I paused last time.

Oh...OH You actually meant to pause for the duration of the entire system fixes unlike the other, likely smaller updates. Sorry I must have missed a step there.

*cough* just gonna go over the stuff you've posted by now, I am not entirely sure how much of my spells need to be rewritten. I still had a choice in updating class features next level, right?

None of your spells have changed enough to, in my opinion, warrant allowing you to retrain them. I really don't care, apart from the break in continuity (not like the months-long break hasn't already done that enough).

Actually I meant how you swapped around stuff so right now 7th level is blank and Conserve MP II is obtained at 8th level.
