Re: OOC: Everything Else

Well it sounds like you two should walk inside, very far from Garus and JAGA, and just pull them off of this nice gentleman. I see no reason why he'd mind. I mean, he's dead, right?

(Which reminds me, I need to roll know(relig) for some people (but not ZEIG or DAI as they are still outside like pansies).)

ZEIG:
Does the main path proceed beyond this 'village'? More exploring to do.

It does, and there's five more of the stone "structures" to look inside.

On phone.

DAI, nothing in the room is magical.

You can keep concentrating on the spell as you walk around.

Re: OOC: Everything Else

Garus, it's a survival check to try and remove the silk gland. Know(nature) would provide a synergy (or someone could assist with it).

It would take about 60 to 120 seconds to try and yank something useful out.

I'll do so, maintaining concentration for as long as I can- if combat breaks out go ahead and keep it up for the sake of Detecting our foes, but I'd likely drop it in the first round to free up my actions for spells or wands.

Re: OOC: Everything Else

I guess no ret-con. And I'll assume you want to head to the right as suggested by team survivalist.

I'm going to go to the little boy's room, make some dinner, and try to sober up (while drinking beer, so wish me luck).

I'll update the game after all of that is done.

The whole team historian/team survivalist thing is pretty humorous to me.

Proposed order of:

JG
ZS
DM

Jaga and Garus in front for obvious reasons.

Miloh in the back because he's an animal companion and probably better at noticing enemies than the fearsome threesome.

Squishy BLM in the back for his immediate reaction defensive spells as opposed to squishy WHM and squishy BRD.

Thoughts?

You just don't want to be in back.

That looks ok for the marching order.

No problem, JAGA.

You didn't miss much. Be sure to go back and read how you lost your left foot (permanent -5' move speed and -1 Dexterity) and gained three negative levels.

It was only two. You had to reroll the save because his save bonus went up after he contracted lycanthropy, remember?

I think you'll like being a wererat, Jaga.

Re: OOC: Everything Else

By the way, it's a common houserule of ours that you can perform climb actions with one hand instead of two if you take a -5 penalty to the check. I see no reason to not spring this rule onto you guys right now.

The reason: your lamp. JAGA can easily pass the DC 5 climb check one-handed, and even when doing an accelerated climb. All those days back in his mountain monastery are paying off.

This will matter more later if you guys all decide to scale a wall at the same time. Of course, now, the climb DC is kinda just a formality due to the rubble. You could probably set down the lamp, climb a foot, pick up the lamp, set it down a bit higher, etc. In initiative situations, this would be ungodly slow.

Wereshrew. Same thing, but smaller and they smell worse... and are less agile.

edit-
Also, the damn random encounter roller is on your team down here, it seems.

Re: OOC: Everything Else

Suggested method of approach, and Zeig would echo this in character.

First order of business, wide-berth scout around the area. Looking for signs of life or forms of movement, guards, etc. If nothing is determined then move ahead with the search.

People that can take a hit and have perception modifiers are good choices for the scouting while the trio of magey mage stays the hell out of the way. I don't know what kind of spot/listen Jaga/Garus have but if I were a betting man I'd say Jaga's mods are higher.

Search order if the scout around provides nothing:

1st - 3, fountain
2nd - 9, obelisk
3rd - 2, single story building
4th - 1, raised platform
5th-8th - 5-8, mausoleums

What happened to 4?

Zeig, despite being a compassionate priestly dude who hates The Man, has a serious craving for gold. This is mostly due to how important it is to the success of the quest, though if he was a thief instead you'd think he was half-dragon. Based on all the bullshit that's happened to him in his brief time as an adventurer, he's also developing the rogue paranoia, so this kind of scouting is completely in character at this point. I feel a sudden urge to put skill points into sleight of hand.

Re: OOC: Everything Else

As far as #4, I put it on the map then realized you probably wouldn't actually be able to see it, so I removed it. I wasn't in a sneaky mood, so I just left the numbers the way they were.

If the party is going to split up, I need to know who is going where. If the entire party is going to go on the initial wide-berth round, let me know. I need at least two of you to move everyone, and people to individually confirm if they're splitting up from the "main group".

SILI, Garus, remember to let me know if you have your companions do anything but either follow 5' near you or sit on your shoulder.

Despite being awful at all things sneaky, Zeig would like everyone to move together unless someone could explain to him in character how they would function better independently.

There we go, there's some detective work. Glad I waited a little while.

Next order of business: the nearby large non-symmetrical structure.

Going to pause here a little while. I hope to update the game again tonight.
